Stain variant came with you here on a Thursday morning in in the night. -- in debate this morning trying to determine which should be our lead story we had two very good candidate for lead story today of course there's talk about these Eric Cantor. Situation -- and it is the civil war in the Republican Party. Hey John absolutely convinced he is happening you do you have convinced now that wouldn't happen robbery at. Our sense that turned out to talk about that I guess that's going to be coming later in the program right as we did make a decision to strategic decision. To open up with a conversation regarding Iraq I thought this was -- the great importance because I'm looking at oil right now. Or wheels up a dollar or one point 5% who's just today. And -- -- six -- his big move up yesterday. In this of course this is strictly a result of what is going on in Iraq. It is and you know what it's all speculation I mean -- -- obviously we all know and of course this is how oil. Trades -- you know it's nothing it's this happened yet it's in anticipation of what may happen and certainly doesn't help that. And that these extremists have taken over one of the biggest oil fields. I'm not that we get a comment on the north area there they're coming from the north down in northwest in their coming and it it would appear as if it's setting up for big battle in in Baghdad. Very well in fact this morning I heard. You know some of their leaders. Are saying. But it to where we are charging to bank -- right right so on you know in the meantime. The government there is asking the US for help. Yes in the US they're asking United Nations and -- that really. A practice round question what should the United States becoming. As a result of what is occurring in Iraq would like to hear from you 68680s. Or text -- this is really taken a backseat. You know the last couple years. Iraq's. It would -- in Afghanistan with boulder for our ground troops out of Iraq. You know we thought that that Melky was going to be able to hold their zone. Doesn't appear so bullish news that a lot of time we lost what 4500 boys of yes we do here and not and that's just how many die over -- -- time not to mention in the 20000 injured. In -- -- money in the regular honey Wheeler put lives in money over lives -- any day but let's just talk about that did dismiss your dollars that we spent in the country. I don't think there are many Americans and will watch -- tax line deceive them and there's going to be many Americans were gonna say let's put. Boots on the ground now they can do airstrikes very -- that could be you know that that could be. Just does not just expected it to be very effective dispute. -- strategic -- -- is now well I think you know there was there were pentagon meetings yesterday and it sounds like right now percent to that is. Hey you know. What we'll do we -- from here but you're you've gotta you gotta take care office. The unit getting a guest on this topic -- league yet anybody amateur you know Wall Street Journal said pretty good covered on fox and Kerry you know everybody's covering it there's a myriad of opinions as to what should be done. In I guess we're just have to wait and watch and see what -- think in the end this could cost us where do you think those those oil prices can go out here one of six now. And really got ugly. You know we we saw 140. In the past. It back into doubt you know what's what's a -- guess we'll skip the practical five dollars. Five dollars a gallon. Looking for gas -- in and then -- you look it would does -- -- home heating oil and my people that are heating careers who you know you know the -- you look locally here in the United States. You know Iraq goes down and you lose that oil production that has more of an impact in Europe. And it's going to the United States. You think that a country like France would be more involved in something practices post the United States they are eating pastries and drinking wine yes. I predict it to do Richard -- I want it -- you -- that lasted at least -- he would step up and take care of anything right but they should and they show like this is that this is going to have a much greater impact on France and Germany in Europe. Then it would. Get over there the problem with this is that Italy seems to come down to the same thing that that. Out regardless of who gets their oil from there. It affects the entire market analyst at global market term price -- Florida. This thing is if -- if Iraq goes down Saudi Arabia can make up for a lot of it you know eat -- various other oil production can come on line. If if Iraq were to go down in terms of oil production. Which is the saudis feel about this by the way. Maybe they're just about money -- there and this is just stay out of the air right. Standing here we have Wanamaker money after tracks -- -- I know I DNA and frankly it's to their eyes are just -- idea DC united decisive back and say you know. Take ourselves up right knock yourself out we yeah we barrel warm a lot more money right. 106 today as we speak -- you know you'll be able to tell if you're trying to figure out what is going to happen to watch the stock market. Stock markets and -- indicator as to how severely this escalates if this is gonna escalate and and become. You know. -- Iraq. You know another Middle East major Middle East confrontation. You be looking at fifteen to 20% stock market correction it happened in a -- -- that happens in a week well we were down yesterday we started down today and got her points you know what I mean. Where we started down again today. They don't love it. Belts just adding air base just little dealer base are standing off don't you think right now -- -- you know president does rang newly what do you guys think these units that should 68680s. Or text I'm curious to hear what everybody. Has to say I mean I'm looking at it from financial and business statement pointed. In -- look it. Higher oil prices you know that the problem higher oil prices it's it's like attacks. You know it is just like it and everybody -- that's right you pay when you go to the growth story and you everywhere gasoline -- You pay when you jumping to a -- when you lean years trying to buy a plane to -- just right it's a global. Taxing -- gonna stay when you try to heat your home in the fall you know just is it hurts you all over. 686 case. Text number. Now the -- it is not all of -- -- the consensus is number one stay out of Iraq and number two where's the keystone pipeline and Lotta people saying over and over you know boy. -- would we get our oil elsewhere let's depend on that and and a let them fight it out and stay out. Nuke and -- -- I mean Davis preview -- unite doctrine yeah minority we did joke is an hour that we missed our opportunity there didn't -- But you know over and over again and you know -- wouldn't get so many years served in rock for tours retired -- 100% disabled. Don't go back. You know go back in -- places you know. And and you know. Airstrikes maybe he says but you know you know that nobody was put boots boots on the ground you know. All right let's take a look at a local company you see it is you're driving down 120 years he vets signed for Skyworks Solutions yes I do. With stock of Woburn base that's in Wilbur. Base Skyworks Solutions and rose after -- capital raised its price target to 54 dollars a share from 51 dollars a share. The firm currently rates the stock -- As do analyst at Needham company Raymond James. They recently reiterated a strong buy rating with the 55 dollar price target on June 3 skyworks said. It anticipates current quarter revenue of 570 million dollars that would be up 31% share a year ago. And in 19% increase from last quarter produces analogue. Semi conductors that's the business that they -- in. Today the share prices skyworks SW KS trading at 48 dollars and eleven cents. -- can now. He actually take a look at some of the numbers or reported this morning let's do -- jobless claims last week up 4000 to 3171000. Not a bad number -- not a bad number at all affect class that was revised up so. Retail sales while we were up for the fourth month in a row. It it mixed so we were up three tenths of a percent. What to make of that. And I mean the positive news is we were up. The bad news is that we were not like. We -- should be. Let's gonna -- -- second half GDP we -- at numbers like that parity unity retail sales numbers aren't as strong position some folks are starting to revise their original GDP numbers are ready you know we were what three points or something like every remember -- -- -- -- -- two point eight yeah I I think you'll see it because -- he had minus GDP in the first quarter. Suddenly to talk to. That's -- -- group from it is getting totally three quarters to recuperate and so you're looking at the end I would these prizes for Tutu and a half that it that would not surprise me at all. Couple other things ever shop at Restoration Hardware. Yes I do you and everybody else their stock today up 12%. They're earnings tripled. Their earnings in the last quarter triple. And the Restoration Hardware fields stock in this company just a public couple years ago. 2012. It's an eighty dollar stock today trading up nine dollars or twelve point 6%. In the volume is heavy normally on an average date him. There's about a million shares of restoration or hardware that changed hands today there's 3.2. Are so what what happened what they do weigh your options whether they're popular. Mean you know people like. Yet what is it furniture. It's lighting for teachers are not so strange thing. I was leaving the house -- Monday and and and leaving early in -- Obama called him and I said there's a package on the front porch. He went out it was eight or nine. Restoration Hardware catalogs. But the mailman we have to do you think I went out with Ramallah VA. -- that that's it was a foot a foot of so Arnold what are -- on it was -- -- -- we only shop there may be once a year or erosion and on into I didn't and certainly again on that no no. To -- on their mailing list like that that's a big meal analyst for sure so the. Spends his accent then limit. News -- use their stock price down. 50%. 83772. That if some inflating. Issues they did didn't they just get some idea of some really -- are retiring. And the the old. Bill guard is like the way to companies and run. A lot of in fighting recently they've had from the pits. If he gave the answer to who she pardon me at. A and it they share a bit there and on this at that that would mention where yes he did their agency we used -- words that. He says that women should Wear them and that was for example read between lines and this was a 77 dollars where is it and thirty cent -- They also missed in the stores. Are still popular now well we actually went through all that they had the problem and he this year problem well. I think -- -- popular. On the just I think there are a lot of competitors out there who are not charging 89 dollars for appear you know the pants that's the lament -- 89 dollars or jeans last turkeys at ten bucks. It is not a marshals they have clear threat. There. And -- are you guys also noticed they had like Eagles on the rear ended. Relished her right to what they look like if I can publicly in -- Now I think every answer to I think there's not as Zhuhai. And I am someone who is in a -- Europeans -- today -- by Lou I own about two or three and I probably own. Twelve -- yoga pants no joke because like I worked out and in my life as an alternative. I I. Remember David what can -- -- its view. I forget the name and where well I I have a number of new balance you know opinions -- line of but there's there's an -- Jordan helped me our intern Jordan -- here and and I'm asking her. The premise of what you're saying though is -- you Wear them every day -- both -- is there really different between the three that you have and the other right in the answer is no I'm not buying eighty -- 89 dollar payment because I've found -- -- in Asia and anyone to my needs like buys based on the brain anymore yeah always based on price. -- me like -- I don't know the growing need to have Lulu lemon it's -- I minor based on prop. Just based on price decline at all because I want him to hold up and I want to be good is that where Arabs aloft and that Washington a million gazillion times. But having said that. I found out that there's other brands out there that I didn't pay nine dollars for a bit. So when you lose you're brand loyalty after the well after the fact that women are fat. I didn't love that they went Interfax -- that -- -- And I fired. Up. Definitely I'm my only point is if I see Nike ideas under -- right in a row -- and there all sized medium which I am I'm buying the cheapest form. That's it now fighting a brand loyalty for items that. I don't I'm not sure there answering that's what I'm saying I don't amber and loyalty when I -- -- -- force one is the best quality holds. And if it's cheaper than I would not by a decrease. So. Phil Mickelson. The figures I we in on this conversation no -- no positive outcome of that option for me Phil Mickelson. Teed off two hours ago for the US open. And he had to have been an epic that right. Does the SEC said oops we probably shouldn't mention it is named an inquiry as he has nothing to do Phil Mickelson call for -- adult. Bald eagle pretty good -- -- generally considered most people hoping wins the US open this year he's generally considered a good citizen I think. Among. Americans and the the he get drawn into this hole. Insider trading investigation schooling that investigation. As a at least Carl Icahn is on yet. It had to do shares of Clorox. And it had to do one -- bodies. And in Las Vegas did knows icon and they all -- known for. -- but the other two guys were treating and apparently Phil Mickelson was now. At -- about says it and I don't know -- he -- Vociferously. Defending himself yet. OC. Site but having said that Phil Mickelson has been cleared yet so. Scofield was not clear. Is what's gonna happen whether casinos. The state is ready to give MGM casino license in Springfield. But this story gets a little more complicated time. So yesterday they took. Just. Exploratory vote the commission did TC if they would vote in favor of the MGM license and the answer was overwhelmed. So I allegedly V the votes tomorrow. But in the meantime they've had to have a little chat within GM because of this little problem and that's that the ST he. He's trying to decide if they speak. In court looking at. Weather and a lot there should be vote to repeal that's the scene if it would be constitutional to put it on the ballot and that's later this month he took their right so they're gonna make that to me only -- next month I don't remember that it was June 7 yeah. It could be. -- -- essentially ruling do coming yes -- a ruling dude come out of the SEC as to whether or not. This can go on a ballot in November that's not repeal. And the problem now is most Massachusetts residents would vote to repeal game. Well obviously according sort of what polls look like right up -- catapult AP. That earlier. So. If your granted the license so if MGM was granted -- license then within thirty days they have to pay an 85 million dollar licensing -- So -- refundable nonrefundable so what they're working out with the commission right now is. If the if they granted the license they won't pay the -- But if yesterday she comes back and the FTC says it's not constitutional and we will not be voting on it -- they'll have five days to -- The 85 dollars. Is yesterday she comes back and says it's constitutional. And we're gonna put it on the ballot in November. Then they continue to retain their license and go until November without having paid the licensing fee. If the state. Does not overturn gambling. And they will have to pay licensing fee. They're saying we will have held on we will stayed with Kia until November so we're gonna -- So now they're trying very -- that can bank gambling commission is trying to decide if that's a good idea. Is it this is just did a story that is it's a situation that hasn't been handled terribly well probably should've had. A referendum. On gambling from the very and a top right into it because this was something that was passed by the state legislature. Without you leave without all of us having an opportunity to vote on the right and is a big -- big an issue -- relief. Voted on smaller issues I mean we get a referendum if -- call on whether or not liquor store our grocery store should be allowed to sell liquor right. So if you have a if you have a referendum. On match. Why did you have a referendum. On. Whether you're not the -- the going to allow casinos in your state. Because there were too many special interest groups involved in guys on Beacon Hill -- in total control in a -- happened right. So now here we stand with this whole issue going on and you remember very. The very beginning as they started this process of these different casinos bidding for. These opportunities. We got out of Vegas we spoke to him and he said. State of Massachusetts. Is too stringent. To make this work as a business for some of these these gambling operation he told -- months ago months -- casino owners were gonna pull out the reason they're so steadfast in coming in here is that there's so much money. Sure you look at the wealth. With the New England. There's a lot of money that could end up in those casino and we we hear looked down in Connecticut and so we think while this is saturated -- you know but that's not really true from their point of view this does not look like saturated part of the country and in fact looks like a gold mine Mikey sent. But the problem is that we -- it's a difficult now that I'm a little perhaps. Are still looking for the not a trivia question coming up and we're now are we joined -- at least. You know I've talked about this -- group the Eric Cantor story was huge it is in its it has. A long and there's a whole lot associated with the for the future. Well and and there are some that speculate that this is. A bad thing for the Republican Party in that it's gonna lead to a civil war we're joined by Lisa -- from Bloomberg News. She's gonna help us understand how that could be possible piece -- good morning. So the Josh green from Bloomberg wrote that with Eric -- lost the Republican civil war is about to explode do you agree with that assessment. I can't I do agree with what Castro they're Republicans that there had been some reports that. You know the Republican civil war was over and you know as that was -- Republicans had -- and I think. Those -- -- that he would keep party's demise have been greatly. Overstated. Do you think that air cantor will run as a write in candidate he's a lot to do that in Virginia. Now I mean I think he's said he's not really leaning towards doing that. He has said that Nate and didn't catch and open. Yeah I think that it's pretty pretty unlikely. But certainly there's going to be a lot of people watching back. Watching history and I think is can plot is as freaked out a lot of other Republicans in the party and I think. Probably the top person -- the most nervous right now thundered at Cochran who of course is running. Against bad and a competitive primary candidate that he can keep party challenger he's a senior senator and he. It was forced it will run off after he failed to. Get a big enough margin as a victory over at this. This party calendar and you know so he's some -- you can bet that his people are watching the trial -- mr. Eric Cantor a lot pretty quickly. When is that primary you know Lisa. To the Cochran -- him coming every cricket Lisa. People are saying that what happened on in Virginians that just not enough. Republican mainstream Republicans came out to vote in that this was about low over -- voter turnout. -- verses are strong Tea Party. Right that is one of this series there's you know there's several people are saying a lot of different things out why. Eric Cantor -- and probably there are a lot of -- -- -- but it. With that seem scary that he was on and one thing that people are seeing a lot of particularly establishment Republicans is that the polling was shocked that they. Over estimated the turnout which of course what you're getting your questions. But I think -- is clear is that they definitely underestimated the challenge. I mean. He spent five million dollars on this race and the question is where did all that money go to 11. Theory at least as my colleague here Bloomberg hasn't had a history that they have that day is that Eric -- -- aired more than out of that. And in none of them spoke directly to voters and then many of them were negative attack -- and we actually went. Broadcasting that it is in damages skate rat of course with his opponent who want. -- Natalie it was actually giving -- more airtime. On an ironic twist of his own -- He had -- should win his race against his fellow college professor. He has parents typically very Republican. And to pray republic strongly Republican district so he. I heard this morning. There was that term congressman speaking anonymously saying. He's a seven term congressman he's a Republican. And that at this point he's feeling about this is there's no more compromise. That from this point forward he and he he was eight moderate and he said from this point forward. I will stand my ground because this is essentially going to be like a war. -- -- do you think that is going to be this sentiment because there's a lot of these what we're calling mainstream Republicans who were worried in the future that they may lose their positions. I think a lot of he's -- Republicans are pretty worried I mean this is something that we've been watching out there. What he hasn't that he hasn't -- mr. straight to this this. Even earlier I was even if he doesn't -- -- party has been going through this battle. And I think a lot of the party officials were hoping that it -- it would be over this year they would. It kind of waste either sort of bring the Tea Party element of the party into. Into the mainstream of the party and thereby avoid these contentious primaries. And -- in the past best but I think this. -- shows that there are at least anecdotally organist continue. And one thing that a lot people are watching what's gonna happen in 26. Right that that was my next question I was gonna ask you connect warned Republican Party win the White House. That is a question on everyone's mind and I think there are a lot of people who are worried about -- talk to you yesterday attacked Ari Fleischer who of course was. President Bush's spokesperson and he. Is -- -- is -- really worried about one area that you looking at Latino voters are growing share of the electorate. One at -- in. Congressman camcorders race. Let this issue of immigration and gave -- hit him pretty hard on -- and catcher was no. Great champion. Doing country a comprehensive immigration bill. But he still is with -- on on that issue in the election so folks like Ari Fleischer and other. Mean -- Republicans are worried. That as a result of members of their party we're worried about challenges we'll take a harder line position on immigration and and that will end and that will force. Republican candidate to between sixteen primary to take those positions. And that will be an ill equipped for the general when they're really gonna have to win over Latino voters. Romney -- that group by huge -- 41. Point. And that really you know that hurt him in the general election. And those voters are also the reason that much attention paid but you know voters is not only back there growing demographic group. But also that there concentrated in some pretty important state so places like Florida that are possibly importantly -- can relax. Her. To be really etched into watching you be nice to see if the Republicans can turn this into a positive but it -- now seemingly -- -- -- Yeah I mean I think there's the party as a number of issues that there has to work out.
