This is the financial exchange with Barry Armstrong and chunks of you're exclusive look at business and financial news affecting your day your city your world. Stay informed and up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and chuck Exxon. Friday here on the financial exchange and we are talking train at coffee. And it hawks. The heck is that all about it is Friday here wrapping up the week before the long weekend for all Labor Day. Some view likely on the road already listened to us some of these same as we get on the road and try to avoid traffic. There's no avoiding the trap you can't avoid it beat you just don't move you are going to hit traffic this week if you try to go anywhere the only way you can avoid it. Can elect the quote from mortgage the only way to win is not play it would of witchcraft is not go anywhere Maleeva 3 in the morning. You'll still fun to be traffic you'll still find traffic especially on 93 south guaranteed but we start today talking a little bit about trade. And specifically with regards to trade between the United States and Canada the US has set. A deal deadline. Of today. In order to get a deal done the reason being that the United States in order to get any trade deal approved by congress has to notify congress to give the mean ninety day window to of it to view of the deal. Before voting on it. And the reason why today is kind of that deadline. Is because in Mexico. You have a new president coming into office on December 1 meaning you have to get this deal done by November 30 nor have the current administration. Being able to vote on it. So we've been talking about this for the last couple days and you know whether or not we think we get a deal done. I'm of the opinion there's too much momentum to not get a deal done yeah I mean it is too much to lose for Canada by not getting one done. They I agreement the things that have been agreed to buy the big items have been agreed to with the US and Mexico all benefit. You know we've got the seventy some odd percent of cars need to be manufactured here in the United States non. A large percentage of labor has to come from factories employ people at more than sixteen dollars an hour with an agent of both masters Canada act into the US and so exactly. So I can't see a good reason for Camden not to sign onto this. I mean but that it's getting shoved down their throw back a. I do see a good reason okay one of that one of the big things that Canada wants to keep that the US is pushing to remove. Is a the effectively. A set of special courts or any of the three member countries can go in challenge tariffs imposed by one of the others. And this is one that Canada considers very important because. Really when you look at you know how things work between the countries. Candidate X if you look at candidates reliance on the United States for its exports we make up like 70% of their exports Jeff answered their big concern is say if you get ready these courts. All of that export to the US is potentially you know at risk. And this is something that the drug administration has been pushing. To get rid of they've been able to persuade next go to say hey you don't need the use. The question is can they persuade Canada you know of of the same argument and if they can't okay the question is does Canada say. And we don't wanna do this but there's there's too much momentum anyways and if we lose out in this were probably gonna lose the best deal we can get so but let's go along with that anyway so yeah I mean. I don't know what the solution is if these courts don't exist. What did it this solution is that there's no means for countries to go in in and challenge beyond it in the implementation of tariffs bright future. And meaning the only solution if you disagree with it is to snap terrorist back in place it seems like. The courts is a really reasonably good solution as long as you can and I would imagine there might just be some changes to the courts rather than doing waive them entire. The argument that the trump administration is making is that the existence of these chords. Is a threat and infringes on American sovereignty. Well you need to have some mechanism to resolve these differences otherwise people take matters into their own hands when that's by imposition of tariffs whether that's by Reno. Fighting by other means you know that these the things that happened and so having these courts tends to prevent problems from spiraling in the coming larger. There there's no doubt. That it does impose somewhat on America's sovereignty to do whatever they want but the point of view existing in the in the greater world community is to do what ever you want. Is to try to me and make positive deals and so forth in order you know to continue to grow your influence and so. I look at this and it's one that I think you're probably. It if if I were a betting man. And sometimes they do he Toledo casinos so. My guests. Is that candidate ends up leaving because I I don't think the alternatives very palatable to them. The alternative is okay you say no we're not going to do this. Trump administration's not going to be throat and that they're likely going to impose higher tariffs then and say what you lost your best chance to deal. Is now we don't know if we get this thing through before the next Mexican president comes and office. The average age I think the candidates can't stuck between. A largely ends up about two rocks here in gather their pride and agree to it because what's. He can't get left behind me you just can't say OK we're just gonna let the United States and Mexico greener deal were not participate in it. And I don't see what the other solution is for them. Turning now to us some trade further from home the drug administration yesterday. Specifically the president's. Coming out and saying that he would likely back. Imposing tariffs on 200 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods by the end. Of next week once the review peer that began in August. Expires. And this was something that it didn't throw markets into a tailspin but he sub you know brief 7580 point dip that was held there. And so it is something the concern market some what. I continue to look at this and with just about all these tariffs that have been implemented. I continue to say that. These are not long term things that are going to go into effect. In you'll get just about all the cases where we've seen this the threats with Mexico he looks like we're gonna get something done we're not getting everything we ask for their neck and everything dated. But yeah it looks like you get something done. So I look at this and this would have a meaningful impact on the US economy and what it is going to drive prices up. If it goes into effect I just I'm kind of at the point now where with these announcements SA OK I'll believe when I see. I mean but let's let's. Draw the differences between our treatment with China and the European Union Canada and Mexico I mean. We have already levied fifty billion dollars of tariffs on Chinese goods yup. So it's not like we've been threatening and not following through with China we did follow through fifty billion dollars with. It's true and in if you do you see this here here's the thing that the previous round of fifty billion dollars in tariffs. Was largely on things that operate in the background for most people it was onion certain pieces of and equipment and so forth but it it was an eye on things that people are buying every day. This round this round of tariffs on 200 billion dollars worth of goods. Would be on things people by averaging sneakers handbags at showing waiting gets too intricate as our actors thing you know. All of these different things would end up being subject to these terrorists and that means consumers are paying higher costs in specifically they're paying higher cost any time. Where you do not have the ability to adjust supply chains instantly which means that the potential supply of goods is shrinking as well. In this does pose a significant inflationary threat if if these are implement yeah I mean. I agree with you that I don't think this is going to be long term in place you better hope it's not is this is the kind of thing that if it is long term. This has real meaningful impact on growth and on new people's abilities spend money. But I I'd. Personally do think that this this might going to places special for the short term I I can see this going into place within the next two months. And it's you escalating this trade dispute there were having with China pretty considerably but it now maybe it's not too and Billy maybe it's another fifty billion but I I would be. I put the likelihood of something like this happening maybe not the full 200 billion let's other likely than not to and that I'm not think that but I think there's a pretty good chance thirty to 40% chance that this happens in the next two months. I'm of the view and I think there's a a lower chance of this happening. Because I think the consequences are significant if adults and there are in so that's why I look at this nice say. Is that this is a tough one and also you have to remember. China is gonna come back and they have 200 billion dollars worth of imports from the US that they can tax the same way. We did they don't import. As much as we do that that's why we're in the situation part of why we're in the situation. So their response isn't necessarily going to be with retaliatory tariffs could be with the currency devaluation it could be. Me of forming partnerships and other countries. There are other things that they can do it could be exerting further influence on North Korea you know so you look at this isn't a symmetric situation where the US is fighting here. And it has the potential you know if you do see this go through to get somewhat ugly. Does that mean you got to keep in mind to for people that don't follow this story closely. The impacts the the impact of imposing tariffs between the United States and China is far more heavily felt on the economic side of China. That it is here in the United States. The big question is which country has more political willingness to deal with the tariffs and very easily argued that China can deal with the political fallout of terrorists the United States with our election system with the and not being a dictatorship. Yup can't deal with that. In and specifically when you talk about it it's your effectively hitting the willingness of the American people. Vs the willingness of the Chinese state it in and that's where the differences. If Americans have to start paying instead of paying forty dollars that new pair of sneakers they're paying fifty. You know it's okay how long in my going to be won this with China just says. Hey this is what we're do when you figure out how to deal with. It is so it's it's a very different approach in China if you look at how we've gotten this point for the last twenty years. Honestly the long game better than the United States and and I mean that's president terms point. Yep it's it again it's it's how we got here. So that's something that is im not watching today but. When we come back next week that's going to be something you wanna pay attention to let's take a quick break here when we come back will be talking about Europe. And we're here to talk about a brand new product available for landlords it's called the. Z deposit dot net Jake what. Barry we created a security deposit product. To really help the problem a lot of blame border facing with security deposits which is. You know one it's time consuming to open the small enough security upon numbers. And yet to go into the branch gets signed paperwork in their small dollars and Andy turn. And it's likely to complaints in Massachusetts really tough for landlords and security deposit accounts. You have to give them ten in certain forms when they open up the count and you have to pay interest and you. Did you do all this canal through Z deposit all of that you can do Thursday deposit it literally takes about forty seconds opened up an account. We handled the automatic forms that are generated in the count number department commission statement all that sent the tenant. And interest descent of the tenant automatically every year. This sounds like something it's going to be very valuable to large landlords it might have 200 tenants and small landlords that might only have five tenths yeah absolutely with a large landlords. It's just a lot of hassle to managed so we make dad very efficient. For the small landlords a lot of them are afraid of nineteen complaints done correctly some of them some of them don't even like taking security deposits were hopeful that this hope and do that. Get rid of the whole fall back spring forward thing that we do with our clocks around they do with their clocks for apparently the European Commission. He is voting today to whether or not permanently stay on summertime. If he gets through the European Commission that it goes the European Parliament and they asked to be approved by the twenty European Union member states. An order for this to go into effect we've had talks about this in Massachusetts over the last couple years with the commission coming out and saying hey we think this is something. That the end that we should do and moved to Atlantic time. I don't know why the heck we still do this spring forward fall back crap. To be honest. Yeah I mean if the argument the argument that. The main reason quite frankly is because people on it and changing just. You don't like change we used to human sacrifice we don't do that any network. The arguments I've heard for not. They are habits I've heard on his Labor Day and a little different on busy this weekend but it's okay animal. Effort for not doing I've heard the argument is well you know if you don't do it this can be darker in the morning and kids getting to school is gonna be more dangerous that's the only legitimate argument I've heard in masters Feinberg school writes I don't the schooled I agree. Move to high and delta have found what than people say oh alumni can be you'll see my kids off to school with a move your work there half what times opening bell like 7 in the morning get. Don't have to wait that Errol it's way to it's too early for the kids anyway is that all other drop every study that's been done shows that kids don't actually like it's not just that kids don't wanna beat schooler and a morning. Most studies show that he actually think early in the morning so yeah there's definitely a work around in regards to the kids being. At a bus stop it's pitch black there's ways to go around NASA EEZ you can figured out you know there's there's ways to deal with that but. This does bring us to our poll question of the day up right now on financial exchange show dot com. Should we stop the semi annual changing of the clocks I have voted yes Mike. Yes doctor aria okay so we. Like the only thing that Arizona has really gotten right over the last decade offense arizonans is great state love visiting but. They have not been doing daylight savings time for a I think decades and that they got the red. So were three for three on this in terms of saying look we wanna get rid of the spring forward fall back. But head over to financial exchange showed dot com and vote in our poll question. If the F things that you wanna tell us lake chuck you really don't and I don't think you understand the issue you can text us that it's 63566. As well. Or if you wanna tell us that were right we'd love to hear that too because you know it's nice to hear sometimes that you guys are right on the ball on C we've tried this. Hole before I think goes a little over a year ago probably around this time and down we've generalize this whole question to be more of you know the semi annual. Change of the clock whereas last time we were like no we should fall back coach sprint forward to summer once. News is you don't wait too confusing this is just sure we get rid of changes semis and just you know say look time exists as time exit arts. If Massachusetts doesn't have during this part of it was apparent move to the Atlantic time zone off the eastern times and that's a whole this is not part of this poll question that as a whole different. Separatist issue that Massachusetts has been talking about doing which. That kind of frightens me that don't really wanna be on a different times you get right alright time change now doesn't frighten me I think it's just a stupid idea to be a different time zone in New York. Was a world have to revolve around New York minute. And has just economic. At one point Boston was the economic public bring it back. Aaron let's bring it back. Let's talk a little bit about this deal from Coca-Cola let's Coca-Cola is spending five point one billion dollars to buy coffee company that almost no one in the United States hurt by. Exactly why well first off Coca-Cola derives more than half its revenue from overseas so. While it is a US based company not that focused on purely just what's going in state is gonna get a lot of revenue from overseas overseas is a very very important market to them. So there's been a five point one billion dollars on company called post a coffee. It's coffee chain with 4000. Outlets and so immediately. Puts Coke local raid into competition. With your Starbucks of the world with you Duncan's of the world. You know with economies of the world. And do you really you know make them a major player in this area. I think this biggest cost like you said does not have any US locations. This gives Coke the ability to really get in their compete with those guys. With a whole new brand they don't have to buy when the existing ones here in the answers or start from scratch have either review bin. In a coast at any point. A feeling to have when I was in Europe Australia has for anyone that doesn't believe they have any idea about this grander hasn't seen it before I didn't think that I had any idea but I went and searched the logo. And I looked at and said you know what. I don't know that I've actually shot there one that definitely seen a logo up there it's a maroon load though I've cost a copy circular. And while I wasn't sure if I had actually. Drank their four I'd definitely recognize the brand and I think a lot of Americans probably will feel it every randomly seem amended airport to he had MIT. Thought the other coast sea which is different policies different yeah no that's different that what ya that's with the tag no. It's. Umpire. I think a big piece this isn't just Coke saying okay we want this retail footprint but also being it was OK we own the intellectual property here so we can take these coffee drinks and and bottle them and resell it. In and I think they look at their current distribution and say. Look we can we can use you know distribution through stores and so forth as as one way to grow this but hey let's let's get into. Vending machines that we have access to listed in the movie theaters let's get you know all these different places that Coke already is that coast it is not. And that's why you'll get it you say okay this is not something that's gonna make Coke a ton of money in the next twelve to eighteen months. But if they execute right on rolling this out to roll that additional distribution. You could make a lot of sense for them on the parts. It can mean they're facing a fair bit of competition necessary and let that was nest they just signed a big deal with star to seven billion dollar licensing deal. To start selling Starbucks coffee retailer options I mean. Everyone wants to get into the the I'm of the opinion that the coffee space right now looks a lot like the beer space for ten or fifteen years ago than a few big players out there. But I think it's right for innovation ripe for competition and I wouldn't be surprised restart seat. More kind of what will we see with craft beer more craft off I'll probably you know things like that I think it is right innovation. But is it the people were looking for better products in the space talk the year starts as much on copies don't beer. Artery do. Time now for Wall Street watch a look at the market's performance so far today until Berrian jug right here on the financial exchange radio network. I'm for Wall Street watch Mike let's start off first with American outdoor brands. For Rowland Smith & Wesson. Yeah now with American outdoor these days well. Right now the stock is up 32%. This. I'd keep in mind they are still well below there there hide from a year ago and I mean going back to 26 fewest hours trading it. Thirty dollars a share. Cover reported just gross profit 21 cents a share which was nine cents above estimates. Today. Stronger than expected dragged into the whole year and current quarter's jokes. Stock is up big but this has been in one Harlem volatile stock of the last she's five five years. Stood about Lim and our people buying more yoga pants. Apparently and they're buying more audio appearance on line especially which is helping out. Second quarter profit of 71 cents a share which beat out estimates of 49 cents. Revenue beat expectations. And again be a boost in online sales which is what a lot of analysts and what that's because nobody likes African Mort these days they wanna see what you're doing with your online sales and lemons. Really hit on all strides here so stocks up nearly 14% on this news. You know I keep waiting for this company Ted. Have some sort of missed that they seem like one of those fashion brands that comes in and goes out of style but. Man. It tough to tough to argue with these results. Yes I mean they've had a couple small things here and there and they've had to deal with there's the issue I think was probably six or seven years ago where they were accidentally making sees three of the pants and didn't realize that. And they have an issue accuracy here to sexual harassment they did have a sexual harassment issue I don't know if there was a CEO or CFO there I can't remember who was. In. But they did have an issue with management with the sexual harassment case it remembered as the specifics on it. But you know this is a company that. From twelve to twenty sixteenths didn't move on but they've been on the run the last year and a half now with since may of two point seven team. That's gone from 52 dollars a share 256. That makes me with some. For for a company in May yield progressive you know it's it's amazing there is a company here. That is worth when he won and a half billion dollars making tight pants. That's that that's what they do it ended there worth twenty billion dollars because so toys restaurant. At don't figure. Toys 'R' Us went bankrupt owned by the way there's a money losing electric car company that's where seventy billion dollars and via. Years ago does so. Labor big gas prices hitting a four year high. It does look like were in in sight of any relief coming anytime soon either a year ago by the way. Gas prices on the national average to 45 a gallon two day to 84 counts of forty cents higher. Gallon by gallon base. So yeah you know we always see these stories that yet again prices are getting jacked up for Labor Day and it's absolutely true. I I see our current gas prices so we use this article says averages 285. AAA saint's days averaged 2838. I don't think it's prohibitively expensive yet I don't according to the point where anyways changing behaviors to 85 guests and myself did you know him. Like three to pay 293 and Korean AAA today's average gas prices to mediate in Massachusetts. In New Hampshire your epic 278. Can dedicate you guys are down or up at the Rio nearly 304. Rhode island's two leading Bahrain means to 84 Vermont's 290s. I know I look at that and I think until you hit. Mid to high threes I don't think anybody cares. Seems like that's the case. You know it's Ivan talked to anyone who's changing plans driving. Because of gas prices I will say I don't know of anyone any view of looked at prices for flights anytime recently she. Oh no. Now I've seen for Florida its chief will know what time a year. Like next month. Yes like a real if well if if you're looking at anything like it seems like prices on flights are up from the last couple years like my parents living North Carolina and I remember. Even as recently as a couple of years ago used to be in grant tonight I'd have to take early flights to do it but I can get round trips. To and from North Carolina for about 250. Europe around 350 to 365 now. Well I mean if you don't see the actual ticketing prices of of airline tickets going up. The cost of air travel hole is still be take a look at the baggage fees that are being. Not only implemented across the board increased across that George Lucas up there and all the stuff that you have to deal with that in terms of avoiding basic economy fares is you can actually crises before handed things like. On the others not to mention you know I think a lot of us are spending money on the TSA pre checked I think if you fly more than three times in a year that's pretty useful enough that's well. That's a fair bit of money too so yeah I mean the cost of flying even if the ticket prices and going up all that much. You're still you're still feeling it. Folks it's. Pretty hard to find a bank it as checking and savings accounts that provide a decent return. But if you're in the market for one. So I can see in all kinds of signs whether you talk and you know billboards whether you're talk in ads on TV radio. All kinds of advertisements about Labor Day sales. Doria. Across the board which ones are actually. Worthwhile. Well. A lot of us from Hampton from what I'm reading in this article. A lot of them you really wanna avoid it's only the big one to avoid which totally makes sense to me is the fall apparel. Everyone's taken Labor Day weekend your thing about it. Slightly cooler temperatures and loading up on fall apparel and people get really excited around here about the changing needs and pumpkin spice lattes. Majority Al regarding hours getting to the point where your social media feed just consists of eight in endless stream of four women jumping wearing flannel shirts and at apple orchard. With the leafs who have floating around them it's it's just it's it's all it ends of being. And but that is apparently one of the big areas that people say don't do not by file apparently weakened you just wait wait too much it is a good time to buy some are closing them. The self that is now out of seas and ashore this is my strategy was just about everything you know when I go on by Christmas lights. July day after Christmas. Mom. You were you walk in any Walgreens CVS there's only 500 lights for a dollar so when you buy Halloween candy. The day after Halloween honestly you lives I don't think I've bought Halloween candy like five years can we assume what's left over. Alessio I just haven't had to. But day after Christmas best time to buy lights and decorations is everyone's trying to Muster. You know it's it's as if it's what I tend to do. Apparently there are some things that you can approached cautiously in terms of sales appliances. You may find some decent bargains but you do have to look around a little bit. Gas grills Labor Day typically does have some pretty good real sales just as you get into the into the model years well. Mattresses I don't know five by better understand it I anyway Jason on a mattress sales like I feel like I'm always getting ripped off when I look mattresses. Like yes so long where you can buy it came for queen price or some PS like us but now. But I am across the board I am fairly certain the next time to buy matches Richard new reasons going to be for price seven more years on mine I'm gonna. I keep reading I think that two of the online purchases and what they're doing to cut out yup. I don't understand why there are so many. Being mattress store where all over the place there's got to be some outrageous cost going into what chuck chuck explained it a couple weeks ago why there's so many stores. It it's pretty much that they have no advertising costs yeah they they don't have to do anything because they know you're only buying a mattress once every ten years or something right that. And so pretty much what they do is they find real estate in a really cheap locations. But you get some square footage and then just have a bunch of mattresses so there's almost no overhead business like no hearing cost to have an historic. And that's why you see so many of them. So that's what not to buy on Labor Day weekend. Are either view Major League soccer fans mill. I am biased that that didn't go well I hesitate a cyber attacker idea and now I know regardless though so I want to be a Major League soccer fan for an eye due to be in icing is in a couple different ways number one. I think the product it's not great soccer now. But it's gotten a lot better since it first started it's it's at least competitive now it's still nowhere near the quality of view of the top European leagues like the Premier League Euro league yours the only ones leaguer or anything like that. But it's it's better. The issue in New England has always been that you have to go down to Foxboro exactly ordered to see an MLS game. That's glad I've never been out of wanna make the trek for to see a couple guys kick a ball around enough and and I think if you had a in MLS stadium that had maybe seventeen to 25000 seats somewhere that it's easily accessible by being a public transportation whether it's on the Red Line orange going green on whatever it is in and around Boston. I think you would have a rabid fan an hour ago I think I think you would have can I am looking at just you know all of the people in and around the city that you know. Have played soccer at some point in their lives and I look at the fact that. You have significant populations from central Latin America who would you be interest incentive where soccer is their sport to begin with and I look at all of these things and I say. If we not figured this out. I think it would be a ingenious idea to put it somewhere near the new casino whenever. If you could put it on public transit near that area where you could go and catch. Gave. Saturday afternoons. Chiefs are very good tickets can be cheap fare tickets are going to be relatively cheap to go see one of these games I would assume. In go catch a soccer game and they had the casino afterwards I think that would be huge it. Three locations that have been talked about recently. You've got the and in the region would bring this up there's unit chatter right now about the meet the municipal hole lot down. Just south of Boston near where the old Boston Globe building was. There's been a lot of chatter about that eighteen acre site there's there's talk that they're putting it up for beating Andean some developer might want that's it's that's been one that's been looked at. There's that inner belt area up in in Somerville which is neo a lot of older industrial buildings that near some of armor still use but some of them are to this point has been on every development happening in that area. And then. You have heard some talk about you know what you're talking that ever say or close to Suffolk downs and things like that yeah there's been the three areas that have been talked about. These are forgotten what on yeah I mean if you see a few reports out there you know craft the craft had something lined up in terms of the expo center in UMass com. A Boston that area yeah in that deal fell through. Nom but they're still looking in that setting area. To back is I feel like there's such a robust community for soccer. That that could near take place in in and around Boston and Dallas TT hasn't developed because. Primarily I think the location of the stadium. For I think that is a beat all these huge you know people are willing to go down there for patriots game out is their familiar with and they're not willing to go there on a regular basis for soccer. Yeah I mean if you go go. You know spent fifteen bucks on a ticket to soccer game in the city in Anglo for dinner after or whatever before hand you know that's a good that's a good night in all I do in. And and by the way beyond the attendance figures bear this out. The revolution are the eat the worst. Team for attendance in. MLS they average about 191000. People per per game that was 2017. You'll get some of the top teams. And greatly look Seattle's a whole different cat in Seattle have just 43000 people in game watches notes is that what they're soccer nuts like it's it's what they do Seattle real but like look at some of these other teams Orlando averages 25000. To game. Orlando. You know lake yeah that's Toronto averages 27000 a game. You know even ego will get smaller cities in us at Portland averaged 22000 game. Boss Jordan 10% under Portland or politeness is nothing much to do in Portland. A port people of Portland are always naturally suspicious of anything new. So it's you know you kind of soccer like this was this public before what are you doing here. So I just take a look at this Nancy there's there's reason to believe that if you got a stadium in or near Boston you have some you'd be really good things. Com hi everybody it's Berrian Todd with you here with a quick tip from the legal exchange showed doc common. Todd I wanted to talk to you about the five year waiting period for Medicaid eligibility. As it applies to use in the medic and a light the state so let's say like three I give by house away. I give it to the kids. Does that five year clock start ticking if I'd done elect the state yes so if you're taking your house and many people do this if you take in your house and transferred to the children. And reserves the right to live there you know does that create a five year Medicaid out absolutely it and that's the definition of elect's right getting your stuff away. Give it away but you you do reserves that right to live so that's at least something that you're keeping which which is certainly helpful to you post to pay the property taxes and maintain the property. The property taxes and maintaining is all done by the light tennis you know. But I I want to stay on the five year waiting period just from an a because so many people think that it doesn't apply either to the like the state arrangement like you mentioned very. And also too when they make you hear people I can give 141000 dollars a year away because I I can do that and not pay any gift taxes that's true. That's an IRS regulation. You'll pay any gift taxes but you will have a five year waiting period for Medicaid eligibility. So it does apply to almost all transfer some including. A life estate arrangement. So yes it does apply. You know Wal-Mart for black Fridays. Again this actually I will say this no if if you are willing to fight your way through a Wal-Mart on Black Friday I respect that went like I do lake. There's not many of these almost nowhere I'd rather not be. Put it and they don't call it I don't. I don't but I am I have a lot of its its grudging respect for the people show up and actually fight through that again would they get to let's laughter we have to get this lobster story so. About a week ago up in in Maine on route one. There's a crash that spilled 7000 pounds of live lobster under the street. This happened I'm like 85 degree day so you know. I can make the case that look you probably could have eaten some of these off the street and Gail had a nice couple I think there's I think it's a diminution of who apparently Peta the people for ethical treatment of animals. They sent a letter to the State's Department of Transportation. Wanting to put a five foot tall tombstone memorial near the crash site in Brunswick memorializing these deadly lobsters they said quote. This sensitive crest stations experienced an agonizing. When the truck rolled over in their bodies came crashing down on the highway. Peta hopes to pay tribute to these individuals who didn't want to die with the memorial urged people to prevent future suffering. By keeping lobsters and all other animals off their plates. Which put a memorial for missing out on the tasty lobster for humans like that his name turned him down by the way it is just paints an us ourselves. Now it appears just completely ignoring the fact that these 7000 pot pounds of lobsters that quote unquote died in agonizing death. I mean there are all about to be boiled in a pot right. Are okay. There weren't about to be like shout back into the ocean and I. Free Willie style back onto water look here here's the way I look at your lobster would you rather die and hot over at the bottom of the pool. Hot tub. I'm sure you know like all right all they have very easy decision so. I and I'm happy to report that mean did successfully turned down this competition have this lobster tombstone erected. But. My guess is we have not heard the end of Peta. You know unfortunately all the time we have on this hour of the financial exchange but we'll be right back with a whole lot. More. I folks it's chuck and Mike from the financial exchange and we're talking today about how to invest in a rising interest rate environment specifically. With regards to say what kinds of sectors performed well. What kind of sector struggled when rates are going up Michael we talk about that and interest for everything mortgages. Credit cards. Yes they are technically paying out a little bit more on CDs and deposits as well but they usually more than making up for that on the on the charges at when we look on the downside because as much as there might be good news and some sectors there's always another area that ends up struggling what parts the economy what types of stocks might struggle. If rates go up well two big areas tend to be utilities and real estate on the real stateside it's pretty obvious if mortgage rates go up -- people are going to be able to afford less real estates that makes sense utilities it's a little bit less obvious but effectively a lot of investors by utilities because they're seen as replacement to CDs or bonds in some cases because their relatively safe investments when interest rates go up sometimes they sell those safe investments in favor of those CDs and bonds folks we've given you a couple ideas to think about with regards to how to invest in a rising rate environment but there's a brand new guide out from Armstrong advisory group and only up to you to get it is call 800. 393. 4001. You know Labor Day weekend. It it seemed like it used to start somewhere around 2 PM on the Friday before Labor Day I think it starts at around 2 PM on the Thursday before Labor Day now exceed. A lot photos Tuesday. Has anyone worked this entire week aside from moss build it it really doesn't anyone is this reeks of my year. Now apparently Mike's working harder but everyone else kind of relax and kicking back now estimate your listening to west in your car on your waste somewhere maybe your listened to us. I don't know inside while you're getting ready to head out into with looks to be beautiful weekend by the way for a pro Labor Day it's I know there are some questions about whether or not we get some rain looked at feet. Looks great now looks violence tell you that much but we get a whole bunch of business news to dig into just two you know pennant. You know make things real before you get to get away for the weekend and so let's start off like talking a little bit about. This potential trade deal between the US and Canada. It seems like we're close but we don't know how close just because. One of the key issues is potential trade protections. For the three member countries of NAFTA the US Mexico Canada. The US wants to get rid of some of these protections candidate wants to keep them and we're not sure who's gonna budge. Yeah and I would be surprised if this were the sticking point for. For candidates and shut down these negotiations. In the United States and Mexico have come to a pretty firm agreement here. The courts are important but I don't know if if Kim is gonna stay the entire agreement on on that one issue. I tend to agree with you I am. I am thinking that we are going to get something by the end they'd go. Give Mikey and his foreign ministers talking right now as we speak. And said they do not have a deal currently via and this is as we're speaking right now at about 11 o'clock. So there's no deal done yet but there obviously is still time to get something done. Prior to the end of the day. Either just talk about Labor Day weekend weather have to apologize to all Florida listeners. Looks like you guys have mostly cloudy and thunderstorms in the whole Labor Day weekend. That's kind of what Florida ends up within the summer a lot delayed or detains Italy's afternoons. Afternoon thunderstorms Dallas come on up to the northeast folks we got to 7580. Degrees and sunny all weekend Q flight. And actually I have been Dallara Boston's pretty cheaper yeah it's he's not bad at the moment. Warren Buffett had it was it was his birthday yesterday I believe what 102000. Well it it was that why he was being interviewed by. Not poses semiannual La CNBC appearance though it was birthday Soledad right now August 30 and return Jerry 83. He turned 87 though 87 years old yesterday still looks great for 87 by the way Warren Buffett my daughters have the same birthday. While they can be investing geniuses are congratulations are so Warren Buffett are talking about apple which is one of his largest holdings. And you know he said quote it would be me of responding to rumors that it would be quote a very poor idea. For apple to invest in Tesla. And also was critical of you on mosques saying that if you miss beat. You corrected immediately referring to mosques funding secured tweet so. Pretty critical need Warren Buffett doesn't really rock the boat too much of his public statements so for him to say this. It's kind of a big it is kinda big come from him. It's significant let's let's tread back to the apple comment because he did caveat it by saying first I'd support whatever Tim Cook does. But I think it be a very forward idea to get into the out of business so he did say you know I invested in apple. Probably for large part because of the success of CEO Tim Cook and yet his faith in his excuse and strategies. But he did you come out and say yeah I'm not sure that going after you know going after when these companies agreed to gain out of business. But his commentary about. Ilan mosque I I think that's producing. It again Warren Buffett doesn't usually say much he yeah he's kind of the classic you know speak softly and carry a big state button. When he says something like this you know that this is indeed something where you wanna take notes he's he's been pretty critical mosque there. And it's something that I did find pretty notable. In in looking through this interview. So one of the big bankruptcies of the last year was Toys 'R' Us going out of business unfortunately. And it's. The question. Rose after that. To pick up the slack and it seems like Wal-Mart is making a concerted effort to try. To win over former towards our shoppers they are going to be expanding their assortment of Torre's. By 30% at all brick and mortar locations and can offer 40% more toys on Wal-Mart dot com. By the way have you guys ever shopped for Tories at Wal-Mart especially around the holiday season no don't how how. Already I this is going to be a pretty if they're gonna be expanding by 30% that's a pretty league expansion. It's a complete disaster don't hear when you go into Wal-Mart or on the holiday season towards ever there's stuff all over the floor shower you can't you iron or anyone around did it actually works there it's a complete train wreck at least in my experience. But then to expand it 30% they're going to be adding a lot of inventory to the store unaware that but it. And in the is going to be a lot of competition for these shoppers target and party city you're also making some pretty big efforts Kohl's and JC Penney are also getting what. S on this article one of the stores this it was also expanding on their toy selection was five below. What is five boast. Five below is almost like a Dollar General. And today they're all it's mainly toys but it's all stuff under five box. OK so it's it's primarily aimed at lately. Kids and things like that he had a it's it's largely kid stuff but I put it in a similar category to. And Dollar General and those types of stores. And I am. But yeah with the market focus I always. Get this confused you remember that movie that came out like ten years ago call eight below. About the sled dogs. And the guy who likes amount survived that this sled dog I don't I don't think that exist it I think they squared does that. I swear it does I was gonna confuse its oil and never have I've never actually know what five below actually sells to have never been in one. Non now is getting confused with I have on ericsson's where's there's great experience. This does bring us to our next story which is about Dollar General and even with a stronger economy via the economy yeah that would typically new lead you to think. A not as many people would be shopping at Dollar General maybe they're going a little bit more upscale and upstream from them. Dollar General still is is is really crank in its. They either they're caught their sales are way out people are spending more money in their stores some columns. You know that this the reason the Dollar General sites is that. In spite of the fact that wages have been going up unemployment and coming down some people are you know people are getting jobs and getting paid more. They cited two specific areas obviously rent and health care costs have been offsetting any of the wage gains that they're their customers have been seen. And so basically they're saying you know in spite of the fact that people's wages are going up they're still shopping at our store because net net would inflation they're not really seeing anything to their bottom line. How much of dollar general's merchandise could potentially be impacted by these additional tariffs that could. Come through from the US raising tariffs and 200 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods in one would think it would be pretty darn significant write go to Wal-Mart most of stuffs me and show you go to intelligent and darn near everything. So this this is the kind of story that may see prices you know moving upwards. If we do see that those additional tariffs go into effect. Next week as as potentially rumored at this point. We do have a poll question of the day up right now on financial exchange showed dot com Europe is the European Commission right now is meeting. Talking about whether or not they want to get greeted. Of the fall back in spring forward for their clocks and so our poll question today up on financial exchange showed dot com as. Should we stop the semi annual changing of the clocks Tucker what kind of results that we after the so far 73%. Of her listeners say yes. Let's stop the shenanigans are good guess semiannual changing of two walks and 26% say well I like changing and being miserable awful I'd be I'd be curious to hear from that point 6%. In terms of what reasons do you have for not wanting to change the clocks aside from wanting to be miserable. You know we got a few texts and earlier and you know one of the points that I had made is that. People are worried about kids having to get to school at the bus they are dark and those logistical things I figured I know but he he brings have a good or whoever Tex in here she brought up the good point that. You can't just change a school hours we tried to do this several times in several different communities and there's been. Massive backlash to it from the teachers' unions not going to change their contracts and from a number of different sources so that's a that's a reasonable point that. It is difficult to change logistics. Of school systems that have been in place for decades. I disagree I feel Adobe easy to just change just do it and. Our we're talking about and I'll get people are gonna complain about it heard that yet are good at all get along like appearances on them okay completely taken these things we can figure out. The news I don't think we should let just the fact that it hasn't worked before oh it's hard to do prevent us from doing stuff otherwise we would have never gone to the move. Controlling trivia is really the one piece of control that I have in my life and so we're gonna make a change here all right. We're not doing trivia based on Labor Day. Related trivia based on the movie Armageddon because I wanna do trivia based on the movie Armageddon those gentlemen worked very hard. Well they did they did you know it was if you think about it labored over that asteroid Armageddon it is really a triumph of American. Work you know it is it is oil drillers being called in to save the planet. And there's nothing more American or being really more worthy of celebration. Then something like that so the trivia question isn't Texas at 63566. I'll put together a tough when you're soloists were gonna do the third correct answer now just I don't know how many people are gonna actually get this once I don't either if you do. The year you've got some problems just like that measure inside Jack's head. If you ever go up so in the movie Armageddon they are supposed to drill 200 feet on the asteroid. The question is after two and a half hours how many feet have they actually drilled text us at 63566. If you know the answer the question. After two and a half hours how many feet have the oil drillers actually drilled on the asteroid. In the movie. Our media team member. Side note to remember which character was the first death in the Armageddon there is not that your question the first death yeah. Big celebrity. You mean like who actually died in real life donor know the character played by the actor. Though it was oh when Wilson. Well now there's a guy who died in the space shuttle explosion before him down and I don't know earlier dollars in the movie and a Nelson was on watch this one a few times almost was to host Earl again you may have you may very well I've got to party got to correct answer what do you make it very long is shocked and it and I'm Tony. We have the smartest listeners out there. Tony let's talk Dunkin' Donuts before we get to watch deep into the you know our Maggette an informal that we can go into Dunkin' Donuts investing a hundred million dollars in trying to. Fresh their brain they are so they're doing a lot of the stuff that Starbucks is our succeed that quite frankly do what it dedicated pick up areas digital kiosks. In expanded drive through windows they wanna make it. They're going and I guess a little bit different directions are far as they wanna make it as easy as possible for you to get in and out of the Dunkin' Donuts store quickly. That seems to be where a lot of dedication is going because they tried to do the setup a pay come spend your afternoon here at Dunkin' Donuts with yeah I five and you rate your thesis paper like Starbucks they don't have the environment it's not a market it's in and out in and out in and out that's what they need that's what they need volume. And speed turn over there they turn out to Cabrera hit a dunk don'ts for coffee. I mean on occasion I prefer Starbucks as I did yesterday it's a more pleasant experience you know now did you do animal lapin Duncan Virginia I wanted to added etc. area. It's there and now amid dire need of you know coffee el Al Gore Dunkin' Donuts they're my they're my my number two beaches. There are pretty good Colbert. Yes it's either way such an opt out but it's. About the same prices start off. Small done right there's also bit bigger yeah. But it's about the same price tag might be like forty cents cheaper. Version but Republican effort cheap coffee or whatever it's either it's probably McDonald's disease it's only here. A block or cubbies Jack Tommy's is actually pretty decent is it is don't do anything bettors for is who they have. Died. It is the door yeah I've I've had the it's been around for like a year or so but the wake up wrapped its cheap points for community it's a lot you know if you. Dornan need quick Biron before around golf and some like just grab it. Pretty unit so. But yeah I mean they covered it all the you know chicken salad and towards Allen goofy menu launch items literate of that stuff yet looks like mystic at a breakfast. They they had to clean things out and I think they did pretty decent job the tough part and doing that the tough part for Duncan to do this which I agree with their strategy here they don't actually own any of their stores there all franchised out. But that may apply a little bit tougher to implement any big changes across here across all their stores. I would pick terms of in terms of what. If you're trying to dictate to. You know a thousand different franchise owners how to change your stories verses is going into your own company owned stores and saying hey we're doing that's. I would imagine there's just more implementation difficult probably but I'm sure there's language in the franchisee contract that you know me and it has requirements for what they have to following concern that certain but the idea I could certainly see it being a bigger challenge than. It would only. Well they have one of their than test locations and Quincy was so it's really shout yeah that's really not that bad notes act or it is what are doesn't deal with it. Let's it's a brand new concept pretty much it speaks to pick up and go in order quickly sort of concept says. You know just how weight around and looking at the menu and you know wait for somebody to your coffee have you been in the area. I have not yet it's not a guy get a check it out I gonna do some show research. Interesting I was so let us know when you finally get up there be curious to see you know what your thoughts are we'll give you two about extra to purchase her. 250. And we had our we've talked over the last couple years about the struggles the NFL has had with their ratings. College football has a different kind of problem. They can't get people into their stadiums the same rate they used to and in this caught me by surprise yeah if accompanied by us. I don't know the cost behind this I don't either. I mean. Why why is college is college football just losing popularity because NFL football's popularity. I don't I'll play as a football thing it's I think it's an NCA I'm. I track I don't know so what's interesting I think I'm on the big college football forum. And I think that college football as opposed to the NFL where I think the product has gotten stale and and not very good the last few years. I think the product for college football the last few you'd better and phenomenal better than the NFL in what makes it so good in the equality of some of the games a particular early season matchup you see a lot more big name teams battling. In early September. There was that Texas Notre Dame game a couple years ago do you remember that we talked or don't would show on Kaiser when he was still there I've never been a huge college year that some of these games that you've had we're just have been. Unbelievable. And for whatever reason so. The announced attendance at at these stadiums is is struggling. Off seven point 6% in the last four years but the bigger problem. Is that oftentimes the number of tickets that are actually scanned at home games of the number of people show up as opposed to the announced attendance figures. Is only 71%. Of the attendance you see in the box score meaning of the team announced they've got 40000 people game they probably we have 29 house. Which by the way is probably a very baggage and bad indication for future attendance because if you have season tickets in your not showing up to the current games you're not gonna renew that taxis. One question that I do have you know a lot of these places on these over to your team's charging an awful lot they might just be charging too much. Quick break and we're talking lift on the back end. No privacy chuck and Mike from the financial exchange in. Wanted to talk a little bit about how to invest any rising interest rate environment the Federal Reserve has raised rates twice already this year. The most likely projection. Two more hikes over the remainder of the year and Mike let's talk first with bonds when we talk about bonds and conventionally US treasuries. Are they tend to move as rates go up well. They tend to be in adversely correlate the price abundance embers that correlated to the interest rates prevailing interest rates that are out there in this generally make sense you know if if interest rates go up and suddenly you can go by that same bond that's paying higher rate of interest that the price of your bond is going to be less valuable this gets inflated the longer term the bonded so if you have a ten year bond. That price impact is going to be a lot more significant than a five year. So effectively that the part of your portfolio that you typically think to be safe money and most stable. You might have to make some adjustments in order to make sure that you know losing principled during this time if you have the intention of selling as rates are going up. That's absolutely correct and if you haven't made those adjustments already this year you've likely seen in impact to your bond portfolio. Specifically when retirement you wanna take a look at what's called the duration of your bonds. And make sure that you know it's just at least in line with the overall marketplace and you understand the impact of rising interest rates on. There are additional people other than me who like bad scifi movies so there's that glitters is apparently seeking an advisor rather has hired an advisor. To prepare for an IPO in 2019 money. Do you think. Savvis thing about this and you know it's kind of a race to public between new currently if they've both been top mentoring to a nineteen. Do you think is a significant advantage to whichever one goes public first. No really I don't terrorists why. A bomb. And how I feel like whoever goes first is going to be okay these these at a legit guys you know for a customer's perspective they're gonna go with the the preferred. Public company. My only thinking is that they seem more legitimate feel like I think there's going to be a lot more fanfare around the IPO whichever one goes first. I think there might be more fanfare and think that means or I guess we talking which one of these can have the IPO that goes better which would this mean for the company known for Ari I don't think it's going to be particularly the significant for the company long term which one goes first in terms of which IPO goes off more successfully an overdose no matter what really the bigger name. I think they go early next year. And I then plans for awhile there's there's so much buzz about who were in the size of it. Is make it's it's it's gonna go it's gonna be sixty billion dollar company the data IPO there wears a lift is going to be. And maybe twelve billion. Yeah I mean I'm not saying that due respect I heard that lift is going to outsize Hubert terms their IPO but I think whoever goes first and it's gonna have. A bigger success vs expectations. Their IPO itself. Yeah ads ads and we'll get it so hard to compete against the uber name even though the uber named his new. Gone up against some pretty tough stuff it's male largely been self imposed over the past week we think people. Across the board for today. Has used to be rumor alive but I'm Seymour more people opt for left now. So I switched over to lift I'd about a year ago when they were going through all the problems with sexual harassment and Travis clinic or young drivers in the scandal after scandal was as they handle guys enough at this like Aaron wanna deal with the nanny. An and I haven't switch back because quite honestly a lot of drivers drive for both the many ways for acute at the same drivers no matter what. But I found the experience on lift they've done a nice job redesigning their app it's easy it's intuitive or very user from its easily schedule rise in advance if you want to or something like that so. I've moved over to lift and I'm never going back I. I think it's 5050. And that's just my opinion and I'm assuming on the list that you can request five passenger vehicles. You know. That was a big change you grade maybe a year ago that's that's attractive to wherever they can do that left him. So we are Labor Day coming up in well the weekend started yesterday I guess technically because. I've known works on this for a north this week. You know why why does no one worked the last week in August. If I could hour last week week of August I wouldn't work it really it's the last hurrah summer I just vacationing when it's this forever I. Couldn't agree with you more because what you go to yours said vacations bought it's just you know it's -- traffic is what it's like I hope all of the same people that were at home are now here and oh it's supported different location yeah he had been unified meet together at the grocery stores generally speaking we don't lobster roll the month of August you're looking at some of the best weather of the summer at least reliably you know the least amount of green usually yeah I mean what is part of the east and says that that's a big piece of it and so yet the history at the extra day of vacation it raises the question when is the best time to leave. In order to avoid Labor Day traffic backup dancers never that is you're getting hit it no matter what my problem my phone right now and I guarantee you they're all in all over the map on getting a bundle on my traffic you can get one bundled. Even if you don't like us that you get food but we're pretty good to think so they get 803934001. Affordable housing like it's not something that we talk about very often necessarily. But apparently former president Jimmy Carter was on CNBC. Yesterday was that before easel. He's 94 now or I deputy had to be up you still building houses I've figured he had to be up there. But he's saying that. We're not really doing enough to support affordable housing and quite frankly if you look at the prices of homes in the country now compared incomes. He's not wrong. I mean the question that is debatable is whether or not that's you've whether or not you believe that that's an area that government should be more involved corrects. By age he's not wrong that there is a shortage of it guy is just a question of you politically where you stand on. Having tax dollars go towards a forceful portable out. So. In in looking at this OK if if you look get a market based approach to figuring out how it is housing become more affordable. Eventually people say hey we can't afford to live here. And they moved to other places that are more affordable as they move demand in the places they left will drop. And so you end up with things balancing out over time. The problem is that takes years in the other problem is that you also need to very strictly enforce. Like safety housing codes which you're if you're go at the free market approach yup you know you have to make sure that you know thirty people are two living in apartments. Without fire safety you know without fire safety in the after really enforce that very strict. You know housing codes that we have in place if you're gonna go to pre market for. Well it in this also gets into you know some of the places that have tried to. Manage their housing stock and so forced. You know that they view things like rent control which does the exact opposite thing in terms of it ends up restricting movement and end up you end up with less affordable housing if you are not any rent control unit. You look at the New York City example of how they tried to impact the price of house I would ask is complete failure it was a disaster so you Eads. The question is there have been let me let me just. Interject in that there have been a number of studies that have shown that a very good way to get people off of public assistance is to start with house. Is that if you get them off off streets and into housing you can dramatically reduce the cost of supporting peppers. So there is an economic argument being made here that it's cheaper to house people that are on DO welfare services. As a first step of getting them off those services but it's a big up front and back. Let's take a break here and when we come back we're talking about Boeing winning a big navy contract for drones that's coming up right after this break. Part of the financial exchange in an instant. What you've done is you've reduced the amount of supply of housing that actually is subject to market forces. From 101000 units down to 9000 so a thousand people get a really good deal on rents okay which looked it's great for them it's there's there's no problem with them getting a good deal on rent. What happens though if you look at cities that have implemented. Rent control that the cost example is in New York okay. What happens if you have a rent controlled apartment in New York. You never want to leave that apartment. Because you say look no matter where I go I am going to have to end up paying more rights of that unit is effectively taken out of the housing stock. Of the city not so much in the short term but in the long run that's what happens as you sit in that apartment and you say look I'm not moving from here. If you do for whatever reason and that moving to. A different city or something a lot of times because you're gonna rent controlled apartment. Everyone knows because you probably bragging about it and so usually you pass that off to a friend or to a brother or sister or family member. But that unit is effectively taking off the market and so what you end up with you still have the same demand for all the existing units. But now you have 10% fewer units because you've pulled them off the market and put them in to rent control. So I see it is to. Some related but separate issues I mean one you're reducing the supply of housing on the market. And true Euro also creating a system that is very easy to abuse you I've seen cases where people will say hey I've artificially lowered my income him and maybe I run my own business or. It and employed by somebody who can you mess round my income Citic qualify for rent controlled apartment. But guess what they do not checked in on your income three years later it's oh I applied once I was under rent controlled apartment and now I'm in there for life. So subject to fraud abuse and then you know if you have a builder that setting up a brand new you know. 500 unit apartment and he knows that he's gonna have to make 10% of those rent controlled. That builder is going to. Either Jack up the prices significantly of all the other units yup or he's just gonna build less units or maybe night and build the project at all because of this issues so. Two completely you know related but separate issues one near the economic senate there's less supply of housing and to. This system itself is really really simple to abuse. It when you look at the last piece gets out. Ranked control often results in lower available supply in terms of new construction is well a lot of projects are undertaken that. In this is something that's that's really import about why we are where were where we stand housing right now. The problem with housing at the moment is a lack of supply at prices that are affordable for for most people. There's two ways to solve that problem. If you build more houses at affordable prices which is tough to do given the regulations that we have at this point. As far as what you need to put in the house when we hear total things like arising. You know handicap access things along those lines. If it's difficult from that perspective. But really the the key issue and this is something that I I continue to come back to. Wage growth over the last 25 years has been muted. And if you look specifically at wage growth compared to. Either profit growth there are GDP gross wage growth is lagging just about every single case and the core issue continues to be. If we had wages that were keeping up. With you know effectively. What you are seeing in GDP growth in profit growth and things like that if we are paying our workers enough. You have affordable housing to people would be making the core issue is in general we are not paying our workers enough and that is the that the issue for housing. And that every other problem that we see out there today it's that companies over the last twenty years to the promise of globalization. Have abused the bit that right to trade globally and have simply not be in the good caretakers of the citizens that workforce to be honest debt. That's what is is very reasonable argument let's talk about Boeing here they won a while the headlights as big navy contract for drones that the contract is in its. Decently size and think it's like 90805. For the for the first you know four of these eventually could be a thirteen billion dollar contracts there's a lot more coming here yet but these are. That this is on this kinda cool to be some kind of it in any aviation geek. These are what are called the stingray drones and these are drones that refuel other planes which I just think is one of the coolest things like you have a plane that has no one minute it's gonna fuel up you know of a fighter jet. I just think that's all us. And I know I mean I don't know it nearly anything about military aviation but so you're gonna have. How long are fighter jets staying in the air that they require refueling. Well that that the big thing is most fighter jets don't have a significant amount of range right you know that there's somewhat limited there. In their rains like if you take a look at forget exactly say if you look at the most pop or announced the the idea the F eighteen. Is the most widely used jet by. The US. Bye bye pretty much any branch of the you know the armed services that has. Airplanes and at the reins on the FET I think his only hope we see what it is. I guess this makes a lot of sense if we are concerned which I am about toy guns 400 miles Erica. So for concerned about losing military bases around the world because of conflicts in say Turkey for instance which we are currently dealing with. This might make a lot of sense if you if you can't land those fighter jets India's safe areas to refuel then you need to have this type of technology available. Well the big thing is that. Right now week we still do have cases where you are refueling these carrier based jets it's just to being refueled not with drones but with you people piled in the I believe also Boeing is producing the next generation. Supertanker as well which is based on the 767. And I think those are going into service in a couple years to those are going to be piloting this the first time that Boeing's one big contract like this quite awhile actually. Might be an IV it's been awhile. That's all the time we have on for the day we are wrapping up for the week as we head into Labor Day weekend markets mixed right now NASDAQ is up about seven Dow and S&P slightly down. Have a great Labor Day weekend we will see you back here next week.
