And we're gonna update you on what's going on with that if they're going back to work and -- we're gonna take some of your calls today. -- -- wanna talk to about some of the involvement the people of had in this whole disputes over and do that just a few minutes -- going to be joined by -- -- -- from the Boston Globe. Who's gonna talk to us about some very revealing notes that came from a meeting with the board and Arthur T. I believe this is back in November. Is that it was -- -- was back in November I think it was. And -- a lot of animosity a -- on display there and number -- Casey Ross sort of walk us through what occurred during that meeting which I think gives us. A real good idea of how these guys really feel about each other. -- we're also going to be talking about the health connector here in Massachusetts. It just sucking more and more of our dollars. Out of our pockets so we'll talk about that Larry Kudlow is gonna enjoy this a little bit later in the show so we had a great lineup today and not happy that you could be witnessed. Where's my days sort of from keep up on world events and what's happening in the world and I was so surprised this morning. To pick up the papers and read that. -- World Health Organization is now saying that the Ebola. Outbreak which we have been talking them -- much this week chuck for whatever reasons -- -- -- the headlines. But I guess it looks like it should be in the headlines looks like this outbreak is much more dramatic than what we thought or what's being reported. -- they're saying that it's simply may be under reported in Africa largely due to the fact that obviously the hospital facilities over there are lacking severely. In simply being able to count all the cases that are coming in and beyond that you are also have a number of folks that because of I guess I don't know of tensions of the right word but I guess suspicion of healthcare worker right. Simply don't want to go into public authorities say hey I am sick right and so you have people who may actually be dying that they don't actually know are dying and stick with the buyer. Switches which is a bad thing because when you're trying to isolate you're trying to to close in. On a virus like this it's tough for you people who were actually afraid to even say. They've been infected because so no doubt them in the numbers that have been infected and a lot of people are becoming contact with. I would bring this up because if you remember. This really has an impact on what's going on here in the states because we've got that we got that. A drug that's being produced in San Diego. That they're trying very hard to step up production of this drug because they do think it has some kind of impact on these sound these victims. You'll remember that we have the doctor and the volunteer worker who were at -- still down in Atlanta and they were both treated with this drug. And both. A life you know we we aren't very many updates on their condition. But I think it's almost a miracle that there are still alive did doctor if you remember before he was brought back over from Africa. He actually called his wife as they were putting him on the plane because he didn't think he would live to get to the states exactly exile. I think it's safe to say that if they're still alive two weeks later that the drug or something has certainly had an effect. But again we go back to this of this drug maker in on San Diego who'd been making this drop. But was really still in the early ages. Of testing the drug. When they decide they would give it to use these two Americans. And now on the World Health Organization along with the FDA have been working with this company hopes that they could. Increase the amount of the drug in existence so it could be sent over Africa. Made a big difference in the drug makers sounds stock prices. Been a pretty positive thing for them that's for sure. Yeah and I think again the big thing with this virus is there's so little if it's not there's a little -- -- there's a little that's known about how to treat it right as Milan the treatment has happened. In Third World countries where you simply do not have. Access to the type of medical care that you do here and so. I think the thought is and bring those people back that well with better parent you know you look at pictures of hospitals in Africa and it's dirt floors you don't have the sanitation that you do here. You don't have the technology and I think that's why there's people been brought back to the United States. It's just changed gears just a little bit let's talk about you know we've talked. So much about so many of the geopolitical issues have been going on in the world I mean it's really been a crazy summer you know -- It was kind of a -- into the summer and everything calms down to the rest of the world has not been all that called. -- the situation in the Middle East the video cease fire is held which has been good. And they continue to talk there and then you go to Iraq where again this morning we we. Had air strikes on ice is locations throughout Iraq again this morning and it looks like the prime minister is going to step down in new prime minister will. -- to place a prime minister we hope we'll have the ability to bring some of these factions together so that the Iraqis have. And -- strength that they can fight crisis on their own. But these kinds of geopolitical issues always have a pretty big impact on world markets and it's certainly had an impact on. Well enough what's been happening for the last quarter. In Europe. Yeah and when you look at Europe in particular the Ukraine situation is the one that is really dominating started to if it's really the one that is dominating what's going on there and in particular right now. We did see some issues with Euro zone growth and in fact we saw some contraction. In the eurozone. In the first quarter of this year in the second quarter of this year rather. And pretty much no growth happening in Europe at this point and a good portion of that is due to the fact that you have a lot of activity that's grinding to a halt because of the uncertainty regarding what's happening in Ukraine at this point right. Look who who knows exactly who's funding who I think it's pretty clear that both sides once again are not really playing by the rules in this situation. And so I think that when you look at this it doesn't appear to have any type of and in sight right now we -- a couple days ago where apparently there was an agreement reached two cents a Red Cross vehicles into Ukraine from Russia. We then overnight apparently heard that there words and incursion not an invasion but an incursion into my Ukraine space. By Russian forces last night. And so it's I don't see any. Resolution to this happening any time since because if you're going to see one. For this specific situation -- what party happened Putin had plenty of chances to back off and say we were wrong we -- on this. Likewise Ukraine had plenty of chances say look we're gonna respect their rights of you know whoever. Not that actually happened and so both sides continue to dig in right now. Are you just hope that it doesn't turn into. And it straight out shooting war where you actually have you know Russian regular force not just special forces in their supply your operating you know different. Different. Italians but essentially don't want actual forces invading the country and that's that's I think still the biggest fears that it was so many people in close proximity. It's very easy for something escalate. Well the question really becomes if you have an anemic economy. In Europe on we've certainly seen and anemic economy in Japan what happened here what kind of influence does have on the states. Well there obviously all related in particular the Euro zone and the US do share quite a -- -- they are two largest trading partners there when you. Factor in all the countries and so I think. That between. What's going on in China as well as Europe -- mention Japan but you and you look at Brazil and India and places like that right now. If there's a slowdown across the world. Especially in some of the police had been -- the world economy last couple years places like China. Obviously you have a massive property bubble that while hasn't burst yet it's still a major question in terms of what does that mean for the world economy. Brazil has all kinds of inflationary issues and in no growth rate now. And you look in India which appears to be started to recover this year after having major currency issues last year. And there are a number of question marks. And really the US right now as one of the few places actually doesn't have any major Bryant. Issues I mean obviously we're not growing as quickly as we'd like at the rebel XT 45% GDP growth but the fact is we're still doing two and a quarter percent GDP and it's a relatively stable growth planes were on right now right so I think. The one issue that you do have is the cause this is also interconnected. If you do see a significant slowdown internationally. That can't have an effect just on imports and exports from the US and that's something that you wanna watch in the coming months. It's. Well we will be doing that certainly here at the financial exchange we hope you'll continue stay with us as we keep and I. On our economy in the second half of the year and if we'll have more growth on the note that Hillary Clinton is gonna come along to talk a little bit about some of the numbers that popped out this weekend. How he feels they're influencing. The second half. Of the year but in the meantime we're gonna take a break -- when we come back right here in the financial exchange we -- gonna talk with Casey Ross. Again we wanna talk to him a little bit. About this meeting that occurred on back last fall between. They do analysts cousins and the board and I think you'll get a real sense of why they seem to be having so much trouble coming to the table. And coming up with some kind of agreement. Once we talked to Casey says there with -- -- when you're listening to the financial exchange I'm -- Kerrigan -- not a single to. Barry Armstrong and comparative. Right here on the financial exchange radio network. It's back to school time and it's time for you to brush up on your education about estate planning. Did you know that from married couples you may be -- unnecessary estate taxes if you don't have a trusted place. For a married couple in Rhode Island this gift to the government can be as high as 100000. Dollars for two million dollar state. I don't know about you but I have plenty of other people in my life that I'd rather give 100000 dollars to. Pushing -- Dolan has put together a brand new guide called back to the basics. The best in business. This isn't right here Barry Armstrong. On the financial exchange radio network. I'm back everybody to the financial exchange great to have you along on this Friday morning well as I said. Earlier in the broadcast this was the day. That -- Employees who received a letter from the coast CEOs on Monday. They were instructed to get back to work and so far -- counts. It looks like most of those employees who had not intended to go back to work are not going back to work. But it all of course stems from this ongoing strife. Between the two -- cousins. And -- joining us is Casey Ross from the Boston Globe and TCU guys. Got your hands on some of the notes from some of the meetings that have occurred between those cousins and the board through the years. Yeah we were able to get a hold of transcript. Actually about the conversation that occurred in the boardroom meant the most supermarkets which is the parent of market basket. Over the last decade or so. And equity by reading some of these transcripts she conceded there was not a lot of love between all of these guys. Now I mean these are extremely contentious board meeting. The dispute between the -- might sort of colors. All of the discussion that you see overtime I mean what's interesting about that to me is that. You know they're arguing over issues that are that are very real issues that any corporation like -- always -- the other arguments over. The role of the CEO of the power of -- yet I was spending limits on him as well as the you know other things like -- should -- be distributing more of our cash to. Shareholders or should we be reinvesting back in the company. It's just that doesn't dispute in this matter with these families. Are really amplified. Well they get very personal little thing thank you very personal I would have voted -- -- right. -- -- -- yeah yeah in the U. You kind of want to assume that your your average contentious board meeting doesn't get is personal some of these things and calling out each other calling. Each of the by bad names and whatever. Now at a restaurant -- yeah -- Well I got to say something -- this is also -- somebody got to pick this up and this should be a weekly television show because if you're really does. Unfolded such a way that it's it's pretty unbelievable. Yeah I mean it's it's better than fiction -- he can't he can't make up this this kind of a disputed certainly. I think there's been a lot of interest trip from the screen writers on this. You know police wouldn't look at these transcripts though and -- two things come to mind the first thing is that. This is not new. This this debate and I think we all knew that but I mean this debate. -- some of these transcripts go back to 2009. And he did this this hatred and them and use that -- even military strong. This hatred between these two sides has has existed for a long time. And it also brings me to the idea that. I can't see where that is going to resolve itself enough for them to make some kind of deal here. Yeah at the -- and that and that distrust between the parties here it's. You know transcending their ability certainly to be able to the -- -- and think clearly about the business issues and I mean that's. That much is obvious and we don't know whether they will be able to ultimately make a decision to say this company it's. It's collapsing and -- -- we're seeing it every day. It's a really tragic situation. I think that's because this is the company that. So many people and you know that can the so. Many millions of people on the two million customers rely on this work lower cost countries is very good quality groceries and that it's upsetting a lot of people on -- I keep thinking about. All the the outside entities that are being affected as well much -- customers but I'm talking about the the people who supplied and the suppliers -- being -- greatly affected as well. Yeah I mean that the you're absolutely right I mean you know the effectiveness spread throughout the New England economy there -- a lot of it's not just. You know the members of the the multifamily that are hurting certainly it's a lot of other company. Well in fact I would actually argue that I think the members didn't respect. Family are hurting the least in this. And that it would be these employees and ultimately the customers in and providers. That are gonna hurt the most let me let me ask you a question because you have been following this closely Casey. On those letters were sent out Monday and Tuesday from the two new co CEOs. Both days telling employees they need to get back to work those who received on Monday need to get back today on Tuesday they had to go on Monday. And it doesn't appear that anybody is going back to work are you hearing anything different. Now we're not seeing that distance sort of broke and the employee walkout in any way. Similar situations -- -- -- -- then that it workers are not returning to work and that they're continuing with their non negotiable. -- not negotiable demands that are Turkey be returned. And you know all along all of these employees and people who represented them have said they did not anticipate that this would ever get violent and yet. We are seeing video that's being shot right now in talks -- Across the street from the headquarters where a lot of the employees are are holding sort of a small scale rally. And some of the chanting his gotten a lot more -- pointed and and it just feels like the mood has changed dramatically from two Friday's ago. Yeah I think the tension at the emotion is really rationing out because we're talking about people they can't afford to be out of work out right now and our protest and they're not being in. No no party and its no side is budging one. -- and it I think that is. It's really. The attention that much more. Real and -- intent and it's. You know worse it's just like we're starting to reach. Kind of a breaking point and desperate and you know who knows what that resolution -- -- -- Well and and one last question for you here and that's of these two CEOs who have been charged with trying to pull this back together which I -- -- feel like these poor people are puppets in the middle of all this as well. But they have been they've been instructing these people to come back to work or lose your jobs. Don't you feel like if if they allow this date to go by and they don't take action. Then they may as well just pack up and go home as well. Yeah I mean I think they're gonna act completely lose any credibility of the don't act on you know the consequence that they laid out that you know people will be you know fired for abandoning their -- -- think bad but their backs against the -- that's good is -- -- I'm sure that. Like you say that they packed up and go home so I pushed I think you can expect it be that they'll take them. Decisive action. I don't feel too badly -- them -- they're certainly getting paid and the display in the middle augment. Right but you're right about that back down and I'm sure they feel somewhat powerless that's for sure on the Casey -- accuser. Angie being with us tonight. So I think he's right I don't think these CEOs have any choice I think they knew. When they wrote the letters and they consulted with the board and they consulted with Arthur us. And they wrote those colors on Monday and Tuesday and sent those out that that come Friday. And Monday they were going to have to take some action in I don't know what time today that actionable occur but I think it's going to. Yeah and and you really just hope that. Some relatively cool it -- because otherwise it's a long weekend before you get back to Monday and do you think that's going to have. I don't need to know their -- I think I think this is something you have to watch very closely. And the problem is that your viewers -- actually there are people's livelihoods caught in the middle of a family feud and it's getting to that point out a month out people government paid -- What are you going to do you. We're gonna take your calls folks would like to see what you think do you think they're going to take action and didn't think it cooler heads will prevail. 88820562263888205. 2263. And we'll take your office. This is the financial exchanges on the financial exchange radio network. I recently met a couple who had a thirty year fixed rate mortgage at five and a half percent. I suggested that they refinance with leader bank. They were Smart they used a ten year mortgage two point 99%. The monthly payment was a little bit higher 300 bucks I think. But now they'll be debt free time an attorney 65. More importantly they reduce their interest rate in state more than a 180000. Dollars and interest payments. Annual percentage rate rate subject to change without notice all alone subject to credit approval member FDIC equal housing lender and -- now lasts for 49250. Very Armstrong here with your. Financial exchange quick tip of the day I'm joined by Todd what's -- from the law firm of Cushing and dole and Todd I've been told that if a married couples is worth a couple million bucks they could end up paying a 100000 dollars a voluntary taxes to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. First of all I hate the idea of paying any kind of unnecessary or voluntary taxes how could this possibly be true. Yet you're you're Meebo I Mena as much as I don't like to pay taxes I like it even less have to pay taxes and don't have to write. Ashton and this would be one of them. So that the reason is that in Massachusetts we get this one million dollar exemption for estate tax purposes which means you me -- week everybody -- houses. We have the ability to lead up to a million dollars to someone other than a spouse and not pay tax how do you do that without this inheriting your spouse you create simple trusts. Whether they be -- double or irrevocable. Depending on the type of plane you're looking to do. You create these trusts in and most importantly you transfer some of your assets into these trusts so that on the first death. You're leaving assets in trust for the benefit of your spouse. And that money and would be less than a million subject to taxes the first state. Under your -- therefore any. Leaving not owned by the surviving spouse that's your spouse only owns the -- and trust. And as long as they're less than a million -- out successfully sheltered two million dollars and didn't give a gift a 100000. While we're talking about this morning's market basket in. Today is sort of do you think they're gonna go back do you think that the company's gonna take action the action that they said they would today. Well look it it's the same thing so. We have this thing with Deval Patrick saying he should go back to work in this right and my point was look they go back to work they lose all efforts well likewise. And -- not siding with the company if the company doesn't do anything they lose all leverage -- and they look weak so that's the promise you kind of backed both sides to a quarter now where. They can't actually come together and and solve this issue so I think it's probably pretty likely that something does happen. Right -- John I'll tell you thank you very much for your call actually John brings up a good point and appoint that. I absolutely wanted to bring up on during the course of this broadcast denounce the idea of these politicians getting involved is it at a point where. Politicians are responsible and it's time to step in because of the economic impact we saw the governor this week. I'm step forward and say employees go back to work you know you need to get back to work you're not serving the customer base and you gotta get back to work. We've had all kinds of politicians who have stepped forward and who have said you know we're supporting these employees but we'd like to see market basket reopened. So so it really does come down to this issue of do politicians belong in this debate my view has. From the beginning they don't I don't think they add anything to the debate I think that it's a very easy game for them to look good that. And I don't think that they should be involved in any private corporations business. I think that if it were something that worse state run obviously very different scenario but. Given the fact is a private corporation. As long as the corporation is not doing anything that is against state law I don't think politicians at any business being involved here. Whilst we have on the line you got Margaret from New Hampshire and we've got bill from Revere I'm sorry. I expect it but crop. Absolutely what what what's your question bill. But -- definitely should consider. -- you're right every figure you that you go to the rally and and hope that very quickly it'll resolve for people and customers just like bill. Outlets we wanna wanna continue this conversation and what I really want to pose the question. To all of you listening and I'd like to hear how you feel about how do you feel about politicians getting involved. Is a private business and making private decisions and yet we seem to seem politicians more and more trying to get involved. Also now seeing clergy members of the Merrimack Valley some forty clergy members have signed a petition. Trying to get this resolved do these kinds of outside influences belonged. Market basket this morning again folks and yeah we just we felt the need to talk about it because this is sort of what most of us here in the studio or anticipating could be the beginning of there were letters sent out on Monday as well as Tuesday to a number of the employees who were the home office analog distribution place. Who were told that they had to get back to work those who receive the letters on Monday the date was today those who got on Tuesday it's Monday. And up by all accounts nobody's going back to work in an -- I I I was reading that part of what those letters sent was that done. They won it all signs. Associated with this management change out of the windows of all the market baskets. If you've been by market basket of Iowa in two nights ago just drove by and they were signs throughout the windows with RTT picture we want RTT back. They -- all that down today and I've seen on Twitter a number of reporters posting pictures from market baskets in the -- no of course -- So the reason we're wondering if this is the beginning of by all accounts and everyone we've talked to Casey rots from the Boston Globe has been following the story. And releasing the same thing Nancy if this management does not make some kind of knew that they don't follow up on threats. They'll lose all credibility and then who knows where this is gonna -- so. We've been asking the question do you think politicians should get involved in this is this their place would you have so many people being affected. 888205226. Factory. 8882052263. Is our number we'd love if you -- in this morning do you think politicians belong in this debate. Definitely we're gonna go to Margaret in New Hampshire now Margaret thanks for coming on. Welcome thanks I don't think -- Really but if politicians get the ball. You're governor told the people they go back to work that -- is going to be such a magnitude of current and people like figuring -- that one vendor on. And end in Hampshire is that like a small strip mall disaffected every store there right. Now what I got I those shopping market now. And so we're where have you been going in in an army still going there right now while the protests are going on energy gone somewhere else. All I went to London and I went there yesterday and a I refused to go to the other stories that developed by the way higher in the night and I that I would remember. -- at the grocery department I went there for a few things. -- know what that person and Iran are on the case. If I have to spend an extra hundred -- that we can grocery how bad that is so don't duet. I yeah outright -- start looking around. But are you said you know our governor did get involved which you're you're governor has been pretty vocal about it there as well. Leno but it -- Can -- attack at the heartbreaking thing of all the people -- that battled back and. But do you think that politicians belong in the middle of a private company making decisions about their management. Well maybe not but the -- that -- -- different doctors think. Well I think the only thing that makes this different is just that it's affecting a lot of people -- I think that what's pathetic about this. Is that this private company can't get on with their business. Well yeah and and I think that's the big issue is that it's gone on for so long now right mice might issue with if you have let's say that government says okay we're gonna get involved -- you know we need -- ever when -- to get back to work well. What's to stop where you draw that line it's it's a very slippery so that's why -- say it's bodies is they look you simply don't get involved because. Otherwise you can't draw that outlines -- right. That's my take in and again it's it's easy. The government has no way to actually force people to do anything on this which they shouldn't. They shouldn't have any way to make people either go to work or not go to war so. That's why if if the government starts if whether the governor whether it's state -- whoever it is. If people to start saying that they all I support a support market that's complete we'll. What can you do -- right absolutely want to support we gonna do about what mark to market basket employees get a good job. You -- write -- tell them to go get a job somewhere else given some good advice how about that right now it's it's not helping them. No you certainly not like to New Hampshire this morning good morning to light to these politicians belong in the middle of us. I -- -- -- there have been motivation. Why. Work. A whole. There were. City. -- -- -- -- Sir I I I got to take issue with this -- I mean his wife works for very large lot law firm. We don't know that she has any direct you know involvement in this and I don't think it ropes and gray. Is at this point depending on this this whole. Market basket the issue to keep them afloat so I'm not really sure you know I -- I understand that people think that's why he has gotten involved or said anything. I'm not sure that I -- that the same way chuck I don't know what do you think I mean is the governor saying this because he's trying to save his wife's job. Well I think ropes and -- typically has contracts that are either at a fixed cost or on an hourly basis of was on an hourly basis they probably want this continues so it just doesn't. It would make sense to me -- a fixed costs doesn't matter whether it's in the deal is resolved or not though he still get -- It you know -- to get brains there's no getting -- -- iron right in -- going to be RDT lawyers no matter -- insanity curable right used to you're talking a mile 300 lawyer firm they're also doing Aaron Hernandez's right right defense -- I would argue. That I just don't think that's why gotten I don't know I I I I I don't know why he's gotten involved or said anything except that I. Can only take him for his word not that he knows there's a lot of people being affected bit I don't think he belongs in it I think you should stay out now I've. Have any place in this at all I think this is all about those that that board and those two men. And resolving it I think it's irresponsible -- all of them at this point that they haven't had some kind of resolution whether it's what these employees want or not. It needs to be resolved definitely felt for Melrose what are your thoughts. I can pinpoint -- very good you know I couldn't hear about the spot about the legislative -- open I I don't have a problem. He's the legislators are doing and as the government there they are speaking out individually just because we expect them to be -- they'll -- they don't lose their voice. As a status then and here this is affecting their constituents. And I think it's perfectly appropriate and almost expected that they should get out they should be in mission statement there and you. Know whether I wanted to bring it to that. They they got their option every November -- and an amber at the last. The state data at their opinion about what these people now. I have a lot of problems people legislatures -- in the aviation via an -- I am and other things besides that but I I -- what it's about the heat of. My questions and so much whether it's okay for them to speak but are there other things even related to this situation they should be doing whether it's setting up temporary programs in order to provide food for the communities affected things like that. Art there was more valuable use of their time that simply saying I support employees. You don't want one could say that but also the program but they're talking about both of the program. Established and maintained on the local level of -- but maybe they should reach out -- those program -- of course I can get it can be difficult but that break. But -- that is and here with respect everyone's talking about the unemployment if you check out the employment web site and look -- didn't -- Actual statuette on the line that. There's an issue as to whether or not he. Employees would even be eligible employment and and I stand by employees of the customer I don't think the shot there in the situation resolved. I'll let you know albeit employers discriminate on the line and I think that's -- I can do the customers spend a few extra dollars. -- what's coming out of my pocket it's our laps and coming out of their pockets but I'm the stand and what they believe. All right thank you opened and it and it is interest him because on on one level you know certainly. I don't think either of us are trying to say that these that politicians shouldn't be able to speak what they think about an issue but I establish with the grandstanding. -- it's an easy issue for politicians to try to look good on. It's much harder to come up with actual solutions which I think that's the job of politicians not to say I support this or that it's to say here's the issue here's how I wanna try to. So I think you'd use said it best when you said earlier that you know by. Win win early on and a lot of these legislators started signing this petition. That they supported the the employees it gave the impression that there was gonna be some kind of action done to and to support them. And I think it it gave almost a false sense that the state was doing something for them and in the state that can't do anything for them. You know not in their fight against that big company -- at doing it now for the there now can they do like you said you know can can me. They help and their respective communities and trying to come up with some resolutions and some ideas. That would help the customers that would help the employees at this point maybe so but they can do anything for them when it comes to market basket. No absolutely not. We have -- from Lexington and good morning -- Good morning Carriker and allow us our that it can no longer guest host. -- The reasons for the animosity. Between the two fairly and maybe get it just over the legal judgment. Well it pretty much when you look at the situation that's been going on really since the seventies and all went RDT side of the family. One way or another pretty much gained control of the company through the creation of some shell corporations. There's been a lengthy legal battle that went on for twenty years that included. God judges being thrown out punches thrown in a courtroom. And really neither side looking particularly good on this RDT is obviously. Very favored by his employees do the generous benefits packages that he's offered. RTS clearly has some motives which appear to be selling the company for the greatest profit possible. And so I think that's where the battle lines have really been drawn here neither one and in terms of the two owners based on their behaviors been saint. I don't think that either of them are also. You know necessarily the worst person in the world either -- -- their typical businessmen both looking to make a profit. And I think that unfortunately. A lot of the employ later. Markets have fallen about a hundred points on this news from their highs Dow down about. Fifty at this point. Your situation though it's not that I don't wanna be negative -- off for on a beautiful Friday in -- people have a wonderful weekend so we don't wanna talk negatively but talent unfortunately that is not good news and on this beautiful Friday we chose on the subject to market basket to chat about because we questioned as to whether. Employees who were told that they had to back to work today would do so and if in fact some of those employees are going to be ago I am just looking on my Twitter account here and I see. A lot of employees who work. Sending out tweets saying that they Dick crowd is growing in a parking across the street from their headquarters in talks break. So on the wilder I'm not sure that there was an official rally going be altered their rallies certainly being held there. And a lot of people are not going back to work today you would be great actually if all the employees started selling. For its investigation out -- I just that the parking lot across the street from the headquarters I believe down there into expert David aren't they having like a pig -- they are. I think they're actually turning this into a summer so everybody. Well. More power to them. I just in lol good morning Jeff thanks for joining us -- a financial exchange. I got money we're gonna keep the prices well that's what is -- taut them at a market doubt -- -- run in all my time anyway. Jeff let me ask a question though -- -- week we talked and I remember chatting with concern we talked a week ago. Now where wheat down the line and we got more people not collecting checks more people are being threatened. And and more people were being forced to shop at other places what what do you you know what do you think's gonna happen here can this be resolved at this point. Well from everything that I -- out here is it is actually in the works could be resolved. What amazes me is what's not being bad from the com. But they are working with body Jeter come up with a deal that's what's the most amazing thing to me that the border is still only -- -- don't get. Think that the CEOs already lost credibility. Three weeks ago and I didn't. Paul -- on the things that they settled on the the fact that it left all of these KGB sides on every single market looks bad he couldn't get any pro tools already be in the stores. The fact that hundreds of thousands of consumers and just stopped shopping. So he could well go out if there's a good note that stock price -- The consumer has. Either -- may as being hand because of the own pocket number one -- a long term -- on -- by the two months -- may. And I do feel whether employees are actually I had to. Good for -- Jeff -- -- -- certainly you know what I I here's what I'm hoping and I'm sure you feel the same way let's hope that next week will put our phone lines again so we can all talk about how it finally was resolved and people are gonna get back to work. And people are going to be able to shop and their favorite store. They are have a super weekend let's get one more Colin and that's -- -- in the morning right. Good morning I'm just consume are now shut the show us market and the prices are higher but the quality of the -- is very good -- why is that but it represents. But -- the most represents. Profit sharing but that's just more about. Profit margin and I think that's where the people -- I'm not going back to work is because it determined to go into the Stanley -- cooperation. And I I question the best because of -- bad it is not too many corporations book that really bad this court that that he has witnessed people. So so -- you're essentially even though this hurts you a little bit you're in favor of the employees continuing to do is just because you support them and and essentially that extra those extra benefits that they were able to get there. Yes I think they are very private industry model and a lot of people should look at the model and an -- grab and go against petitions they shouldn't really be in this favorites speak out about it rather have. A corporate CEO speak out about it that a politician grandstand it. And and it -- -- and I think that's an interesting point -- -- obviously consumers have been hurt by this weather -- inconvenience or higher cost. But there are a lot of people that say look these these employees they you know its stance for certain model business and I can respect that you know just the fact that you say OK look this is how I want business to be done. And we all agree with that don't we I I listen I I think every single business should take a look at this. These were happy employees so happy that these people have stood on streets for four weeks. And taken their entire their entire lives into their own hands here.
