Stay informed and up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and chuck Exxon. We're about halfway through the week and we've got a big one today with the Federal Reserve meeting. They're going to be coming out with bear interest rate strategy later today at 2 PM. And they're also can give us a little bit of information we've got to press conference from the Fed chair Jerome Powell. It's going to be coming up at 2 o'clock as well checks out and we've got Christine Dunn from our point strategy in with us today as well Barry is out for the day. We've got talker running the board and perceived to have here thanks so much to have me aren't talking I did what years do my camera just fell well I was wondering what. We are under attack or something. But it looks like we're OK Christine is great to have you here I know we've got a whole bunch to dig into so what we just start with. Little bit on the Federal Reserve they're gonna be coming out with a a statement today and where they're taking interest rates what are what are your thoughts on what what are people generally expecting right now. Well looks like they're expecting. A quarter percentage points on. You know increase it to be the eighth increase I believe since late 2015. And move on and the third this year on but I think a lot of people are kind of wondering what the indicator is going to be going into 2019. What what kind of guidance have we gotten to this point have we gotten really enough guidance as to what things look like heading in the nineteen right now. I mean it sounds like from some of the reports that we've been looking at that. You know as some people are continuing to expect. Additional increases on is then fed looks to try to prevent overheating and particularly as they're watching the quote unquote natural rate of unemployment. I was like that that there's a natural right somehow like you as I say this is the number of people that should be a ambient noise and I voted yes you you and you you should be employed but you you're not gonna have a job it like it it. It's a bit you know. Condescending it seems like but it did what they mean there is what you're never gonna get every one the job you it's it's just not possible. When they're all having a harder time accounting for it aren't they because yeah I just Americans I have aren't looking for work at this point. On and and our maybe you know not on our underemployed and an art being counted in the unemployment rate in the same way. So I think it's a little bit harder to measure as well. And and then you've even got the people that have no begun working in ways that are simply different from the past to the rise things like Hoover an air B&B how to people. How do we account for those people it's not measured as easily as you think at least by his statistics that are government uses so. It's a real challenge I think to sum up. Figure out hey who actually has a job now because says he's used before or was yeah I worked for IBM are worked for GM our work for digital. No you certainly see more people working for themselves and smaller companies its its challenge now. But them are also taking a look at other factors in the economy aren't we as are trying to assess exactly how the economy is performing from. Consumer borrowing costs to wage growth. On serve multiple factors that I think that that'll be giving us some indication on their thoughts on later on today. What when we talk about the Fed raising rates obviously. This is something that potentially is good for savers and that savers are able to get you know higher CD rates higher rates on savings accounts and things like that. But it can be a little tough for borrowers in particular those that might find themselves behind on some debt. Credit card rates go up pretty much immediately as a result of this home equity lines a lot of them are adjustable move up. So you do see some negative impacts there where when you talk with. People on day to day basis do you get the sense that rising rates are a net positive or negative for. I mean I would expect that a lot of people would see it as a negative in terms of their own data realized immediately if their online credit cards to help and get by. But you know I think the other question is how does this affect the housing market. Yes and people have been you know very reliant upon in terms of you know trying to you trying to get a Peter Reynard by homing in getting into buying home is a source Tucker by the way now. Yeah especially in this area I mean it's just so expensive to try to get a house here that's a great image Torre whatsoever and a. One thing that one thing that I've noticed in that housing market is an interest from talking to realtors and people who PM pay attention to these things. It seems like the high end market has weakened a little bit this year. For one reason or another some people who say it's because of the limit of deductibility for state and local taxes you can only deduct 101000 dollars in state and local taxes now. So if you're buying a place for million dollars. You might not be able to deduct all of those taxes anymore. There's there's also thought that hey maybe we've just kind of reached this you know peak where people can't afford more house. But rising rates or another thing that might you know cause a little bit weak. This in home prices here and there. Well and also just kind of access in general I mean it's the entry American I think that's been hit the most it's a tough there it's tough really really hard to get particularly an aunt and an area like Greater Boston so yeah I mean you you're trying to get into the housing market for the first time affordability just isn't there what. It it used to be you you talk even just you you go back ten years. And the entry level market demand OK can find a place for 150 to 250000. And yes it's not going to be perfect and it's going to be a fixer upper but I can get into place for 250000. Even you know inside for 95 he could find places to do that. I feel like that the bar has just moved to like. Entry level is now inside for 95 like 400000 that's entry level and that's really tough if you don't have. A first of all a merry fairway or to people who are at least living together who are willing to help pay for that mortgage. And they've they've got to both be making decent money you know it's if you're only making. Fifteen bucks an hour in between the two review you've got 60000 in income which by the way is the national median. You can apply place inside 128. Yeah and do it. Not to mention appear mean particularly in the northeast but across the US on student loan rates are just so high right not even factoring that in not even factoring nine and you have a problem right in the market that I mean. Now sit ins now are graduating with Ian the equivalents of an entry level house. You know in loans to pay back yeah I mean that's just completely hold them back. So that's going to be something that we watched as we go through the day today we'll continue to keep you updated. But the expectation is for eight quarter percent hike coming. Later today. That's what's going on domestically big thing that were continuing to watch internationally. Progress a trade deals specifically. President trump is speaking at the UN pretty much as we speak he's going to be speaking to the UN Security Council. But yesterday speaking with regards to the administration's trade policies. And probably expected that. Mac get a lot of support from the international community on what he's pursuing right. Definitely not on you know and you know even domestically not really getting a lot of support me in that recent warning from Wal-Mart saying that. You know some of the trade policies that are being pursued are gonna impact consumers' wallets pretty quickly. On just the sheer variety. Definitely not getting support on the Canadian side in terms of reaching a deal with with naff death. And a lot of talk around the fact that it looks like it's only two radio right now going on between the US and Mexico so are controversy there for sure. Let's I wanna specifically look at that deal with Canada because we got some information yesterday from robber like Anheuser the US trade representative. Who said look we're ready to move on without Canada we can't get them to agree to something by the end of the week. And what's interesting here when we when we look at Canada. The case that the truck administration is making for countries like China is that we have a significant trade deficit up north of 500 billion dollars. The US has trade surplus with Canada about eight point four billion dollars I pulled that number by the way. From the website of the United States trade representative Robert light eyes so this is. The US TR their own data saying hey we have a trade surplus. With Canada. The argument that's being used in order to negotiate with China is hey they have a surplus with Alison it's gonna hurt. Then more than it hurts us if if we can't get a deal done. But with Canada we're looking at this and saying look we have the surplus but yeah we can still negotiate for something better I'm. I'm just not sure what the end game is with Canada specifically I will get you know things with China and intellectual property and so forth and I see real issues. With can't announce it and I'm going so. This doesn't just boil down to us wanting Canadian milk you can't be that small right. No definitely not and you know we stand it seems to to lose quite a bit I mean the destruction of the supply chains that have developed. You know particularly with the auto makers. On the fact that Canada is such a big importer of our food and farm products. I mean we do seem to stand to lose a lot and you know it stands to reason then the Canadian to kind of hold tough on this point and not. Negotiate. With something like this I've been skeptical to say that we're gonna get something done with China for awhile just I think the differences are pretty significant. It would seem though that when dealing with Canada. There should be a deal they could get done here it doesn't seem like they're miles apart it just seems like. You should be able to get something done prior to the end of the year and it is indeed get the same sense. But in theory yes that clearly it's more of a political standoffs and it really is an economic one. And so looks lake and this could be pushed into next year because it doesn't look like a deal's gonna happen anytime soon. Let's take a quick break here when we come back who has claimant from Fox Business is gonna join us here to talk about expectations for the Federal Reserve. Later today that is coming up right after this break on the financial exchange radio network. We want to hear from. Stewart Barry to 63566. Designed for those of you who are landlords and used to collector checks. With paper checks are gosh maybe still do. Will Z rent allows you to collect checks electronically. Jail is hoping he could spend a little bit of time explaining how easy grant works and why it's a big advantage for landlords. Absolutely vary so we we develops he rained two out of me the whole race because right now. You know as the landlord when you're getting rain checks in the mail it's low it's unpredictable. You're missing envelope line in the post are you waiting he might not get all the rent until the tenth or fifteenth of the month. Furthermore if your landlord on vacation in your rinsing your notebooks two would you rate does is it really digitize is no. It makes the ranked electronic payments it allows for roommates sharing their multiple roommates and apartments that's great if you're renting at the college student absolutely. It's predictable it comes at the same time every month and it's all on me. Stuck with the Barry Armstrong and show that's gonna teach the financial exchange on the financial exchange radio network. As promised to his claimant from Fox Business now joins us here to talk about the pending news from the Federal Reserve later today Liz thanks for joining us. Hi what a treat it Federal Reserve account. That we Russa one of those round tables like that you before the NFL games on somebody's you know we could toss around like money instead of footballs or some I don't know but. Anyways. We got the Federal Reserve coming out today with their announcement is there any chance of a surprise or we pretty much guaranteed rate hike. Well I aimed at oak express our stringer Lester there's something called the Fed fund futures hit. Yet mostly not armpit that it up and that they trade. On the back. That there will be a rate hike it is that 100%. For today so you'd expect that the about a quarter point move. And that upper institute to two and a quarter percent in what is. What is that that is the overnight rate that banks. Charge each other because banks once for each other constantly at each other back within 24 hours. But you don't salt that went through to me like your mortgage rates or your credit card rate or your money market of boundary. And so we aren't recent rate environment I think what people should be listening for. Kept pristine is simply. What's gonna happen in December December looks to be demented that's the next sort of big meeting. But. You know we're in a rising rate environment. They're trying to keep a cap on inflation and we'll see what happens but. Some people on earth as others that Whitman had a good thing we dropped data coming in where Bill Walker and urgency. Rate era where we should be of Europe that. I don't see it is the worst. Liz what are things that I've been watching that it's been interesting over the last couple months here. Is specifically with regards to longer term rates and we've seen the ten year treasury. You know move from somewhere in the two point 8% range up to around three point one. Which typically results in money falling into dollars because you know investors say hey we can get a little bit more than we used to it strengthens the dollar in a lot of cases. But we're seeing dollar weakness at the same time which is a little bit weird that is is this something that the Fed needs to watch. Always but but the mandate is war keeping inflation in check and keeping an appointment. Just got forced jobless last week that you would your blow up and you want to go out that that's the number of people. Who join that line to get unemployment benefits. But that is pretty darn process. That's up with a bad mandate to look at that it would be wary about the dollar but. Interestingly the dollar bid pretty strong but it is. Wiggling around and be it but strangely so I I mean they're not wrong to say wait a minute what's going on here but. Part. Everybody's looking at their own prism you know which matters to them about right now we have a strong economy and we have a strong. I did they call them animal spirit that sort of oh yeah optimism that. Immediate. Spontaneous. Act now as we the top of the yesterday at the very. Where we were at what you're only a short break. So Liz I'm in another key factor though is kind of the consumer debt levels are there any concerns out there. Given this battery on you know possibly increase later on today about consumer debt levels and how that might weigh on the economy I'm not talking about Blake. You know mortgage doctors say that more than other kind of borrowing to pick a line or right none. I do well are now. I remember when we first started paying attention with fox business and Jerry Lewis were the first of really kind of look at that it would that we were one point. That is true it is their. Oh and should that north auto debt is finding that there and I'm I'm I'm a person that I would try it I can't pay by credit card immediately credit card debt at a price. That's a point we do have to ask ourselves. Are we going to do that moment where we could overtake the other side where I actually rates spikes so much. Just doesn't stop with the housing crisis. That the people that are going to start deep fault that we are a bit more of the deep ball rate and that is converting. I would simply say though that. To keep it under control matters but. I talked a lot of people are at the next couple. Part out of bubble developers because nobody ever got noticed that it happened except if you force in the went. I think we're worried about. The corporation if you've gone way too much debt there's a lot of cheap financing. The rate at which to. Oh round. There's one or talk to you a little bit about that dual mandate of the Fed you know employment and prices there's there's two things they're supposed to be focusing on. A key portion really of both of those is wage growth which continues to be stagnant and inflation. Has no bid on the uptick for most this year but the last data that we got at the beginning this month showed some weakening inflation actually. Are there any conclusive views on the what exactly is going on here. Don't want my. I love this one outfit state does not a deterrent and yet turn. We did get a deep sense that the caucus turnout support decent wage increase pampered ticket if it jumped about two point 9% that was encouraging. Because quite frankly there how your feel about it but. Corporation. In the pac. Bill that has caught a really good deal I I'm without. But if they're getting a tax cut not passed that down wages to their workers. I have to prop. So it was really encouraging to see that they were hacked and on. Some of that we finally stopped by life in wage increases but that goes both ways one on yet not a trend make at like to see that continue. We're getting GDP the Asian. Borrow a derelict a couple of points for each quarter GDP will likely come in the Atlantic forest threes the estimate. That would be really. That would be really great it's been a long road and on the backs of had that taken by a lot of banks and financial crisis. The taxpayer. I would use my neighbor I had a neighbor who's witnessed the event worker and his wife that the substitute teacher. They wouldn't want to read that is if you've ever run them being pampered that yup it was. They were the ones to suffer for that he lost all of is that. Went into motion and I'm yours ago in college you buried there are times. I thought to myself but. Again what I want to repeat that. So I would like to see. Some of the benefit for the corporation and you've seen so far. In wage growth that we are at least being out. Little bit on though I'd like to see that happen more. Apps left. I feel like we've been looking at wager that feel like Charlie Brown the football just eat but don't hold out like we get this one month and and it doesn't quite follow through so. I've I don't wanting all year and I'm I'm hoping that this is the one where we breakthrough on this is so. Well excuse me but I'm not Cleveland Browns fan so I'm hoping that that Thursday night game a week it got it if and not just don't want off. 'cause we finally won after two years you're out. Yeah you're off the snide they're my mother's from Cleveland as well so it's a good day for every one I think I. When the crowd finally went unless we got we've got to run but thanks for joining us. That's Liz claimant from Fox Business talking about the Federal Reserve and specifically out on wage growth it's he's been one of those things it's it's been puzzling is the unemployment rate is so low. And there's some suggestions that hey maybe we're just now measuring wage growth rate that we can't you see all of the wage growth that's going on. There's other people who think Kate there is no wage growth going on. I don't necessarily know what the truth is but I know that these statistics. Typically give us a decent enough insight and not really saying much right now. Quick break right now where we come back we're gonna talk about meal delivery kits. And whether or not people are keeping their subscriptions right after this break. Life goes on FaceBook and follow us on Twitter. People like them seem to be the people of new York and answering that and Tina asked me is wary they just need to you know cook for one Q. So. I got so much for families I think it's pride to you cost prohibitive imagine. I have a list of the fifty most popular ones we could see a many of these we've heard of blue apron obviously most popular one hello fresh that's another way our data that I have heard about shaft. Never heard of that now and Pique stitch no note. Amazon fresh I've heard of Amazon. This I don't of them is an excellent reason embrace food delivered dumb way I'm looking veteran now in a coma take note it's green shaft. Never heard no. Martha in Marley spoon I have heard of that that is what's at Thanksgiving on from Martha Stewart it is it is Martha Stewart deleted everything I've heard of that sun basket. But you know. Purple carrot which to perhaps you know that because they're associated with TB twelve. You at all as a media meal delivered to net interest in daily harvest I've heard of them to be stroke now. Freshly. Yes yes I've heard a fresh green blender which just doesn't sound good it's. A while it's it's only for smoothies it's it doubts mu it's a some great. It's a make your own smooth delivery and waited a narrow it down and it kind of a niche product but okay plated that's another one I've heard of and and home shaft. Carted it is. I've heard of them I've heard them as I mean it gets me about the uses that. And you know trying to I don't know I don't know people use it mainly as a tiny Siebert just kind of mix up the. Meals in the middle of the week it seemed both you know some people say had just need to get something different so not just making chick countless every week. There's other people who say look I want something where it's just I know exactly what I'm getting and I don't have to worry about grocery shopping and stuff like that one of the complaints I've found. To be honest. Kind of not ignorant but. I ignorant I guess. So these people would do it said that one of the problems was hey once you have this food in your fridge there's pressure to actually cut it. To which I say well if you buy food at the grocery store at the same thing happens right grocery store food doesn't last longer if anything it probably last. Less so to me leftovers and concern me is just the amount of time it takes to make recipes and and it is to attack to make recipe for timely and something new it takes you forever you know an accurate read the simple point three or four times a mixture scoring. On the ice and now it's okay so you want me to do what with the what and then boy like it's it's built up sometimes with temperature was that again. Guess I had like a leisurely Sunday evening and at that depth in the week are around him you know and your hungry your tired right exactly. So this does lead us to our poll question of the day up right now on financial exchange showed dot com. Do you subscribe to a meal delivery kits service the answers are yes no and I canceled it and also text as it's 63566. And let us know if you do subscribe to one which one you subscribe to curious of your area of big fans of blue apron here. Or maybe we've got to smooth greens under the smooth yet on if we ever if if we have a green blunder listener. I'm going to be pretty stoked about it I'll tell you that what do you have that stat handy. It was in that article who's about. Users. Who actually liked the service and then the amount of people yes ruak canceled yesterday 3%. 83% Cha who try to mail delivery service stopped using it they said poor value and portions 83%. Which is not good news which is not good at and here's the thing like so we talk about poor value. To put this in perspective if you wanted five meals a week for pretty much most of these for two people it's a hundred dollars and that's just for dinner. My grocery bill for this week for every single meal down. With 72. Yeah we try to be right around that range between 75 and eighty bucks a week's market that you know. And and that's and we're one of the more expensive places to get through her you know appear in Southern California. It doesn't cost nearly as much as evidence grown. You know this it's we're having a lot of our stuff over from other places attacks out of the 97 eights I use hello fresh. But since I'm single I use it every two to four months yet to have a bad meal. And so date there are fan. That's good that's good so that's something that is our poll question of the day again head over to financial exchange showed dot com to vote and also text us. At 63566. If you subscribe to one of these. Just that wanna get a sense of which ones people are subscribing to. Stock housing in Boston Christine. We we we have a housing shortage in Boston. And it's not particularly a small one you continue to see communities around Boston whether it is. Parts of Boston like south in Dorchester towns like Somerville Chelsea like. We just keep seeing this push outwards of higher home prices. And the problem is it's pushing out a lot of long time residents paid in BE. A lot of entry level service workers are getting pushed out to the point where they can't commute into their jobs in Boston. Yeah and you know it's interesting how they're saying the population in Boston itself is drying faster than anticipated. Pushing up the cost difference that people like us for the first time ever. And that you know that moved back into the city. I think is also attorney Andre Andean EC more popularity around the city lot and ministers yeah I mean people kind of wanna get back in they don't have to drives that's Petit has traffic pattern. Oh you've noticed. Well that's my only thing it's two hours to get home yesterday granted it was raining but you know when every get rain double the commute I'm I mean I need to depart from here either Narnia book paid a little bit of a hall but it was. It was still you know so. We've got at this point the this this city housing plan called for 53000. New units by 2030 originally. Now what you're seeing there Walsh saying hey we need to get up to almost 70000 units in it's still probably short of where we need to be realistically. Right he's trying to set rents that are affordable till lower and middle income residents so I mean by it's I mean with that demographics and in a way they are. You know who knows. Who knows how that's gonna shake out. And and I make the case that that is not addressing the root cause of the problem. Trying to build low income housing doesn't address the fact that those people have low income to begin with and so. If you address the root cause by paying your labor a fair rate so that they can actually live on it in and around the city. Then you don't need as much low income housing but we don't pay our people enough. And that's why we need to figure out ways to create low income housing and by the way that is estimated to cost the city about fifty million dollars annually. And so that the point that I always make on this is the risk doesn't leave the system. If you don't pay people enough upfront. You're going to have to pay them on the back end because eventually get to a point. We're Peter Pan someone. 1012 bucks an hour to come in and run you know run a cash register to come in and you know clean up that mopped the floors and so forth. You get to a point where that we're person gets pushed so far outside the city that they can't commuted on public transportation and then you don't have anyone to do those. Yeah and you scenes that definitely was the with the labor gap that were experiencing yeah across the board and across the state I mean it's not just in Boston but that's across the state pressure. But sucks Ireland Miley thing real quick is that you see these housing units going up the Boston knew that that huge bill meddling well in the in the big ones yeah that's messing you seem more more housing being put up which is needed but. You're not seeing any change or improvement to the infrastructure and it's just traffic is getting worse in Morse. Well and worse and Wendell and by the way the pen tennis there's forty million dollars and I believe Michael Dell is buying that zawahri you know that's not exactly you know but this does more affordable housing going up to that point yes that even the so what's the construction is that luxury type now it's you know we've got a roof deck pool and we've got three bars in Saigon in just look at the seaport wouldn't what's been going on there and it'll look I get that you know people like those things there's an awful lot of people who want to live near Boston can't afford to and -- need -- rooftop won't. You know they just want a place to go and parked themselves night after the war for twelve hours. On top I think you make a really good point about the infrastructure mean you know the the snarls that you get from the lack of at a bus and train and subway. And how their konduz to really down day yeah. It's constant breakdowns it's just it's just really hampering everything. And no I know we moved up to this area from Philadelphia yeah you know we moved close to live close to commuter rail stop and we never use it because the train is so infrequent. Yeah that. That it's just it's more of a hindrance than anything else it's just completely unfortunate. Well that's the problem is because it's infrequent lets people use it and then they'd reduce service which makes it's kind of a chicken and egg thing like hey you've got to build good service and then people will use it you can't just say hey we'll give you crap and hope that it works. So the one positive is the fact that I have seen more buy acres. So you are seeing more bicycles and bike lanes I Elian's on the funny enough he can get. You know bike traffic coming into Cambridge so we arts in new in and everything in. Now get these little you know groups that the pelt on is gonna go in terror announced some time zone. Christine Amazon is making its first investment in a home builder. We're not talking back conventional homes here Smart times what what kind of Smart homes what are we talking. About about you know I mean Alexa you know you know it Alexis right yup and that service that you can use he can just ask it to turn on your radio turner and highlights and actually Amazon is launched more than a dozen Alexa powered Smartphone devices like. Microwaves and amplifiers that can be usable by the Alexa which assistants and now they're talking about making pre fabricated homes. That are are Smartphones that integrate this kind of electric technology. I say I am a little bit old fashioned I mean I may I don't really I have one of those devices that I don't really tees and I'm always kind of wondering who's listening on the other side like chuck worst nightmare. Christine. I I am creeped out by that I don't think beyond that but my wife and I talked we sit there and we and we've gone. Why do we need this like Alexa turned the lights off by the way half our listeners lights just went off but this isn't a problem but. Look at it it's like what happened to like getting up in turning the lights offer the microwave was the one that I was most confused about because. The goal of this is okay you need it like for something easy hands free okay. Well if I put something in the microwave and one heated up and you have to hit the button my hands are free number I'm standing there also I don't even have to go to air but it's telling me to speak. Because. I don't know way yes it keeps me out of little thicker and with via. Well and you know those dots if you have one of them line and you speak of certainly all of a sudden he'll go on any Q matching your microwave to started writing down everything basin a mistake he said I. Oh yeah or like if someone's listening this show and Tucker goes Alexa buy me a Corvette and all the Helena. Now we've got all these court that's being ordered. Think just the hack into these things right it just it just fits your whole house at risk. So now so now. To me that. So this would just be housed with Amazon looted prior products all Smart technology my worst nightmare it's it's literally microphones in the Amazon Amazon touts him as a basic house's. What we're looking yes but it is what the price point I'm very curious to see I don't think it's released yet but no it's not a lot of these pre fab there they're being brought a convertible and in the honesty. That the pro of these pre fab a lot of them really well built because you can Blake assemble them just yet it again it's a one size fits all delegates in the assembly is top notch. So delta had a little bit of a problem with their computer system that prevented all their planes from taking off for. Good. No not dated on May feel sorry for the travelers an I was stuck in second DC for a couple hours with the brake glitch the other night and I was traveling lunatic can't imagine. You know waiting for this silliness and computer network which. I guess it's not that uncommon these days you know look at everything says essentially controlled by computers a lot of airlines packed problems. And in Delta's had I believe three of these over the last couple years already so their systems partly is. With a lot of this I think it comes from all the mergers that have happened in that space where. Sometimes you have remnants of you know dealt the with the old northwest system that might still be you speak up occasionally when it feels like it's not being heard and so like you wonder if some of those have contributed to this just as the it's. Really complicated I mean people don't realize that think I know it's easy to rip on airlines for bag fees in this and that. There's 40000 play today in the United States. At that in perspective isn't happening every single one of them just about every single day. Gets to where it's supposed to go usually within a couple of hours of it in two of way it's supposed to get there. It's really hard to do that there's a lot that goes into that because we've had all kinds of problems like where the talk just mechanical things with planes with the talk about the air traffic control system it's a lot that goes into. And the fact that generally everybody gets. We are there going in in by the way flying is not just like the safest like way to travel pretty much the safest place you can beat is on an airplane just about accurately. You you really don't nothing astute it's like we what was it that we had that one week we had a death on the US flight for the first time. With that southwest London the woman who got sucked out of the plane that was earlier this year right man in America and you know the first death on a US plane in like ten years. There's nowhere else you can go with you are safe for ten years in a row. So. Always look at this nicely yes like it's inconvenient when bad things happen like this. Man like this sometimes we just have to appreciate the match like grit and aviation geek I'm a kind of a nerd like that I like this stuff but I think sometimes. Skip step back and say it's okay that you know I'm gonna be an hourly go all the way across the country. You know bill people who wagons would have been pretty happy about that in 200 years ago when there had known there. Arby's parent inspire brands buying sonic the 2.3 billion doesn't affect it in the northeast to sonic does Nabih huge presence here. But further consolidation in that fast food space. Hi this is chuck and Mike from the financial exchange were here to talk to you about the questions that you need to. Ask your potential financial advisor Mike there's a lot of different types of advisors out there. And one of the big questions that I think people really need to pay attention to. Oh for your client but they must in fact be in the client's best interests can be giving example of how a fiduciary approach may differ from someone who's just acting as a broker for client. Yeah absolutely so when you take the case of say a broker may have a slew of different investment options that they can use and let's say you're comparing two different mutual funds and they might both achieve the same objective. But one of them might pay the advisor 5% commission and one of them might pay the 3% commission. Under those circumstances the broker's fee no free to choose that 5% product because it pays him more. Whereas the fiduciary is going to be in a place where they must choose that product that is truly in the message their client and if they don't. Then they stand to face legal repercussions. Folks there's a new guy out from Armstrong advisory group this month that details all of the questions specifically the top ten questions to ask a financial advisor. Informed and up today about the economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the very Armstrong and chuck Exxon. Well it's a Wednesday here on the financial exchange but not just any Wednesday. The Federal Reserve Wednesday would get Federal Reserve open market committee announcing there plans for either rate hike war. Staying the same on rates. At 2 PM today so that's coming up in just a few hours. The big thing that we're focusing on today we've also got some Nike's earnings to dig through we've got Google talking about privacy your lack thereof depending on how you look at it. The whole bunch of other stuff to dig into as well and joining us today is Christine Dunn from our point strategy Christine is filled in for bear who is. Out today based on. He's got another another grant can talk right down along. That's great congratulations to hand number three there's so that takes a little pressure off me to provide him with grandkids dizzy thinks for some reason all of our kids are his he's telling us that you want an hour which they're not my grandkids are my kids are not his grandkids so. No not happening but Christine let's let's talk a little bit on the Federal Reserve we touched on this a little bit just kind of opened originally and you know the expectation is a quarter percent rate hike that's coming through to. That's right and it's kind of following a series of rate hikes that the Fed has been embarking on and and you know analysts are saying that trend could continue into next year is the Fed kind of ways unemployment wage growth and inflation. The other big thing wolf back quite as big as the Federal Reserve that we're talking about today but. There was a a report out regarding meal delivery kits. And you know whether you're talking about out plated hello fresh blue apron which is the biggest one. A report showed that in 2017. Tucker what was it 83% was 83% 83%. Now they try to and they decided that they get money use it after so 83% of people got rid of their meal delivery kits service which means that these companies that spend a fortune on advertising. The products just not good enough at that price point to keep people using them. But I know me from its allies suit be tapped to use something like that it is to get busy you know the whole point Ximian ordering something are. Are getting something practice to make it easier and faster and to take twice as long avenue recipe yeah and I feel like the main purpose of this now I don't think it's correct it is it solves the news. Age old question of what the hell's for dinner tonight. That's really all this done. Which is cheaper and easier ways to do that is what I think it would the Davis telling us is either 8 am paying too much for this herb dean it's too complicated once again. Yeah yeah and you know I have to confess I do get tired of man cooking after awhile so I do like to try new things but it's but clearly the values not there. And and certainly when when we talk about a company like blue apron in this was company that generated a fair amount of buzz. As an IPO. What a little bit more than a year ago I think it was yet June of last year they were supposed to IPO in the twelve to fifteen dollar range they ended up going off right around ten. They're now at a dollar 7680%. Below their IPO price so. This is another one of those warnings about these about about IPOs really. Where everyone looks at FaceBook and says that's why you get an IPO news. My point is always look at the other companies that don't make. Right rate well and I I do also think that there is a trying to kind of by local and support you know I'd have to say the one delivery that I do like is from my local farm. It's a fresh now you can wanna do you have one of the CS is that what you do love my neighbor does the cius I I just do like Dominican day delivery yeah on heights I do like the fact that I'm supporting local firemen I do that. Bombing in getting some fresh milk in the process or. The eggs like. Fresh eggs are they gonna scrubbed and going to refrigerated and everything they've the fresh right from the the handbag. It's these these are their local the local package. Okay now by its that they are from local OK in ingesting it in just a reminder check we do have an open prediction still on blue apron coming from you. On June 27. Tony seventeen to this from over a year ago yes what what the heck did I say she said that blew a firm will be no more in five years so restored us some time along on the edit it down 80% since then I'm ahead of the game on this. They might be gone and a year at this right now about the prediction on that one yes predictable post a prediction mall. What I at some point you know we need to do is one of the slow weeks like when we get in archives what we know will we get into what the week of like Christmas and guy that we need to just go through the prediction walls and the like this stuff that's still out there yet possible and meeting and during the break you guys have some good prediction now and Robert from what. Just quickly just before we go for that what's the most outlandish when that you can find quickly. I think you said hi April looped in ten years with the pirates. The I'll put it more and I like the oath then that's pretty soon well there's a reason why you shouldn't listen to this show. Get insights like. Let's talk about Nike they came out with earnings last name is their first earnings announcements since. They debuted that Colin tapper it gathers controversial written that was by the way only three weeks ago it feels like forever yet the believe in something campaign this does not include any data since that this is only through the end of August because that was the end of their quarters there. But what are we glean from this earnings report. I mean the main thing in the stock is still down I believe it fell after after the earnings report and in the main reason is sides. On mother reporting some sales growth then analysts seem to feel at the upside in the stock has thirty been built in to all of the all the numbers. So they're not really expecting more which is interesting you know nick he's been going after more win minimally kneels trying to compete with ID doesn't under armour and lululemon. But I guess analysts are just beyond like even with all the buzzer and that ad campaign the stock is Max now. Yeah and in this is a Stockton to put in perspective where the stock has come from one year ago if you met go back to September 26 of seventeen. Nike stock was trading at 53 a share its 83 right now so you're talking about 60% upside in the span of a year. And over the last five years the stock has gone from 36 up to this range of more than doubling over that time. So what has moved up rather quickly since the Google. Is gonna be testifying in front of a senate committee today saying they may quote mistakes. Yeah our rented a privacy misrepresenting. To Apple's safari users about how they use or don't use cookies and targeted ads. And you know I mean there's really a lot of close look at this and in their expected to play over twenty million in civil penalties to the FTC. But the real issue is just this issue are around you know data privacy for individuals and I know the EU would come out with that general data protection regulation earlier this year. Really tightening things up. You know for anyone who does any kind of any kind of you know. Web usage you know an email usage over in the EU. Christine one of the questions that we asked when a lot of this the these privacy concerns were front and center earlier this year was you know would you pay. Even a dollar a month to get email that's completely ad free completely cookie free we've kind of a mixed response as some people said yeah I'd love to it. What we're it would do you think that's something that you would doer that you think would be popular in general. I like would you pay for email like. Yes. Well I did pay for email Oka just fur fur company usage you know companies pay for email in -- to have private. Access all the time I mean you can have a public team Alan Hotmail account of course. For your personal reasons that a lot of people do pay for private email and he still he still look at the ads because people get a hold of things and every time you buy some thing. Every time he subscribed to some thing. You know you can sign up for social media account I mean your email gets registered so you get the spam no matter what. Do you think people at this points are. Aware enough to realize that what they are even rating in emails to each other. Even if it's not being disclosed to anyone it's still being used as the basis for ads that are being get delivered to do you think people realize that at this point there and is it still. Too murky for people to understand. I think here in the US and don't think a lot of people understand that particular young people I don't think they realize how much to creating an online profile. I mean even you know parents need to have a awareness slip and using social media and everything every time they're posting a picture of their own head. In their account they're creating an online profile of their kid. So that's something that you know parents need to think about as well. So I I downloaded as an example this I downloaded. You know that the whole encryption Natalee went through and not sharing data and outselling it. But even they have issues where. It in my. From 978 the main thing I don't like is every mile as we or greens and I don't eat that it's not a good thing. From eight in Ukraine's wheat. That might be gluten free talker. I think you'd be specified and yeah I would match demands well I would imagine. 860 we've tried several meal services never enough good meals took awhile to Macon and being pricey after the initial discounts war. What else do we have here. From 9782 says lay off talker to which I respond. And with that were on to the Berkshire Hathaway of Canada's companies so. Berkshire at the way if you're not familiar with them not Warren Buffett's company if you're not familiar with what they do Berkshire Hathaway the biggest. Part of them really is an insurance company that collects an awful lot of premiums each year. And then invest those premiums usually in other companies but also bonds and things like that. And that's how part of the reason why Buffett has this huge you will of money that he's been able to build up to invest so Berkshire Hathaway owns a whole bunch of different companies outright another fifteen or twenty dale portions of but there is a company based in Canada. It's kind of using this model in the marijuana. Write that or Canada yes yes I never. I never really heard of them although you know both. I have been hearing a lot about how there's a lot of kind of can of this related products and everything incubating up in Canada and saloon and Dan good choice of words. What do you think of the whole move towards there's manner marijuana do you guys have any medical marijuana shops or anything in your towns. Yeah I mean this plane medical shops in the area and I think they're going to be opening the first actual recreational marijuana stores. In Massachusetts they say finally got the lab approved I know now in order actually tested to make sure that hates it's what year you think you getting. You know if it's something the more that I look at it the more that you sit there and you say. The fact that it's still illegal federally puts us behind eight ball a lot of these cases because there's also had an article that we're gonna talk about here today where. If you look at the eight biggest. Merger and acquisition advisors in the Canada space they're all based in Canada because starting legally. The banks in the US can't do the deals and it kind of puts us behind the ball as far as figuring out. Hey how do you you know actually make this into. In industry that is regulated properly can operate well and that you are able to him get some of the money that's flowing into it. We don't have any of the the medicinal marijuana in our town at this point yet. I know there's one in Brookline so there's no one nearby to wants. I know a lot of towns of said hey they don't want it in their town definitely can and we have it on ourselves. It's part of part of me I look at it and I find it's so interesting that towns are so anti marijuana on one level because. If you were to go into a town right now it's they had wanna go build it a craft distillery her craft brewery. Towns will be lining up to give you money because we've seen the explosion of those in in the last decade. In every town wants one because generates foot traffic coming in and everything. Use the word marijuana and use the word like you you sell marijuana. And towns say no we don't want anything to do with it and I think it's a little shortsighted on a lot of these towns because if the town next year as a all's gonna happen is people gonna go there and then bring him back in anyways and you don't get any of the benefits to your town so. I would make the case hey if you were still legal everywhere. Had great don't have it there but. If it's going to be legal in the state. You don't have too many choices in the long and I don't think I mean where where do you stand on this Christine. Well. And com mail fashion that not really happy about the fact that it's legal in the state they'll cut and you know as a mom of three kids. Just gets her primary care yeah I mean I'm really just not excited about having that it's free access there in that way. Whether it's in my town in the town next door. Not just not something none that gets me generally excited. Tucker and I have often made the point that if you go through high schools whether it's in New England whether it's in the south the west wherever it is. You go to high schools in the United States. There's marijuana in and in particular my my wife is a guidance counselor. And she has to deal with kids who knew do use drugs from time and time it's like it's it's the nature of the beast and occasionally there's things that have to deal with. And she'll say you know shall find things happen other schools and so forth and you know some of the stuff that happens that she tells me that is going on lake and other schools it's terrifying. It's terrifying what happens because it's not just the kids are using marijuana but the using in this laced with stuff because it's off the street rain rain and it's terrifying. That you see that you know we saw there was. When was that you had all those fentanyl or. A lot of stuff does about a month ago in a lot of those were high school kids read his New Haven yeah I think it yourself at about six ODs usually these kind of like my kids that are like using this stuff there's as marijuana but as late for something horror you know and she was like a thank god it wasn't my kids but it could have been so I look at and say hey this is this is probably a step in the right direction terms of safety because. It you're gonna find this stuff anyway. Yeah just it makes me nervous when when we see the you know seeds that that stuff out there because you don't know what you're getting right now. No I mean to SharePoint enemy and realistic enough to know that yes kids do things in all that's going to happen. And just not sure that we have to increase the access and make it quite as accessible. I actually agree with that that look all of the studies show that if you're using marijuana as eighteen it does have some new pretty nasty side effects and so it's. They had we find ways to make sure that you know we can regulate the safely for adults but also keep it out of the hands of teens. I think those are good conversations have absolutely. Let's take a quick look at markets just as we near the bottom of the hour right now. In the US Dow Jones down Europe's are up 57 points the S&P is up seven. NASDAQ is up 27 at the moment. Hi this is chuck and Mike from the financial exchange were here to talk about some of the questions that you need to make sure you ask a financial advisor if you're considering hiring one and Mike what are the big questions that I think everyone needs to pay attention to is actually making the investment decisions when it comes to what goes in the client's portfolio what what. What types of different situations and be seen as far as who makes the investment choices in portfolios decline. I can vary significantly I mean everything from TO a small independent advisors action running all those portfolios and investments themselves to completely hiring that entire piece in the business out to a third party why it's important that you understand which one it's happening is because you want to make sure a the person that's making the investment decisions has the qualifications. Needed to do so. Understands the markets maybe has a chartered financial analyst on staff and beats they're not doing it themselves are there any additional costs to using a third party for the service lets talk about that second piece of particular how much additional cost you end up running into if they're outsourcing that management uh oh well I mean I I've seen numbers as high as another full percentage point if not more hearing the case where say you're paying your advisor 1%. And they're using a third party money manager you might be layering on an additional 1% cost mainly doubling in the cost of investing for you. Folks the question of who makes the investment decisions in a client portfolios just one of the questions you need to ask a potential advisor and Armstrong advisory group has put together a list of the top ten questions that you need to ask a potential advisor all you have to do to get it is call 800. 3934001. That's 803934001. Or if he'd rather get it online you can go right now and Armstrong advisory dot com once again that's our strong advisory dot com. And include. Larry chuck in the financial exchange on FaceBook FaceBook dot com slash the financial exchange they see as the financial exchange radio network. Who's. It's. Can. So I would say Christine that about X. Seventy to 80% no that's high. Forty to 50% of our segments on on this show typically start with so here's the problem with Mullen says a lot of people that it's it's where we usually start most segments I think and I exaggerating Tucker doughnuts I would say 85% actor. OK so I wasn't wrong with my initial statement so. Here's the good thing about mullah meals that and keep in mind added weight for a day when bears opted to do this actually happened. Apparently the divorce rate is coming down in the United States. In a big reason why is that millennial zepa to. If if you compare divorce rates among people in there twenties and thirties to what previous generations did. Millennial department divorcing at a far lower rates. Right and they're waiting they're being pick here about who they marry. And there waiting to get married soon not in any kind of rushed there waiting until their finances and everything are on track. So maybe this is a little bit more calm but the trees they're making and you know they've gone through a lot of there you know personal growth the developments they know that they want. You hear that very. You hear that. That's the sad truth right there Maha. So I act. And I look at this and what it there's no doubt that we get. Married more slowly than previous generation there's there's no doubt and if some people say it's because of student loans and colonials wanting to Ian delay moving into adulthood in this and that. What if part of it also could be they saw what happened to their parents their friends' parents a lot of who ended up divorced. And they just said. No I don't wanna do the same thing. And looking at that all agree divorced friend ray and and a lot of lot of them the people yes you know fifty you know her getting divorced. They stayed together for the kids the kids are gone and they say yeah they were downward and there's a lot of that going on now so it. It's it's interesting that you see this trend that is because overall right now. The US divorce rate has dropped 18%. From 2008 to 26 teams so. We're not talking about a 12% dip we're talking 20% less the big shift that we're seeing there. Animal deals are part of the reason why we're seeing that ship. Tucker this is another one I don't know if we ever had this on the prediction board but it's something that I said about a couple years ago let's go listen all the tapes from. Forever and will find this. I said Duncan in order to to move past just being a breakfast place has to get rid of doughnuts as its brand of yes you do it's an up and they're doing it they are getting rid of Donetsk. In their name and they are simply going to be called Duncan. America runs on Duncan right there's that whole campaign and it can be focusing on beverage sales which actually makes that more than half of their sales read says it stands to reason. Although I have to say that I I have such a soft spot Dunkin' Donuts and my mom users from the Philippines and when I was little we used to travel to these remote areas outside of Manila. There is always at Duncan and rerelease. I really no matter every single world village seem to have a Dunkin' Donuts it's grown up. So it's I have does and a soft spot for that brand. A I think the big thing is they just want to be able to have people coming in all day as opposed to you know you go to any Duncan from 5 AM through nine. They're jams yet. But other than that I think the traffic becomes a lot more intermittent and they want people not so much we're gonna come in the lounge because I don't think they can ever make you with the size when they're not gonna become like Starbucks because that the footprints just too small a lot of cases right and the Internet traffic and and have those mobile laps that's what I had to come through and hey I gotta give me a sandwich for lunch in the am gonna I need another you know something else just before dinner or something so. I think it's something that makes a lot of sense it gives them. New revenue to grow into. And my oh my only hope is that the the food they make can be a little bit better than the previous media tries they had you know what I won't dump and prayer breakfast sandwiches I could eat and every day for the rest in my life and I'd be happy. But I found a lot of the launch offerings kinda. Yeah I don't go to the defeat for the animals. The muffins in the coffee yet. Everything you need in life begins at Dunkin' Donuts died and I'd be completely happy that's all I mean. Folks it's pretty hard to find a bank has checking and savings accounts that can provide a decent return but if you're the market for one look no further than leader banks you know rewards account. Qualifying customers get 1% back on Deb it's 10% back if feature businesses with no minimum balance required and no monthly fees books. It's not all. Leader banks who were savings account. Get a 2.0 5% EPY that's 2.0 5%. And it's a great perk for qualifying suit my customers if you will conferred great rate. It's time to call leader blanket 877691790. Z or you can learn more about Zuma accounts and that number again is 877. 6917900. Or visit leader bank dot com. Minimum deposits open and earned a 2.0 5% APY. Mass residents only bees may reduce earnings rate subject to change without notice. Member FDIC leader bank a step ahead to even have mortgage rates moving up Christine. Still have more application so when that hate there still people who want to get into the housing market even has become more expensive for them to do so. Well and I think some of them also are seeing it as a last Chancery finance for the rates released it oh interesting I hadn't even thought about that yeah because they're taking a look at that and saying pay rates are going out there. Better get in like can they still love. Do you want older homer do you rent and my and. Did or did you refinance any point while you own that how passionately actually refinanced a couple of times staff have you found it worthwhile yeah absolutely with. In a debt I'm assuming then that you probably at a lower rate than what's available today so you probably off the refinance rock and there is financed by and that is super helpful for us or refinance simply because our property taxes have gone up over the years is Alia you know different infrastructure projects and everything and we found it actually helped offset. This tax increases to be able to refinance at. Lower rates of property tax go up by a few hundred bucks and say we can save this money you know here in and that way you kind of come out OK we got something relatively equal. Exactly exactly interest in. Apartment rents also edging higher here a two point 9% in the third quarter. From a year earlier that's an acceleration from the 2.5 percent annual rate growth that we saw in the second quarter. So apparently the rent is not too damn high. It keeps going up a supply and demand raining if you have. Lowe's supply and that entry level price point for home sales in NC people trying to rent those apartments now. And in in what you've seen talking about supply and demand here the share of occupied apartments in the third quarter rose to 95 point 8% up from 95 point four. Generally anything above ninety is thought of as a healthy occupancy rates so you've got these places. Pretty much jammed I mean it's if it is everyone is is getting into these rent Leon's I think some because. I'll tell you what that there are some folks in their fifties and sixties they're saying look I don't wanna own place anymore the kids are gone levee downsized just ranked because I don't wanna do all the maintenance and everything. Action several people relate that view do you you know decided we gonna figure out where we wanna live and so they're kind of using the rental market is an opportunity to test out different neighborhoods and lifestyles and everything for the acetylene. Smart yeah you know when you're making a purchase that big it's Smart to kind of say hey let's let's see how this all works. And then you duet of the people that unfortunately are involuntarily renting because they can't afford to buy a place and yes we have kind of this combination of factors. That's leading to a very different housing market and we've seen historically. It's just it's just a different situation at the moment. Let's take a break and then actually know what let's not take him I don't wanna. Not tired yet let's keep going let's let's talk about there's one other story here. Rewards credit cards do either of you have any of the big rewards cards love their awards card I ideas and Jagger at Ellis yeah yeah I used to like I've paid for trips using oh my Bentley all kinds of stuff. But apparently. Merchants don't like these rewards cards because they charge higher interchange fees today and kind of your base you know standard plain Vanilla card. Yeah I mean I didn't realize that I didn't either and so when I was reading that article I mean I can understand but I see the point just you know having that axis and being able to seamlessly user awards card as opposed you. A non rewards card I'm has been you know definitely. And senate to use carts more than cats honestly it makes it easier you know right to carry that cash around. Wouldn't you say it's an enemy to you pay your bill every month that you know it's it's definitely a lot easier streamline everything. And in pretty much the way it works right now is that there are really three to four major what we call interchanges that are used for credit card processing and those interchanges have. Pretty common names that you know Visa Mastercard American Express those the companies that have built these networks to actually process these transactions. In the way it works right now there is what they call the honor all cards rule which means that. If you are going to be on the visa networker on the MasterCard networker on the American Express and discover network any one of those. You have to accept all cards from that issue Warsaw give me an example. If you're on the visa network you have to take the basic visa card you did the no frills one that you can get just from visa hey here's a visa card. But you also have to take the chase sapphire reserve card which is from chase but uses that VC network and has higher fees attached to it. And so if your merchant merchants are sitting there saying look. All I want the ability to do is say no I wanna take this chase started in this piece of one an obvious one but not all of them and to a certain extent I understand. Because there's not much competition in the interchange space it's a really expensive space to get into. We couldn't go open up our own credit card company today. And compete because it's just too expensive to do so so I look at an essay pay if if you're gonna have. 45 maybe six major players in that space. Maybe you do wanna have a little bit more competition there and not have the on overall car rule be in effect. If you're consumer though. And all of a sudden here expensive rewards card is able to be used to these place use of their goal heck why would I wanna have this thing right exactly I mean that in my responses that I managed to stop using them. So why bother it's eats cut it's a really difficult problem to solve but. And I don't know where they go with this but it's a problem that I didn't even know existed until today to be completely honest. You know maybe it seemed to see what the impact could be on online shopping. I because we realize so much and being able to access any card to do all of that online commerce environment to cash and inducements island shopping. Absolutely. Absolutely the case let's take a break here and when we come back we're talking about. Another company in the payments to base and why they are growing like an absolute wheat that's coming up right after this break on the financial exchange radio and part of the financial exchanged instant. And square one of the companies that is really disrupting the payment space. It's best in nineteen months yesterday holy cow what's going on here Christine. Well looks like the company is doing for the payments sector what face spoken Amazon Netflix did for the technology industry. Really disrupting traditional markets in and creating kind of a global market for use of its services. The stock by the way has gone from 27 dollars a share to 95 a share in the last years of more than tripling over that time span. Kristi at have you seen any merchants that are using this I seem a lot in a lot of late new restaurants and things like that. Where it's these new easy simple point of sale things you can sign neo all the tips handled internally and everything. Yeah I seem a lot these days get taxicabs as well yes all over the place is just a convenient easy can just stick the little. Thing on me on the phone and easily slight even when you go to all of those like art fairs and stuff like that like on cape IDC and all the time. You know well such scene using these a lot are different contractors. So I had someone I garage door problems couple months ago. Had to get someone to come out they you know fix the problem and everything as a unit filming is now not then you will how my unit campaign. Pulls thing upload a right into his phone paid right there via credit card done you know. It's one of those things even helps contractors they can run their business all on their phone now they don't need be sending invoices nozzle we system my billing department now. Boom done sends me recede automatically to my email address. Everything simple. Well I kind of like apple you know square has been looking for a way to create more of like a subscription service yes stream of revenue and that's allowed it to attract some of the larger companies. Particulate employers who can use it for payroll and things like that which is it's a great recurring revenue. Now the danger on a company like this okay this company's worth about forty billion dollars in market cap at the moment. To revenues only about 2.2 suits trading deal close to twenty times revenue right now. This steep multiple that you're paying for this company so it doesn't mean go out by date as we don't go on don't buy it but this is a company. That is trading really really steeply at the moment. And they're not profitable right now either the other there. Earning their they're making a lot of money terms of sales but they're not yet profitable but. You're seeing you know analyst continue to jump on the on the training you're saying hey we think this company as more and more room to run. But. Just be aware if you decide to go take a look at this one. We've talked for the last couple years now about why we continue to see slow wage growth. Ticked up a little bit for the month of August we'll see if September confirms that at all but one of the thoughts of part of what I actually said a little while ago was that book. Part of the reason why people are getting paid more in their paychecks because the cost of benefits has gone up significantly because health insurance is much more expensive. And other benefits are being added in as well with the talk about. Paid family leave and stuff like that. Workers might not be getting more take home today but they're getting all kinds of other things that go into the overall. Pay equation when it's all said and done. Yeah and a lot of the benefits are kind of lifestyle benefits which you know from a worker's standpoint you know helps to kind of create more of that work life balance that were always trying to achieve right. Right but but you know from an employer's point of view that is definitely cost and they have to take that into account. CIA you're definitely seeing benefits being more like closer to 32% to a third of compensation these days which is up from 27%. Back in 2000 and and this includes you know non monetary benefits like. Flexible hours in Britain from home or even gym memberships or summer Friday it's right. So it's you know we always look at wage growth and we always edgy wise it's still only two point 72 point 9%. But there's a lot more that goes into total compensation and just wages it could be. Again no health insurance benefits that are being paid out summer Fridays off things like that. You know Jim's that are as humans like all these different things. They all go into the equation here and and that kind of complicates it when we're trying to figure out where wages go the stats that we have from the government. They're created in the 1950s to figure out wages no different world today than 1950. East right and the expectations for what productivity is and how you work and how long you work in everything related. Can you imagine and it's it's just you you go backing in you say it used to be when you were off the clock. Dogma you know we say that they couldn't reach you you'd have a cell phone. You know in a lot of cases you look you go back you know you've just a 120 years or three generations most families didn't even loans. They couldn't find you you were off the clock. Now you can find this and it. That's all the time we have for the day as we wrap things up here all major indices slightly in positive territory. Chuck exotic Christine Doug Tucker Silva. We will see you tomorrow.
