This is the financial exchange with Barry Armstrong and chunks of you're exclusive look at business and financial news affecting your day your city your world. Stay informed and up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and chuck Exxon. Our top three stories today are all related to president Trump's decision to allow. From the Iran deal. We're going to be talking about Boeing power they impacted by this. What's the impact on the price of gasoline and oil how much are you gonna be paying at the pump this Memorial Day weekend. And then finally. Will this have an impact on the sale of electric cars hi everybody it's buried truck with you here. It's a Wednesday morning and some of a gun to clock yesterday afternoon the president announcing what we all expected. Is that he's pulling the United States out of the US Iran deal. Yeah this is it's something that he had campaigned on it's something that I don't think was unexpected by any means. Did something that he had reportedly told. President were krona France about you know when he was in town a week or so ago. And so it's it's not really something that I think should of called many people by surprise it's a true I think was largely kind of peaked in as far as. What markets were expecting here and that's why it will look after this. Markets finished they pretty much completely fine. But let's talk about what it means what is the significance. Of us pulling out of the US news and these this deal because Germany plans to stay in France. Plans to stay in a mean a lot of these other countries are part of this and a negotiated contract which. By any stick at any BS anybody whether you talk to somebody at the Woodrow Wilson institute at Princeton. The kind of a bad deal live and I guess there are always bad. Well this deal came about it was the result you know six or seven years of trying to get all these parties together. To figure out a way. To manage the Iranian nuclear threat. And so what you see with the other parties all deciding that they want to remain in this deal. Is that with the US pulling away it does potentially give some outs as far as how Iran wants to. Be able to sell its oil and so forth. In it does to a certain extent when you talk about oil. Yeah it to potentially put some pressure on the dollar to sell off in the long run and simply because one of the reasons why the dollar retains the value that it does today. Is because until. Pretty much just now until the last couple of months really went China started opening some new means to trade oil. The dollar was the only show in town it was the only way that you could trade oil was to go win by US dollars and in I think there's some question now about whether or not that's going to be the case going forward. Well be the part of the sanctions. Would include bill France Germany China not be allowed to trade with Iran. You think that's actually gonna happen bill bill I think China is gonna I think China's gonna say hey we're gonna continue to buy oil they also there are staying in like what what are you gonna do than sanction Germany bats that that is yet you're not gonna do this well written but here's the thing if you wanna sell aluminum. From Germany to the United States and you violate the the president's terms he's gonna put tariffs on your oil and easily terror stagflation and then he's gonna put tariffs on Chinese products cut if you if China can I don't see a guy happening. You don't think do you view not that far. What what are you gonna do say that you can't trade with the entire world unless you put hair like a date doesn't he's trying to put pressure on Iran. Did I know he's trying to put pressure on Iran but. Let's let's kind of play out the string here because we so we saw something interesting yesterday US had an auction of three year treasury bonds mean that the US had to go borrow money. Now they have to bar bet thirty billion dollars and they said look we're gonna pay this back three years later and here's the interest rate that we want to issue that. That auction. Went off as one of the weakest in recent history then and they actually missed on their target rate that they were aiming for by a basis point which means there wasn't enough demand to go and actually sell those bonds into the open market in part of the reason for this if you look at. If you look at the primary justification for the Iran deal stripping out all the national security stuff. One of the major reasons was that the US dollar and again like this is. It's basic stuff but it's not talked about the US dollar is the world's reserve currency right. What that means is that people effectively agreed that they are going to use the dollar as the standard means of international commerce and that's been since World War II. It's really been since nineteen cent to like the seventies you know it's it to a certain extent after World War II it would Petro dollars really since the Petro dollar and 71 that you saw this when Nixon took us off the gold standard. And so. The the negotiation is effectively the deal we had was look you agree that you're going to buy US treasuries and and we will fund projects and things like that and so forced. We're now going out and we're saying. Hey. Look were not quite sure that we want the US dollar to be that standard reserve currency because. If you say that you're willing to sanction this country in that country and in the penalty in the danger of using the dollars that you may lose access to the financial system. What do I wanna use the dollar if I potentially lose access to all those things by missed a week what do you use. Don't know but here's the thing you do have China that is trying to build up its influence in the Asian region. I think that you are in in you've seen in China knows that the dollar is dependent on oil for its value and China two months ago went out and start an oil exchange where you can use pretty much any currency backed by gold seeking converted any currency on the fly. And they're trying to build this thing up in order to have their currency. Beat kind of the standard there but who's gonna trust the Chinese over the United States while Iran and Russia will 'cause they keep getting sanctioned by the united. States aren't. I rate now the price of oil is up a dollar 57 now that's not. The evening hit seventy dollars earlier this week it's at seventy dollars and 63 cents might gases truck we're looking at. You know to 99 gas morally. It at. Based on what I seen today I think that's in on May ninth Jeff I've I think that's probably in line and I think that this thing has chance to go. Higher depending on how this plays out over the next few months I think Saudi Arabia places to Saudi Arabia if they wanted to do favored president trump they could say okay. Iran's going to be pumping less will pump more. I don't think you are doing and I'd like you are Saudi Arabia would do that because I want eighty dollar it it really depends where. The saudis want to align themselves at this point I mean this this is when you talk about this ship this is a major shift in US policy now. As a chance for Saudi Arabia and Iran are enemies of this is a chance for Saudi Arabia to do a favor to the United States but. They have to take less money but the gain market share. Well in in the question I think is going forward what's most important to the saudis because you look at it right now and when you look at. The geo political system in the Middle East as it stands now. You pretty much got the US the saudis and Israel knows the only three countries that are really on one side over there at this point. Like if you'll get everyone else there aren't you don't really have many friends at this point in Israel the saudis don't like each other anyway. So. It's gonna be interesting it really there's never a dull day. Since November of 2016. Hey one thing that I'm curious about is these higher gasoline prices Tucker sent me this story late yesterday afternoon. Talking about electric cars and you know what nice to talk about electric cars Wiig has been teasing me about electric cars for long as I can remember. Yeah the it was not nobody's gonna buy an electric car. The polling on this has changed one in five Americans. Say that they are likely to buy an electric car for their next new vehicle this is according to a survey that was done by tripling. Believe the wanna see it via make the but that this thing is they're coming down in price you look at the Nissan leaf. I'd I'd say right now I drive hybrid electric cars yet again like 5060 miles. And battery in the nice switch over to gas yet. My next car I had to violent and sick totaled my car and I needed a new and I'd probably blog at the Nissan leaf. So you would because you're already using an electric and yard using yet that the bolt is you've got the volt vault but not applicable you've got the TV for victory this there they're already smaller cars okay they're already being a buyout. And so I look at. The kinds of cars they bands out of the kinds cars people are buying today. They're buying crossovers suvs and pickup trucks. The only body styles that we have coming out for electric vehicles now. Our sedans and hatchback swept the art buying yet he is coming out with an electric you're gonna see the suvs coming out electorate with in the next. Not not in the nineteen models that twenty models don't do well. Now I did you can't power a vehicle that happy dad is it's a week you know that's that's that that's the problem it's it's the weight because you look at something if you pull up. The Nissan leaf and say okay how much is this thing actually weigh in and and I have no idea what we're gonna find here it's like the Nissan leaf weighs about 3400 pounds of if you what's what it's a popular suvs toyed around for a share something a rat or CRB. On this here. So even the route for your common in 10% above that about 3700. Welcome you say it's not that much ignored a power okay. You go from sixty JW two 65 this except here's the thing you've got to factor in battery and a so if you factor that in your writing another 300 pounds all of a sudden your 4000 pound vehicle. How we get that being moved in the way you want to. Soccer you re re yeah. Chuck is prejudiced he doesn't like. Electric cars where you you're you're you you actually thought about it you Europe I thought about for total to ten seconds. Now brown this is nothing attractive about their missed atlas I wanna splurge and you know by a Tesla supplement that way I'll ever. Milk. Or not one that you're not one in five but. On not a jock here and chuck is not in the one and finally I missed and I don't put words in your mouth that you would you consider. You your car's about crap out and he got. Records at 8000 miles on I get another six years don't know I treatment after. Eighty balancing aboard as it were drive in the same car we know I don't get my Angel on my vehicle I'd get my enjoyment for golf. There I get nuke only failure to get a golf cart like the electric car detonated on the course to get married until I went so my view is I'll consider them when I did that was and that the question news William. Yet right about that that WS that I consider them Nagano is your next car going to be electric. You you have to know the answer now it's its eateries it's either eat considerate as yeah. It shocked if if your card just craps the bed tea the oil well which I don't want to overdo it and I want that exercise today we're getting now there and tiger he says they'll suck on an immediate help and on on the new meaty so one out of three here but it but our poll question. And we're here to talk about a brand new product available for landlords it's called Z deposit dot net Jake. What. Terry we created a security deposit product. To really help the problem a lot of land border facing with security deposits which is. You know one it's time consuming to open the small internal security upon cumbersome it's. And yet to go into the branch gets signed paperwork and their small dollars in in the turn. And it certainly the complaints in Massachusetts really tough for landlords and security deposit accounts. You have to give them ten in certain forms when they open up the count and you have to pay interest a new and we should do all this canal through Z deposit. All of that you can do through Z deposit it literally takes about forty seconds to open up an account. We handled the automatic forms that are generated the account number department commission statement all that said lieutenant. And the interest descent to the tenant. Automatically every year. This sounds like something it's going to be very valuable to large landlords it might have 200 tenants. And small landlords and might only have five tenths yeah absolutely with a large landlords. It's just a lot of hassle to managed so we make dad very efficient. For the small landlords a lot of them are afraid of nineteen complaints done correctly so some of them. Some of them don't even like taking security deposits were hopeful that this will help them do that. Folks if he'd like to learn more about C deposit go to their website Z deposit dot net. Or you can call and speak to somebody on disease deposit team it's 7816418691. Or online at Z deposit dot net it helps. So only 13% of our listeners say that the next car's going to be electric so worried that polling below hole. That other poll. Yeah I think we're gonna and I haven't voted yet another audio haven't voted you and I voted yes so that's like skewing really bad. I think the idea of the show we're going to be twenty mil we're now twelve and a half percent. They'll look dated I just put it out there but do you think are. The thing if gas was narrow 350 does it influence people to because electric is cheap. Here's the problem is who's given who's making these vehicles it's cheap now solicit and all of a sudden electric vehicle demand goes up by a 100%. Where to get the battery components for how much is it allowed a lawful that's that's a problem they they literally running you know it's upon its its not lake and internal combustion engine queries say look we need steel aluminum and OK we can we can get those different pieces there. If you say look we need to double the amount of batteries that we need them. Where do you get the lithium power India to buy gas. It guys so let me think I do about 18119100. Miles a month so that's a bow. Five maybe six tax write about one half tanks we. So imagine that are your choice that we know my wife and tire bowl once a week once and yet it's never happened to buy gas never happened in oil change. It never discuss an oil change just that I it would elect of trees at Ellis a blast and it cost you went and our car feels good to them no I mean yeah caution our at the end of the day program and what is accosted. You know to fill the tank five minutes. Imus fill the tank Marie. During tournament 3.2 and a half three day and I'm from court at the pump there travel to Mars bar inside. Let's talk about movie pass I think a lot of people may not know what movie pass is I know what it is because I go to the movies every week it is more than half. It's gonna go I just have to pay if it if I. No I I got I bought a one year subscription to movie pass which entitles me to go to one movie. Every day. Not anymore Souza well there's just so we are well known and well because they changed their policy to four times a month. They just changed it back all they did they date back at least they have that as long we're going out of business we might as well go out with a anxieties. So the problem is moving past the company that owns them is called. Hugh Leo some maps and analytics why they called that I have no idea is neither here list nor maps and actually runs the company. They say they have fifteen and a half million dollars in cash. They owe. They spend 21 point seven million dollars every month Sodini got a couple weeks left. I think so here's the thing they have 28 million dollars that are owed to them by there merchant processors you might have like six weeks six weeks so I go to one a day for the next six weeks I'm still ahead of the but that also I've I've already seen enough here's the problem is if you start going to more movies yet negative and it shortens even more so. I I don't know what the plays here it's either if. You wouldn't you wouldn't go lot by what these movie passes now when you turn itself won't like it but it's ten bucks a month. Right so you could just like you want to go out of business and being and we give me yours for a here's the deal values and their problems one of the problems they're having is people. Giving tickets to their friend officer you know who hears that they can I do. I'll buy your pass for two dollars a month you you know its part date you because you have to happen on your phone to resistance to all its the the what you know that right away now works is. You have to be with in 75 feet of the theater. Then you'd. Order your tickets on your full rate which is on your own personal device Oka and then you take the ATM card out of the wall it. And go to the ticket will purse and not take apart and you go to the ticket machine what you wanted to reserve tickets and advancing McCain. And that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of the port anyway. That's how they try to stay in business Tyler they are I think they got to make it kinda hard for India here's here's the problem is this stock in the last. Month and not even month last. Three weeks is down 75%. Then they're telling us that panics it's down an additional 30% today after being down 30% yesterday. It's over it's fake it was a nice run what's gonna be interesting is this was a stock that back in October on October 9 last year. The stock was trading at twenty dollars and forty cents actually hit an all time high of 38 dollars briefly for one day in and I'm very accuracy with the SEC investigation looks like into this because why would there be an SEC investigation is that chart on this looks exactly like a pump and dump. Steve Fink the insider I'm all ears to see if there's insider selling that happened there if there were shell companies that we're selling back then because we don't have any information that I know but I've seen charts like this before and it screams pump and on the space. It did anyone think this business model would work. Now did anyone call you could sell well I did I see I thought that the had arranged in negotiating discounted tickets. I thought they had. Like it was like we're you know they were buying full like I know but I didn't they they can do know that when I signed up I thought they had negotiated deal where you bots are they bought surplus tickets for a buck apiece or something like that. In the theaters wanted to get people into the theater because then they buy the popcorn in the chalk let's that was but that that's great balked. Except that it turned out there by a full priced tickets and like there's there's no way you can spend full price on something it's always like a Ponzi scheme with that's the thing it lit it it feels like a Ponzi so it sounds like a high school project like some high school student came up but this idea and like presented it's a classic just doesn't make any sense this company a good old Stevie Helio isn't Billy Madison their Matheson or whatever and the nets. Whatever name is. Hate you may have difficulty buying a Ford F series truck why. We'll let you know when we return to the financial exchange. Life goes on FaceBook and follow us on Twitter. Time now for Wall Street watch a look at the market's performance so far today until Berrian jug right here on the financial exchange radio network. Michael Armstrong joins us now for Wall Street watch and Mike thanks for coming on. But so we're talking about. First. A trip advisor to report quarterly profits they are taking off. Accurate by the stock is not doing nine dollars over 22% right now they doubled doubled quarterly profit. Compared to test test that's. Unique visitors to web site we're increasing number are you there were posted increased pretty substantially so pretty. Substantial quarter for our trip advisor. No match group the owner of match dot com I believe there reported earnings recently what are we see from them. They'd get they actually had a fantastic core they'd be content estimates. They should toward the talk between six cents a share. They increased their forecast is well. It gave good guidance is the continued concern here seems to be around Facebook's. Newly announced service that is going to be trying to presumably takes some customers away from match match come out and said you know FaceBook relation to have an impact on our business at all. But interest you in spite of such a they have strong quarter out of mashed the stock started out. Before the market opened up 5% currently down by the percent. Lastly what do we see on monster beverage. Be reported earnings as well they've missed very lightly by about a penny a share. Main concern seems to be higher cost around console and it and as well as of the sweeteners put in their Brett it is. Stock is down about triage if he spent six and half. Good thank you might. That is Mike Armstrong with Wall Street watched on our obvious text line 863 writes Berry broke the grip electricity isn't cheap. Batteries are expensive and where in the factory in of the cars in well let me just history six. Electricity is considerably. Less expensive than gasoline when it comes to powering your vehicle to about one half the cost. And then we hired you of the mean you play the mean in your garage. If you don't have a pride you get that installed. News or actress Ali is those special charging dock while I have one because that one charge that they need that for most people. Most of my fellow Chevy Volt owners despondent in India. And it you know there's a face like a vacuum what does it really isn't a weekly columns with a little eight crack team of hamsters that are big wheels 603 rights by the way to reaffirm my position here. Very I have a bolt and I love it charge for free at work saving me a hundred dollars a month on gas next car will be pure electric laugh. As icy bill paying high prices up at and I just I got to say it's just you are my brother what if what if you are my brother from another quarter of your work doesn't have a look at where if your work does have a charging dock no problem. Boldly go on Jersey. You had the the you have to you actually have to pay I do it charge charge network. My car my car is charging right now and Gerald tenants appreciated the electricity costs being passed along in Iraq now it's wreck it big in in my at least if you look at my east from hospitals incorporated to me see the little sign up. Now it marks here now electric vehicles. Domestic pets and they get preferred parking at the airport. You also get preferred lane usage. You know just what about the heat and what our grocery store Whitley means. You've never seen it like playing electric there's a eight I see you in its year. Ago in the hov lane the one with Atmel passenger. Maintenance Aaliyah. No you cannot. Aren't you special part you know the special parking Logan Airport. I believe it was us that report to the airport spokesman for the fifth. Let's explain why consumers might have difficulty. Buying an X years struck out anyway you need to pine F series truck. The old days I would wait IV is it's already too late if you go to your local Ford dealership and you try to by truck. The targeting the views zero discounts. Yet the big thing is there is a suppliers plants in Michigan. That knocked out to that was knocked up because of a fire at that Klansmen and so they can't build a critical part for the F 150 and they don't know how long productions necessarily going to be down. They said it it could be days could be weeks but they're not sure. And pretty much that they have a backlog we probably have. Usually what does the company have like thirty days of the thirty to 95 via such elective the year in the first get to ninety that's bad disease and that's on an that this is. Like me well outdoor vehicle in the country right so they sell like 800000 of these a year Zito and your EU go to by truck today were Kennedy leave. They may charge you more actually you maybe it might doing this he's addressing a sticker price might not be bad actually. And that the component by the way that is manufactured at this other plants in Michigan. It's it's effectively part of the instrument panel so Billy you wanna make sure that you're speedometer works is if it doesn't. Things don't and well. Ray ray well believe it's it's an interest thing. Situation for four days it's a classy probable. You don't buy a lot of amputees you know buys electric cars if you ever looked there. They're knows well educated engineers. Prevent. My friends and engineer museum after I know he's trying to cut a sure you'd. They record number of job openings six point six million and you've ever seen this before we get more job openings we have unemployed people. Yet this is the other highest level since the Labor Department started tracking this back in 2000 and you do now have begin more jobs than unemployed people why is wage growth so that. Emily good talking about this day coming. It's the best job market we've seen since probably 1990 nines so I have an interest in corollary to the wage growth story in that. The Labor Department they only measure what you're actually paid in your paycheck. You ran a business and how much of your employment cost gone up over the last four years. But that doesn't factor into how the Labor Department calculates wage for real. No doubt that they don't look at the benefits your paying them a look at you know affect your health insurance costs were up 16% last year and you know that that would how did they measure when we hire new employees that's doing the seemed jobs. As an F five year old employer. And employee and you had a hair higher wage is that it that is something that occurred. Says that one more time your hiring an entry level employee today. The wage for that entry level employee today is higher than it was five years ago substantially higher. I don't know the exact methodology to have their but I know they'll look at wheat cells. I think part of the reason why you're not seeing wage growth is that employers are paying more in other places other than pure wages you know it. You look at it and let's say that for an employee. It cost 101000 dollars pay their health insurance every year that goes up by a thousand the next you're doesn't show up anywhere and any Charlton. Not at least for wage growth 63566. Trust I think in the trust world it's not even trust the Clinton nominee relationship nominee Rios distrust I know but it's not. What I mean by that is. When you put your property into a nominee realty trust folks please go look at who the schedule beneficiaries are that you listed to separate piece of paper attached it fits that children and you gave way to the children you don't even know anymore you'd realize you gave it away because it takes effect immediately not your death which is the difference and many people think that that doesn't take effect till your death. More importantly if it's. If it was like my wife and I in the schedule beneficiaries as my wife and I really didn't wondering what's right back in my name and my wife's name sorties are lighter and point it would even avoid pro so why is it being done so. Thank you Trevor we're talking about Spectra energy partners with the ticker S. EP. And does little bit about company what they do. But apparently they're it was spring finally coming for all of Europe in the northeast at that we. Think back here all the bid to the brutal where the guys that. Specter. Is the one that kept you warm couple it's on a country going. Almost half of the gas they came into. Your region kept that you don't have pick played on. That came from Spector earned it for multiple what it does. It takes it to own astute pipelines that take natural gas either from the Gulf Coast in about not all the way from Louisiana. Or from the Pennsylvania area and should it into the utilities. That then distributed. To all of you who aren't here colts. Now we're gonna have this company drives it looks like the the stock price is down about 25%. In the last couple months so I'm curious with how cold it was this winter what's the reason for that shift in the price of the stock. Yes Witherspoon thinks got within a Wall Street community about. Federal regulators and cutting some of the rapes though what Specter doses they just charge the utilities or the gas drillers and producers. A reservation created a you have to pay just. A certain dollar amount and you take care of the guests will do ship between two points. So what the regulators in the Washington upside is we might make you cut that rate they charge. To either the producers or the utilities. And not that would reduce earnings and potentially. Epic year that could reduce the distribution. Looking at this company it looks like are they organized as a master limited partnership. They are indeed the MLB structure so that is one thing to consider. And your tax deferred accounts this might not be the best place to put it. Taxable account that it works quite well. Because you do an effective deferred tax within a penalty structure on the distributions. On a dividend the ticket distribution. One thing that I noticed and speaking about that distribution that they put out if my math is right the payout on that right now. Is north of 8% I'm curious if that's sustainable. Or if that's potentially can be reduced going forward. First the big fear and you're correct to almost 9%. Hear that they're paying out big here right now is that that federal regulation. Comes and cuts the rate that piece that Specter chargers to the utilities. And the gas producers. And then earnings go down cash will go down and then they have deter him. The distribution. The key with Specter why we don't think they will they have a lot of backing from their parent company and for sure very very large Canadian based. That energy company and urges countries said they were going to cover you. And were were OK with you panning out I distribution because Denver owns 83% of the company. So it Spectra cut its dividend and cut the description rather than and bridge loses a lot of cash coming in the door now. Very good Travis thank you for the time today. It Travis milk from Mort start talking Mets Specter energy partners the ticker on the by the way is SEP. 70%. Of the people who owned electric cars have a college. Level degree. The Roth conversions a little bit of a mystery for some folks are Mike what are we talking about when we talk about. Roth IRA conversion yes so unlike the traditional 401K or IRA where you receive a tax deduction for putting money into an IRA. The Roth IRA you put regular dollars and you don't receive induction but any of the growth is completely tax free number of advantages there there's no required and distribution and can be uses are really good source of tax free income later in retirement. When you convert in higher to a Roth IRA which are doing is you're taking money out of that traditional account. Putting it into the rock paying the taxes up front in order should never pay the taxes on the growth down there. So this is a case where you actually voluntarily decide to pay the tax usually with the idea that you're going to be in a lower tax greater rather rather a higher tax rate later on. And so this gives the ability to not pay taxes higher rate later. Absolutely correct so oftentimes people do it in a year which there and lower tax bracket intentionally. But I'd be very careful about when you do it. Folks Roth conversions they can be a little bit Dicey just trying to navigate the different tax brackets and so forth and so are strong advisory group has put together. And up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Barry Armstrong and chunks. It's. President has pulled us out of the Iran nuclear deal and it has said the impact of raising the price of oil you've seen it you are paying more for gasoline today. And you were six months ago or talk about how long that increased price last will also be talking about. And apple on many of view of phones called ways and then finally shocks head's gonna spin around when he learns that. More and more people are taking out 96. Month auto loan. Hi everybody it's Berrian truck with you here it's a Wednesday. And you know the price of oil DK was who was inching Turkey's leading up to the announcement. The price of oil came down yesterday is about sixty bucks a barrel now it's up the dollar 81 at 77. Per barrel. And I'm predicting three dollar to 99 dollar gasoline. For Memorial Day weekend. But is this is is this. You know is it one of those things and sell the. And by the by the rumor sell the news that he will come back down in price once they realize about the sanctions aren't that bad. No I think this puppy customer Ron do you think oil prices can actually hire to do how much hired him this week is chuck if you don't know jockeys Canada. Technical and urgent need is like charts than. He can tell you how little the stock market's gonna go or at least in theory. And how high the I think in short how how long how high does ago I think over the next one to three years you could see it get into the mid eighties at some point that's not good. Good that means that you're talking and I think you got your your target 350 gallon I think you have a weaker dollar come and office and I've been saying this bird we have about six months now needs and I think you have a significant weakening in the dollar coming off this is I don't think there's going to be as much dollar demand does that mean interest rates or go to part two I think rates have there was so there's there's two ways you're in the or play tight. I still think yeah for hikes this year for hike is there's two ways that the Fed can play it is okay they can go to Paul Volcker Rupp where they say we need to defend the dollar at all cost and they can raise interest rates through the roof and slow the US economy down. That's a possibility in the other when they can do is they can go back to wat. He don't want people are buying more bonds in 1945 and say look we know there's inflation we're gonna sell these bonds two and a half percent you can buy for ten years you're gonna get two and a half percent inflation's gonna run hot. And we're gonna deal with that so. Either way. The US consumers don't be stuck paying more for something either ignored or gasoline. I think no matter what the pay more for gasoline I think the question though is you know do rates go up or do we let prices go up. And I don't know the answer. So talker if trucks right and we're all going to be paying more for gasoline. Why does everybody hate electric cars as we have this poll question. 20% they do is survey done in 20% of consumers said their next car is going to be electric in our. Survey today news is your next car going to be electric and last time I checked is like 7% it's 8% now if all it's about a ma am numb rising up they got to convert. I act I converted some. The white lighting why the hatred. It was electric carts poll on the techs I've upstart to get a complex people are hurting my feeling I mean a thing around these parts at the weather's a factor on June yeah unique electric cars are not greens and I'm catching cold efforts are married off Florida I think it's a different story they saw the most is out west sure. California I think about it like your pain right now along and only a pain in for gas and LA forfeit. No it's not and me it's four. I think it's just blow at them pick in mid threes all hold no known. Or arms filed on Martha's vineyards 369365. In California that's. Now that that's part of the reason they're very popular there. He has ever heard ways WEZ. One day. So let's say it's her names like Tuesday her name is way easy that's caller. We explain explain what we easy way it is yes so what ways is a in a mapping software was developed by an Israeli company and sold to cool about seminary years ago they get they need the billion dollars. It. Hardly anything in these. Yeah and in pretty much know what they what it does it allows you to suits of mapping software it's like Google Maps or apple nationalized to put an exit deal better then Google. It was he does he use a do you preferred over whom I used to now as I please do musical maps overweight is why. Just as cleaner in this you know interface and I feel like ways is more distracting with you know police officer is. You know why not putt well you speak here. You don't you do to eagle fourteen miles Oreo. It here the streets saying enough we can all be forced to go below the speed limit in our electric vehicle. But a debt polling site is financial exchange showed dot com maybe the second our listeners. Will help me out. Is your next car going to be electric go to our website financial exchange showed dot com or text me at 635661. Time Dexter sucked but my name first Berry. But the I use ways exclusively I do not use Google Maps Oca and I use it because it helps me circumvent traffic. It'll tell me that all the data from ways is put in to cool maps right. No yeah they use the day's only recently map is Google map that looked like. You must think to Google Maps is better than weighs what makes it better than ways and wires that he's giving all ticked off that way. It's it's cleaner interface and they're not they're not upset just ways it's all these mapping software. Pieces and in the reason why and an Alltel because I see this in my town is I live on a major road and what I see is there's intersection right next to me where if you go one way it takes you choose main road and highway if you another way takes through his back neighborhood. Just about every one during rush hour. Turns off and goes through the back neighborhood because there app has told them this is going to be faster than sitting in traffic on the main road and it doesn't always work out that way because they're sending so many people through that back road because I experience this. You know the and a lot of times I will use what ways is telling me. Because the ice I know that there over the Iraq can handle it well and here's the thing so the back roads were all this traffic with being routed to two. They put speed bumps and did that they put spears you and want to fat because people were flying at lake 45 miles an hour down these roads hazardous it look like these. And these are like narrow old country roads like news does not really anywhere that you can hide if like the cars common that well part of the problem too as they those roads get so busy people can get their drive yet the UEC it's under Russia or all of a sudden there's just this line of you know twenty cars in a row that's coming through and you sit there. In nearly. None of these people live here know who live here and so all these towns are saying look we need to figure out some solution to this because. You know people said look I wanna live in a quite neighborhood now don't have a quiet neighbor. Tucker what time do you live island Marshall march field manner and marsh race and and chuck you're in Westwood. We're we have a segment coming up. Where we are going to announce the top ten school. Districts and every New England state that's on you guys don't come from school districts though it is partial as a fantastic to. You know. The united not according to our report which rankings are these by the way. He had the the you're gonna do it sale keynote talk at the US news and world report that's coming up it's it's gonna be very soon you're gonna learn terribly ranking would delay they're new they're great my towns like right up there. But we we are gonna have that so be sure you stay with US news is famous for pretty much telling you and then and it tells you one of two things tells you where Smart kids already exist when it went into the biggest donors. They don't know we're we're doing the these are very independent rankings and because my town there. All and Tucker wrecking our studio. To those people who watch us desk it's all right there are more people taking out 96. Month auto loans now adopted the never finance car over more than three years because after three years you don't know especially beat rival like three years. You eat your car may still run your beat some money until you're gonna have maintenance issues with the vehicle typically. After a three year period time. Yeah the problem with a 96 month alone or eight years. Is that let's say that you do need new car five or six years from now. You may have less value on the car than you have loan outstanding while that happens all the time meaning you may need to roll that into a new loan and all of a sudden you're rolling loans in into a new loan for depreciating assets which is typically the quick. Think about is there any quicker way to lose your money then to borrow money for something that goes downtown value that's guaranteed to go down the average term track on a new car loan now is 67. Months. You know what I think the problem is not Carl last 67 month and is this gets to you know you questions about electric vehicles to as much I knock electric vehicles. There's a lot of benefits to using them. Americans are dumb about buying cars out I'll give me some examples emotionally and the status symbol everybody knows what kind of the art that Americans we tend to buy a car for the 10% you scenario we say. Well I like to go home people on the weekend so I need to pick up truck. Well unless your contractor. It's cheaper feed go to Home Depot and rent to pick up truck ten weekends a year than to go one by one man but it's fun to have. It might be fun but when you have this what do you have an eight year low near roll it over six years out it's not on any doping distant pickup truck so I won't I won't pick up trucks I don't think the average American needs to own one because they use it five times a year. Or the people who say oh we've got two kids so we need a minivan was seven seats. Why for the one time a year that you pick up all their little friends and decide to put him in the back of the cal if the card not your hockey coach you've got crap in that. So that's New England prominent Minnesota problem but what about the other. You forties and issues there's a few occupiers in like six of them there what's the what's the link throttle on your fine. Three heroes pay five I I tell my kids three and not that my kids listen to me right when they asked me for advice I'll tell them. You know listens to me more than my kids. My nieces and nephews bill called me and actually take my place my kids take my advice and they do exactly opposite we here's what you should do is you should give the advice that you want to give your kids. To their aunts and uncles and and have them what do you write that in light juvenile and Eagles take advice from their aunts and uncles and not from there such a small meals. Across the board I don't like always and a way. A tall. OK. I'm not know don't forget we have the top. Raided millennial school systems tool lets the nation in all six New England states. Matt you problems because the visa changes right note in and that that that was part of the problem but we're we're gonna have a conversation with that change the about just. Joining us on the line now is seen you race from the Wall Street Journal Sadie thanks for joining us today. Having Cheney so let's talk about these these talents in Ohio. That can't find workers and they they're there there's such a worker shortage there that they're willing to pay people. To move there. Yes that's great and I it's not just happening in Ohio it's happening all over the country and you know we unemployment below. Match. The company didn't. You know crossing over into that territory. Worker shortage where it's becoming harder her company's that's fine people QL job. And eating habits all of her but it sort of more than a year and the smaller eighties smaller town on an especially in the rural areas of the country. Where there are jobs especially in manufacturing. But there just aren't enough people to take those jobs though. Additionally companies have been the one you offered no big on it is or different types of ready to get people to come places and now you're being actually. The eighties community foundation and civic leader is kind of coming together and trying to offer money. To get people living there. JB a lot of these cities and towns are in areas. That may have seen and exists of people over the last decades people left them looking for work it's a little ironic now that EC these same places saying look we don't have enough people here we need to get you back from wherever you came from. Yes that's true and the migration is that nationally significant among younger population. Though. For younger Americans. You know people we called millennial. Were born in 98 you're after. You know those people have been migrating to cities and the Great Recession and so. A lot of these places you know like we talk about the play they Hamilton County in Ohio that I focused on com. You dare big problem is that they have just a lot of older people omni don't have a lot of young people and their concern is that. You know without the kind of amenities that attract young people. They're not going to be able to get any young people filled the air to air the money that they're giving it actually very specifically spoke at a pain in my and that. And eight gig you know here we know there's the problem that you know students are burdened by eight. You know loan let offered at pay off their student loans for a few years that they agreed with our downtown area. Jenny how much money is a city like Hamilton and offering to pay toward student loans. The right now they're offering 5000 dollars. They. He probably your point increase pack and about and at some point on the program had actually started yet they did in the first year they've just accepted their applications. At least of the rating of that out of the writing of this story they had it you know picked. Who had money yet. Com but they're still testing it out that this had been. Going on in other places to actually got I yeah. Worked with matter. Indeed. You can't count Michigan and who is doing that was doing that and they were getting about 101000 dollars. And then there's some places that are offering land. And like you get anywhere from about I think and about ten but in places like bed. You know like at Hamilton Ohio. Back to go along way. Is this happening just in these smaller towns at this point are you seeing larger cities offering these plans as well. You're just seeing it in eat smaller town. Or smaller sticky. You know nobody needs to be paid money to live in San Francisco. Weary and places like opt in and that her and you know those who'd been. He'd US cities. Are doing pretty well and even even some sort of what you would call second tier smaller level US cities arguing about. But they knew you'd you have BP. Cities where manufacturing within that very happy a look at media likes it and Addie com column that. Where I think it's a little bit there and they're not doing quite as well and trying to find their footing by. They haven't started actually offering money yet I think that this sort of a novel approach it maybe the most extreme approach you want to hope that you could. Offer and not without having to get people cast. And I think when you're seeing people aren't at that. It's sort of you know a lack. It's staffer where people are at thinking OK we don't have in this place. What people would actually want to move your electric hope that if we bring to hack if we get them to act out get them out here. What I find so interesting about this is you know for the last eight to ten years we've seen all these stories about. Be a city X gives companies ten million dollars in tax breaks or statewide gives company. A hundred million dollars in tax breaks it's never been the individual who's gotten them. But individual seems to finally have value here now just because. They're there are enough people to go around there are enough workers. It completely true and you know it's still valid not giving big tax said that it but think about. Amazon search further back at headquarters they thought and it won the final act. And you know I mean there's a New Jersey has offered that seven billion dollars in tax incentives built in the fight for big companies and getting them all sorts of goodies. Is tight end non can always going to be around. I think it you know you're completely right there's definitely been shipped right now on the economy where. The most valuable asset the most precious app that right now it actually people and back at the end of not example anyone of the debate issues that they had in terms of where they want to take their headquarters. He's been very simply we're going to find 50000 people. For jobs and and now you know they're not gonna be going to Hamilton Ohio because you don't have if people haven't people you know. Even have a few thousand people. And still you know this kid if they count right now on the economy. Very good shape to thank you for joining us today. Jane erased from the Wall Street Journal well let's point out too that. They want people that are educated. Be you know they're not they're not paying this Amazon you're talking about just in general Amazon and and the east cities that are paying people to move to the town. They're not if you don't have a certain skills that they're not gonna pay the 5000 dollars or eight week in the example that we are talking about Hamilton it's toward student loans are not how does he didn't go to call. And that now the it just the sometimes people get it all I can get five grand by movement so will now not real it's via. It's it's a package ready that they're accepting as as as Cheney said they're accepting applications not just you move and then they pay you no matter what. Coming up we will share with you the top ten school systems in every New England state that is next on the cutting tools. Very our chart here and I'm joined by Todd let's keep from the law firm of Cushing in dole and we're talking about something that sounds pretty basic. But how do you how should you all your real estate tadic you're real estate is Indy nominee realty trust. Is that going to be protected from the nursing home and also will it avoid probate when you die. GAAP most miss understood. Trust I think in the trust world it's not even a trust the Clinton nominee he relationship nominee realized distrust I know but it's not. What I mean by that is. When you put your property into a nominee realty trust folks please go look at who the schedule beneficiaries are that you listed to separate piece of paper attached if it's the children and you gave way to the children you don't even know anymore and you realize you gave it away because it takes effect immediately not your death. What's the difference and many people think that that doesn't take effect till your death. More importantly if it's. If it was like my wife and I and then the schedule beneficiaries as my wife and yeah well that we didn't wondering what's right back in mind game and my wife's name Sochi your lighting and point it would even aboard pro so why is it being done so because lots of times people might go to maybe real estate attorney and they think can help the trust in the throat and a realty trust. We used realty trust it's just important that the schedule beneficiaries. Is another state planning trust revolt cobol or read her bureau correct there not a person not your kids not yourself. Please look that up if you've got one of these. You know it sounds pretty basic how ocean you'll your real estate but it gets complex as you get older call Cushing handle and and receive their brand new guide for the different types of real estate ownership the phone number is 866. 8485699. In interest in corollary of that yes. Let's let's is this just agree thought experiment and go back to history over the last 200 years. What historical figure would have had the most Twitter followers. Q how would you know that theoretical and Abraham Lincoln. We can win a popular America George Washington. Winston Churchill Churchill I think would have been really strong yes I think his Twitter game would've been really good have been like you don't start tweet beef with when he's in he's trumping. And he used. He did trump before trump the trump. Winston was at church Churchill would've been very good I think. Shakespeare. Time for top school too long when did I. I promise you top schools. In in each New England state. But before do that I wanna talked about the best states for education college readiness Massachusetts. New Hampshire New Jersey Vermont Connecticut Maine Minnesota Iowa and Rhode Island so I will tell you. That the six New England states are all. In the top nine in the country. For education we invest New England now invests heavily. In education missed as a surprise of no one. Well I just think it's it's. Its interest as an end pat on the back now you guys were were bragging or by school system truly good what's not. The best school system in the state of mass we ought to go ten to one or one to ten. Just. At number ten via number ten is that John DO Bryant school mathematics and science in Roxbury aka number nine is Arlington high school. Number eight is Dover sure burned number seven is the town I live in mid field senior high school. Followed by Boston Latin academy Hopkinton high school very at school system that's got to Libyan seed money. When X mystic valley regional charter school in Malden advanced math and science academy charter school in Marlboro one number. Number two and number one. Boston Latin it's. Always always in his. Pretty consistently. But today I noticed that we receive Marcia Marcia your not in the top and chuck Westwood you just buy a house there or not. I always hate these rankings. I do to love because it's all based I love them and what are they basing it on did you see you perhaps tell you exactly what else I houses based on what I know that's why I hate it is just people buy houses based on a ranking that doesn't tell you how good defeated actually is for their student. Management property. Still no goes. I can tell you what goes into it actually read the methodology just various on it. So step one to. Is they want to see whether or not the school students are performing better than statistically expected for students in their state so like MCAS in Massachusetts state level testing tokens like that. Step two they assess whether they're historically underserved students performed better than the state average for historically underserved students. Step three. Is that you have graduation rate benchmarks and so force. And step for this we're really all of the the filtering out actually happens is they look at the percentage of people taking AP courses the people. They're taking I'd be courses and things along those lines so the problem is. This pretty much is a measure of where Smart people are not whether or not schools are doing a good job educating and took them story it let's go through the other five state okay where it's Connecticut. Yeah Connecticut and number of where recessed at the bottom at talked bottom. We're grown from tenor for 510 okay. Number ten Wilton high school number nine at Darien High School. Number eight staples high school number seven Greenwich high school all of these by the way like pretty much touching each other. Number six Naples is up in our proposed no staples Westport. Well it sets forth that are in current fair and right in that area you know number six in all the money is the marine science magnet high school of southeastern Connecticut gras and Ridgefield high school. The academy of aerospace engineering in Windsor. Achievement first harper academy Connecticut I'd be academy East Hartford and on the stuff academy in new heap and so about half of them in here and count me in half and parts and what you expect about who which while you you decide which ones you have gotten me here now okay. Number ten is Bangor high van or know hi New York hi. Greeley heists corporal high. Wellesley school Falmouth high school Cape Elizabeth high school in York missed high school coming out with the top pick for the state of me and if we go too well Rhode Island Rhode Island for some reason only has six schools listed in its top ten I I don't know why. It is only six guys so I'm not I'm gonna I also Rhode Island for a period to six we've gotten out hope Playskool. Paul copy high school. North Smithfield. Chara reached so high school down Barrington high and classical. Case of those the six in the top ten for Rhode Island. New Hampshire let's do New Hampshire. We've got winner when a cut high school right out of Hampton. Well we went with their bodily. Extra high Bo hi so he'd get high oyster river high. Hollis Brookline high molten Borough. Windham high Hopkinton high in the academy for science in design and there's your top ten in New Hampshire. And then we had to Vermont in we've got now Rutland. Middlebury south royalty in the COLT Chester Essex craft very South Burlington Montpelier. Arlington and Stowe and as the top ten in Amman. And there you go what was your source on the US news this is US news and world report. You've got bumped from your flight happens. Well actually doesn't happen as much anymore because people get so ticked off a lot of volunteer to get pumped. What we you don't always get as I can get if if there were offered something that you can usually get paid like a lot of times they'll say like were offering this and that Villanova opened up on all of literally say look I'll make this easy for yuppie 50% more than that -- in right away and again. I ended up. I've bumped back by one hour on the united a couple of years back in and out of 500 dollars. Ought to get out of her saving and now it is not 500 dollars in cash it's 500 dollars towards. Your next flight brits I got up a free flight on united effectiveness. But I do that to greet deal for an hour an hour shark he did the rules are. The if you're only going to be if you get bumped in year only going to be an hour within an hour of the original flight you know you get enough. You know well I'll tell united you know maybe as the hour and a half percent well if the. Arrival time is between one and two hours later passengers are entitled to 675. Dollars at a maximum losing 75. If the flight gets in more than two hours later for a domestic flight or more than four hours of it's an international flight. In to flyers are entitled to 400% of the one way fare with a maximum compensation set at 1350. Dollars. And by the way even though there is the minimum number of airlines are above that in terms there Max compensation united is now up to over 2101000 dollars. And delta is in similar territory as well. Uniter rays there's after the video of the doctor getting dragged off the flight while nearly unconscious couple years back. They do it to based on that they can demand that you leave and they do it based on patriot ticket. Yes where they start against whoever paid at least for their tickets the first person off. That's why fly American idea and I fly them so much I figure they're probably not gonna dump me you know if you're flying coach they still well. Even though if violent. How much would qualifies along lake had a dozen times a year now so a lot would be. Two to three times a month or any time you fly those half dozen your flying first class. This is those the people that that's there at their twenty better credit and all the revenues business travelers in the people flying this class of if you're fine once every couple months. I like it and it I've talked to people in the industry they don't care about. And an eight. Let's talk about robots this 25002. Dollar robot wants to put your Starbucks the re stuff out of business what. About like Starbucks now Tucker doesn't even talk to anybody he just orders it on his apps at least. These bill thanks there's there's no there's no cashier in your transaction. I have a good today. There's no cashier here no action balances are involved you you'd use it and I think what would we learn 25% of Starbucks transactions are on line. Yeah slightly higher than. Well. When you say online do you mean is there him. Not just mobile or head like you can pay just with your phone at the cashier Nia yeah I would say it's more than 25%. 30%. According to this is from the choir not to bash issues scan and at the cash register. That you Stiller using cashier when you're scanning the register yes you're you're taught us don't yes yet be back what's happening now more and more and the thing about when you walk in a Home Depot that you talk to the usual capture more a year you're just not enough. Automated check into this automated check out of home deep or not good clothes are pretty good The Home Depot what's the difference so the home deep ones they don't have little that they hand held things rights of the show was like a BP supply would you got to figure out how to turn things out get the little bar code over this in like you're holding this thing that vertically hoping you'll land on the person behind zero that would push the help but it's not doing a push to help it's not in there keep pushing the help closes the same way. I feel like. Yeah yeah I just I just don't enjoy that I don't think it goes. They have four terminals then blows and the analysts have one person there to help. These push button to him. But anyway now they're they're developing robots that'll actually make the copy as well interest will be even less human interaction. Are or feel about three honest I don't know. I cal I can only each beverage I guess especially at a Starbucks to be on. Kind of personalized. A or robot will make a better cup of coffee and you might yet gotten those sold area it it is going to be sold by early this one ways to you. It's Stiller is solidity that. It's still going to be better and might be better yeah. Wal-Mart shares are down we're going to explain why it has to do with an acquisition in need.
