This is the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and sharks are now. You're exclusive look at business and financial news affecting your day you're simply your world. Stay informed and up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and chuck Exxon. British lawmakers are scheduled to vote tonight to hold its second critical vote on prime minister Teresa's base. Planned to leave the European Union and Boeing. Continues to be in the news and believe me they would rather not be tiger body at Sperry and Mike with you hear it to Tuesday morning. And yes. The fiscal there's going to be a vote tonight at 7 PM London time which is around three 3:3 PM 3 eastern time. So we're gonna find out before the market closes whether or not this passes. It's not expected to. Now I mean the last vote which really this vote has not changed in the deal that's on the table really has not changed all that substantially since the last vote. The last vote lost like 230 votes so generally I think this deal is not. Really expected to pass I think the real question is whether or not this. And the marshaling deadline gets extent. That and that's something that they'll be voting on the next few days here. I still think hard Rex it is not likely but I think that this march 29. Brew exit date is a pretty soft at this point. With the problems I guess would be there's no trade agreements in place right so you could have. Important items like medications and things like that hung up the border. If they don't extend that march 29 that I mean this is the completeness I mean you have. Pretty large businesses in the United Kingdom stockpiling goods because they have no idea what's happening even end of it I mean you've got. Scenarios where individuals are you going to grocery story and loading up on canned goods because they have no idea what they Wheeler would not be able to buy economy. Would win. If we get to march 29. And they vote to extend it does the European Union have to accept that oh no they don't but I am I. Keep going back to incentives right and what incentive does the European Union to say. Have to say no we're not accepting an extension and you must just lead the European Union with that deal. That seems unlikely right if anything they would say yeah go ahead and extended but for now you're still part of the EU and we're gonna enforce the rules. I arrow thing Greta I mean I am thinking about how I don't know say that's I guess there's there's a lot of yeah not a bad blood between the French and the British India back 500 years age they don't like. They don't pay again you know if you're the let's say you're younger who's trying to hold this whole thing together and you've got. You've got issues in Eastern Europe where you they don't want to resettle refugees you've got to obviously the brats to vote coming. I would think that you're doing. Everything your hand in in your power to save face on the wreck to deal but. If the British won a delay it and say hey we'll try to figure something out by July instead. I think the EU would be a pretty tough spot Tuesday note that. So we will learn more today at approximately 3 PM the total to the ad that's the problem this is there are seems to be in a limited number of different scenarios that could happen. With this stretch of voter read every time a new vote comes out there's Noam additional clear day it is just a little bit. Terrifying to try and forecast what's going to happen with the European economies given us. Boeing shares down another 5% today trading 379. Dollars this year. I believe now about 47%. Of the 737. Max jets have been idled when you look at the global. Lee you hate just title there leaked this morning. Bowling and how they recover from this and what's the what's the status. Today the status is its. Very very early. In terms of figuring out what happened with this plane. And unity they have to do a complete revamp. At this point I think you really have to go in and speak to the public at this point and come out and say hey. This was the honest issue that seems to have happened here this is how we are correcting it because at this point if it's not just countries ground in the fleets. I talked to a lot of people who say I wouldn't you feel comfortable put my family on a 737 Max airplane display until they knew. Reverse that to believe. Then they're going to be faced with continuing issues I was looking at some statistics earlier. I think about a quarter of Boeing revenue is now coming from the 737 match released forecast that temperament. 60% of all Boeing sales come from commercial jet sales so I mean any sort of reputation damage here would be. Damning to to Boeing's business aware of it they were down 5% yesterday another 5% today is a 10% in two days. That's going to be 130 doing it thirty billion dollars for the Merck and mark happened two days. Caution I have is if you look at the two countries. Where that he had to corrections. Question whether the the pilots are up to American standards support standards you know I I feel that way with the October crash I am not sure about that but if you actually go look at Ethiopian airlines. Safety record. I know it's in it's a developing country and we knew we typically would associate that danger with the aid developing countries airline but this is an airline that has been around since pretty much the end of World War II it makes up. You know 5% of the GDP VQB it is they'd be big deal. And generally speaking I was looking at the track record. Detractors pretty darn good. They compare to a lot of big US airlines there about the size of west jet in Canada. It's a big airline and I would be surprised if their pilot's words you know incredibly well trained but you're right you know we haven't seen these trash is happening. In the United States with American pilots are Canadian pilots are European pilots of the there's that is definitely that potential there. And but I'd imagine if you had to crash a state. Say one of the crashes was in Toronto in the other crashes in JFK. Then I can't imagine the FAA wouldn't pull these planes probably not. They probably would have at this point. I think Boeing is facing the type of PR nightmare that BP was facing. Was that seminary years ago. It is isn't the type scenario where you're gonna have to come out the American public and make being being promises. To change what you have done here regardless of what you know regardless of what the researchers find was the issue. Even let's say it was there. That probably still means about Boeing didn't do a good enough job training new pilots via two planes that went down with a six month time period. You're taking your family on vacation later this month have to ask. Did you party check to see kind of playing again not just hit 738 so. Should be did there it's not senator's announcement I did there's there's not. There's only what 350 of these planes actually in service well that were in service before these crashes and now about half of them have been grounded so. It's not like there's a whole lot of them that are out there right now but they're putting to the manufacturing 57 month. C and C that the fleet is going to be growing substantially over the next few months and years. I checked this morning I have a flight next month and parity check today and I'm also not on Macs but I'll tell you would you change slightly fewer. Well like you know only a I don't know. It's a tough question. Eight you know it it's it's. IE. And night he may have to admit it might change even though you're even with the the accidents you've had. You're a lot safer on 737 Max and you are getting into an Cooper car. Are you hear your odds of having it death. Are greater in in a car in the yard 737 Max but he is our poll question today would you let your family line. On a Boeing 737. Max. That's our poll question you can participate in the poll by visiting our website financial exchange showed dot com. Or you can Texas with your thoughts on that topic. Our text number is 63566. I must tell you I'd I've voted in the poll and I said I would not side upset Arab I guess I'm. Being. Intellectually dishonest parity voted and I said it would not get around 737 Max but you might go to change your flight in find out there's tremendous cost associated with. Doings in it's a southwest and American I believe the only two US airlines with 737 max's in there in their fleet right now. I am betting that by the end of this week they've got special policies on people who wanna change their flights without paying a penalty. I would think right at me you just make sense. Is there are people that are are nervous about it I mean they're they're gonna have flights that don't you know planes. If this is such a big PR thing that you're gonna have flight attendants and ate canned a flight attendants. If they have concerns about safety issues on a plane. Yeah they are not going to be penalized they're not allowed I don't believe they're allowed to be penalized by the airline if they refuse to fly. I haven't seen any pilots come out and say anything either in favor or against the plane's have you. I have not and I I kind of doubt you will. I feel like they try and keep out of the keep that in news when it comes to the sort of thing. Sites. I wouldn't be so I wouldn't be surprised if you so you know if Clayton mr. commands is. K we haven't heard any different mechanics unions are. That's I mean eight a big big PR nightmare right now end. The promise it takes forever to get these to get these things research I mean I know their complex accidents. But we still don't have any real data from the October crash of last year's I would expect there were not gonna get anything from the Ethiopian air. Crash in 20 you know this summer at the earliest. And whatever they have they're not. They may not be sharing this but these are brand new planes that's the thing to remember and I are that planes that are twenty years old I think that's mistake I think that's what's gonna change I think that. Given that they were true these accidents yet you know oftentimes they don't really disclose what the details were that that's going to be changed I think they're gonna have to come and save this is what happened this is why it happened this is how we've changed. Tucker you. Care to weigh in on this your wife says Dion and go to Florida for though her for a week in and take my son and your son. To Florida on a 737 Max were do you weigh in on that. Yeah my gut means in the direction of this was due to pilot error. Both scenarios but that being said. You know if I have the choice. And pro the you know be cautious and probably avoid displaying just in case of wasn't a pilot error. Well and I think that's a good point I think when people are both like Michael York book your tickets. And so you were checking to see I had already booked my tickets I was checking to see. But Tucker. Hasn't booked tickets eager to see people like like I can't imagine why anybody would book a flight on a 737 Max if it caution extra hundred bucks to eagle on 737 I do it now. Right yeah you're eager to take a the older plane with a better chart track record dramatic scientific viewpoints here you can be sure that all the airlines are. Putting weighed more. Stress on looking into these planes when they're getting off the ground so the likelihood of a pilot air crash on the 737 Texas after a second crash a lot these days but then. Yeah it it's tough that we don't have any real data on what policy it is now I gotta that I I never even check what. Plane I'm on when a booking a ticket out you know we are you can check that. A strain on their way of booking that no attention or no I didn't neither but I will now. Material that idea absolutely will now and I know my dad when he used to travel a lot there were certain planes you wouldn't travel. He is the huge book around certain contract. For variety of reasons would you let your family flying a Boeing 737 Max that's the poll question financial exchange show dot com. When we come back we're talking about how Americans are moving abroad for health care would you do it that's next. Unaffiliated hi everybody it's very are strong from the financial exchange and I'm joined by Jake to Lee who's the executive vice president leader bank. Were talking about SBA loans you know we hear a lot about SBA loans small business loans Jack. But I don't think people really understand. How they can be used and why they're so valuable to the small business community. They spare yet we have been really focused on providing small business lending to local communities and local business owners. And the programs that are available power very helpful so we Europe preferred SBA lender the what that means is that. We can quickly make decisions and under rates small business loans in house. And it can be used for right purposes for small business owners give us an example. Well one example that recently happened was there was a restaurant in Cambridge when I was growing very rapidly they are always full occupancy. And the space next Jordan became available and so they wanted to. Take on that space needs capital to sort build out. The restaurant. And you know was about a 300000 dollar loan. About it how many years did have it back typically these types of loans vary anywhere between five to ten years lots of time. So you know we were able to quickly make that. Underwriting decision provide in the capital expanded rexrodt world tremendously them as is one it is one of many examples in Whittier landscaper or. Professional services you have loan officers that are available to blog talked of small businesses we have dedicated small business lenders. Another high tech we got from finally bury you remember the old TC can't remember flying with my mother. And her not wanting to get around DC ten that was supporting my dad would. Both the captain of the stewardess came out at doctorate in both informed her that they had children at home. I would fly on the 737 Max in that would allow my family too as well. That response is in direct opposition. Two what are poll results are thus part talker because according to our poll results and financial exchange showed dot com. 68. Point 4% of our listeners would not fly them there seven Max. And that's gonna hurt those airlines eight you know your booking on an American played here I think united has some of those planes and southwest has of those planes. Those airlines are gonna get hurt by the year year ago is somebody's got to go in and who's loyalists southwest customer. It's as Ellis like southwest and procedural options 737 Max. They're gonna ballot they're gonna go on American or whatever the alternative options going to be. The justice up than Boeing needs to address quickly and with the Ken Beatrice. But there's something you can do quickly. I mean you can at least come out and say look we do not yet know what the issue was the cause these accidents but. We're taking every step to retrain and train pilots more heavily and it'd. Just be honest with people and saying they were making adjustments to how these planes are manufactured or. Decade get into some details can they at least have a suspicion ray and it had six months to look into it the last crash was. This one was this crash happened in a very similar fashions right after take off. Certain they at least have censured it and maybe it's hey we've we have addressed some issues with our software and we need to retrain. This many pilots and we are starting off with that to answer a lot of rumors out there course some saying software's being Acton. Well kind of you know extraneous rumors but who knows they usually we may find out dated may lose the Russian hackers. Op that notion that health care outside United States could be good as well as cheap. Is a 41 too many Americans at nine million Americans living outside the United States to. Yeah I mean there's a lot of them people that look at this and say. We knew we know that health care in the and it states is much ray yeah out Medicare covers a lot of things but a lot of people. Aren't eligible for Medicare yet to or maybe you're more concerned about the leader in life care in the long term care which can be really expensive and isn't covered by Medicare by and large. So there are a lot of you know cheaper countries that people who go to the live in this this article you're mentions pan Aman and and France for some some health care operations but there's a whole list that. Get the organization is who is that puts it together it's. Good Indian getting hip replacement her open heart surgery. For about twenty cents on the dollar relative to costs in the US. And people that are taking advantage of people who are uninsured and a few bucks in the bank in its international living ports again this beat index. The top ten countries to live as a retiree outside the United States it looks that. You know vis and residency options health care climate cost of living and that's the this final score in the top ten that they had. Panama was numbered it number one followed by Costa Rica Mexico Ecuador. Malaysia Colombia Portugal to root Thailand in Spain. And I think that I mean mainly that's all cost of living it's an area there but it points out that you know Panama largely has. US and European trained doctors in a much lower cost eleven. If if it's HD in their more people retiring outside the USU history is a big to retirement destination due talked to a lot of people would have done as I I haven't run into a lot of people but it doesn't mean it's not happening. If if anyone you know has this experience that got a family member cousin that's. You retired and moved outside the country Texas at 63566. I'd be inch to this year where they went and why did it. Massachusetts. Job gains for twenty teen turned out to be eat fast exaggeration. Think we eat were under the impression that employers added 65000. Jobs last year turned third of that. Now what happened how's that possible but it's not just Massachusetts by the way it's also believed Connecticut Rhode Island. Well it Connecticut Rhode Island never had particular great numbers to begin with but you know Massachusetts was looking like a pretty solid gains in a 66000 new jobs created. Turns out news a lot last but I. I will point out too that this number is still going to be revised third times so. It's all based on the initial polling data that we get from employers. And then you revise it twice before the final number comes out. I mean masters is is I think really dealing with the nation not where we have a batter slowing economy we have very quickly growing but at the we have or review the labor shortage in the state. That's in the media issue. A lot of unfilled jobs. It's not you know Connecticut's got a completely separate issue right they do not have big companies that are attracting talent the state of Connecticut. And based on years. I would say government mismanagement where's masters is just as an issue hey we've grown very quickly. And grabbed a tough time finding new construction managers and engineers and you know highly qualified workers especially with the in the Boston area get out Springfield it's a different story but it actually Springfield going through blue right now. They are but you take a look at their unemployment numbers there in the fourth just patient doesn't compare Boston. Penalized for making a student loan payment early we're gonna talk about that were also gonna take a look at statistics. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the company I'm intimately aware of it. Time now for my whole street watch a look at the market's performance so far today until Darian jug right here on the financial exchange radio network. Wall Street watches brought to five liter bag Peter banks precious metal collection makes holiday gifts great yes. They're selling one ounce and 110 ounce silver and gold bullion coins at all of their locations. And if you buy the coins at any branch they'll gift wrap it for free. Cult leader bank today at 8776917900. Or visit liter bag dot com. For more information member FDIC. And the market would be up today Michael worked for Boeing that is not even news even with ball. And it's moving up so far moved up yesterday tears so enough outweighing the oil obviously the Dow up a lot less than US and 500. Yeah. But let's talk about dust statistics and exporting. Yeah so last ditch fixes that reported earnings and surprise a lot of people apparently stock is up about 27 and half percent right now up to 34 dollars and 41 cents. They reported earnings Cora profit twelve cents a share being accessed consensus estimate of about five cents a share. And most importantly there active clients jumped by 18% in the most recent quarter. So stitch fix which has been here quite volatile is as you well know Barea back in September reached a peak of over fifty dollars a share and and pretty quickly dropped down to below 38 below twenty at one point in December. And this had a heck of between nineteen so far. But the play pos with the do with their reports assistant while we don't know how the future's going to be Ian you know we may or may not do well the fact of the matter is they're growing users. Like 18% active users. And get millions and millions of customers across the country I use. There's I. I'd love deserves this is is a very small company it's about three and a half billion dollar company at the at this price right now so area expect volatility this type of stock but I would. What I would caution I've Dick's Sporting Goods on the other hand is down right now by 8% reaction reported pretty solid Q4 earnings that came mid dollar toy to share which the expectations but dollars six. Sales came in at two point six billion beating expectations as well they're e-commerce sales reps 17%. The big thing that's throwing them off. Today is their tween nineteen expected same store sales growth which came down their expectation now is you're 2%. Specifically the CEO called out and their changes to no longer selling guns in their stores so that's definitely impacting their sales especially when you look at age year over year comparison. So I'll stop moving down now over 9% on this earnings and earnings. Crude oil's trading up 72 cents a barrel at 5751. Golds at six bucks now to 1297. That's Wall Street watch presented by Peter bank cult leader bank today and ask about their precious medal collection gold and silver. By this crappy bank for making a loan payment early not late that early. Yeah I. I love the stories I mean I feel like they come up all over the place this story here where is he is the co signer on a student loan any added automatically being drafted from his bank account. The payments were due and the third of every month acting keep hated line. Basic September 1 and then because of the cycle is bank went through it paid on September 30. And because of that alone company said that they missed payment received two payments in September October. The the so I'm real glad the only time. Really you hear about this stuff all the time the only reason we're talking about this is this guy wrote the Boston Globe to get some attention to it. At which point the student loan companies and weaved the we've the they were penalizing and they're just saying that they went ever release the coast from bullets or just feels like hey. I got you sort of moment are absolutely it's like come on it's just a small. Technicalities hopefully that I made his payments. It weighs in at exactly witness. It's. And it can be kidnapped ask for that BCA they have problems this guy was focal about it. And. Kicked up before us an account in the bank goes out says all were doing they would not. Thanks enough unethical operation in that that's something where. You know a regulator should Cummins a unit called that a favor to fight to an agreement ideally that. How many times have you called the customer service department and gotten answers Lewis there's going to try American Airlines it'll worst is the worst. They'll fly American hero to these terrible customers' knowledge or choice for a lot of places you go these days. That's true that your job of other options to ride your bike the right. Average US price of gasoline jumped six cents per gallon to two dollars and fifty cents. They seem that bad and it's 250 paid at all that it's still. Look it's nine cents lower than it was a year ago. Yeah so it's not like it's gotten terribly expense I don't start to care until gas gets up over three boxing that it starts to actually. The answer to action film that indeed the tank and my new car holds that the eighteen pounds now that's that's been will be in the shop wildcard I think thirteen months ago. That that overall ticket pumped definitely if you know bit morbid to fifty gallon. Not a big deal I mean it's been nice for the past three years it's been under three dollars. Gallon like consistently. Regularly keep and we keep producing world gas that's why it pretty neat you know ten years ago the Arab status by days. You know lose the use by the throat. And the now beetle because we can pump a lot of hurled gasoline and I asked that's been the difference maker. I have no interest in seeing gas prices go back up to four dollars per gallon but presumably at some point for some reason would get back up there. If nothing hostess for inflation at that point just. I've kind of excited to see what happens with. The amount of giant suvs and trucks have been sold the American public of the last five years. Oh trucks through the roof Ford for instance it no longer produce incidents. And now they're offering to what I like about what they're doing is they're saying hey we can tell you if you've got markers injured and day. And cause you to be pre disposed towards diabetes and if you want will include that in your test yet. They are doing some really changed and stuff here weren't they. Where they just acquired where they described by the firms are opening look at I don't think so it. Let's say Euro little overweight eat right and you know your packet on a couple pounds a year. In 23 in the resume only with the main goal of getting access to the genetic results here so well and same thing Indy 300 million they can buy a hole that they won't pry the largest stockholder Padilla almost undoubtedly end. I think at that point and it raised a lot of questions just about you know what sort of it was actually be shared and do you tie back to individuals need to share in the larger overall assessment Glaxo is in here and you working on this sort of thing that it received more of these diabetes types of tests that they roll out. I'd be really inch deceit okay inched just how accurate does it actually predict this earth and you know they've solved a lot of murders straight. Ever stop Todd Steve Kaplan from seeking alpha is joining us now and gas fuel pretty interesting funds to join talk about it let's focus first on the commodity related fund. Ticker symbol is GD XJ it's the enact. Junior gold miners ETF. Touch me about just what sort of mining companies this fund is buying how it might differ a little bit from did the bigger gold and silver mining companies. Right like will basically the main difference is that despite the name junior these are actually a bit capped gold mining and silver mining companies. And the reason why they're so interesting is just like mid caps in many sectors there often overlooked by people who were mainly concentrating in the top names. And therefore aware there is able market of these they tend to gain more in percentage terms just that the midcap 400. Which can be gained more than the S&P 500 whenever there's a US stock market rally in these are mostly companies that have been around for a long time in one form or another. And have a very long track record which enables you to see how they performed in the past. The well this fund correlate to the price of gold as much as say a large cap mining company yours it'll be different since it's made up more of those smaller size smaller sized groups. Well and both kinds of gold mining companies actually will diverge more from gold that you might think and in fact they often leave the price of gold boat hiring lower. And I can serve as useful. Indications the turning point for them they also tend to be more leverage because their cost. Per ounce of getting gold out of the ground is higher so for example of gold as a thirteen hundred dollars an ounce. And a big company can take the gold out for 900 then that's a 400 dollar difference of gold goes up 400 dollars an ounce. They're the profitable for 40800. But here. If it cost 11100 dollars an ounce and they only have a 200 dollar profit. If gold goes up 400 dollars an ounce the profitable from 200 to 600 and so it would triple and so they tend to have bigger moves both up and down compared to the larger. Sure and obviously pressing goal really hasn't moved it's gone up and down but really pretty much where it is five years ago today about it. Oftentimes can be a pretty good inflation hedge of reducing inflation ticked up between nineteen or beyond. The second pick you mentioned is another in other fund guy and invesco fund the shipping ETF is that right. Yes sir this is also not well on the on what these two funds have in common is that both GD extra day an NCAA which have honesty shipping companies. And to perform extremely well during their markets and even though. Last Wednesday a lot of people talked about the ten year anniversary of the US bull market. It's probably the case that we began a bear market near the end of August of last year when the Russell 2000. And NASDAQ reached levels which I'm guessing all he surpassed again. And therefore it's very useful to look back at other bear markets because bear markets are much more electable markets. And we can see that both of these sectors did extremely well and has their markets and especially Steve shipping is even less known than gold mining. And the particular value this far there's not that much higher than it's Ben at any point in its history and what has happened is that as you go through a bear market the US dollar it has to drop in commodities and to increase as well as. Other countries outside the US standing you have economies that outperformed the US and many of those countries to a lot worshipping various kinds of goods. Then the US itself. I would guess that the China trade deal is a big risk to this whole thing right. Well you know that's been a lot of talk but if you actually look at the Chinese stock market at the top performing stock market in the world. In 2019 so I think that shows that a lot of the fears over China are mainly in the headlines. When you actually look at the government stimulating the economy there are cutting interest rates increasing loan availability. Then I think that the search for the Chinese stock market is voting very well for the kinds of companies like. GD extra day an NCA. That's had to perform well when China is what China gets going the whole rest of the world is really going to expand as well. And Steve Kaplan seeking alpha joining us there for start talking again the two funds that he mentioned he'd be an act junior gold miners ETF ticker symbol GD XJ. And the invesco shipping ETF ticker symbol SEA thanks for Genesee. Certainly. Edge they I mean yeah I I do hear from people say I'm worried about the bear market and potential for inflation and you know historically at least to commodities have been a good place to hedge that risk. They are. In news for inflationary purposes they can be an effective tool. It no dividend yield one SE SEC limited I didn't see with a look and attitude. Nothing nothing there. But a lot of times those are like the old then I'll p.s you know the the decline. The Dallas down nineteen points yes and he is up twelve points and NASDAQ up 37. Crude oil trading at 61 cents a barrel gold is up silver's up my gosh there than to speak on the right way ten year treasury note yield. He's down to two point 63% that should be enough to get across the fence in my house. Will be back with more on the financial exchange stage. Hi this is chuck and Mike from the financial exchange we're talking today about planning for retirement it's a big thing that you need to plan for. And really is the kind of thing that you only want to do once you don't want to have to un retire. Mike one of the things that people have to sort through is discussing a you know what's the aged. France between myself and my spouse. Or am I retiring her we both retiring are already retired. If your spouse is pulling in a whole bunch of income while you're retired it might not make sense to pull your Social Security right away so consider a bunch of factors that a big one is also life expectancy and that. Definitely comes into play with sort of security. In addition to Social Security another item that people have when it comes to retirement pensions. Is that the same type of conversation and same type the calculus the people need to go through certainly there's a lot of calculus there but there's oftentimes an even bigger one with pensions and narrow bit more rare today which is. What sort of survivor benefit to buy and the option to take a my pension. It's not always clear cuts and I would caution here really think about it especially if you have a younger spouse that might be survivor here. Boeing's Mike dashed their shares are down 22 dollars five point 6% were talking about oh and then Tesla. I'll tell you what you want mosques days as CEO art numbers. Hi everybody it's Berrian might with you here it's a Tuesday morning a preacher and the Dow is down 68 points the NASDAQ is up. Nine points what do we know about this UK parliament vote tonight. Little. I think we as we know that it's unlikely to pass at this point. The last UK parliament vote vote that happened on bra exit lost by 230. Votes the U incredibly historical loss. And I think the only thing that I'm relatively confident on his that this individual vote is likely to not pass this evening. To the first vote is that's happening is whether lawmakers will formally state they oppose a new deal Brecht said. But again has about strings attached. Later on they're gonna have the opt tainted due to more votes it looks like and one of them would be to instruct trees and made to seek a postponement of the marsh Twain exit date. That's the only one I think as the likelihood of passing is postponing this desperate to date further. Unlikely that we see any further concessions from the EU doesn't sound like it at this point the only concession that I would see the EU giving is further probes toe postponement because I don't think they want to walk away. With no deal and Iran honorees from their perspective if we can hold this together for a little bit longer probably just increases the likelihood that. The UK's days and members the U. It following week eve her a lot of coverage on this topic they've got a problem with their 737 Max jets. 47%. Of the global fleet has been grounded by countries countries like that year breaches kingdom. All over the world child in Asia Australia well grounded their seven others athletes. United States does not Norris Canada. And the FAA is saying these things fine undersea. A lot of speculation. That the Adobe grounded all round the equal. But with capture. Images the Bowling Green and it showed us. Again if they decide to that all of the Boeing 737. Jets at 77 jets are all grounded. Today it's not a huge implications or 350 of these things in service worldwide. The issue is that this is the means sales driver for Boeing go forward they I think have over 5000 orders these planes there on track to be producing 57 of these month. Believe it's making a quarter of Boeing's total sales so if if they really have as bad PR issued this plane as it seems like they currently have. Than days. Yeah I wanted there's some there's some very big concern this year word. You know Boeing is still going to be in business but we're still going to be here ten years from now but they've got a big PR hurdle to get over right now. Stocks down 10% to yesterday's. You know like I've flying next month you're flying later this month and we both admitted in the first hour of the show that we checked to see what kind of plane recline on. We do you let your family fly out of Boeing 737 Max if you're in what we're asking here folks are going to be very specific. You're about to book a trip you're gonna fly and you're you're gonna fly across the country. And you jump on line he safety couple of those things have gone down in the last few months. And check my flight and you go on to six southwest in you normally fly southwest. And you find out that if you fly that particular route to Los Angeles or wherever it is you're going you're gonna be on at 737 Max which booked a ticket would pay another hundred bucks to go on another airline. Tell you what the way I feel right now I would. Switch airlines and avoid the 737 Max but that's just me maybe you feel differently that is our poll question today would you let your family fly on a Boeing. 737. Max. Thus far 54% of our audience says no they would not let their families fly on a 737. X. That's that in itself just the fact that 54% of our listeners who participated in the poll said that they would allow that's hurting Boeing. But also Michael that's got to hurt the airlines that are using those jets. Most definitely if you if you nested deep about this used today. USA today at a pretty geared. Aren't that deep a few things so first up to 737 Max eight which is the issue plane is not the same things 737800. Completely different planes. Southwest recently started flying from out of Hawaii they are not using the 7378. For those. Flights these 737800. Yes US airlines still these 737 Max. But. If they if US did decide to ground those planes it's not like. Southwest American united country crippling U haul up plenty of other planes at Friday's round it's just. Have a growing portion of their fleet going towards. In the stuff to make the loan payments at least payment or it would be bad for business day no doubt about management it's not like. All of a sudden we'd cede vast cancellations like you do when you giant snowstorm that's half the country. It's a bad start for new plea. There every. Day and leave it that I I I put this PR issue on the scale with the one that BP faced during there gulf oil spill. You know that the difference though Michael news. BP had one issue to deal is a very bad issue and went on for weeks had gamers surely all of the oil spill out of the ground. But the this one. People are nervous about flammable jet gently used to like your music Jesus in. You know the fact of the matter is you're taking greater risk jumping into emperor lived car. January jumping on sept 37 Max at the factory. That. You know people a people have choices right in it you have to get on Macs you can save. Lives themselves. Participate in the pool because the more people participate in the poll. The more now our response and percentages will be its name to exchange dot com also text us 63566. I actually forgot parent flight in August but I think it's way too far wrote to see what kind of plane implying on notice gave go to your book your reservation I'll look at and are now at Southwest Airlines in and it doesn't say anything about the flight. Let's go to the next page. If it'll it'll be on there Michael picture you poke around. Poke around Tucker do your research. I'm trying he taking your son and this is that if they know god knows about shall party could have. And and they'll go with the I. I think Ilan mosque is finally gone too far. And I think he is going to lose views of his job CEO there Tesla owners or their specific Adam. Yeah I mean I think you know yeah last night he had to until last night to respond to the Securities and Exchange Commission yet. About his tweets a couple of weeks ago. In this guy. I know he sparked. And I know he use innovative than you know he's he's made contributions to society and I don't take it that way. Away from. But he's an obnoxious pass. And he's just like beat it to be the CEO. Of a publicly traded company. Is a privilege. And it's not a right you you don't have the right to be that CEO description founded the company doesn't give you the right to be easy you know if you're publicly trading unit to. Play by the FCC's rules and he is not playing by the SEC's rules. And I think the SEC if if if if the SEC has any balls at all. They're gonna go to the board of directors say. This guy is no longer your news CEO and you are going to a point which what do you guys want to be. CEO and talking to the board. He's not capable he just can't keep his mouth shut. And what he's doing and I hope people can appreciate this. Is he's making statements on Twitter. Better falls. And it is influencing the price of its stock. And people are losing or gaining money based on misstatements by mr. mosque. In and again I've been a big supporter Hisham an admirer of some of his work but his behavior pattern. Is it just gone too far and I think he needs to be. I agree with. Everything that you have said about to be his running the company in fact that the company would likely be better off without him as CEO but I do not think that this most recent action gets removed. Just looking at the details of it I think he has relatively good argument that what he said did not. Provide public what you nations say what you base that first amendment rights and just the fact that his argument is hey look the information that I put out there was actually in her earnings report today that is his argument and say I've releasing information and perhaps the language I used wasn't perfect. But we had already released information that we are going to be on pace to be producing 5101000. Cars week 500000 dollars in the air 5000 cars in the year. So I think his argument is going to stand that while it's probably not the right way to do it the information was already out there and public. His other tweet back in what was the problem that we can't just leave it that he said to produce 5000 cars this year they're not going to parties 5005000. Cars produce 4000. That's a law to the tune of 100000. Did that no. Agree it was a stupid thing to do and I think he broke some rules but I don't think the SEC's going to be able to remove him based on that one thing all might disagree. Gave me the baking goat the award. He can't remember Larry Ellison's on board rate Larry Ellison would never use Texas agree that he. Larry Ellison is gonna get a call from the SEC stand us. This is very look at what they did to him last year based on a wave worse offense. They suspect they slapped them on the rest they're knocking her remove the CEO. I think it will aren't as well I think. Chad a few months from now. Yeah ninety days he's got a nine ED window and boys soccer ease out. Coming up will be playing trivia and Austin beat talking about. Immediately hole. It can be. Constructed with the 3-D printer I mean Napoli at the story we're following it's actually today's Wall Street Journal all of that more coming up next on the financial. Chicago. From CNBC's we all know this American Airlines flight attendants call for Boeing 737 Max X to be crowded quote. We are calling on our CEO Doug Parker too strongly consider grounding these planes until thorough investigation can be deformed. While we cannot draw premature conclusion so the flight attendants can attendance yet American Airlines and yet that you said that first down. No they do not need to find these planes that they feel safe they can grind that company to a halt. At weekend and in the EU the US doesn't need to ground flights and the air India flight attendants and ground for them. Weekend. You have to do is Stop & Shop worker signaled strike they voted to approve. The strike but they haven't actually act on strike I don't believe. I believe that just a true candidate they approved a strike the probably personal story. Our guys this week that's all I've New England local unions don't have approved the strikes average guess it's a matter of time stopping chops. They're talking about this yesterday in there a tough spot if you're competing with market basket and all these non union companies I don't know what what they can do here. It's it's not a great first. 83. But you know the V we we course you talk a self driving electric car and at three different tone that's what you're in for that that is what we hit the big critter. It's there's a company and the it's a Texas company. And they say they can produce cars it's obviously a manufactured home but they can produce one of these homes. For 30%. Less than it would cost regular construction. And with very few workers compared to how many people it takes to build a house seat here is. When it kind of extrapolate here but here is the real danger we ran into. When we have such a tight labor market that you'd literally can't find people to build homes we will find technology to change and this becomes a real issue. Down the road win and you re yet actually good at printing you know reply no delegate print to three at this point it's a very new technology homes by DO book is Grey's you know contractor built Allman probably issues. But if we don't have enough contractors to put together new home construction and the costs keep going up in that they point out here that weighting cut out. Third the cost of building a home with the 3-D printing. Well not only that Michael the waste of materials. If you ever go to construction site right new look at the extra lumber that's lying around. Right in it'll wait you don't have to waste when using 3-D technology says the AA got nine they just got nine million dollars in venture capital funding which is not insignificant. So at the average cost to build a home in Austin, Texas is about 400000 dollars estimated being cut 120000. Dollars out of that cost. And IAA you print the home and there's still a lot of stuff that you're in need. Skilled people to date plumbers do everything you need window people for you know frame a lot of different stuff that still needs to get down but it's. You know this could reduce the number of people involved in building home presumably by third even. Now let's think about what robotics system because that's really talking about here rate robotics. And what it's done in terms of the number of people that have to work on a car. You look at number. Look at the number of people working on cart today vs what it was in the in the 1970s yeah and and that's the real that's the real danger here to the American workers Shiites in great that wages have finally started going up for a lot of people. But. This is what can happen and you just like the cost of a television has come down ten fold in the last. Two decades the same thing might just be about to happen with Acosta bill annual. And it could be better quality. Have been. You know Matt that's that's the that's going to be the turning point right wing when you can build a house with robotic technology. And it's a better house like. That you could do the same reference to vehicles right look at the type car the quality vehicle your building 1970s look at it today. The cars being built today are being built by robots races everything is perfect on cars being built today. Well these same thing maybe applicable to houses I'd whip out your crystal ball what's going to be first autonomous vehicles three deeper into who. Autonomous vehicles. I. At least not as fast cases I think it. There there's not enough money being spent if the amount of money being spent on Thomas vehicles. Is measured in the tens of billions of dollars. The amount of money being spent on robot built homes in 3-D Holmes is in the tens of it's true that I would argue that the self driving cars happen a lot more complicated and print now with three different. You know you know a lot and a lot more lives that restive. You know time will tell time will tell. The bull market for the S&P 500 reached ten years in length as of the close of trading last Friday. I folks this is Mike Armstrong and I'm joined state by estate planning attorney top lot ski with your financial exchange quick tip of the day. Today were talking about the top estate planning mistakes that you need to avoid you know Todd so many people create their state plan but they'd then failed to fund it. Explain why it is such a big mistake in what we mean by you know not quite funding your state yeah its it's really huge and you've got to look at it from two points of view one. You're spending money after spending money. To put together an estate plan to want to work your right and if you don't put assets in your trust that you create its not working. In two very important respects. One if you have a revoke Coble trust. And you don't fund it. Well then of course you're not avoiding probate because all the assets would be your name that's a big problem too. The language in that trust is what it's designed to help reduce estate taxes when one spouse dies. It shelters assets in and utilizes exemptions. There's nothing in there. It's not helping you do that nothing shelter so that that's not a good idea and from an irrevocable Medicaid point of view if you want it if you're in case you're concerned about doing that kind of planning can you imagine not funding those trusts. Not only do you have all the same problems that we just mentioned with a revoke double trust but one very important problem you never started your five year waiting period. And so if you create an irrevocable trust don't put assets in in five years goes by and you think your assets are protected from the nursing home. They're not. You better fund trusts it better and it's something that they you know. They see all the time folks starting these escape plans for not buying them public ski in the estate planning experts at Cushing and Dolan. Have written a brand new guide that details the top estate planning mistakes that you want to avoid you can request this brand new guy by calling 866848. 5699. That number again is 866848. 5699. Larry apple is having their big event on March 25 and I think there's speculation that they're gonna unveil some kind of streaming TV subscription would be similar to. I'm thinking in the I don't know this but it would be similar perhaps to. In his own product toward the DirecTV now is a lot of those who lose all that kind of stuff right I would think. That it's going to be more similar to the slinging. And YouTube TV options verses the Netflix and Amazon Netflix Amazon option basically says hey you can rent these movies or you can watch the original content that were putting together as well arsenal TV shows. It doesn't seem to immediately slight Apple's been pouring a lot of money into developing their original content like Amazon Netflix app you're gonna see something along the lines of abuse subscription. With apple to probably looped in this news. Erica. You know would be cool is if you're watching television and rather than trying to scramble and figure out which remote you're supposed to use race he just used her phone. Basically DF my TV today you mean use your phone as a remote control pretty much yes yeah I could totally see that. Did you do that there's a little at an event paddy do that now. Desperate to. You know and apple TV in Nevada busier its monetary on an iPhone now I read Vizio TV it's a Smart app on my phone I can use that for everything montella stream. I use a it was on fire TV stick inciting new phone for that it it yeah it's not the same though as. Having cable remote connector bridge connecting to the Wi-Fi connection and it sometimes just glitches up where's yours yet your hard wired TV remote in just a little bit faster. Magic. I don't know I I'm worried here that Apple's gonna come out with something that is not going to differentiate the market whatsoever if they're price point is awful bored of this subscription is there a are not going to be competitive I think the last few really big releases if you know they had the apple was sick of home hub or something like about that's one of the biggest plus ha yeah. I even. You know Apple's. Music streaming which I know has been relatively successful. Still it just didn't change that market it's expensive dining nothing they did there you know worried did anything Ted change its ought to fire and are reviewing priest previously so. Obviously when apple can do but. I have a hard time believing it and bring it can truly innovative market. We'll say they've got a built in customer base so I think so everything you've built in anything you roll out. You got a built in number subscribers probably go for the yep but it but not you know like the. The subscribers like I'm an apple user but if the product sucks and continues there. I mean it just won't that's I've never purchased. Apple TV box or whatever it is just those guys are vying. Yeah I mean just because it's really not a huge differentiator between. You know you and is on fire sticks to your room crews are the world are cool chrome castings and three and I got no difference and I have the elects a system at home talker you know so. Yeah I'm I'm a loyal apple user if the product is good Britain and so far and he seers and Steve. He is the bruise when was the last great product they hat. The you could argue the apple watch. Line analyze that was actually his though PP does this goes yeah absolutely absolutely that was his brainchild. You know none of the others stuff they've they've come out with this today the apple home feature. That's. Nobody using now look at the it adaptation nobody Houston towards. Nvidia making the league acquisition their symbols and the DEA. Their stock was up about 7% yesterday and they're acquiring. Mellon box technologies. And now and tax I didn't fully understand the reasoning in the logic behind the acquisition. I think it made a fair assessment on aux is a Israeli tech company they really focus more on. Products that serve you beat mainframe computer networks and you know Nvidia I think is trying to you. Get into that area they have a very small business segment that does some work in that area right now but mainly they are a video game company and they've seen that really. Be tied to a lot of volatility with their stocks though. It is a big deal and it is a little bit outside the wheel house of what Nvidia is doing but. If there were they beat out Intel for the steal and I think it could. It could be a good synergy with a lot of their existing business. And you'll see. I United Healthcare is going to required drug rebates going to consumers Lotte. Companies unhappy with this customers of united health are not happy consumers should be ready for your if that's that you work for. A small company in Europe UnitedHealth. As the carrier. You're gonna get cheaper prescription drugs but if you're the employer whose pain big chunk of that insurance premium you're not happy about this announcement whatsoever round yeah let's jump to that let's not jump too far ahead of ourselves here so first off their only require in this for new customers that sign up any existing customers are going to be grandfather in the conditions continued to do whatever they want to the drug rebates but. Just that to give an overview of how this all works a year on health insurance plan and you've got a epi pen prescription for instance. The makers of happy and may offered rebates when you go and get a prescription and and they give that rebates to use the health care provider who then passes that on. To the company that's providing insurance. Now that company can say okay well we can use that money chew. Either via pad profits or we can use that choose lower premiums across all of our customers or weakened or rather employees or we can give that directly to the consumer who. Took the epi pen prescription. And what united is saying is hey now you have to give that to the end consumer. And but only for these new customers and it's it's really not going to impact bat many people. Well it's not an impact that many people in January 1 of 221. But you know go out five years and you know it. I I I just think employers are gonna say geez where point 7% at health insurance what about us him. Greatly adding just logically would you think they. And also if you're shopping for health insurance as a company you'd say well. Geez you'd eat UnitedHealth Stephen holt discount to my employee in under the corporation's. I don't have to buy insurance through UnitedHealth likened by true competitor. One it's not that competitive market and to deal think that. And the trump administration. War and other administration and the road is going to require the sort of in Trump's been talking about it already and usually this is a democratic issue. There the real interesting impact would be whether or not they do it on Medicare. Plans then Medicare plans right now I mean that cost mainly subsidized is the caught the overall premium cost. Where's he said hey it's got to go directly to the end consumer than the Medicare premiums would actually go up pretty consider. Sure they're responsible for trained put out this plane in ways that wouldn't require a whole new training modules the pilots. And maybe Wednesday but it still Tuesday. It let's talk about food delivery service from grocery stores and restaurants. The restaurants I thought the restaurants to signal. It's not terribly profitable as this doesn't surprise me and you can get delivery from the restaurant for three bucks. Day typical delivery charge restaurants cost three dollars and you know it. I'll put yourself on a meal with the market on and he could potentially deliver now. I mean a thing martyrs ordering. Dinner freer you and your wife or would he spend fifty bucks like if you guys ordered dinner in Woody's that it wants to be mindful ways. I don't order permit a decent restaurant not the fun to get a pie that's what sixteen box some like that for a large whatever. I mean even if I'm getting take out like. Sushi yeah probably. Spend fifty bucks in that. Some food news stories high and for me about it to demand on. I'm also not a ordering take delivery from a nicer restaurant that often go its members were right. I mean the margins on David you know restaurant margins aren't that high. Yeah that I don't know their higher than her first serve restore heart. They're they ran 13% but restaurants like and pizza let's say it took Kris that you order pies away with a pizza costs sixteen bucks. Yet depends ergo we usually it's for a narrow range and yet a margin on pizzas unbelievable. It's it's like one of the best in the food industry. Anyway the the they're the food infrastructures. You know crying warm out over it. And they're not grocery stores are crazy about it either bit like that the teapot been around a long time. And then lose an error and yeah I think the real the real question here I am not so worried about the restaurants. There figured out ways to do it and it's I don't see them raise their hands and it would use this anymore. But the grocers are in this interest in position because Amazon has clearly willing to lose.
