As the trade war heats up at you consider who speaks in this country on his feet hit the hearts. We've taken a look at it he can rest assured that none of the states getting hit by the trade war. Our New England states we'll tell you which ones market. We're also gonna tell you. What's the cost is going to be to a car if the trade war continues. How much will the cost of the new car increase in interest to number. And then finally all I'm relieved to hear. We're finally John going to be able to buy marijuana in Massachusetts legally. I've invited illegally brought me here at the United States. I just can't get enough but did they have what we're finally gonna have. Legal marijuana my gosh they are so glad to have you well welcomed into the legitimate economy Mary gets right at try and welcome contributing to GDP. And gradually lift illegally now. You know a good. And it it let's talk about. Trumps states'. You know which. The tariffs and trade works seemingly John the president is not seen me back. Yes yeah it it looks as if there is gonna go into effect. What states are gonna give it the most because politically. It seems. Like it's not a Smart thing to do for the president and it well the the ironic thing is that states that he won bigs supporters of him. He and 60% Tennessee. Yet and Tennessee is gonna be a loser and Texas is the Biggest Loser both in terms of a dollar amount and number of industries impacted. Smaller states that export a lot get hit really hard. In those smaller states involve a lot of trumps states' Louisiana yet Louisiana gets crushed they have exports of nearly. Six billion dollars and soybeans. Is that what it is yet one of the soybeans high on up pine China's list of tires. So if you think about Mitt that red map almost states in the middle of the country. That trump one right a wobbles a foreign states while and you know a couple of the states and I'm looking at two in particular Louisiana. An Alabama those are rated rated states and a yeah. There are now I I would think these tariffs of god of you who would. Trump administration is doing John is embracing wouldn't typically be in Democrats. And liberal policies by implementing trait yet is tax policy clearly hurt Blue States allot more. Because of the deductibility of state business tax deal and it's like the this is like giving a payback to the red states that may have benefit from the tax policy. Ironically offsetting may be a lot of benefits of the tax cut for a lot of out of his supporters if we're talking about industries soybeans. Cars and trucks. By Trump's own declaration cars and trucks is really the Super Bowl here and we're gonna talk about that just little bit later. Iron steel and aluminum those tariffs known are are going into effect greens. That's the big list of products were talking about so far. In terms of you know economic impact you know it's not expensive on these so far if you look in the whole economy. But you start getting into these manufacturing. Areas like cars automobiles automobile parts but I do think your soybean farmer in Louisiana. And they just slapped a 25 Mexico put 25% tax on your soybeans Louisiana east as ship soybeans to Mexico now. You might look at this a lot to only few farmers well you know liked those guys vote. Yup and and we also wanna look mentioned that the US chamber of commerce just this week launched a campaign. The only US chamber commerce we love you mr. trump but they very rarely come out against Republicans I know I can't wrote last time that happened and the other wants to campaign attacking the policies. With that state by state breakdown we're talking about. That basically says hey look we are on your side we're supporting you and our supporters are getting hit the worst let's talk about the hardest hit states Louisiana number one Alabama number two Alaska South Carolina. Washington State I think that is being abused I would say yeah it easy it can be purple but it's generally look at Kentucky that's Iowa. Ohio it'll back and it goes back and forth. Rate that that's and it's a battleground state those battleground states and that's what's really important is these are states but when your Republican and you're good candidate you win and if you're a bad candidate you lose. Those are purple wished status but can go either way intend to vote for the better candidate. Those are always going to be hard and if they're battleground states something like this if it becomes law means that's oblique. Could be the swing and a lot of future elections well we'll see I mean I I just I look at this list and you know like I've put an X next to the Blue States I considered Washington State is not a boost they know says blues it is certainly be how to become a blue state it's become Venus means gonna get hit it's a blue state California and about a battleground better but California doesn't get hit or. You know like if you look it kept the impact on California it's not that bad. ECD's foreign countries art target date they're doing this intentionally right Randi they are going after. The president on from a political perspective I. I wonder where this goes because it's. It to me in the way have been trained its counter intuitive it is illogical for him to be taking this tactic were Republican president. Eight yet again which is if we see the US chamber of commerce come out they they don't attack conservatives or Republicans very off of again the issue would be. You know is he using this to try to get a better deal for the United States the argument against this however is. Every one assuming a number of these terror stick. Everyone loses. On innuendo in a situation where you claim victory because you lost last. And in the big picture that's not the way you advanced economies by losing so I don't think. That there will be settlements reached at they'll be blood on the floor in people's feelings will be hurt. But I think ultimately deal was done I do to where the president is able to click to declare victory. And I the the reason I feel hoaxes. We are the world's largest importer. We are in it we think of that we he walked in to Morton's restaurant and hear the customer treat you like okay. The world has been open house for a long time. And I think with the president's doing is saying hey where the customer you need to treat us better in May be at the margins are at it it may not be. A dramatic shift but I do think he ends up with a victory here somehow down the road where he can declare victory certainly by no. Well he's basically declared the auto industry news Super Bowl and and the reason why I think this gets resolved is. When you start to look at reality and realize that all of the major auto makers have plants in Mexico. Where they've built some cars for the US market when you look at the fact that BMW awful BMW that German company. I'm they make more cars in America than they body well so it took parts of the Carson that's the thing. Final assembly I gamer there's no but there are marketing this thing is an American car right the parts are foreign. And and and most of that car that you bought. Waving the American flag from General Motors and Ford. Have foreign parts is that are going to be taxed in a going to win a talk about this to raise the price of all vehicles. Regardless of where there assembled regardless of where the parts come from at the end of the day you're building a car. That's largely foreign. How to had a hearty slices a well made American cars may be used to cars 75% America. Okay that's the exact both cars Ehrlich 5040%. In May be assembled here like you reference to BMW yeah but the parts are coming from overseas so. That's where the challenges and we knew impose these terrorists. Eat and this is what I think consumers need to understand. The cost of a car with a 35%. Imported parts terror would increase by 2000. Dollars. A year talking about. Toyota camera right at Toyota Camry. Would go up in price. 18100 books yet and you know we're are cars that cost 25000 dollars and they sell you know the you sell for 500000 camrys a year yeah it's the number one so he's passenger car used to your advantage that's true. And Hillary's are by rap fours instead see that's why idol weakness. Goes into effect the auto makers are coming out and telling everybody there they're boiling down the numbers and I I think. I think that people start to look at the administration realizing why we're gonna hurt American companies. Just as car loan is blowing an easier promise you yes Kudlow very patiently economic like what no one knew exactly he sat there and you know Navarro is one perspective and I promise you Kudlow use evenly had a heart attack. Yeah east enemy action yet and I and I feel that the Larry because. He's in a room all by himself and part of the problem is there are now more supporters of Navarro in that room. It. But we have faith that Larry he's been on the show he's a great guy that president has great respect for him and his his opinion carries a lot of weight Larry's a really Smart guy. And I'm sure he's making very clear that the consequences residents knotted up oh no he's very Smart the president has the fees paid its. He's evolved and importing an export and he he he does he's done business overseas. So he understands the cost involved here. Again I I think your views on us sitting here with the seats they don't worry about it I get it I know what you're saying. But he has to posture but in order to get what I want I got to go to go in hard with think about when you're buying a car right. Well you know fifteen grant that car at a really needed but you know but it's it's party negotiation tactic. That's all he's doing the problem I have is I think he's coming from a good place. I just hope we don't end up in a place where we really are in a war. And we have to do something we don't really wanna do in because you wanna win a game we really don't wanna play. Because guys like Navarro. Are upping the ante to do this I I don't see that I don't see that happen historically the president if you look at his personal. He's only settled right and he says come in hard and so. You know and the other side knows that I mean that's the problem contact. They read the art of the deal on that if we just kept the art of the deal away from China right now. David and they would not know what's going on in Chinese couldn't read and I would definitely be a lot better and like I watched those reality shows I read his books we know what's up. Maybe we should ban the books which that would be so goodness we're gonna have a legal marijuana shop in Gloucester Massachusetts that'll be the first one. Probably won't be open from what I've read till may be labored. It'll be a little while a but it the you know it is it's as historic as the first medical dispensary and will happen in Worcester County in Leicester. But this is going to be a recreational shot. You regulation walked in and try to be recreational campus. Available for sale in Lester there's another one but you'll pay a lot of tax agreement and make that purchase. Yeah and that's the thing and here's where it's gonna get very interest in bury the difference between. So called medical marijuana and recreational marijuana. The recreational stuff is going to be a lot more expensive. The medical marijuana is not tax it again so are our people does need honest in its cards. You hear him to discard the eight it and make it your doctor says Yang you need him yet you're gonna see a lot of that I need. Why because you wanna pay the tax rate. At. Doctor Italy aprilia where we're diagnosing Barry Armstrong as they like tax is make him sick for their line forward giving you a prescription for medical marijuana. So you don't get sick from the taxes would would that be religion I think so. What would accuse I I would vote for you. But here's here's something to he used it your pipe and smoke. A lot of this. In of this activity is going to benefit. The western and central part of Massachusetts now. And you get a lot of users from the east we're getting it from the west could be grown out west right the idle facility. Near Amber's been bad it is undergoing construction as we speak it'll have a hundred employees. Wages are seventeen dollars an hour and yeah geezer people that are going to be working in that it's just a growth facility. If it's a very large group facility. And they'll have three shops. Throughout the state 83 medical and three recreational stores across the state. And that's all money that's coming in legal indoor league system those people are still gonna buy any more any less campus the difference is going to be. They're gonna buy it legally and somebody's gonna get taxed on it and some music and actually have a payroll tax because they have a job right where it that. And the other benefit is that coincidentally. The areas that will be helps our area geographically. That are not doing as well as the Greater Boston area economically that's right that's why bring it up after in Springfield struggle exactly economic Lester struggle. But this is a boon to this is a huge boon to them at a time when it's needed and and from the perspective these companies they can get real estate a lot cheaper in Worcester and Springfield and in Worcester County. Billingsley wages yeah electricity and water. It's like a different country compared to agree upon a lot less expensive yeah housing Egypt you go down the list it's eight. It's much more affordable for them to grow this. Yet and would have to be grown in them in the state right and also it's it's a great place for little for. That that part of that part of the state. So they're there's that some of a lot of economic benefits and it's nice to see the areas that really could use a nice economic boost getting that boost. We get 32 companies submitting applications. 83 applications in in total to do business so this is the first it's rather historic. But there's a lot more coming down long while and I just think there's a substantial economic impact that has gone under report. They used the unity you bring all of that money now G it. All of those jobs now become legitimate agricultural. What would you get that doctor's request of legitimate. To be curiosity Americans due to arrive I'd prefer if you're sick of paying taxes so. I am used in the region prescription if my doctor I don't think you give me and you know he'd rather not and I'm sure people have come in with lesser complex. Eight up next we're going to be talking about. A mistake that New Orleans of Americans me as currently Steve credit and there are scores that are next topic on the financial. We'll look cunning and should do business and financial. It's the financial exchange with Barry Armstrong and chuck son on the financial exchange radio network. To really help the problem a lot of blame border facing with security deposits which is. You know one it's time consuming to open the small enough security upon numbers sons now. And yet to go into the branch got signed paperwork and their small dollars and Andy turn. And it's likely to complaints in Massachusetts really tough for landlords and security deposit accounts. You have to give them ten in certain forms when they open up the count and you have to pay interest and you. And we should do all this canal through Z deposit all of that you can do Thursday deposit it literally takes about forty seconds opened up an account. We handled the automatic form tattered generated in the count number department condition statement all that said lieutenant. And interest descend to the tenant. Automatically every year. This sounds like something it's going to be very valuable to large landlords it might have 200 tenants and small landlords that might only have five tenths yeah absolutely with a large landlords. It's just a lot of hassle to managed so we make dad very efficient for the small landlords a lot of them are afraid of nineteen complaints done correctly that some of them. I don't know if you like a growth facility I know of one growth facility. That's being built thirty million dollar capital investment. In a depressed western Massachusetts community unbelievable you start adamant up. One place after another 97 jobs 97 and again in depressed western mass economy and and and that's the thing. You know week John and higher broadcasting from Needham mass. Very affluent part of state but also very affluent part of the country we tend to live view perhaps in a bubble are no doubt you go out. Past Worcester passed for 95 the eagle pass 490 file thank you yeah different economy yuck and that's where I think these. The the east. The biggest economic bad times and to the state will be you'll have people that. They may be maybe be working it at Macy's JC Penney yup. Out in Worcester in those stores closed in all of sudden they've got a job make it seventeen bucks an hour with health insurance. We're in for growth facility where that money actually goes somewhere we can actually I illegally than legally but he could actually via a apartment yeah. Or think about me a down payment on small device car in LA coach Jeff. If it's money it stays in the economy now you know there are people that say well I've got a moral objection to well I'm sorry you lost it is is a vote right right and I think it was fifty to 53% of the state said and we want. And right now no actually John. Last polling numbers and looked at it's in excess of 60% of the country. Yet while they're still lose the nimby attitude which is I would like to see it legal and I don't want pot shops. Next my grocers well in in 010 my downtown our town is like that I live in midfield I just most towns and eastern Manson. You know what they're making a mistake but I think that's the right it's like saying we don't want a liquor store. You know would you want a pot shop next to your house and proportionally than a business and I have it in my town acute careless okay it has its. I look at what's the difference put it right let the liquor store so jets and I think another mistake and should of had the liquor stores sell this. Interesting yeah so you're not kind of expanding that Joseph Monroe right it right Europe. Because itself such a boondoggle the way it works now right get through politically connected. In order to get one of these licenses everyday it probably isn't going to hear the liquor store and then now the sudden you've got this whole block of like liquor stores a year Charles lettered in. Yes you're currently right now and nor will my exactly I I think it's a mistake I think those towns will come to regret it may take five years. But you he'll regret down. Time now for Wall Street watch a look at the market's performance so far today but I do Berrian jug right here on the financial exchange radio network. And Wall Street's off to a pretty good start on this. Free holiday day Mike Armstrong joins us now with Wall Street watch and Mikey got a couple of company company's owners to go high tech and low tech company. Roku would Campbell's. Yes so cables soup we've reported done rumors that last month that paid. Maybe exploring failed Kraft signs that this points third point to hedge fund has come into really pushed them to explore possible sale. Campbell was up as much as 40% are there right now up about dollar and six cents at two point 6%. And who went roku is in the news and missed their stock is up today. They are yes or roku is up about six and a quarter percent right now there are great out or by Oppenheimer. State days streaming devices that seeing pretty rapid amount of time spent in the group channels and also. Little bit of a competitive advantage in terms of their ad sales comparison to other industry Serbs. We noticed that the oil was up and four year highs premarket kind of backed off a little bit right now it is khaki and the price of oil that's been out there. That's wrecked it. Today will not help as we look for lower prices no doubt about that. Mike Armstrong thank you very much appreciated what war by the wind roku coming up and stop cock just hasn't later. More than one in five credit card users have carried a balance to help them improve their credit scores and was a problem with that it doesn't help. You know that the yeah yeah. I think this will tell mr. Cain while working for a news. Years ago they would say yeah I remember this when those in my twenties people today. We want to borrow money and demonstrate. You can pour it back on a timely basis to establish credit OK that's it at our age eighteen I get that book but I mean like at age fifty years you know why are people like running a balance to improve their credit I I don't think they're doing that reason I think they're running about as it worked path cart OK quality the the that there is this old wives to. It says well if you you know. Take a crichton and people are using credit cards and 18%. Right to establish good Carter that is just. He dum dum thing to do don't do the one thing I would suggest just has ninety use. Consider keeping an account opened may be longer than you needed like a democratic card unit using all that much a lot of people just can't sort of get another one. That actually is held against you yes that is so not much not much I mean maybe ten points fire that was big thing is credit utilization. Hamachi or how much are approved for how much you use one of what that number to be as small as possible terms of what you use and that's with a credit utilization. If you keep that card open for they know how much money you make right the you don't have to tell them right now. So again just it it don't. Go balance in it and leave it on pages to improve your credit is that won't work. I'll tell you I'm gonna give you a piece of information here. Jan. If you want to improve your credit score. All leaves Hague human separatist. All always pay your bills on time that's the number one package yet but I think people asked me what do I need by Catholic. Well the reason you have a 650 credit score is you don't pay your bills on time yeah I mean if you just do that. You're gonna get a good ever pay your bills you know are getting harder for that but you know you might get a 740 just by doing that just pay your bills on time in your score it take time Betty if you went bankrupt in your crap score. It's not an improved overnight if you pay your bills on time. Your score will improve it that simple don't mess around gaming the credit card bill that that's a losers they're Smart and who exactly. Do you have a balance on your credit card that is our poll question today you can text us at 63566. Or you can go to financial exchange showed dot com. In order to participate in the pool via the ballots and cart right now 21% of our listeners are carrying about 70%. Are not carrying abounds. I would suggest that you do not care that bad I understand things happen like happen to lose a job at an emergency money your kid something goes wrong. Terry it. In office that's that's Imus and the definition that will be you'd get a bill for 12100 dollars you pay 12100 so you have a balanced their for awhile but you don't have a long enough that you end up paying interest right exactly. This year the average American 41 K balance. There's not very much. 10300866. But that's an average and I imagine the median is a whole lot less now because 26 Graham yes because it's skewed by a few people who have like multi million dollars in them. The sad news there Berry is that. Of the 103000 dollars generates an income of about 4000 dollars a year so if that was your final number when you hang it up from the workforce. Getting about 300 bucks a month. The live off of beyond Social Security or other income sources now not very much and I think John. I think it's our generation. That it is going to be problems boomers. Because our generation Gallic you you were covered by pension plan at some point right. But the and they did away with it during your color same thing with me back in the eighties I had a really expansion. They did away with the company did so. People are generations said. Well we weird because we started our careers and down week in I don't know I started my career in the eighties YouTube yet right around 1980 and so we started in the eighties. We are covered in weave it well. You know by June 20 years Westinghouse are ID twenty years an idea and they'll take care. They beat me. Wall Street insisted. That they get rid of pension plans so guys like us don't have anything other social security and what we saved on girl. And frankly our generation has been some very safe and there was little bit of ignorance is bliss attitude because even if we didn't have that we were really aware of vehicles like 41 case because frankly there are new they did and they didn't exist when I was working part time as you know teenager I don't think before winter even existed back rent is in the seventies and is like it was his idea for saving for retirement is like when you're in your twenties your elect. Yeah a million years from now on or retire. I guess that's 41 K thing or whatever might be good but the good thing is that the problems our generation was brought up that way as this being some nice little bonus. Not essential that's generation now realizes. This is your retirement. I wished. You know if it's a shame that there's not. A more disciplined method of getting people to save other than their Social Security in the tech comes out your paycheck and have any choice but pain like right. The number one best thing that ever happened. And we have it next our list is the is the fact that will be that uses a four point eight balances increased very little in the last ten years. There's a good reason why. It's because millions of people were auto enrolled in these programs starting with very low balances so the bad news is they've brought the average down. The witnesses. In the system and contributing in the contributing in and I really believe that the best way to get people and I've I've I've been like. I've talked people for decades about the importance of doing this I've gotten a lot of kids and young people sign up. Once they see that they can effortlessly get 3005000. To even notice that in my aunts is now 6000 dollars that's. And that's where I love but ought to when role is it gets people in the game when they give him that's the best at the terrorists here's the weekly. They're allowed to cash. I now. It's a savings account and they do yup and you know if you talk to shock in talker and Matt. They'll tell you they've got friends. You know they goat they take that first job and right in there do in the auto enroll into the world and can't play and they work for three years they sing about 1520000. Bucks. Cash in and travel around the world. That's that's an exit and that's that's interesting it happens but I'll tell you what's even more disconcerting and that is I read that. A lot of people cash out simply because they change jobs so of course I don't need the money. I am I've only got 4000 largest cash export thousands of 2000 tax whatever is no begin I'd rather of the 3000 rather in the pain of rolling over. One of the things that that the government work you're doing right now. Is allowing companies to more seamlessly move the comp the money from company aid company B and her and then leave the job. Because they found out. After researching I Somali people were cashing out yeah I get anything it's that it is like convenes I have people conduct our that's one of the regular. Things that come up alive when we take and here's why here's the answer in this is under consideration in congress right now. Eight what's called what a universal 41 K plan so when you hire someone buried right they have a 41 K just like we have a one off. It's the air mean it's hold their 41 K. Your fund's move right into that secure even put money it's not that that program. In and you match and then when they leave that job right they it moves when we needed because what happens John if you're small employer. Like Austin we can't afford four right we have to do something that's less a less efficient and less expensive. Because we only have twenty employees in and to do a full blown 41 K like you when you're describing right you probably need. 15200 employees apps to make it affordable otherwise that the administrative costs. And you know what it is those costs are who you an employee numbers. Far higher than your numbers via my wife works for companies that probably is maybe quadruple the number of people. And I've talked and what their 401K plan their fees are ridiculous and the guy told because I can't find a better deal because the big boys thank. This is just a pain in the bottom they don't like we don't want it but we have to do your company we're gonna charge X basis points then try to unwind. Right. Get to the point where you're selling the company to close the four game at all they crushing on the way out and one more reason why people cash out of them because they're told him about 41 K a bad 41 K is still good if that's the Republican. Right at rush me out later this debate it's an eighty basis points of fees focus I just cash reopen. It's a mistake it and it's a shame but it is yours for twos actor. Don't forget to participate in our poll. Are you carrying a balance on your credit card. And it's exchange showed a com right now I'm surprised 31% of our audience caring about the credit card he's president. Audience very Armstrong and I'm joined by estate planning attorney Todd Lipsky. From the law firm of Cushing and dole and for your legal exchange quick tip of the day we're talking about Medicaid. Irrevocable trusts Todd. And one of the concerns that I hear from listeners is that. People are afraid of giving up control to their trust the when they use these durable global trust. Is that in fact a valid concern. It is not a valid concern but that's not a good enough answer let me help you understand why. It's not. First and foremost. Their concern is that way because they're not serving as trustee right and they can't if they want the protection. From the nursing however two things they need to remember. One. During their life. 95%. Of the things that need to be done with that trust. Will be done by them so they can still make the investment decisions talked to the financial advisors to make the investment decisions like their house yeah so. So all of this stuff can be done by them that. There's only about 5% of the time that we need a lawyer. Or is that not a lawyer the trustee to do anything is a trustee often one of the children idiots it is and so that's another good point that it normally it's a child. And the last thing that number two reason you don't have to worry is they retain the right to remove and replace the trustee anytime they want. So there really still what the boss that's nice folks if he'd like to learn more about the top misconceptions. Regarding Medicaid durable global trusts. Just Rudnick from seeking alpha joins systems doc talked to see if the revenue streams. Are just is attractive Josh what do you think of a roku. Hey. You know I really like roku. Kirk. You know I think initially. I I found out about the like to see Israel as well or. And I did a pickup in IPOs admittedly the company and IPO and it kind of ridiculous valuation. On every analyst on the street was pretty much there on it. And says it is. You know stock picker is what the right. But I they continue to generate revenue growth. Stocks sold off because you know or is there cold from. Analysts and then you know stick her on. Kind of a famous these are. Wait out there they came out that you know we were bearish now we like it it's undervalued. About what does that direct probably bite from that you know other we've battled and came out. And it presented a pretty attractive buying opportunity. Yet today of course are often higher murder you know endorsed it today is gotten an ice pop the question I have is a war why roku over other options. Yet though so an interesting became Al and the because recruiter have. You know an operating system and and not been a big part of think that operating system. To keep you acres and so the birdie came out insure that you know 10% of millennial lie you know eighteen to 34 demographic. Our only capture on roku is so all of the market you know the Big Ten percent. Only on the road towards the back. Of the number. Huge numbers are at dollars. I just want to know Josh I wonder what they really do this proprietary and I my question is will they ultimately need to be content player like a lot of their competitors I look at some Milliken AT&T that just part Time Warner. And again have they already have very attractive DirecTV now which will get only more attractive to going to be able to skinny bundles. What you know what's roku gonna do to fight off all this competition. Yeah and so that that that instinct thing you know and their main selling point originally it was. You know apple don't wanna play around with Google who on. They paid they were all kind of like withholding content from each other broke who have of that neutral player where they're saying you know. We're fine with roku having Netflix and apple and and all the different things. Imus are fending off. Competition. You know at this point Urquhart that he couldn't they they haven't we settled. Broke through you know you can still get to direct the you get all the stuff and so on but Caroline in the current environment people elect. Well you know roku gut out. They picked other individual BB. You know we're gonna go eyeball. Right. I think that. An interview and users like the product which is the most important point I think there's no question about that the other company or what what do wanna talk about. Is Southwestern Energy is that something you like. That it about it elegant so open and the two companies that mention have a similar. And rationale write about are coming out of from large sell off period you know wrote it. And about a year opportunity. And roughly 34 years would be anarchy downturn. But. Which in this space there very. Are there exploration and production company. So they are very Reliant Energy practiced obviously. Writing an acute crisis has benefited but it I think I'm a couple of technical expertise. And throughout this downturn you know they've been very conscious of cutting costs I think. Over the last few days or weeks they came out basic and you know they are. Refusing to back cutting costs you more which ultimately. Give them a better profit margin which I think energy prices. And I just think you know a lot of companies that did struggle with this oil downturn are either the bunker. And followed with a consolidated with another company. What their energy however and they handle you know they've they've been kind of it for the price of energy what you can control you know you're cost structure you can't control you know investments are making and different drilling activities and I think. Along those lines they've done all they could. And now they stand to benefit from rotten that are secrets are. Good analysis Josh us Southwestern Energy symbol SW NN of course roku. The symbol is the same as its name or OK you and Josh thank you very much. Lot of volatility speaking of energy and the admiral it's now down to it popped yesterday 75 dollars a barrel not sure what caused that yup and now it's down 734. Also interesting the stock market has pulled back from up around a hundred up 26. And energy used to go the opposite direction of stocks and she seems you going. The same direction as the stock market a wonderful bulls are looking at stronger economies is good. Weaker ponies is banned in you know wonder if higher energy races aren't the problem he used to be stocks that at least here. 39%. Of our audience is carrying a balance on their credit card 60%. Let's first talk about the differences between load in no load funds what to those terms actually mean. Yes when you talk about a load you're talking about compensating someone for the sale of that mutual fund. There are a lot of different options when it comes cities but. Typically the most common is just an up front load that you and paint the advisors so if you put 101000 dollars in to a mutual fund. Mutual fund may charge you 45%. Fixed and gets paid to the eyes. In a no load fund you don't necessarily have that upfront fee but you still do not operating expenses each year just because the fund has paid to employees and so force you do Syria let's say just go to fidelity dot com and pick up one of their mutual funds. You might not be compensating. An advisor sales person for recommending that the island but fidelity has their expenses that they are running in the air still charging new. It's all detailed and expense ratio that you every year what is a typical expense ratio on a mutual fund these days I would really hesitate to give a typical because they vary so much emergency funds as low as. Gold and copper prices are on the decline somewhat I think that's counter intuitive. Movie past looks to be running out of money headed toward bankruptcy. And then finally worth talk about. Staying safe. Tomorrow because there's a lot of people that'll end up in the emergency room. Due to accidents involving fireworks hi everybody it's Berrian John Mooney with you here you know John we've reached the pinnacle of our career. You're working on the Tuesday before the. Fourth after I mean it doesn't get any better in this yelling get the eight team and I get the eight era idea that the don't do what they'll do it today upon them and have John Berry did you know young guys have to click on it. Older grown older people rock that's why he runs lately you know we made rock that we have much. Though Iraq is best weekend reformer rockers today. Gold prices down yeah I mean look the bottom line is the end of the world trade used to be gold yeah right you think everything's going. Whenever you buy gold. Part of the problem is. The world is doing pretty well we got a 4% GDP. Remember we're worried about North Korea sending nukes and now we see Cayman trump arm in arm. Handshakes and these are not good for gold like the the world's just not come to an end like it should have the intention interest rates. And interest rates. Well interest rates are a well behaved and so they're going. They're going to appreciate that you're still I would like I don't know if we get to more hikes this year looks like we do. The price gonna get two or three next year but long term rates are what what matters haul and long term rates ever gone nowhere explained. It means the Fed sets short term rates overnight rates which are we seeing the racing at 25 basis points or more percent. At least the cost of overnight money goes up a quarter percent right now it's like you know. One point 81 point 9%. Well honey you borrow money overnight. Maybe from here. You know for me to your spouse or something. But the bottle as most kids or they could never pay a background. Mostly local bank to bar for one day that's the Fed controls those investors control. The longer rates the five year treasury the ten year treasury and those rates. We you're with a flat yield curve that means those rates have not gone up the way you'd expect they unloaded ten year to 85. And were expecting short term rates to peak out in the low three's once the Fed is done doesn't mean though it if you. That's a small yield curve I thought that was recession. It can mean recession when the short term rates become high year. Then the long term rates that's called inverted yield curve. When it's flat that means basically. There's not a whole lot of excitement about inflation in the pipeline and so gold the scene to the fact that. You want one enemies of inflation here automation. Amazon Kindle products other job by the gold and here's the other argument makes even worse for gold. If you do vote don't believe any of this stuff do you think inflation is coming round which it may by the way what a higher inflation which should be good for gold. If you believe that currencies or not we wanna be. Now we have crypto currencies in which directly addresses your concern about currency CDC money's leaving golden going into crypto I think new money. That's really worried. Is incrementally going a little bit to crypto yeah I think it's a stupid thing to do you husk but I think you listen to throw my opinion out there. But again you know there's a lot of people with strange Sperry was easier compelling argument for gold. Or against it it would about copper constructions going nuts. Electric cars take a lot copper. Why copper price I wonder if it's sympathy. Just sympathy for medals medals are just having difficulty that's a mistake yeah may not be traded copper and silver have had an industrial applications are there to be trait there. I think you're right because I think people make the mistake of that we look at medals was the gold. And then you look at everything else and you make a great point if you look below golds at some of these other metals there's opportunity there. Movie pass which I subscribe to bodily. He is running out of money and they need to raise a mere one point two billion dollar I think their stock is trading at about nineteen cents a share. Yeah hit Nielsen mathison is the parent company of the popular movie subscription service and they told regulators yesterday. That they wanna sell that much in stock and debt securities. They're burning through cash I mean there are growing I have no cash left people who who the dancing thing that's called burning and the other burned about basically. Competition is so bad plan. You know like with Pete Tuesday charges ten bucks a month and an easy go to as many movies if you want either one a day. With the movie pass per month we'll movie. I go to movies like thirteen bucks they're painful price. Right they give you debit card the way it works is the yet that and your phone and give me a card and so. As you're and you have to be standing right next theater. Tickets right beat buy your tickets on your phone. They need to take your debit card that they gave me and you put it in two you know they have the calling me to him the automated. Ticket right right. And the big ticket ticket now I thought the negotiated deal would mean they're paying two bucks and move them. While they're cynical. You just wonder how business plan like back at work in a beat the other side of it is and I don't subscribe to them but I just wonder. You know how many people don't get enough movies with Netflix. That it is done yet night that's true yeah that's my wife and a week ago. And we are doing it before it discovered passengers. Monday night out of the house. No kids. In an that you're doing so you know it's good for the industry because the industry is in trouble because there are a lot of people doing that there's few reviewer. Yet this a night out it is an attraction. In if they can do this to get more people want the theater that's probably good for the industry. The and I think that's why he would seek you know their product via ENC has competing product that's 28 interest and that's pretty yeah and that's gonna have to do I think in c.s will survive movie pass. I'm not planning on renewing my subscription but well like just because I think audiences will you switch to AMC's plan better. A I don't know me I haven't looked at it carefully now you doughnut and you've got enough to justify or definitely if you go accidentally hit it neatly we generally. Go that you know we say we go every week that things happen. Rightly divide the choice of babysitting my granddaughters are going to the Moody's. No brainer. Also I believe you're the only person in America who goes to movies to lose weight yes yes. Is this just correct you seen the movie the food that works for you see that the answer that would make me lose weight it it. Like just like the last place on the is that a movie. Pig out in the popcorn I hill. I like he's you you will this giant bags and Annika and like I don't know but I thought I always have to be extra butter which they give you an idea comes it out of the machines as it is though most awful thing you hear your arteries to seizing up I can hear it like a week the that the write code has full food service you know. One night we went. And these guys right next. Week. Heat being bound not covered Shahid here and of course it's like fast we're not right now since I was Killen. Absolutely kill yet this this plan of doing this to lose weight I think is gonna run at some obstacle yes well you know it doesn't volatile. We changed our secrets now at least we we see it in the. Far back nobody else is a half. And and we bring our guys are you in Ottawa undergoing the movie theater lose weight but you have to get the terrible seat goes to war this president this is not batting we got to climb up the stairs to get back that's trying to burning calories as they go yeah. You are the ones that are now in a serious note. July 4 is to more. And I can assure you. There will literally be thousands of Americans. Going to the emergency rooms because they blow themselves up with that it is dangerous I have done him I was at the look Colonia. Emergency room bout. Twenty years ago really because I'd. You know. Her myself with buyer if he can Q is there will be people die tomorrow. Yeah because of fire works and you mix that would alcohol and going and have a good time I didn't have any alcohol. Nobody's I pity and alcohol after I hurt myself but I didn't weld its dangers let's put it that way amerigas. It's unbelievable and an American shoot off upon whom the fireworks each year for every adult that thick of the millions that don't even touch it. That means is people using lots of fireworks. Massachusetts is the only state that doesn't allow the purchase of any fireworks yeah but but I think I value every town in Massachusetts. We'll have neighborhood party. You weird rid of the fireworks will be getting. You know at all that's a lot of either has no enforcement or selective enforcement would force the cops still. Yeah and cuts go left and right you can target area. And the most recent states allow fireworks of New Jersey Delaware and Iowa. Whose new law actually legalize fireworks for the time around July 4 in New Year's Day here's what's ironic. You know every year you set off fireworks to patriotic days or more patriotic day it says the American tour thing yet rated if it's. It's an act of patriotism yeah. All the fireworks let off come from China. Most of them yeah. While we don't make any one of the trade wars lead to diminished July 4 celebrations that would be the ultimate dark fire broke. If I just. You know I I didn't know that yet that's your act that New Hampshire had a big manufacturing know and I'll tell you something there's a good argument against. Against a lot of free trade between the United States and China when you look at this number. China has basically. Gone almost all the business in the world yeah they get all bar business. End you know we just purchased a tonne from China so. No not it is ironic with a celebration of American that does the case they are poll question today is are you carrying aid balance and your credit card. As on line shopping to exit poll well not a lot of surprise there is no big surprise despite a strong economy large companies like Kmart are closing many stores you know enlist goes blown tones Sears JC Penney. Of course just last Friday Toys 'R' Us shut down its final stores ministers. On any monitored. Lot of stores in their heyday a lot more than that to show it happens all these malls you know like you think. In Downey you meet with Hanover Mall yeah. You know I've actually Natick mall does pretty well I've got the nor Sharma only me is it busy. Yeah evident cuts years in JC Penney and Macy's and no one's ever in there now yet it's okay it's really a matter of taking a business model that was from the 1980s. And it adapting to the present time which means to make it like more of an entertainment venue maybe some office parks may be some places that make it a wonderful. Good office park location has lots park absolutely right so yeah he said okay overtake that'll Macy's structure. And turn it into call center right he could do that they may have Alex atrium in between your health care health care housing workout facilities yeah culture help this huge right now and we have obviously need for housing you know he got apartments as part of it is part you know so. It's a matter of reinventing and rethink your we've seen malls have gone the entertainment route of actually enjoyed some success so. We're having a transition the fact matters were we we bench and even before the revolution that we reported on with a on an on line. We're just over stored. Will we are the numbers for every person in the United States there's 24 square feet of retail space. Canada has sixteen square feet yeah. Australia has eleven square feet and I've ever leave England has about twelve or thirteen I mean we're just even compared to you know cough for five. Five even fewer. So we we just or or retail restored yet and and and you are a booming economy is not going to be away and out. Because they're just as flat out too many stores and all that happens with the online shop every. Literally every day. It increases right you know such a margin it's becomes incrementally slightly. Less indeed joining here are my latest Home Depot purchase them that I would have done at Home Depot but I ended up on line. Power. Really OK I wanted to be one electric power for not a gas one man. And I wanted something I have a 15100 PSI. Power that I bought at Lowe's. Five years ago. Yeah that's good job I found one. I went through lows to look for bigger one didn't have one did you go to Lowe's stock on. I'd say I didn't bother 'cause I go to Amazon. Go to Amazon about 3000 PSI our watcher. For a 145 bucks it'll be tomorrow that's about it and he did it at the store you know and so great for aren't like that might my point news. That's another perk is among those I like angle every Saturday I mean there people think I work. What their showed up at those basic yearly. That would be probably coming up at 730. Iguodala he's revered seven's word hero and if I go every Saturday. We didn't think it. Like that online shopping is so easy it's but it's it's nicks and retire yet and we do example where he the prime members. But we buy tons of stuff off Amazon. We need the steam. Which is kind of a terror yet exist you know. And like I did some online shopping couldn't quite find but I want to I went to Amazon boom they had a price that was dirt cheap on a very good brand name. And they delivered it to us in two days in an amateur and I mean that's tough to be while speaking of and is primed me. Is going to be on July 16 that's when it starts it's actually. It should be called prime gain. Yeah if the right it's expanded to six extending it yet. Yeah it's July 16 they're gonna say they say it can be the best whenever and it was toys that every bit as Tucker pointed out. I thought that effectively. They really need to deliver this year big time because the 20% increase. In the Amazon prime and I know if it's a wonderful serviceable and especially valuable when he bucks a year. If you're only doing that for the delivery if you're not streaming or using all of the other music the music if you're using that that 119 start and have a and I think that's really important in the Amazon com through for their customers on this one day to justify those renewals think it will. I think they will and I think they have a pretty low bar because much is a point this about the fact the matter is the average person considers a ten bucks a month with the best and bucks they spent. I you know I'm amber in. I would give it up in that gate the when he went to 119. He. I don't they have if you like documentaries. Amazon prime. Really good documentaries. Especially compared. Yeah I think their pricing power is pretty strong. On subscription yes and I I think of an acute of one person who. It was an amazing human 99 dollars who's gonna dump 19000. And a slightly people in the country in a hundred million subscribers pain. Yeah in ninety in the United States are. I don't know the numbers. Like ninety million which is large percent of the actual adults crisply kids are members to write. We knew probably what would you buy an electric car. You get a 7500 dollar tax credit if you buy one in May need a New England states when I bought an electric cars 7500 dollar federal tax credit. 2500 dollar state tax credit so I river that happened Berry was bragging about the fact that they were actually paying him to take this car yet I after tax I think he was like it was like a minus 2000 dollars and I want to thank you for subsidizing what. You did the mapping is like this is read this was ridiculous it in the car after because I write up my car right because of business purposes. Carded a cost to.
