This is the financial exchange with Barry Armstrong and chunks of you're exclusive look at business and financial news affecting your day your city your world. Stay informed and up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and chuck Exxon. The report is titled the employment situation August when he eighteen. For whatever reason the jobs report well for good reason jobs report has become one of the more if not the most watched. Piece of economic data that we get every single month we usually get on the first Friday of every month occasionally have a delayed a little bit just because of where certain dates ball. But in September here we do get that that that jobs report for August on this the first Friday. Of September here in. Might take a look at this report. Pretty good one to be completely honest you look through this there's a couple little things that you say okay let's monitor this going forward but overall. If it's a pretty solid report. It is LA but I think it kind of comes in with expectations especially when you factor in the last few months which have been. Do relatively discounted reports and that after this report is released by the way they revised down in July and June numbers so it's. I guess to be expected that you would have a pretty robust report in August if you have two months back in July and June where just a little bit shaky. Well and in to be honest it doesn't seem like there's a lot of room for variation right now on on a couple fronts here number one. I don't think there's much room for upside because I don't think there are enough available employees. To come out with you know bang up months we have 27280000. Jobs created on a regular basis there's just not that many all fired unemployed people right now to do that. On a regular basis. On the other hand. We know that there are big enough order backlogs. That there's not really a ton of downside risk we're gonna have you know continued you know cases where you have two or three months where we only had you know 40000 jobs created. It's not the case right now so I think there's a relatively narrow window. And pretty much we've been hitting that kind of in that 115 to twenty range in terms of job creation. When we pull away from the headline numbers and start to dig under and dig in underneath the hood. Couple things that do look. Bit concerning wet when you start to walk dig in there one of the things that we've talked about. Is the participation rate for people in effectively the economy. And this is a measure of hey how many people are in the labor force actively looking for jobs or how many people have jobs and that participation rate. They've gotten up to 62 point 9% over the course of the last year or so after being down around 625 prior to that. Dipping back down this month those 62 point 7692000. People coming out of the labor and this month so that's something where you look at you say. Ha you know that's that's a little infused in there and this is something that a big chunk of that. Big chunk of that is due to baby boomers retire. We we have more boomers retiring then we have people coming into the workforce who are graduating that is. That is a an undeniable fact you can see this when you look at the number of people not in the labor force. A year ago was about 94 point seven million today it's 96 point three million. Up what caused the economy's worse now than it was a year ago the economy is stronger now than a year ago. But you have more people retiring than at any point. In the US history prior to us now correct me if I'm wrong beat the definition of labor force is patient is. The group of people aged sixteen to 64 that are that are working so yeah you definitely have a lot of people turning. 65 a lot more they're turning 65 and are turning sixteen at this point. You do. Exactly so you you have more those people and also. Think about it we know that the bulk of people the majority of them are taking Social Security at 62 and 63 there's an awful lot of people to drop out of the labor force before they reach full retirement age as well just because if you're earning more than fourteen grand and change a year and you collect Social Security you know really getting all your benefit because the officer. It's no justice that I'd be pretty inch today and is the percentage of 65 to 75 year olds still working at least part time I don't know that I have a good metrics we had something on a couple months ago I can't remember what it it eats up significantly from before or after its act. Again I'm I'm going from memory here so it's going to be wrong to question is just how wrong am I going to eat it but it was somewhere if you go back to the nineties it was like 20% of people in that range in now it's up around like 33 to 35%. And citizen be increased in people that are working at those ages. Looking deeper into this report some good news that we did get the use six under employment index now okay. This measure is not just people were unemployed but people who were part time and want full time work. People who were you know discouraged from looking from work. That over the last year has dropped from eight point 6%. Down to seven point force we've made really meaningful progress. In combating underemployment dip in that I think is it really speaks to the strength of the economy in particular. What I like to look at is a what's the difference between unemployment rate in the underemployment rate right a year ago. Four point 4% was the unemployment rate eight point six was under appointments and there's a gap before point two. Today that gap is only 3.5 percent so we're getting a lot better. At you know figuring out now not figuring out but we're getting a lot better at importing people up to the level that they want to be employed. What's your take on the at the wages. Shall we saw 0% zero point 4% pretty good game shall we two months in a row and I've I've been fooled so many times by the one month where it's all right we finally have wage growth and then the next month we don't so. I am at the point on wage growth were say shall we two months in a row. Yeah but good number for this month. But hey it's show me two months in a row on wages is I've been burned so many times by this false start that I just. You know it's it's kind of like you know you you're dating some when it's over what kind of interest will we go three no not yet. An impact you finally get it you just finally get worn down it's like OK I'm not gonna ask anymore so. That's format on waged a not to ask any more just gonna wait to see what it actually shows. No surprises here but Jack continued severe shortages of labor in specialized skill areas so truck drivers nurses. Huge shortage of workers in these specific areas. Yeah not not really something that surprising we've been talking about that pretty much all summer it's it's a major problem right now. Let's talk about a another company while a company that's going through. What appears to be. No major problems. Is experts major prop okay yeah it's not like. Toys 'R' Us major problems but it's major props so Tesla we've talked about them we talk about them an awful up probably more than they deserve to be talked about. But here's the deal Tesla had a new chief accounting officer. By the name of Dave Morton who started about a month ago after the previous one left in March unexpectedly. Dave Morton comes on the job about a month ago he just left the job today after a month on the job. Now here's why this is important so the chief accounting officer at a company does exactly what you think they do they go through and make sure that the accounting is in order and that the company is you know able to report what they need to report on data that the this is someone who after a month on the job. With access every pieces of data regarding how that company is doing and so forth decided no on now. Yeah an important keep in mind too you know when. I'm not I'm not gonna go out on a limb here and say that there is anything fraudulent going on with Tesla but win something like that does happen. You know somebody is cooking the books accompanies you know get yours held responsible for that. It's the chief accounting officer that goes to jail in in I won't go far enough to say that that's something that's happening but all you know is that this this person Dave Morton. Was at Tesla and saw enough for one reason or another to not believe in the future that company after that one month there. I don't know what the reason is but here's why this is important is very few people at a company. They can leave and it actually tells you something about company if the chief accounting officer. At no Procter & Gamble decided they were gonna leave you could say. Oh that that's where they left after month there's probably there's there's something coming but Procter & Gamble still going to beat it is that still can be able to sells you know things profitable right. With Tesla the problem is they are a company that needs capital to survive. It has questions already there they've already got SEC investigations. Ongoing at this point. They they are losing money on every vehicle that they may. In the guy who's in charge of saying hey here's how everything is actually shaking out month after month. Looked at everything and said you not do when I'm. There are very few people the company where that means something this is one of those PS. It's huge I mean it is the person that sees all the facts of their net there was elitist statement released by Morton. Mavs can read a quote since I joined Tesla on August 6 a level of public attention placed on the company as well as the pace within the company have exceeded my expectations. As a result this cause meat to reconsider my future I want to be clear that I believed strongly in Tesla its mission and its future prospects. And I know disagreements with hassles leadership or its financial reporting. So let's give tests for the benefit of the doubt maybe it's just you know. The amount to public attention that's been on the company C. Chief accounting officer just wasn't comfortable with that but. You know I've been there for one month and resigning as the chief accounting officer you have to be concerned the absolutely need to be concerned. And and for me whenever I'm considering it. And he can say whatever you want but actions speak louder than words and man. This is a surprise resignation from the chief accounting officer is scary very scary concern not ideal here. I do wanna talk about something that we we briefly touched on we never really got around to it over the last two days we've we've gotten close but not actually there. So there was this out hole that was put out in this was by a a company or think tank called the workforce institute. And what they did is they pulled 3000 participants threaten North America Europe Australia and India. 45%. Of those people said that hey if I could do my work completely and in erupted. They they could do their jobs in less than five hours a day. Okay less than five hours days of people are saying look I might shall work for 8910 hours whatever it is. But people were saying I'm doing five hours or less of work per day. So. This brings us to our poll question of the day actually first we're gonna ask talk the talk how many hours do you actually work while you're out one to three. If that's questionable and so I just had to attend a noon and then allow look at the Zurich rapid as Tucker. A target that that is beyond this is not work like that god is this just happens you know he's just show up in OK like massive. Obviously that's known I don't know so the question that we have up right now on financial exchange showed dot com is how many hours a day do you actually work while your work and we've got four options for. One to two hours so you just kind of slack in Austin on FaceBook into options college basketball or college football depending on the timing year. Three to five hours okay you plug it through little bit but you take along once in May be talking with cat the about yesterday's you know America's Got Talent to this and that. If you are Mina witnessed sales rep you're driving around you know from job to job they look at the driving time is your work Coke and account that his off time but. You know if you're sitting there and you know your your desk and you're supposed to be you know handling TPS reports or something like that instead you sit there. You know goof off on Twitter. Did you what do you account if you have like three hours useless meetings Rodham Meyer manager every day that like Michael Scott meetings and I got a network not our right now it's a how much of the job are you actually doing something that is related to what you're supposed to be doing so. If if part of your job is driving. Think that that's part of your job if part of your job is. Part of your job is not sitting in meetings in being you lectured about OK here's how we did this month in this is. No that's not your warped that is someone telling you stuff that's not related to your work how much is actually you know doing something that you have to do in order to complete your job. No. Hi everybody it's very Armstrong and Jake two Lian we're talking about a program called Z rent. Now this is specifically. Designed for those of you who wore landlords in used to collect your checks with paper checks are gosh maybe still do. Was he rent allows you'd collect checks electronically. Jail is hoping he could spend a little better time explaining how easy grant works and why it's a big advantage for landlords. Absolutely vary so we we develops he rained two out of me the whole race because right now. You know as the landlord when you're getting rain checks in the mail it's low it's unpredictable. You're missing envelope line mostly waiting he might not get all the rent until the tenth or fifteenth of the month furthermore if your landlord on vacation in your renting your notebooks two would you rate does is it really digitize is no. It makes the ranked electronic payments it allows for roomy cheering for multiple roommates and apartments that's great if you're renting out to college student absolutely. It's predictable it comes at the same time every month. And it's all on me. So the landlords who have been using assisting huge time savings and ointment you are you still giving the first six months free for landlords the first six months or free and then in addition to that. If you bank at one of the participating banks he ran is always pre pre. Those participating banks are meter bank it's the best use the up at that any bank could sign up rate make if you at a bank in Vermont to Connecticut. They could sign up and become part is the rent yup you fury if you have a community bank that wants to be a member happened Collison will have and sign up and the Serbs who then be free free. All right if you wanna learn more about easy rent. Go to Z rent dot net you give my call if you wanted to 8776917900. If your bank doesn't operate they can sign up for zero go to zero rent dot net or call them told free. 8776917900. Security suffered through securities America ain't members finreg SIPC and advisory services arbiters securities America advisors think Barry Armstrong representative Armstrong advisory group in the securities America companies are unaffiliated stock tips stuck with Barry Armstrong and shots are gonna fix the financial exchange on the financial exchange radio network. Have had a clogged drain. Called a handy manner drain cleaning company but then more than they're not licensed and qualified to repair the cause of the dog don't make that mistake just call easy coming. Filmmaker drain flows smoothly in the keep it from happening again. They are experts in this area in trust me when I tell you. They were there will never be in need to call anyone else call easy opponent today 781. 8621190. Mass master license number 10183. Drop faster rates going up Mike. Different attitude this year and so we got a report out that rose and grannies the air prison renders the Boston Federal Reserve president just. Kevin nothing statement but it'd just hey we wanna continue to slowly raise rates which. About in line with what everyone's been saying. There are also trying to get more attention to Ria appropriate policy buffers. Just to mitigate you know being being shot down the road. So to me this mean it means another two this year. And at least another two or next. And and based on the projections receive the next fed meeting by the way is in nineteen d.'s pretty much September 26. We are currently at a 99 point 8% probability that we get a fed hike then so that's about as close as you can be yep given how markets actually work. And when we go out to December of this year. Ready 74%. Possibility that we get an additional hike then. If you go back a week ago we heard a 70% possibility of that in a month ago a 67%. Possible so we've seen about a 9% increase in the odds over that time period where things get a little bit murky is heading out into next year. And we can't see too far because the Fed fund futures that I can see only go out an additional year suit to sit next September. What's interesting though is that looking out next year there is a and again this is by the next year there's a 36%. Chance that we wolf had. 3 hikes by an evening meeting one next year 28% chance that we will pad to buy it and in only nine point 8% chance we will pad three hikes at this point next year. Okay so. I tend to agree actually with where these are moving right now I am on team one or two that's why I've been saying that for the last month that are you know there's a lot of chatter hey we're still gonna get you know three to four hikes next year. We went to his where's the meat actually two to three. What's what's your death. I I eight. Maybe I'm wrong about this but IE firmly believe that we're gonna start to see serious wage growth next year end of this year being in next year I think that's going to force the Fed's hand. To really ramp up the interest rate movements. And NC intrude tree next year. I've been Charlie Brown so many times by that football at this point and that its I I am just done decided to go in that direction. So I hesitate to say that it's gonna be that steep. But at it like to be pleasantly surprised actually and so we'll see. One of pop over to the text on briefly just because we do some response to our poll question coming in there. One actually two respondents from 781 and 978 both saying. That meetings are worked. But how do you guys feel about that. Well if that's what the meeting is I mean I. Had in my current job I don't often have to attend meetings that are religious. Total. The aspect in other jobs he had to go to all these meetings that. You know we're just a distraction network guys in meetings at a meeting in ages that just complete distractions and unnecessary. War. You know like why am I actually in this I've no real reason to be here like that happens a lot more polite much larger companies that it does that. Or you know mandatory training meetings yes they are mandatory and they're required for the job but not you or it's not that that's what we're trying to get that years ago when your on the job and not just talking about being distracted and you know texting on the job in the FaceBook on the job saying. When your work what. Percent in how many hours of that day were actually spent. Doing your dated jobs verses distractions. Mandatory term meetings mandatory meetings about. Job training it's better it's better that work really. The core of getting your job. I will say we've got some interesting responses so far on the pole either our listeners work way harder than everyone else. Liars or we're just batted explain it no I don't think our listeners line I think we're better explain these were probably batted explaining this which is not good if year hosting a radio show. That your not good. Socket what are the results that we as a part talker. Let me do the old re fresh here. Quick F five action all right so lies 61%. Of our listeners work six to eight hours. I'll actual work per day in and second places 23% and nine plus hours which is surprising. Third places eleven point 53 to five hours in one to two hours is three point 8%. So what's interesting here is nationally you're not nationally in this survey that included some international workers. The average worker about 45% of people said look we can do our jobs and less than five hours today. Our listeners only 15% can do that work in less than five hours a day. We're take a break here when we come back we're talking about trade with Japan and the financial exchange radio net. Life goes on FaceBook and follow us on Twitter. Time now for Wall Street watch a look at the market's performance so far today until Berrian joke right here on the financial exchange radio network. It is now time for Wall Street watch and we'll start first with the. Retailer five below which opened the year and by the way 49 dollars and 96 cents a share. It won 34 now nearly tripling its value over the course the year including. Being up 16%. Today. I can't. Blockbuster quarter that it reported just corporate profit of 42 cents a share. That was four cents a share above estimates this revenue that beat forecasts and better than expected comp store sales so. Hey you really like eight shining light in the retail sector and have him. Go out here in just point out for people. This company is trading at its forty he. Eight times forward earnings I believe 47 times forward earnings that doesn't happen and retail and I. I mean take a look at their competitors Dollar General those guys trading at like sixteen to twenty I didn't. Not exactly sure what's going on here with them. Let's turn now to. What took a little bit about Broadcom they are a major. Semiconductor company. And today in terms of where they are today they're about 6% walks they are they they came in sixteen cents a share above estimates crude profit came in at four dollars and 98 cents. And so beating expectations. Saw real growth in demand for their data center related products so. As you mentioned stocks moving this morning as well. Though day. Obviously a much tougher one year then and some of their competitors. Start a little bit about Japan. We had an interview. With the Wall Street Journal rather it was just the statement made to the Wall Street Journal by president trump. Who said yesterday. That he had good relations with the Japanese leadership. But in this is a quote from the present of course that will end assumes I tell them how much they have to pay. So are we don't into our trade disputes with Japan now that would is that what's coming. Who knows. Honestly I know it's getting. You know say it seems like his cab and off the cuff statement and it could actually mean something innovative perhaps present trump has and on his checklist as to what's next. It could also be just something completely off the cuff that the day he tosses out these statements ever and ever once in awhile that. The mayors brought up here retirement Japan and you everything's hunky dory but by the women make them Nim and make them make him a year and we've seen in the past where it's actually meant something and we've also seen where it's meant absolutely nothing so. I don't read too much into this. I think that's fair point of this at this point here let's see if we can read anything into the prospect of future tax cuts let's let's talk a little bit about. What is. Not making its way through congress at this point being talked about in congress. This is something has been it's been dubbed effectively tax reform 2.0. In really what it would do was it would make permanent the individual tax cuts that went through last year. Right so win. The Republicans passed the tax reform bill they did it in a way that it's didn't require a democratic votes. But win with the rules and this comes down to kind of complex and it rules but. Effectively they were not allowed to increase budget deficits beyond 2027. OK so bill way that they pass this bill. Be it fashion which they did it they had to have these tax cuts automatically expire. In 20/20 five so that's what's due to happen in 2002 points. So this extension largely it would cover the years 2627. And twenty. And effectively over those three years it would cost that 638. Billion dollars is what this proposal cost. Do you think this has any chance of getting through in the next two months now now we're not really too much it's it relates its form it's effectively will the lame duck session. Yeah I don't I don't police I think this is really Republicans coming out and trying to fire up their base ahead of the mid term elections. I ask how I read I tend to agree something like this it eat it takes a while remember tax reform took what somewhere in the ballpark. Little over a year are out to actually you know get to the point where they could get something through. I find it hard to believe you're gonna start NASA seems to be something hey you know that this is something that we want to do. Make sure that we stay in it in office as opposed to something that's a realistic shot of being passed by the end of this year. I agree. How many hours is actually take you complete all of the work yet to do any given day while your network one of our listeners from Sydney once as they're asked the question rather. Does the book nine count listening to the show as work against and yes this. What you're doing here at this might be the most important work to do all day in listening to us. It might be it's definitely the most important thing you can do according to us. Look for us. Think about it what what is going to make a bigger difference in the long term success of your life than listening to the show won't because you learn something every day. What if you can apply to your work exactly here's something new that you're gonna learn right now Ford has recalled two million trucks after. The seat belt now vision and know that again this is going to prolong your life because now you know hey if I'm in one of these four trucks I gotta get my seat belts changed a bipartisan catch on fire by the way I love that this is the case of this technology so. See told you sell pre pensioner these things by the way that you know how when you get into receipt if you move too quickly the seatbelt jumps back to you yes the pretense here is what does that it's to keep the seat belt from to hold you back actually said the don't just go flying forward with this belt around. So of the vehicle on that that detects a sudden deceleration from autism yet you moving forward very quickly you're slamming on the breaks yeah report. Andy uses an explosive charge to keep the seat belt in place. Those are creating fire shocking. So that's the thing is I do like the pretension there was like something that you know stopped do you if you were just you know OK if you moved too quickly and that's why it's heavily get out of this thing you know like I get that. I had no idea it's that these also. In it like word had explosive charges to stop you in the event that there was a sudden crash site hello once you do that. Is this just in Ford had I don't know American engineer I don't know the but love and exploding seatbelts. So to be fairly if you. Well known knocking down. No good on camera okay so you know how if you're in the net you personally but. Fighter pilots occasionally they have to Jackson. It it's pretty much the original objections seats were pretty much T and T under the seat that would throw you up through the top Murray. So lake. Too late this is we do save lives with explosives actually. But in this case apparently what's happening. Is some of these explosive charges go off the wrong way. And there have been 23 reports that cars have caught on fire as the result of these pretension there's the plane and you know if if you were asked me hey you know which part of your vehicle is most likely. Cause a fire. Seat I think. Really low on that list really well I mean like you like right next to like the speedometer. Now now I think you'll be below that I was you think okay like electrical wires got something that a mechanical in this. This is like price your seat is causing your truck to catch on fire but so two million pickup trucks it is. They recall F 150 vehicles between the model years 2015 through 2018. To get they saw about 700000 of these years it's two million vehicles are at their biggest biggest seller most profitable cars. Or. Vehicles this is pretty huge costs about 140 million dollars yeah apparently what was happening was that it's right behind the B pillar which is right behind your left shoulder is the driver. And apparently insulation and carpet behind the pillar would catch on fire and all of Sydney be trapped in a now burning vehicle now which is. Not a good situation no deaths from the certainly know it did some smoke in sin says that they've taken care of it early which is the important. British Airways investigating a customer data breach apparently the 380000. People who bought tickets on bumpers Airways dot com. From August 21 to September 5. The credit card information Stallone. This is the data breach of the week we have won just about every week we should have a data breach of the weekend I'll be agreed segment we actually yeah that we should we should think about that there is one almost every single week so if you bought any British Airways tickets. Another San August 21 to September 5 I'm in and recommend you know if you buy it it's taken a British Airways in any period the last 1224 months. Navy go take a look to credit card may be just keep a close. Yet this this is one I know that that the parent company of British Airways gets their stock was down a few percent in premarket trading today. I don't really know why you're trying to fly to the UK you don't have a ton of options you know that there's a few like you can obviously you know fly into. Ireland and so forth and then you know maybe hop over there you know connect through using you know Aer Lingus something like that. There's not a ton of options to get over to the UK if you're fine you know across the Atlanta how dumb are we to this news at this point. Of this ME three entity that does is nothing in the target drop and that's a lot of people the target you're right on the part one of the shoulders just target one I think was like 76 million current and he had act was Equifax Experian and a wanna get the products yet Equifax one which at what point 156. Million people or something like that. With some security numbers I don't think I did do not believe this one created sister and I believe mr. crash occurred yet again this year you can change a credit card number easily pay if you bought a British Airways ticket in the last two weeks. Bill called whatever critic argues that go call that company and change in at get a new car it's it's easy enough to fix. On so that's good news at least also continuing a bad string of aviation news twelve American Airlines passengers were apparently sick with flu like systems. In Philadelphia this is a day after that flight now quarantined in New York. You know what has been just a constant craziness to me just strange thing I don't know understand. If you're an airline. Just waive the change fees if the person has a bill deals this do you that is really prove. A doctor's note that says hey this person is going to pass along this disease if there on an airplane that would be easy enough to do. You can hold the doctors students aren't paid this person is contagious. They need to go to change their flight. Because if front facing a 300 dollar. Change feet I would do everything in my power to get on that play even if Miami together people I mean yeah. I would say that auditioned like half a lot of people aren't gonna change that if they have to pay a three dollar change fee it is ridiculous. That if you have chicken pox. You can't change your play without a penalty. All along those lines not that it's contagious but one of the worst play experiences never had it was my senior in high school and I and gotten poison Ivy League if you these earlier. And so on sit in on this three hour flight which is poison ivy all over my only since its in its passage just over the put it. Not not good so. Yeah I I I would. I'd like to see some flexibility there but I could see an awful lot of people. You know I could see you know what these days are legacies that airline doctors bringing up and it you know you go to Ireland doctor dot com note this is doctor's note from that airlines. Yeah now I know that this would be news subject to rampant abuse just like the pats they air the emotional support to emotional support and yeah he's taken advantage of the abuse and I get that. But you know what if if somebody's got a stomach virus sitting next to me on an airplane. I have to I have to deal with that is where you outsiders the try to give the little horrified get you know across. The Atlantic Ocean and twelve the other passengers have flu like pants that's that purpose. Let's get those little bags via a nose and back I know what they're their rolled up broke the top sealed up and they go on. Let's not take a break and when we come back would be talking about whole foods employees that are apparently gearing up. To unionize just a year after Amazon bought them that is right after this. The whole food bought her rather Amazon bought a whole foods. And a year ago I think that's when that deal closed last year. And they've obviously made a number of changes to pricing in store layouts and they get discounts of your prime member now and oh by the way we can deliver groceries to you now if your prime member. But apparently some of the workers are not exactly thrilled with the changes that are happening and it seems like there is. But the post developing for these workers to unionize. Be bad news for Amazon I would imagine that there were to nip this in the bud pretty quickly. You know whole foods workers it seems like had some pretty nice benefits under holes serves easily and you Dunham. Yeah I mean they're getting stock options they were getting a lot of pretty nice stuff and that's. As expected I mean Amazon's kind done away with that they are a low cost provider and that was one of their main goals going in here was. Make it more efficient and but yeah I mean if you're an employer that hung on. I can see you complaining a fair bit about popping up. Well looking at it and especially you know the case that these workers or make you say were you know make in 10111213. Dollars an hour whatever it is I don't know the exact wage of every you know person who works whole foods. But they're saying hey what do you know were part of the growth engine that you're trying to appeal build this company using. And the CEO of our company is seeing you know his net worth go up by you know billions of dollars. On a daily basis. And were no longer being able to participate. I expect tickets on one level it's a fear grievance but. You know it's you look at it and Anke I just I don't know. In in this economy that probably have a better case of getting something done then share five or six years ago but it's still a tough part for them to try to it to get something done here I think yeah. Well I mean I don't know and so if anybody else does feel pretty taxed in bed. Anybody that's ever worked for each laws or market baskets or our effort is routers and anyone get in stock options and those jobs. I didn't but I was only there for like two years I've never heard of that happened. You know I believe that. Market basket had I know I know they had I don't know if they still do but I believe they had a profit sharing plan yeah. So I don't think it was stock options is who's not publicly traded company couldn't do anything with the many ways but I believe that market basket workers would get profit sharing mr. Can't say you know like you said this job market I I see one of the biggest risks to Amazon's business being. Its employees both employee retention employee cost and union issues like this going forward I mean. He used you see what they're doing in other areas of their business there again trying to outsource drivers are trying to answer you know really controlled their labor issues and in this job market it's not shocking. You're gonna have a tough time. Retaining employees and I don't know maybe maybe they do need to stop start offering stock options and maybe that's the only way to keep employers I'm not sure. Wonder if font. If franchise and these whole foods have any impact. Certainly does away with the stock options issue. Today it's worked for other I remember seeing it with the grocery store known Brian I haven't either. Little bit more complex with a gerchas source and you have such a complex supply chain yeah huge sabathia McDonald's right unity you need. I don't know twenty items that are then complex. You know supply chain with whole foods especially because they source a lot of local stuff that can be tough. Yeah to be really tough one to take a quick break to go to work text line here 612 actually corrects me on one thing that I did not have right. I thought that the other seatbelt pretension or also was the thing that kept you you kind of from getting out of it sometimes if you wanted to get out of it. That apparently this is against the 61 to the pretension there's only activated when the vehicle senses a crash. What caused the seat belt a lock up when you move the seat too fast. Is the inertia real which blocks via a mechanical system after the explosion only goes on after crash it to us and it actually does appear that the majority of it is there's three different ways these pretension there's work. Apparently. The explosion Ian is is one of them explosion Lou it's a little BO explosions at any exploit it suits who was no explosion they're all are also some mechanical ones also an electrical version as well so. Apparently the ones that were causing problems on these F 150s worthy. Explosion related so. That is all the time that we have on this hour of the financial exchange. Hi this is chuck and Mike from the financial exchange were here to talk to you. About the questions that you need to ask a potential financial advisor Mike there's a lot of different types of advisors out there. And one of the big questions that I think people really need to pay attention to noble for your client but they must in fact be in the client's best interests can give an example of how a fiduciary approach may differ from someone who's just acting as a broker for client. Yeah absolutely so when you take the case of say a broker they have a slew of different investment options that they can use and let's say you're comparing two different mutual funds and they might both achieve the same objective. But one of them might pay the advisor 5% commission and one of them might pay the 3% commission. Under those circumstances the brokers to know free to choose that 5% product because it pays him more. Where has the fiduciary is going to be in a place where they must choose that product that is truly in the message their client and if they don't. Then they stand to face legal repercussions. Folks there's a new guy out from Armstrong advisory group this month that details all of the questions specifically the top ten questions to ask a financial advisor. And now the financial exchange with the very Armstrong and chuck Exxon. Well it's the first Friday of September and we've got a heck of a lot of stuff to get through today we got a jobs report we've got you on must having more trouble at Tesla. We've got speculation on Amazon's second headquarters. That's three pretty good stories I think so and so and so we're gonna take the next hour kind of clawed through all those and see how many we can get through let's start though. With this jobs report and we get this coming out the first Friday of every month. In Mike if if your greatness when I probably give it somewhere and B plus in mind. That's going to be plus the guys good reports although it did come with revisions for the last two months revising those numbers down so. For their month of August it was a very good report very strong wage grow there it. Relatively strong rate codes or point 4% beating me annualized wage growth number of two point 9%. Though as you point out check you really wanna see if you consecutive months of good wage growth. And before you make anything up and we just have not been able to get there yet so you're hydrated and I'm not getting Charlie Brown again I'm gonna wait and see what we get next month's yeah. You know other areas of the reports that are an inch staying the labor force participation rate. Actually declined a little bit which is not a good indication now what you like to see here. Though we you know we do continue to have a lot of baby boomers retiring which is going to impact those numbers there. Any other any other big takeaways here I mean what do you think this all means for interest rates we've already got pretty much a lock in for the next 25 basis point hike coming soon. What does this mean for ended the year and next year. Welcome to the markets are telling you hey we we think this means that we've we've got that new next hike locked in and you know December's. Pretty close to locked in now on the north or 7580%. Now on on. December so. EU we haven't seen a ton of movement next year and I think people are still in wait and see mode as far as you know how things are moving on that front so I don't read it tie into that at this point. But I still think you only get one to two likes next year yeah at the that's what you're seeing by the way that labor participation rate. Wanna talk a little bit about this one. Just as the number that we get today is the overall participation rate and that's affected by people dropping out due to retirement things like that we get 96 million people that are out of work right now a year ago was about 94 point seven so we've added you know one point three million people who were not in the labor force. Doctors the economy's gotten worse in the last year too had an awful lot of people that have retired in the last year. You have 101000 baby boomers a day. That are retiring on apps not every single day you know probably not on Saturday and some it is known walks in and quits on a Saturday. But 101000 a day on average is what you're seen yet 365. Days a year that means there's three point six million people retiring every year. We don't have three point six million people. Coming in to replace them so you get to see an overall decline in in the totally participation rate what we like to look at. Is the participation rate. For people ages 25 to 54 that takes out the people that are going to college takes out the people that are retiring at age 62 or 65 or 67 or seventy. And it looks at the people. Who should be working aged 25 to 54 that's that's where you make your money okay. If we go back a year. OK some pull us up right now August 2017. The labor participation rate peep between. 25 and 54 a year ago was 81 point 6%. What that meant means is that pretty much 81 point 6% of people were in the labor force at some point during that time. If we take a look at it today we are at 82% so we've seen about a half percent increase. Now the question that most of you should ask you this point two how does that compare to BO historical norms. You go back and take a look. At the ninety's okay we are typically between that 83 and 84% so we're still right in 12% below in that range which means there's probably somewhere between three and six million people. That pay our working for some reason we can't quite figure it out it might be addiction at this point. It might be that you do have more people. That RB of going and pursuing advanced degrees and are in the labor force the united changes in family dynamics more people taking care. A family members either older or younger received an as the baby boomers age. A lot of their kids are being forced into caregiver roles and might have to move out of the workforce if all these different things happening but the fact is we got about. Three to six million people that are working today that historically what habit now. And I don't know why that in America no no one's been able to give a conclusive explanation for this there's parts he can explain parts of it you know. Addiction and the OP or crisis is a huge fact. People go back to school was a big factor people caring parents and thinks it. But we we don't know what makes up the biggest chunk has its its really hard to get this data. Actually explain. What it's not hard to get data about is the stock price of Tesla which right now is down about 5% after being down 10% earlier today. Tests under fire today that chief accounting officer resigned their head of HR resigned. And apparently Elon Musk smoke some weed on a podcast and Eric whiskey and drank whiskey. Which is funny because when I aid you know when I took a look at the news this morning at like I don't know 10615 man. That was the big test stories that Elon Musk is on muskies token man pod cast your smoke and read on. Now on some. It was Jo-Jo wrote about I guess chip out which guy early token which is a ton of viewers bow to US 250000 viewers day now. Matt which in itself calacanis and whatever its you on Moscow care it's not a terribly surprisingly cute and it's not what I would recommend doing our main Ossetia president I today I think it's a red Herring. I think that's I I don't think it matters is a life totally disagree. America loves this. That is so visionary innovative that he's a little bit off his rocker like Steve Jobs. Publicized widely known. That he did a ton of L as dean college and after college entity going Cameron do well ST now but liking him and a bunch of it like you re just about any about it he's like yeah that was one of the most formative experiences in my life we. Really gave me direction in my life. Americans are willing to forgive all that stuff. As long as the company actually does what it's post you know we think about all of you look at the heroes in America. We don't of the person who's kinda straight down the line after they get out of work them we like the purse that's a little knots. You know you you look at all the heroes that we have Elvis. That's the first place he went Elvis known as a musician ever talk about drug use hot dog strays and czar position. Not a CE OW you look like some of lake these visionary CEO's these visionary people just in American history you know and they're all a little bit nuts when they get off the job actually like again which he you know smokes refer on camera. Look I'm not. Like a Smart move it's nice marks whatsoever I don't think there's any upside for. I also think that anyone ripping him for doing this right now. A year ago you wouldn't have mattered because the narrative on Tesla was so positive it was O Elon Musk can do it every once disease in Haiti's do. People who were critical of this now it gives people who were critical of him excused criticized which is why I do think it's dull. But I don't think it's dome that people were criticizing him is when we you know we venerate CEOs who do stuff like this are heroes all are kind of flawed. Not so so it bay but regardless this story about smoking weed is completely blown out of the water. By the fact that his chief accounting officer has been on the job down month that's just resign that's part of this is unexpectedly. That I don't care about Sony's chief accounting officer resigned. As head of HR just resigned as well. That that's what shares are trading lower idling its because of them. Joseph Rogan parents' parents Lou but if you look at Twitter and everything is it always you on smokes a little read cheers honestly know. Knows his chief account executive left him the suspects went that's that's the crawl bigger story here. Right though that that is the big issues so in other people's you know you on new you know it's it's all because of smoke. No one cares about that investors don't care for CEO smokes weed is always it makes him better his job okay. It really doesn't matter to investors what investors care about his take the chief accounting officer the person who's in charge of make sure the books at Tesla. Worked the way they're supposed to was on the job for one month and for what ever reason we don't know the reason now but for what ever reason that person said. I'm out. That's that same like we don't know what it means. But you can't spin that in a positive way there's no way to spin it constantly now so. It could be neutral in that hey maybe he actually is leaving for personal reasons. Or it could be paved we have no White Lake you look at took one look at the books and said no not happening I'm done. So that's a bigger problem for Elon Musk and keep in mind. The last chief accounting exit officer left back in March unexpectedly as well so this is to what a year now. This is too in a year something stinks it's it's not good so that's something that bears some serious watching. Let's take a break right now when we come back we're going to be talking about. So am. On about a year ago announced that they were going to be. Setting up this sect headquarters. HQ to HQ two as it is referred to. Every city in the country immediately. Freaked out I think they got like 340 proposals for you know different cities that wanted to be had on. The project. They eventually will that was down to twenty. And it's been really quiet for the last nine months they have we we really have not gotten any data which means. That everyone's out there now and his scrounging around saying hey does this mean something does that mean some of give you some ideas. Over Labor Day weekend. Jeff Bezos apparently was down in Miami at a nightclub. Pictures were taken of him every once that note does this mean that Amazon is moving down to Miami. There was another case. In this was. In Pittsburgh. Where at the Carnegie Mellon University either School of Computer Science dean. Resigned in peoples that will that mean he's resigning in order to run each Q2 in Pittsburgh. There last airlines. Which is the hometown here at Seattle by the way announced a daily nonstop flight to Columbus, Ohio some people's nose going to be Columbus. I remember do you remember the Super Bowl ad where people were conjecture. You know Buddha on Austin. They today they ask the election what's the weather like Austin, Texas and oh my god it's going to be in Austin. Right I know six months later we still have no idea. It you will be really funny is if somehow it and I have no idea how they'd be able to do this if they somehow managed to build this thing without anyone noticing in the newly organized by the way of minority built in real production operate where where he opened what do you guys and the whole they. It's in to peak I don't know I don't know what you guys out there about the only place they can hide it you know thousands of employees who work at it it just feels like that's something they would do though. A totally. You know like oh yeah by the way we told you guys this whole process you know we we already picked Boise will what was the original iPhone it's a where's Waldo is. We're what was the original deadline for the announcement that it's like Thanksgiving Day I would imagine will be by the end of this year how it is this year they can drag this out and all. I've Ivester had to have good body works at Amazon he's got no clue. Or at least he's not villainy whose personal would be no idea about my swing or when it's votes you and I won a journal radio show. Since since way and it. What are you talking about you just increase in Canada stocks though the last couple weeks have been. Canada stocks have gotten really high in the last couple match. Thanks guys. Largely on the back Constellation Brands spending four billion dollars to make a big state yet take a big state. It can be growth they bought 35% the company mean the company did they valued at about twelve billion dollars. But at Avaya pullback in some of these stocks in recent days now. Ever I mean it seems like they might have just gotten a little bit ahead of themselves I mean where we're starting to value these companies almost as if they're able to do business in the United States when they're very clearly now. A day. It's getting it's getting a little bit reject. Well and it and it. The big problem that you have to warn people about is that run not ever one. People will come in those say gee I really want to invest in candidates what stocks to I invested. The thing you have to understand about most Canada stocks. Is eighth. There's an awful lot of scams out there. And be as an individual investor without a background in accounting and investor. You really don't have the tools available to be able to tell which ones a scam in which one is right and so it won't win every you have. In new technology that is on the cusp of breaking through and becoming mainstream. You end up with the scam artists out there. We saw back during the tech bubble where people would you know hang a shingle and put dot com on their name and all of a sudden the stocks were two billion dollars in no one even knew what it did but the bitcoin they crypto currency bubble we saw last year with crypto where people say oh gee I want one of them bitcoin is one and I go get one of those and then people were like okay what ATM -- I go to get amounts like notes not now works and and the thing went down by 60% and all of a sudden it's GO lost my shirt my car my house yeah. Be careful what this I'm not saying don't invest in Canada stocks. I'm saying don't invest without doing a ton of research because there are eight Holland of scams out there. I mean I don't. Don't just try it could be a massive opportunity in this console it will brands will be but that's why all the scam artists come out right and he Constellation Brands by making this investment. It could be really huge I just I don't see how they self the United States market until it's federally meet. Now XP exactly they still all kinds of problems with banking and so forth well I mean realistically I guess. Let's say they created a marijuana based beverage mean Canada that is sold across country there. Can you salad in California or Colorado or Massachusetts once we finally realize that's don't know. Don't know and idea don't know. Confused out and I don't know how you necessarily important DF to set up a facility in one of the states to make it easy scampering across state lines intraday estimate it would be in the state I assume. Sixty California certainly big enough to do that via its. You know it's these are all the questions that you know it's not just only got approved in candidates could see there's a lot of gray area in. The United States right now. We we don't know won a lot of these questions what do take a quick look at our poll question of the day up right now on financial exchange showed dot com we know that mostly it. Either pay you're you're still working now may be retired in used to work. But the question is what you show to work eight to 9 in the morning. The clock out at five or six you were there you know 810 hours in general. How many hours did you actually worked during the day verses AM to shoot the breeze with my buddies there AM you know I went for a long launch you know we grab a couple drinks by mistake conduct point to a Michael Scott meeting. Whatever yeah it or he went to you know a dumb meeting where nothing actually happened but yet to sit there for two hours anyways. We wanna know how much time is actually take you to do the work that you have to do over the course of a folding 45% of respondents to a survey. Today could do their job in less than five hours today. If they weren't in erupted so our question is how many hours a day do you actually work. While your app work and what kind of results we have so far talked. Yes so far in the leads with 68 hours 65% of our listeners are enact camp. Second place is nine plus hours that's crazy at 20%. Third place is four point 5% in three to five hour range and then 2.5 percent is one to two hours. So we do have people that are saying hey during the course my day and we do one or two hours of work on me. In that and that's talkative to Marcia and that's a Tucker who respond we'll talk to Allah but we also commercial breaks so it's really not two hours for. Da so it's one if it's it's true that we don't have our commercials there on saint shell. What mine is the commercial. And then the actual shell. I'm not gonna mask let's let's let's let's let's move on I I I can't figure out this new math and everything. I do wanna take a quick look at markets before we go any further we opened up today in negative territory largely because of concerns that with a good jobs report today we're gonna get more rate hikes and expected. We are seeing a little bit of a relief rally though the NASDAQ now 26 points the S&P up one. Dow was still in negative territory down 34 at the moment. Taking a quick look around some of the the different sectors that we have. In this market is kind of a strange one to look at today but if we look on a sector by sector basis at the moment. Worst performing sectors utilities and materials which usually don't move in the same direction utilities are risk off materials or risk on. And then you take a look at you know kind of the top end. Tech health care and consumer discretionary and this is a weird Dan I wouldn't really make any long term plans based on where this market moves today can honestly. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense according to take a break when we come back talking about the company is the young shoppers love the most. The financial exchange is alive on FaceBook so make sure to like your page and watched the guys break down the latest on the markets every day beginning at ten on the financial exchange radio network. Hi this is chuck and Mike from the financial exchange we're here to talk about some of the questions that you need to make sure you ask a financial advisor if you're considering hiring one and Mike what are the big questions that I think everyone needs to pay attention to is who actually making the investment decisions when it comes to what goes declines portfolio what what types of different situations and be seen as far as who makes the investment choices in portfolios for. It's taken very significantly mean everything from TO a small independent advisors action running all those portfolios and investments themselves to completely hiring that entire piece of the business out to a third party why it's important that you understand which what is happening is because you want to make sure a the person that's making the investment decisions has the qualifications needed to do so. Understands the markets maybe has a chartered financial analyst on staff and B if they're not doing it themselves are there any additional costs to using a third party for the service lets talk about that second piece of particular how much additional cost you end up running into if they're outsourcing that management oh well I mean I I've seen numbers as high as another full percentage point if not more during the case where say you're paying your advisor 1%. And they're using a third party money manager you might be layering on an additional 1% cost mainly doubling the cost of investing for. Folks the question of who makes the investment decisions in a client portfolios just one of the questions you need to ask a potential advisor and Armstrong advisory group has put together a list of the top ten questions that you need to ask a potential advisor all you have to do to get it is call 800. 3934001. Did you get any out favorite brands favored companies. Yes it companies. Answered and you called in new chino. Exude chino and which you know never heard of that now I've heard of it and know that company. I'd like that little Chia Pets are different and stick with clothing at kind of like a lot deeper and lucky. Like brand what did you do look at. The new teams right yeah I mean they may well this team but they're known for energy is why we need a female co host guys look at up. I'm telling him. Go to their brand. Then that makes stuff and close the reason I ask is we we did see this survey that was done by a put this together. The Goldman Sachs and Conde Nast low list brand affinity and acts connect. They put this together to see what millennial and generation generations he shoppers. By and what do what do they actually like and what they find so age thirteen to 34 as the population were talking about. Pretty surprising. I was also surprised by the way that target mean on here. For their hair care products. I'm not sure I understand this list on. And Nike was number three on their for a athletic apparel audience deceive weird that moves over the next and over the next twelve months. Little. Other big huge surprises on here I mean we had we had Nicky we had Gucci we added deed is. How many of these jumps. He grades at this point five on this top 25 was obviously how many of them had you never heard. I have four. Which makes me start to feel like I'm getting old one too. I meant to so far too. That I had four that I had not heard I had no idea what all the was there a part of all that lewd what is the it's always like and every mall and go to malls are. They're also I mean I feel like the art in the stock market news I don't know that for made fashion. That place but apparently incredibly. Hotel stock this year so no I have no idea what there is no doubt that was the first one I didn't know I have no idea what urban decay is never heard of that. It just sounds just sounds like. Kind of post apocalyptic and or to if I have no idea what MAC is Mac Mac that's the may accompany him don't know. And when you're doing on the weekends to. I just know these things you know in I had no idea what. Ares was eight ER I. Now they're a teenager close and now you wanna hear some that'll really make you feel dumb these are the list of quote up and coming brands that millennial and ginned he shoppers are choosing is kind of the next one. Fifty beauty. No idea never a glossy you're glossy eight knowingly ever color pop. No oil of athletics. Doll fashion nova Null the ordinary doll. Didn't hear of one I have no idea when you'll tar me either. I am so disconnected from everything thirteen to 342 it's like this is just like thirteen day eighteen Euro bonds is a pretty wide group of people that and identifying these grants I feel pretty good though that I don't know any of these is it tells me them spending my time in the right places instead of animals placed the fact that I don't know these yeah on one level it's like man like him I'm kinda lose net on the other it's. Hate I don't want to know. These things so. Vote is Mike Armstrong have we been helping families like yours with their investment strategy for years and whether you're working with our team already or another advisor we want to give you some free advice find the right advisor is not easy so we've written a guide to help you through this trying process it's called the top ten questions you should ask your financial advisor. So apparently and it is something that I heard about I don't know for the first time maybe six or eight months ago high end luxury. Brands apparently. At the end of the year if they haven't sold all their goods rather than sending in Africa only the Super Bowl teachers for the losing team. They burn their goods and they. So fascinating. It is so that this is adjusting so Barbary as an example the reason why this comes a burglary yesterday. Said that they would immediately stop destroying their Owens stole unsold stock. Because they said it was bad for the environment new said new environment groups and it was wasteful. Apparently. The amount that they Burke last year was equal to 28 point six million pounds. With ten dollars to about 35 million dollars at 540 million dollars so too big chunk. My first question is why don't you just keep the stuff on the shelf. For a longer you've made it it's not like this with you know it's not like. You weren't intending to sell to begin with so you wanted to sell that number this to me like Ferrari saying gee we sold 3400 cars below me 3500 let's get rid of the last time you know hundred. Because. A Ferrari doesn't get as significant updates every single year where is the the fashion industry for whatever reason they change stuff so quickly. That they did they they feel at least that they can't have these products on the shelves for him more than 67 months like us and in that case I say this is where inventory management are absolutely make less of them in Selma higher costs OS will. That that is. Definitely an indication of four inventory especially in the case Burberry Bakken 2013 they were burned five and a half million. This year they've they've earned 28 point six I mean that's that's an indication that either you've missed something on what the you know what consumers are demanding this year. Or you just had ad inventory management. You hear about companies burning through cash on a regular basis very rarely do you see them actually burning action Burke pastor Terry I think it's it's it's pretty rare that you see that so. It at all. Mean they have to create this artificial. And tight inventory is that they have decreed that their brand to be considered a larger exit data dump it on the secondary market or in the right in in the outlet malls. Then suddenly it's it's not it's going to fetch that premium price. Next yet that they obviously can't dump it. But my question is look what to do is keep lake and I guess look I don't understand fashion yeah I I and don't get fashion I know this already. But I don't know we just it just to sell the stuff for a month long lake idol neatly into your you're also talking to a guy who. Just last week some of that BJ's Wholesale Club so what you get the fifth and Wales for the policies Alia we're colors. And what pop and green and black what do they Runyon like 99 and as a yellow if you have a well if there's a thousand dollars and I got a hundred planned act on it so I'm good for a long. Oh is I don't fatten up you know quickly yeah. Hot apple their new iPhone apparently the big one. Confirmed their duke apparently called the iPhone XS Max. Which is kind of a mouthful to say hey it's just that time on Fridays when my nonstop work and it's getting rid of the plots pretty much yet the they're getting rid of the plus apparently in the pricing looks like it's going to be pretty much in line with what we saw last year ranked who doesn't look like prices are going up so everyone who made fun of the iPhone actually iPhone tenor whatever we wanna call it. For being a thousand dollars the next one is still gonna be a Thousand Oaks it's not going up yeah. I'm I'm kind of surprised. It's expecting that bump up the prices and maybe this isn't an official announcement by the way email me at the the quotes in euros or regain regain actually at the US dollar chorus but. Aren't you surprised that they would they are jacking up the price on the on the I mean these brand new screens they got these alleged screens on the new phones. I don't know what it worked at the last one. It did I wonder if they felt there is enough push back they couldn't move any higher on this. You know I don't that's the case. We're gonna get their official announcement its next Wednesday ethnic and the twelfth is when none they have their official ones so we'll know a little bit more about that. So is the next week is the access and another Roman numeral that when it passes into room in New Orleans and here's the other problems so you know that they wanted to ask when to be called if attendance. President tens of the times. IPhone tends. That that tends max's what I'd like these public try to say excess Max overtly UK it's I don't know way. What they have to call like and they just make it number ten like every other one of their phones they did let the record showed they skip the number nine in this whole process. Well yeah but I mean like you gotta be like. What you gonna get out of number nine. You know the same you got to remember side and on just trying to just got I got Tucker I don't know lake. There's marketing people that obviously look the stocks up like 50% last year it worked there so yeah I made fun of them for skipping the number nine. They're smarter than me. Yeah I admitted they're they're smarter than me they got it figured out so. Is on the line now as he does every single Friday as Paul Monica from CNN money Paul Howard today. A good so we're talking Nike they have really been in the news much lately they ever gonna do anything that makes headlines. I wonder if this notoriously. Quiet. Press averse company. You were talking about obviously in all seriousness the theory is that the talk. You know whether. C a boycott by some are offended by the company's Kaplan act. Its most recent ad campaign Catholic of course being war. Take in need during the National Anthem a few years ago and you know now you know a quarterback cap count a man without a country the quarterback of that team yet. Two years. But when you look at the reaction Nike stock. He'd fall initially on the news the capita debt campaign but that. It's rebounded a little bit I think Gary is in many respects that using capita in an ad is that. Smart. At the they did grab attention and also help court for our younger bother. Paul mark my view on this is if you look at its Nike and where they are selling to now. There international sales are bigger than the US at this point they've they've finally crossed that mark last year I believe. My view is if you look at the sports that are selling most of most highly internationally. Basketball's number one growth engine for the particularly in China and if I Nike united Seiji what's gonna allow me to sign more basketball talents. This allows me to do that which then allows me to sell more internationally down the road in my off base on that. No you're not at all night the Yankees you point out. Re. Generating more and more rapidly from. You know I don't know necessarily. If the Chinese consumer. Particularly cares about US aptly understand. The national. Depth protest. You know will be totally. Young black American perfectly on a two day. That Chinese consumers are still actually is when it beat American larger than life. Our you know offices property right and that includes. Michael Jordan. You know now an NBA don't nervous of course those statements board in. To be here and pick on the basketball court has yet. Chicago Bulls six time NBA champion that are that are parents so a lot I think it you know night he realizes that. China and other emerging markets continue to be very strong focus and that didn't need be able to but for word. Having a bit of a backlash in the US market from some older or conservative consumers that they aren't really courting. Let's talk about how big debt backlash could be if we take a look how much you know Nike is selling domestically. They're North American revenue is somewhere in the ballpark I think between like 1415. Billion dollars. If we're looking out a year from now how much of a hit can they afford to take in the US and still have this work for. Mean I don't think they've really want to see. Need nature it in the US because revert one of the reasons why Nike's stock years ago. Was one of the worst performers in the ballot had been struggling wanna that there is this sense that they were in their way. In the US net heated one in particular. Companies that has enjoyed. Search I think Nike. Athlete is not to be. North American. Revenues falling dramatically even if it's so I'll be overstated both. Will that actually happened. The big question I always find. That be complaint social media. Are something you think with the greatest ball because you in nature of the beast people don't go on Twitter normally. To talk about the things they like fortunately. Social media tends to attract I think people that like to comply. And that that means that the witnesses who are angrier going to be louder than the ones that are quietly going to footlocker and find more like you. Paul do you see any pushed back from an in this is something that I find interesting. They pushed back potentially coming from college athletic departments that are sponsored by Nike at this point is is that something that potentially is a concern for them. In losing some of those avenues. I think it's possible but I haven't seen any major universities are the NCAA. You more broadly. I take any particular stance against night he just beat is. On a cap and being used in the act. So. I think obviously bears watching whether or not eat the you know the beat themselves Yates you know the double play. Now. I can imagine that on his aggressive at the game at so many. Popular. Well the after air and have a the American ale you know that art means start that lead. Can't imagine. Like children in the day coming out plastic thank you for being there I think that app. Paul has got about thirty seconds left there's a real quick. At what timeframe can react accurately gauge whether or not this has been a success for the how long do we have to wait. I think we probably need to lead to you know a couple of months I don't think we're gonna get much guidance in there. Next quarterly report if you meet the candidate on they're really to be reporting about. In the quarter and indeed in August. Just to get worked out of the pack school sort of you know was sent from ninety but you know what we see at the holidays in the be that you can run probably. Pretty aggressively during the the NFL season despite all the talk about the ratings speak. There's still no NFL is the generate a lot of done TV viewership you know I think a lot of people killed app be breeding problems that now. Gergen Paul we got to run thanks again and we'll get to the next week. Oh Paul Monica firm CNN money talking about ninety quick market check Dow was off fourteen points S and he's up to NASDAQ is up 26. Oil right now down 25 cents a gallon gold while the dollar forty. Ounce for ounce barrel by the way. Whatever goal per barrel all the time we have we'll see on Monday.
