We had three big stories to keep him off. There to begin today's program folks. We're gonna start off the conversation regarding the president and the State of the Union Address. Though her tomorrow it's expected that he will unveil an infrastructure plan and where talk about Heidi before. Then we're gonna talk about for a 12 days vs buying a home if you were advising. A millennial. As to. What would be more important for a went to a war were providing. Money for your down payment on a home who have a conversation how what kind of advice would you give them. And then. People want to know what's the maximum amount of money I can get from Social Security will we got that information tiger but it's Berrian truck with you here on a Monday morning you're looking at didn't ranch and chuck was. I just saw across that ticker cure gay gases gonna try to by doctor pepper. I didn't even know doctor parent were still thing. In other those are not observe them go analogy you know where they go but apparently there they're still here in curing god does appear to be an acquisition mode docked pepper shares upon huge number. On this news here. And so obviously good news for them and cure doctor pepper or cured now buying doctor pepper I don't know what the combined company will be called their under. JAB holdings if you remember. But obviously. Continuing to expand and and clearly they're seeing something in that carbonated beverage spaced about a lot of other people seen. Well on the deal and a snapple as well chuck you know so it's it's not just doctor pepper now it's you know you compare. Doctor pepper and snapple. To Pepsi its small didn't let snapple anymore. I I don't know. I think is a move away from sugar drinks DL listener. Yeah it's it's it's a strange purchase when I look at it just because it's you know we you look what Coca Colin what Pepsi have been doing. And they've been moving all forged waters in that and you know and and natural juices and things like that. In this is kind of flying in the face their so I'll be interest to see how it works out is JB holdings typically has a pretty strong track record. Of nailing these things they they tend to be on the ball more often than not so you know why I say I don't understand it but. They get this base a lot better than I do and so I tend to given the benefit of the doubt even though it's on. To say the more used to fall out more new stuff following oh yes. The it to your point. The move away from sugar drinks. They must at some other type of the strategy. In mind because I think your generation. Mullah heels will be the first generation to raise their kids. With me heightened awareness as a relates to sugar you know ethnic your generation is the first generation to wake up and say it is utterly at four. And and we shouldn't be drinking soda so you guys are drinking soda so it's hard to imagine that your kid's electric. Yeah and I'm going through the list of products that they have. You know they're the ones that don't you who. Yeah eight wasteful that's successful round really but apparently it's still around each other things that they own a and W root beer. Seven I'll. Big red. Komeito Jews Amado Komeito I don't know I a motto of motto whatever. IDC root beer months apple juice. Nantucket connectors is under their umbrella. Schweppes. What else hear that citadel oval sugar and salt it's not credible usher it's a whole bunch of stuff that is necessarily very good Korea. The couple a whole bunch stuff I've never heard of but yet it's if it'll be interesting to see what's your green mountains able to do with the site. I wonder if some of this has to do with you know they're trying to you welcome that would that there's they have that device that. Instead of you know just secure devices they've got the soda stream thing like make your own soda yeah it was terrible they stopped I know the soda when they still have. They had one birdie they had that was supposed to be like make your own beer or something like I can't remember what it was they have another it was apple ever call the episode stream they still half. It's just they they like miss priced at horrible instant it didn't it didn't sell well but I know they still have to. Well we'll see it pay that the president tomorrow night at his State of the Union Address is expected. To Europe for one trillion dollar infrastructure plan. And lord knows we need to I mean if you drive around New England driver on this country. Our infrastructure is literally falling apart bridges are dangerous our highways are atrocious. And and we need a big infrastructure spent the problem is Heidi pay for the. That's the the literally one trillion dollar question. And you know there's been some talk of raising the gas tax and even the chamber of commerce came out and said look you know raising the gas tax 25 cents over the next five years. Would be something that makes sense. I so here's where I met with the gas tax cut is. I view the gas tax as in the future a source of revenue that is going to decline. For two reasons one we have more fuel efficient vehicles and two were seen vehicles that are moving away from gas in torque electric power. And so if I'm very Armstrong driving along and I've bolts. I'm sadness and now look at all these suckers paying gas tax and I don't have to raise it raise the gas tax but you and your tiny little thin tires are still causing the same level of stress on roads that I cause my super. And so. You know I have tried to figure it out in the thing I come back to is a mileage based tax where you know that that seems to be what is most fair but the question. Is how do you pay that is the gas tax it's almost this invisible tax you go to the pump you you fill up and it just you know it's built right Nancy pay a little bit it's time. If you could do an infrastructure tax you could say okay we're gonna charge an extra penny or two per kilowatt hour and your electric bill. And we're gonna throw 125 cent per gallon gas tax between two of the media and human interest. But if if were looking at this in terms of pay late why don't we make this a usage based tax based on how much you use the roads okay now. Because let's say that I decide I want a bike around and all of a sudden my age I'm getting charged on my electric bill for roads that. I'm not using OK not not the same rate that someone who owns a car is now. I don't know if that's necessarily the cleanest way. Extend it to collect though if you look at how much money we spend look at our whole system track. If it's if it's an expensive and cumbersome so here's system so here's where I was going with that we have to get our cars inspected every single year right so my thought is okay. You get your car inspected you know at the end of the year and they say okay over the net you drove X number of miles last twelve months. And so every month for the next twelve here's what you're going to pay in mileage based taxes and you just do you say OK set up an automatic payment. And boom you're done. What's not you could even to say to register your car for the next year it's gonna cost you an extra hundred bucks yet so it's something that that that's all the like if you every couldn't really be mad about the gas tax idea and I know people are upset that I'm a proponent of it. But it's nine dollars and Rite Aid if they raise the gas tax by 25 cents per gallon kept right. It would cost us all nine dollars a month while who cares rate like. He it saves us that in tires and transmissions and in shock or being in the week. Damaging our vehicles just drop it. Our roads are. Are horrendous to get used to it but the fact of the matter is we we need the infrastructure and you've got a president who's pro infrastructure so yeah I don't like. This is a chance to get something done from an infrastructure perspective and and you and I were talking about infrastructures far I mean we go back you know 23 years on this saying hey look at some point we need to do something here. And so yeah you'd like to see. Then take advantage of the opportunity because. Is that the roads and in more than just rose and it also being able to broaden away from there and say okay. What is the most efficient way to get people from point a to point B because I don't just want extra lanes on highways because all they do was they get clogged up five years amounts of that now we need another one let's let's let's figure out how to get people around more efficiently. And maybe it's not the car. Okay that has to be the focus here. Well the it it may be your last chance to get an infrastructure deal for quite some time as well if you have a divided house after November if you're not getting anything. Pretty nothing for two years so you better do it now worm hole here your hold your breath this could be awhile yup. I started sting article in USA today regarding seating. For buying a house or saving in your 401K plan. And this is I suspect John mrs. A question that you're seeing around with your friends and Tucker I'm I'm guessing this is something. You and your wife have talked about you do to you and your wife for aspiring to buy a house. And the question come up well should we maximize our 401K plan where we get matches and tremendous tax advantages. Or should we minimize our 401K deposits but save a lot of money for the down payment on the house tough questioning at. It is and it you know it in a perfect world obviously you're able to do both but obviously it's not a perfect world and so. I think what's you know it it really comes down to priorities I think Tucker what what what's kind of your approach in the last couple years. Wolf for us personally you know we had a system where were trying to has put money towards a down payment. Is that a biggest focus right now yeah I would say so we're still trying to you know get those assets going towards our savings but the same time. You know I'm contributing each paycheck you know percentage to -- 41 K plan as well and and furthermore we're still trying to pay off some credit card debt at the same time. Yes he is so it's a balance it says in that's kind of how I think most people and of doing is they say okay here's the highest priority but let's make sure that we're still whacking down these other little pieces. That that we need to. What would you advise let's say what are your frat buddies came in it's it just finished law school I got a job on making 150000 bucks a year. That's student loans to payoff but I need to know. Which should make you should I'd Max outlet for what it is a lot of the companies now have matches. Six EI saw a match the other day of 12% of seeing some of the fifteen to 20% range right so you're you're you're now. That generation I'm not a guy gets your generation it. But my advice to my kids has always been. Maximize. Your four case simply because the taxes. Yeah I hate that tax benefits of the four cared so advantageous. I've always said match your 401K and then all help you with the down payment now lot of kids don't have that as an option. Yet I think obviously the 41 K also tends to beauty it tends to bear fruit over the longest time period especially. You know if you're not get and if you if you're getting a match but not contributing to it to get the match you're you're literally leaving free money on the table so. At the very least get the free money. Beyond that it's okay now you can prioritize but at the very least the company offers a match up X percent. Get that Mac that that that is compensation that they want to pay you but you're not getting unless you you put that you know unless you put your happen. Our poll question today is that very question three what is more important putting money in your forward today are saving money for the down payment on house. And if you forty are homeowners and just simply. You know it just tell us how you would advise your children or your grand children go to our website you'd be so kind. It's by any actual exchange showed dot com. And voted our poll what's more important. Putting money in your forward today where money for the down payment is tough question because every kid every younger generation your dressing as a different circumstance. Up next to be joined by Chris Martin from Bloomberg talking about First Solar that is next from the financial exchange radio network. Markets are. But questions remain about whether or correction is coming. We've got you covered every day with what's not and what's not from Mike Armstrong mornings at 1030 only on the financial exchange radio network. For those of us with older parents the idea of having to move one of them and to a nursing home can be a scary thought indeed in New England according to Genworth the average yearly cost of a private room is 126000. Dollars. That number is expected to be 169000. By 20/20 sixth. Think about how dramatically your financial situation would change if you had to write checks to the tune of fourteen grand a month if a nursing home stay is a -- time possibility and you haven't done your planning yet it's time to call the experts at Cushing and Dolan they've got a brand new guide out this month called claiming for procrastinators. Last minute planning techniques can help save your assets and you know in the past Todd we've talked about married couples. What does somebody do that single or widowed or divorced. And they have assets and they may have children amen I have nieces and nephews and hip favorite charities and do what they wanna leave their money should. But the gets sick at their nursing home in the bills accompany him. And you know this is why we stress so much to folks and that. That went there in this situation. Don't just write the check. And think there's nothing can be you know you think in the five year rule that you don't have to do. Seek out you know an elder law attorney and and find out what can be done in this case. I would probably say. House on accountable. If I check a box and you intend to return home a little lean on it but it's not accountable so that's good but the money that war. So they've got money that what you need to do is you either can do and other annuity. An annuity is a technique that allowed you to line annuity and have money pay out as an income stream. Q with the institution delusional yet you lose the income stream while you're in the nurse yes that income does go to the nursing home. But you're on Medicaid instead of on private pay what you can look at these pooled trust that you might be really old and if you're liking your late 80s90s annuities are work right so that you need to go to this pooled trust idea. Put money in the air. And still get on Medicaid as well but they'll have a payback provision but at least two beyond that even single people can protect their assets last minute how do you do so well he call Cushing in dole and an 8668485699. Chris Martin from Bloomberg is on the line with us. You talk about changes in the solar industry and Chris thanks for coming on all on board. Chris we're talking about First Solar in particular and can you set the stage from a couple of years ago as to where this company was coming from. You know I've been covering this company currently subscribe peel that back in 2005. And they had their ups and downs it would but they keep coming back parents. This latest time it is just because the Chinese have been undercutting them in it greatly expanded their solar power production and as basically underpriced personal actually couldn't get. You know did they couldn't get two competitive position. Is that the biggest reason why there appears to be so much turnover in the solar industry is just that that undercutting. Of prices by Chinese competition. Yeah and and it's been a problem for awhile. Even back in. 2011 we the US imposed. Tariffs on imported panel from China. And that didn't work this is another round. Trade complaints that led to this two Donald Trump imposing tariffs on panel again. So looking at First Solar and what they've done to try to deal with things and you know excluding the regulatory ailment. What what have they accomplished here in terms of transforming their business. Well it's amazing it I went to visit there new factory they they basically tore out all the old equipment. And replaced it with. Equipment that quit can produce. Solar panels or triple the size for what they used to so they're more powerful. And more efficient than they used to have plastic meet without nearly as much labor so they've got a bunch of robotic arms flying around the released. Know what giant panels now. So how much labor did they used to use this process how much they used today. Well yeah last time I usually keep to see. Few dozen employees. I'm monitoring equipment that's sort of thing this time around but before that hundreds of people handling glass. And moving things around there was you know a lot corporate breakage and to. So in reducing that headcount how much is that able to shave off the cost for them. Well if it's that in combination with be improved efficiencies so converts mark some like energy. There are there a number of different things to add to a 30% reduction in the cost of producing a panel. Underneath that that the market crisis. And so what does that do as far as their ability to compete how how how is it transform the company they profitable at this point with these new products. If they are profitable. And be releasing higher margins as you know they ramp up to full capacity. They've they've just completed its one factory in Ohio which is. About 600 get lots. Panels. But the the expansion into other countries into Malaysia and the rebuilding factory in Vietnam as well. Umbilical and two that their ability to produce these panels cheaper than than the manufacturers in China. My view on solar has always been it it's nice that you have something going now but it's much like any other type of tech company. Can you stay ahead of the curve what are they doing to try to innovate to the next level of technology that's around the corner. We will do I have to give himself a platform to. Improve their technology significantly over the next few years. In a lab they can generate two over 22%. Efficiency and they hope to be able to get their their solar panels up to that level. That would you know match the best. Poly silicon panels coming out of China and if they can keep improving net. He could no improvement then they will maintain their cost advantage. Well where's the the gold standard as far as where companies want to get to from and efficiency capture perspective can they can they get up to the thirties and forties or is that just not feasible right now. Well it's not feasible now and there are theoretical limitations to blocked silicon panels can do. Because they you know he had to get them down to that there's been smaller. Stick this to gain efficiency and I mean if it turns to crack. But with did it First Solar technology its Caribbean toll right. And they actually passed sprayed liquid onto a panel glass it's made completely differently. And he has a longer road map to get into the high twenties. Am and they think they can do that. Whereas. With silicon panels probably not there are some new technologies coming out that is he coming out of laps at MIT and and other universities where. They're trying to use paparazzi like crystals. To generate electricity from some they are very stable vote so we did a lot more work needs to be done to get them. To the point where they can be commercially. A viable product. Outstanding well Chris thank you for the research and thanks for the time today and we will talk to you soon. Thank you take care that is Chris Martin from Bloomberg talked about First Solar and the changes in their business over the last decade. Nice to see them using robotics to compete with the Chinese cause that is the one way you can't compete with cheap labor it is robotics. And innovation. And you can compete with three dollars now or eight dollars now. Our thoughts and in the new processes as well it's always the thing that I essays you know if somebody is playing an unfair game. You can complain about you can try to handle things on the regulatory side. But take up your own game come out with a better product and that's what they did. Did the superior product because it is the efficiency ratings that your talked to talking to. Lot of people don't understand just how important that is raised those states game changer coming opera we talked about Social Security. Like this on FaceBook and follow us on Twitter. Michael Armstrong joins us for Wall Street watch like we got a couple companies dig into today let's start first with the doctor pat doctor pepper snapple to mouthful. What's going on with them. So they're going to be beaten cute acquiring Q are agreeing down currently privately held company. In news on this executed extract merger Monday doctor stock really hasn't done a whole lot in the last one year stock is that in the 25% on the news today shareholders receive a 103 dollars and 75 cents in cash. And then on 13% of the combined cured doctor pepper company. You will see. Where the real synergies are here where the real savings Dario recently they can merge in every department and cut costs. Not sure where the additional growth really comes from this combined ten days ago what the city. Advancement of its. Start but Wynn Resorts the stock was down 10% on Friday an additional 6% today. How nervous to investors have to be about this company right now. You know I think they're pretty nervous and there's a few reasons this one obviously Taylor hadn't seen as CEO Steve Wynn has resigned as the Republican National Committee finance chair because it back station sexual misconduct. But more and I guess if it. Importantly with this specific company is he as he is the face this company having his you know his signature is the symbol for the company. He has very close ties to the court he is the leader of the company and if there is no concern that you might need to step down investors are clearly very nervous about this so. Stopping down like that 10% on Friday down another nearly twelve dollars today about six and a half percent on the. Very good thank you Mike I. That is Mike Armstrong with Wall Street watched interest in so if you're signature is the logo of a company that you have to be like worried about check fraud or something. Faye you know like right out there. I I'm. I've. Not as concerned about win as their deals as I had a couple. Phone calls about Wynn Resorts this morning. I'm not sure the stock is getting oversold and even bought it yet it and he's one man. Rate and you would you say the stock is down 17%. Stocks down 17% I guess. They know that the question is it in that in history and you know it's a key man based industry especially you know you talk about the negotiations that he had back here. You know in Boston for the win at and so forth you know he used from Connecticut originally and so obviously he played a role in those negotiations. I'd you know we've. Could it be okay so chuck I think you know those things it that's pull a roomful lawyers you know and and yet he can Damien rides in on the white horse gets the deal done that. You know you talk with so what's the market cap company even after the decline in the stock for about seventeen billion dollars you know it's been a big organization they it ebbing there are. He's probably the girl lot of successor plus. The board the guys went 77. Yet I think that the the question with Wynn Resorts it's not if they're existing business nothing's gonna happen to them. The question with Wynn Resorts is how integral is Steve Wynn. To the continued growth of that company opening up new locations and so forth and that's about it I don't know because I'm not in those rooms. But obviously. You know when when your name is attached to the company it it's something that investors worried about a little. Yep you know darn well chalk it if you like Warren Buffett's company ray is names attached that he's in his eighties. You know darn well that that board of directors has a back up right BBC it and and if you're the board of directors for Wynn Resorts and you didn't have a back up plan shame on you. Right in that pissed. The guys in his 75 he could drop dead tomorrow but but we've heard about Berkshire's succession plan for the last twenty years you know. And I hope we've heard a single thing about. Wynn Resorts auto you me you're not gonna your audit but if it's there trust. I mean these boards at ports have a responsibility to the shareholders at the day error if it I'd be absolutely shocked. If they didn't have a number two ready to go when they ate it if they have to go outside to get his successor as I do think he'll and that happened to leave. But if they do have to go outside I'd be shocked I think they'll promote from within I. I guess I just wonder are they going to be able to bring someone in who's as strong weakest coupons to Steve Wynn has done this twice now in terms of building companies from nothing. Yeah yeah he he built up mirage resorts and sold at MGM and then he said you had so much fun doing that let me go do it again. And so you know he he is a pioneer in that space. And I don't know if you necessarily find someone who has the knack for for doing just what he did. It Tucker so what are our poll results so far we've been asking the question witches. You know it would is more important if you're like me and I talked I've got five kids and I talked to them I owes them on them. Are you saving money you're down payment putting money into your 401K plans does. It it's important and that's what father industry you talked to your kids try to give them advice even when they're thirty years old. Our question today is if you were counseling your kid or maybe you're in this Jewish maybe more than thirty. What is more important. Putting money into the forward K. Saving money for the home with the results for yet varies so far 50% of our listeners are in favor of saving for 41 K. 41% urged saying they'd prefer receive for home. Well the website address to participate is financial exchange showed dot com featured it is so I would encourage to you know like I meet as a as a as that baby boomers speaking to assemble meals. I can tell you and I talked to a lot of my peers who are anywhere from you know 57 years old all the way up to 7273. Years old. Most of them Tellme. That they wish they'd saved more further retirement plan use case I'd just put that and that's just an ops yeah. What's the maximum dollar amount this year. That somebody in yet as a Social Security check. The top numbers this year that he can get is 3600. In 98 dollars per month that I've ever seen anybody close to the the closest I've seen a seen a couple around and yet 313200. But host the majority that I see. Between 4500. You know. Yes that's typically what it is but the Max you can get now is that 3698. Per month. And the amount that he get varies based on your earnings over your highest 35. Years of work if you work less than 35 years of work of more than ten. Social Security uses zeroes in his calculations of the incentive is take get those 35 years of work is otherwise not get credit for anything. So let's go back to that 3698. That assumes that you waded into your seventy ripped collector benefit yup and that you had 35 years of maximum earnings and maximum earnings this year ethnic or what about a 120000. In that ballpark they don't have the exact number and and Syriana and an annual basis it works out that 3690 it is about 44000. Year. A lot of money. The maximum if you retire and take it at age 65. Is about 25 almost when he 600 a year. In the max's age 62 was about 2158. Per month. So big change in terms of pay if you take it at 62 vs any seventy. And still most people are taking an early rate isn't like some like 70%. Retirees take their Social Security early despite our admonishment. Yeah most most people take it early you see an awful lot I think like 30% take it raid at 62. And then I'd I think you're right I think about 70% typically take it before they hit what's called their full retirement age which can vary between a 65 and 67. So thank you. Quick note on behalf of Armstrong advisory group twice seventeen saw record growth in the stock market and I hope that bodes well for all view. You know I was looking at some statistics as a relates to divorce rates in divorce rates for adults aged fifty and over. Has nearly doubled during the last 25 years trucked in and it's having. He eat you need to be careful it's called great divorce rate unity in and what you'll see as you guys get older. Win your kids graduate high school. You'll see a lot of couples in your neighborhood get divorced. Jail the state together to get the kids through school and then the minute the last kid graduates from high school they get a divorce myself house and in the town. On but if there's an impact here we need to talk about as a released a Social Security because divorcing. Late in life can really impact your Social Security benefits. Yet if if you've been married to someone for at least ten years and then you divorce them. You may be entitled to spousal benefits now okay which means that you can claim on your ex spouse's Social Security number so let's say. That they were getting 2500 dollars a month and Social Security benefit. You would be able to claim and get half of that benefit and say in addition you know he's that bad here she is going to collect their benefit but I'm also going to be able to get. 12150 dollars a month if my spouse we're getting 2500. Now if you remarry. You lose that ability. Okay and so it is something that does play into some of those decisions if you thought that you were going to be getting that benefit. And then all of a sudden when you remarry you're not. You sit there and say hey you know I I got to do I get a run some financial numbers as to whether or not I remarry later in life because I may lose that spousal benefit. And end up in a negative financial situation because of. We you can after years though you can get Social Security benefits on your based on your new spouse but what occurred to me was what if you mayor it would if you divorce somebody. And you're getting a thousand dollars a month half of their benefit yup. And then you merry you know somebody who's copper firefighter who doesn't have Social Security exactly. You get nothing. Yeah I. They be aware that if you are divorced and collecting spousal benefits for Social Security. And you choose to remarry. You're going to lose those benefits now you may make them up with your new spouse but you have to be aware of that because all of a sudden that income that you were counting on might not be there. And if you were married twice. So your Mary you know right at that apartment she was married three times before she turned 67. And she was god bless her. She she was allowed to collect her Social Security retirement benefits based on the highest murder of the 30 that's nice. Yet so she got to. If he she is a really about diversification is what you're telling me well ladies and gentlemen do you wanna do is very multiple time diversified. Do you wanna diversify your Social Security yeah. I was just shocked. Shocked do it she told me because I didn't know she'd been mirrored here. Hi this is chuck and Mike here from the financial exchange and as we head into 28 teen Micah wanna talk about one of the key themes 2017 is that and that was the disruption by technology companies. A lot of major industries. Yeah it's true you know we talk about the Amazon effect it's not the only one but it certainly was huge elephant in the room so if you take a look at. In their activity in 2017 alone you saw the large purchase a whole foods markets which was you know a very very big disruption to that overall grocery industry. Obviously Amazon and a lot of tech companies they've disrupted retail to this point but now we start hearing about other sectors that are potentially in the firing line so to speak next year healthcare travel all kinds of areas the potential higher risk yeah I mean you really do need to keep an eye on the Amazon effect we talked about retail obviously a Toys 'R' Us is in bankruptcy proceedings Sears JC Penney Macy's all really struggling to keep up and now you're right gathers rumors that were flying around ams on my interest in getting into the pharmaceutical delivered business which who knows how to make an impact that certain industries so that you gotta keep an eye on it you always got to be wondering about what is the Amazon affect what is the Google effect and how are they going to change the investment landscape for 2018 and beyond folks 2017. Obviously was a great year in the markets but you do need to be prepared for what's coming next and so Armstrong advisory group was put together this great guide titled when he eighteen the year ahead it is free to get in all you have to do. They say video pads ten pounds. But don't tell Barry in charge the financial exchanges alive every day on FaceBook and YouTube this is the financial exchange radio network. I am a call from Morningstar joins us now on the line for stock talk and actually were talking about an ETF here today Adam is that right. That's correct circle talk about vanguard high dividend yield ETS kicker do you lie and. So what it says high dividend yield how high is that yield actually today. If that the end point seventeen the yield was about 3% so that compares to about one point 9% for the SP 500. About 2.4 percent dividend yield for the Russell 1000 value to it's it's not. If I went out to fortify and dividend yield they're dipping no more than than that average on the market. Now looking at this fund here does it focus primarily is it buying now large caps or does it not done discriminate based on market cap. So what does fund does is it takes be it. Indicated dividend yield for all the stocks that pay dividends in the US and ranks them from highest to lowest and then it. Target the top half of dividend payers and wait its holdings by the market capitalizations so it will tilt towards. Bigger stocks because it does awakened by the market cap. But it does still have at least some mom made in small caps in there as well. Yet yet detonated it. Although Warner name so it owns all kinds of stocks but the largest holdings in the in his portfolio as of today is Mike or stop Johnson & Johnson JPMorgan they'll really does. Tilt towards. Household names of dividend payers. Now the typical thought with dividend payers is that that income can help to stabilize a portfolio but you might not see the overall. Speed of growth that you do with other companies is that the case in this ETF. Yes so that is sure that it is going to have a little more the value tilt because it is looking for. Stocks that are more stable. They open it be more profitable because it is waiting its holdings by the market cap so it's gonna till towards. Largest and most stable dividend payers. This that this. Fund also has a little bit of risk mitigation as bad if it's very broad diversified though it's like it has as he could draw down. As some. Funds that target giving you'll more explicitly. And you mentioned this is looking at all of the companies in the US so it's it's US base but. I'm guessing a lot of those bigger names duets an international exposure in there as well. Yeah I mean excited Specter you know what is the US companies so it is targeting. US based companies but obviously in my course Johnson & Johnson did Morgan will drive revenues other. Other parts the world that's just kind of a reality is. Investing today where it's hard to separate out stocks in different regions. Now Vanguard's typically about as good as it gets when it comes to expenses and fees is that situation here's while. Yes so this response he is eight basis point to years of you know point 08%. And there's actually also a mutual fund version. Of this EPS. Ph.D. way up to that fund charges a fifteen basis points he goes still very low and as a 3000 dollar. Invest a minimum while respond. Well this week yep only had the minimum of one sure quest it was very low as well. Or do Adam thank you very much of the time we appreciate it. I absolutely that's Adam McAuliffe for morning star and he's talking about the vanguard high dividend yield ETF. And the ticker that is V why am. Don't those types of funds typically stroll in an interest rate when interest rates are rising truck. It's it's not fair to say they struggle they may lag the overall market. On the upside but they do tend to be a little bit more stable on the downside there but. It's not a fund that you know you can see them get hit in in in a rising interest rate environment is is you're still owning equities and if interest rates are going up. Odds are equities are as well. See I think there's going to be a huge wave of merger and acquisition activity coming and as talking to fellow Saturday night and we're talking about. If if if that's in fact actor with all this money coming their repatriated money coming back into the market death. Where Tony is the if you were to look at small and mid cap. Funds. That would be interesting conversation because I think there's a lot of money we need. In the small midcap companies get acquired like the one you're talking about today doctor pepper how big was doctor pepper. They're being acquired by her do remember. I mean pull them up and take a look doctor pepper snapple they are 821 billion dollar company. So they're not I don't know every week you called them a small large cap on notice that their their large cap. Yeah yeah it's still good caddie typically if you call that you know that ends it somewhere in the seven to ten billion range. Tell you I I just think CEO ladies and gentlemen. A brace yourselves because I think that the next. I don't know few years your couples a lot of them and it just so much cash washing up on the ballot sheets eat. If you look at the amount of cash it's going back in the United States and then take a look at the amount of cash that's going to be created dues tax reform. And Mike one of the biggest things that investors need to keep in mind this year are the upcoming mid term elections that are going to be held in November and the effect that they can have on markets both over a short period of time. But also over longer time span. So yes certainly there's always uncertainty when you head into election years we've already seen some early elections that took place in Alabama New Jersey Virginia those have been giving us some sorts of indications of what we might see but it is largely unpredictable so we'll have to take a look and you know see how that impacts markets or how it hypothetically could impact markets leading into the end 2018 between ninety. One of the things that investors need to be cautioned about is is heating conventional wisdom that certain election results are going to be either battered good we saw that twice. In 2016 with both breaks it and the Donald Trump collection markets move the opposite way of what people expected. Right edgy you know if you're listening to Talking Heads on television every once said about Donald Trump went for a C a huge market correction what happened Dow futures traded down overnight and then we're up the next you know really the next twelve months out with wrecks that you saw quick dip over about a week period then and made all that money back up very quickly so it really depends on the situation. How would you feel about living in a condominium. While retired. Millions of people do it but this one's a little bit different actually floats and it's gonna travel the world we're talk about that story. And then we're gonna talk about that this week flu epidemic that is sweeping the United States is still spreading and it's getting even worse. And then finally got a story about crypto currencies another 530 million dollars crypto currency missing from a Japanese exchange. The dangerous game folks hi everybody it's burying truck what you hear on a Monday. In when I saw this story I think I've told this story maybe Saturday or Sunday. It immediately appealed to me. Because I don't like opening condos gently elect house that this is a Condo that is on a yacht sailing around the world talent. Yeah it's kind of cool idea if you've got cash for this is being put together by a New York start up called story lines. And they are selling 300 into cabins and a 584. Foot luxury cruise ship that would pretty much be a shipping goes paid all over the world yeah and so you're not stuck in one place. You get to go you know to different locations and so forth and you know the it's it's a pretty interesting idea you have to have I think the right mindset forward because the ship isn't going to go everywhere that you want it to go. But it's something where you hold the this space on this ship. And it's it's a fascinating idea for someone who BO has money and says they wanna travel the world not have a place back home that I need to take care of this your home could travel the world what. The good and it's not your typical state room happened either you know it's a no nice yet it's a large amount of space 90002000. Square feet depending on how much money you want and spend mean. The pricing is pretty you talking about anywhere from. Looks like about two million to fifteen dollars in date on Ethiopia. Yeah and then your fees are going to be anywhere from five to 101000 dollars a month however your duties include food. Alcohol housekeeping and other amenities like cruise ships that great amenities and a couple. I just I saw this I said they are going to be. People that take advantage of or what you might see chuck is. You could see that are two or three couples go union on Condo together rates of the city by two million dollar condos and yet for couples that go in on it. They ship it half a million dollars each and it's 2000 bucks a month each. But then we each get to use the Condo. Three months a year brightly as the week ended January through the end of march and you get it marks the the end of you know you get an April through the end agency you'd see people sharing or they might buy in the rented out to European. Yeah it's it's it's something that's interesting here what's interesting also is that the the vessels gonna be registered in the Bahamas so there may be some tax benefits as well people who make this their primary residence the ship is expected. To actually set sale in September of nineteen so about. A year and a half from now. And they're going to re renovation on right now but it's pretty much about eighteen months away so against aids. I view this as they high into retirement in a destination. For baby boomers pass presidency something like this before to be honest. It appeals to me I guess it's idea they I tucked my wife about it earlier re in and we would never wanna live on twelve months a year. But the idea of jumping on hold there you know the scan via location it's gonna be in the Mediterranean in April let's go you know for three weeks on this training. Very appealing that I think the hard part would be. Not having roots anywhere you know if you're living on twelve months a year ashy here your I guess the world is your commute. Or quality and in the other question that I have is just from a perspective they think about some of the the basic things that you need to do as as you get older like but city of medical problems or you know it. OK so is you know is there helicopter onboard that gets here we're ready to go Fini like how easy is it to get on and off you know make things like that I do have some questions about what. They know what they're doing at least they should know what they're doing but it's it's a fascinating idea tell you that. Well. It's change gears and talk about the flu gave for the first time in thirteen years that's how long CDC's been tracking. The flu. Yet that it's you know you you talk about what we're seeing with the flu right now it's the first time that the flu strain has been. Caught in 49 different states throughout the US and the last time that we saw this again was back in 2005. In pretty much. This is the worst flu season since the 2009 Swine Flu and I'll tell you something the 2009 Swine Flu I actually got that. And I was you know young kid at that point I was in my twenties. And adapting knocked me out for about a week and a half I lost fifteen pounds. You know we it was not a good situation for me but you know that that Swine Flu back in 09 it was eve it would be pretty good and most doctors are saying look this is the worst when the we have seen since then it seems like. It's just a different strain now and it's like getting stronger each year I feel like some point maybe it's beating the solution I don't know what's going on this night but that doesn't flew Mitt I don't know maybe this lose and Smart fair I don't know. I mean the flu every raised in the flu shots in the stowed in the flow. Well you know what's going on there. Death it's a good morning and they try with the flu shot they try to say okay what are the strange that we need to protect against this year and some years they get it right other years like this when they they get they get it wrong. But there are signs according to what the CDC's flu chief man named Dan Jernigan. He is saying that there are signs that the flu season has started to peace in in parts of the country right now. But the thing you have to be aware of this is not a food that is just targeting. Older people or B know what children this is something there have been 97 people in California. Who were under the age of 65 that have died so I'll. It's not just going after people you know who were ten years older people or eighty years old this is a strong flu virus this year and again washing hands. Stay again get your sleep keep your immune system up that that's the best advice anyone can give you at this point. But the problem truck is used are contagious with the Lou. Before you and show symptoms right so. You you may not. You you could be worked at it you may not get the flu tilt to morrow chuck you could be giving it to Tucker your within six feet by hope lion misery loves company that. Are you to do is to within six feet so Tucker's over here know him over here now stammering air. I think it's. Easy if it's it's it's that in the you know that the shots have not been effective. You know and that of course the fact that the shots are not effective has led people to CC should get a flu shot well. If you don't get the flu shot. It's it makes it even worse like your chances of dying from this flu are worse for those of you talker who didn't get a close. And CI a seem to BO connect so far. So far the only change or talked Tucker's doesn't leave the studio he just lives in this little Bobble. And now that's his defense. But people come within six feet now but if people are getting the flu shot. And they're starting the flu and what's the point me going to pollution because you don't get it is bad Tucker yeah. The that is the as a doctor's medical professionals there's things. You know the people were dying are the ones that didn't get any flu shot all the people who got the flu shot. Are getting but not a severely and then you can hit your medicine as soon as you get the flu get on your habits right away you're gonna get over there too early. So of this you know continue to use health being at some of robbers and just avocados avocados newbie AO can only good. Another crypto currency exchange. Theft Vegas is caller. Yet this and in this is I think probably the if it's a big store but I don't think it's the biggest one in the crypto world today. I think we are getting pretty close to an end game on a couple of these things there are all kinds of rumors and things that are you are not looking. Very good for a lot of these exchanges based on how they're set up and so forth. But this Japanese exchange a company called queen Jack. Has 530 million dollars in missing crypto currency it's a currency called and EM. Who knows what that stands were probably not here anymore or something like that. And you know you you look at it and yet the security of these exchanges is one thing to be concerned about. But there are signs that at a at a couple of dumb if if you want something a little spooky when it comes to crypto via Google Heather TE TH ER. It is a crypto currency that effectively. Has been created to try to stand in as a one to one replacement for the dollar. Brian meet him from Verizon's VP at Verizon and technology expert joins us now on the line here to talk about Verizon and what they are going the Super Bowl. And Bryant they can come and on us. Brad and I appreciate it runs or were you over are you in a Minneapolis right now for that for the big game. At six degrees and I are here and we're ready. What what kind of stuff have you done over there to you know give fans a better experience at the Super Bowl. They're great questions so a couple of things the first visibly tired cheers out we've built the most advanced beating him in the United States and we've got to. City with 500%. More capacity ready. Per million people who show up or the next ten days that it can help predict the million people in ten days. How hard is it to build a network. For that size and that scale because I remember when when stadiums for started getting Wi-Fi you log on in in half the time it wouldn't work can you sit there and said OK there's 60000 other people trying to get on at the same time how hard is it. To build a network that can handle that kind of volume. Well it each start to turn appeared out it's not that hard but you just have to be really focused spill. You know you've got a keen aired locally that you guys are spinning opted to verbal. They're people that prepare in advance they are extremely disciplined and they work really hard I'd describe nineteenth. So we have built. 230. Small though downtown Minneapolis. Retrench fiber you can't get the winner there's a moratorium. And so we had to trench buyer Robert street right in chili bowl. In order to identify and build these small boat that these small give us the ability to provide LTE advanced services. Looking at what you are expecting from a data usage perspective you go back five years ago young people would send text messages may be a photo. But everyone's in the mobile video today how much more restraint is that. From a data perspective. Yes it is the only fair word he uses the crushing in the nineties until we go back for example. Beanie bowl 49. Our subscribers use or terabyte of data that's just right then when you went out there just go. It's seven terabytes of data and then last year haven't put care back in perspective here. Eleven terabytes of data used. If a single person being watched HD video for 265. Days. They would just get to load heir but think about what that means so let me say about the US banks being as well. In that stadium with the 550. Miles of fiber. At the port 1200. Antennas. We're told are on hold on what let let me back up that there are 550. Miles of fiber just in that stadium. Okay I'm glad we clarify it in and so that's all you had never. Well it's if it's kind of mind blown to be honestly to some would have to walk in late all of those miles. It. So looking at this hat how much of this was possible ten years ago how much is the technology changed to make this possible. Well I think you're the only didn't have orgy we didn't have LTE advanced certain that the way we do today. And let me play at that stage in Illinois State. The most technical endorse stadium ever in the United States is structured like 12100. And and it supported by that. Every talked about earlier we have Verizon exclusive antennas on hand rail under the seat. There are drink railroad and it weave torn apart because the first responders we support them we know that they need to give you their devices. Most importantly so if you're down on that speed and four we built. Something with the antenna technology called them and all their identity and and I picked up on top and is gonna provide coverage to. The first responders to the stadium support that and the team has walked in like they need to use their devices are used orgy. Of these services. Brian that the technology that you deploy here is this almost like a trial run for you know being able to deploy this out into other real world situations down the line. You know can you repeat that I didn't hear that last are the first part of. I'm sorry what we're saying is that the technologies that you deploy for an event like this. Or are these technologies that you'll then eventually deploy elsewhere down the line and say okay we can roll these out to different places. Yeah I think pictured are front questions so. Nationwide. We build small boat that we trench fighter and then you put that small boat up on street light utility pole. We have LTE enhanced services number cheap thousands cities are ready nationwide. Yeah absolutely we're doing it everywhere in the United States issues that are here. We had to build additional because. Like that it can be a million people attended a community that airport not right in the glow of the Mall of America and hold how they're gonna go to the stadium middle. Nickel at mall downtown Minneapolis where Super Bowl why it is. We have a tremendous amount of intended down there to get over 230 small boat just the downtown area. Brian last question for I don't know if you're able to answer force or not are you porn for anyone in this game. Well I gotta be honest I really like the New England patriot they were liable for her well. They know that they're going to we need to be. You know strong performers and that's the way I coach my team so actually I am opening pages beside who wouldn't want three and organ to repeat history. This is true Bryant thanks for the time we appreciate it. That is Bryan beat Toomey is a Verizon vice president and technology expert talking about preparation that go into it making the simple actually war. What's the betting line. They forced him out a lot of money on wheels it's four and a half foreigner I saw a six it's a so down to four and a half. All money's been flowing in Tucker. People are betting money on the divinity and money on Connor McGregor to gather betting stupid idea it's it's not Smart. We'll see you Monday. No I don't know if super yeah. Speaking of that technology. That trump administration. Is thinking about national missing five GG. The five G mobile network it has to do national security. Yeah this this is interesting what they're talking about here this is. National security officials in the trump administration. Who were saying hey it in addition to what companies are putting together privately. Do we want to create a nationalized five G network it's run by the United States government. In order to. Make sure that we are protected. Against any potential threats on those networks because a lot of the components are made overseas. You know it's it it's an interesting idea to consider I think a lot of Americans probably would be hesitant to go down that road just as they don't like the idea of you know government control of telecommunications technology. So it's it's so mixed. Late in the Arctic is the logic is. The Chinese control five G technology and they'll be listening in our Falwell's and reading our emails. And we'll know they they say that they that's what they're worried about it there you know. We've seen you know the intelligence community be wrong about things before I mean we can go back to Saddam Hussein. And and weapons of mass destruction so I think it's something that should be explored. The but hey maybe lets you know. Go one step in front of the other instead of you know going all the way to hey we need a national five G network. You know like I just think that might be a big step right now. Today we need five G that much like Cantonese as to who runs that's a question for another day coming up we're talk about 41 K plans. Are you attempted to splurge because it's become a very large asset we'll talk about that and more when we return. For more information and everybody it's Barry Armstrong and I'm joined by estate planning attorney Todd what's from law firm Cushing and dole and we're talking about last minute planning techniques that can help seed your assets from the high cost of a nursing home. And Todd here's a question I have Korea. What can be done last minute. To exceed your assets if your spouse suddenly has a stroke and is. Permanently confined to a nursing. Yeah and it's primarily about your home. You know that's the big asset that you ones sure no way. Well that bid if you've got money in CDs or brokerage account her diaries I mean I'm concerned about all we that's a good point that you could Lou 'cause it's all at risk I think that's a point here higher raise that risk is CDs or risk brought together terrorists everything in so many people don't think that's the case but it is. So I can tell you first and foremost it's easy for the house as long as the spouses living as they won't take it. But the house and her name doesn't have the matter is while you east right please don't stop there because if you get sick in the house is at risk but at least two dodged a bullet. The bigger issue you're right there is all those dollars rather ironies are non. And really at that time you're probably looking at one of these last minute Medicaid in new technique is even for a diary you can even for an IRA human have to pay some income taxes to get to where you want to be. But you know ominously 141000 dollars a month and pay the tax so these these last minute annuity techniques. To put all the money into an annuity and how to pay out an income stream. To the healthy spouse. Will get you there aren't like that not the best way to go you're better off doing advanced planning but there are last minute planning techniques can take advantage or. Breaking business news is always first break here on the financial exchange radio network. I. You know we've speculated that there's going to be a lot of merger. And acquisition activity. Going port I just think it makes cents or so much money coming back into the United States know companies bringing more cash back. Then apple Apple's sitting gas Turco correctly but I think it's like 25260. Billion dollars in cash. Much of it had no way over in Ireland it's being repatriated. To the United States I'm wondering shock and and there's substantial speculation on this topic over the weekend. Apple might use some of this money to buy tests. So I thought about the site I went back and forth this morning in my first reaction was oh interest in my second was no way mustard was now maybe it's more interest staying. I give you a counteroffer. What if apple goes and buys GM. And because the market cap on GM and Tesla are about the same. With Tesla though you're buying a company that is hemorrhaging cash doesn't have. You know any profits they they need huge cash infusions down the road and there's a whole bunch of things they need to clean up as a business despite the fact that they have great products. With the GM. You sit there and say we've gotten established business they know how to build cars they don't have production bottlenecks. And it gives us a much wider distribution network into a whole bunch of different price points. Isaac you know if apple wants to get into cars they can get into GM for the same price as Tesla and have a better platform to distribute under. Be sure would have a better platform. You know tussle I don't know how many cars GM sells that there you know one or two in the world maybe three in the world in terms of car sold. GM sold three million in the United States last year and worldwide. They sold. I operate. And attempted to to a yet in that ballpark about seven million. And the day you erase good point I mean if the big problems that tussle seems to have a supply to be a great product great. But they can't make the dark cars and at GM. As a pretty good support when it EU EU I think is Tim Cook is known that that's Tim Cook extra strength supply. But also Jim moss already has all of the distribution in place they're not you know they're not trying to build something into spending cash for the sake of spending it GM. Has a in ecosystem in place where they say look we've we've got everything figured out and if Bob apple. Apple's never built cars before right so you don't wanna go win and say okay. We're not the ones who can fix this problem but we're gonna buy you anyways. With apple in a company like GM or even if apple to for like if up looked at any one of these major manufacturers say hey Fords you know 20% cheaper than GM one we looked there. If they looked at one of these companies they say you guys build the cars. Will handle everything l.'s great and and that's where I think there's something that fits in there with Tesla I look at in test those problems. Are. They they don't know how to build cars well enough yet. I don't know if apple can help them there that's the problem is yet to coach great with supply chain but he's never built cars he's built phones and PC. Now apple stocks that down. But they don't want people saying eight to have you checked out the ten. I haven't no IE IE. I didn't over the weekend it's a nice darn well I may never buy the newest phone from apple again. I'd just done I I don't see the need to I'm still running an iPhone six. Now feel restricted in my life he notes that like all their advertisers like all you can take great portraits and all you can use it. They. Like by what I reporting for portrait taken up pace would it take you formulate who cares lake. The big advantage of the. Ten chart is for guys that are used in the hospital like me amused in the seven plus. Ten screen on the tenth is just as being as it is on the set and plus yup but the full fits in your pocket along Maurice. Yeah it's it's a smaller. Overall. Instrument so that's why I think approach that tendon Wiegert yup I just I can't spend thousand dollars on phone. So it's crazy minutes it's it's the way things are brought you know as for Owen K plants are skyrocketing. People are tempted to splurge today like you hear this as an advisor and and and you're getting calls from clients then ninety. In 97 million tune my count and a 1000008. A target take a 100000 dollars owed it to the kids. Yen in you're seeing an awful lot of those requests coming through just because people say hey you know my cal looks good it's time for me to finally spend on that vacation that I wanted her hey maybe I can do that improvement on the house that I couldn't before. And so. Would what I find interesting here is that people historically make these decisions at the worst possible time. And so look at denies say yeah everything looks good the market right now but if if the masses are saying. That everything looks good. What's around the corner that we don't know. And and part of me we got a little bit of a sign this morning when the the personal income report came out Leo that also includes the savings rate. In the savings rate ticked down against 2.4 percent is the lowest number we've had for saving since 2005. So. I'm not saying that the and is tomorrow where the end is next week or even next month or maybe even not next year. But you look at 2005 and he said okay there were about two years left in the party there. You know it and then all of a sudden at the end of 07 everything started fall apart now sees it and say. Yet there could be 23 years left in the party and from a business cycle perspective that kind of makes sense to so. You know I'd I just I always cautioned people say when everything looks like it's great. Anywhere I did talk to somebody who took a 100000 dollars out of their count though. And the use it to payoff a 6% mortgage dips and you know that that it sets up stuff like that I think makes sense of you've got you know debt that you need to pay off and so forth but. What when I see. Everywhere out there sent off got more money I can go spend it that's and I say. If they give it just yeah it's not that something bad is happening now but it just makes you nervous because historically. That's been when we've kind of been on that precipice. Quick word on behalf of leader bank I know that there are new deals every week from them. And so winter break has won three this week they're always thinking of new ways to diversify. You know over lift our transformative companies. But they've put strains on the finances of airports why. Well you know in the old days you'd flying into an airport like TF green and you'd rent a car in you'd going your way while the airport we get chunk of that car rental fees that affect the daily fee based and Euro rental vehicle. So what TF green did was they started to impose a six dollar fee. On short term parking and increase their revenue last year truck by 45%. Passengers though and Hooper lived aren't too happy. Yeah and in this you know I am sure they're not happy about it but it makes sense because you know we always think of airports and say OK you know they make their revenue from gates fees and so forth. You know you take a look in central parking at Logan and you got thousands of cars they're charging you 35 bucks today that if people don't go in use those facilities. Any reports got to find a way to offset that so you know historically it's been okay if if you're making that money on that the transportation side coming in. OK let's find a way to offset that and I do think that these out fees year. Do make sense you know obviously you know everyone says you know this is unfriendly and I can't believe that they're doing this. Well you think the airport just wants to operate just for the sake of operating. Yeah and I I can tell you eat the cost of the limo or car to the airport. Has come down in the last twenty years it's less expensive today John oh yeah then it was when I was thirty years old laced a fly all the time back in the admin in my thirties. And it's cheaper today to get a card at the airport that it was twenty years ago yet point five years. If you are coming in from mere 25 miles outside the city and you need to take a limo probably a 10020 bucks back then. And today if you need to make the same trip via Hoover lift or something like that you bro do for forty to fifty. Right now it's it's dirt cheap what do you think about Vincent man and him trying to start a new football the ex FL. My my big curiosity. Is where are they going to get the players from. Because but here here's the theory that I have on a bearish and the players that you're going to get for the ex FL. Are the ones that work cut by the Cleveland Browns yeah so. How good the quality football gonna be I think you know it it might be a novelty at first but if they can get good players now I don't think people will watch for the long run I think. I think people be curious just is that I think people say Leo let's see what this league's all about. But if the quality isn't good and I think they are going to be short lived again. I'm I'm thinking it's going to be successful just because Vince McMahon it's involved the Israeli once. What's that he failed once. In what sense. Well the one year except all the lost a 150 million dollars. Point oh but he's a bright guy and he's he's had time to think about it now and he's coming in with this new league guy idea. Or else I I don't bet against vick's Vince McMahon would be my message you know if the it probably put it this way he went. And said hey if you wanna buy shares in the Boston team I would buy shares and because I I have a lot of respect for this guy or he's come from. He still a lot of businesses down a Cape Cod in and that's where he got the money do five wrestling federation. Yes I just I I know that. At the end of the day the quality of the play is going to be what keeps people there. People are gonna pay to watch triple A football now. Well we'll see we'll see that coming up we're gonna have a review of the Tesla model three Tim Stephens from CNET will join us. Tells what he thinks about the Tesla model's battery. I don't worry about the transmission shipped him and I doubted if Japan goes into a par which is great and we really nice sharp to which. It did again a really engaging fueled drive and is a lot of room and ensure a lot of head room on the next reconfigure butcher your Qatar trunk so overall it could be a pretty practical car. What's your take on the interior I know the tests obviously went with the very. Somewhat Spartan look almost inside what's your take on however thing works and there. It it definitely looks great I mean the person get in the car and looks really remarkable looks like a kind of Scandinavian lounge almost was just hardly anything in the entertainment gauge cluster and it takes a little bit of getting used to for example the governor now has mounted on the central the fifteen inch there's been in the middle of the cart is no gage got to be on the eastern well. They tool that companies looking over at that so looking down. But that didn't really bother me so much bothered me was that has actually got rid of a lot of the fiscal control you come to expect on a mark on. Things like wind chill what are controlled for example when I just went to work yet to reach over touched the touch screen and that is where it started to. A little bit of patent. So it almost in with those touch screens if if you miss the spot on the screening panel can doubt it almost seems like you could distract you in that situation. Absolutely did it's definitely the kind of thing that you cannot develop muscle memory you know we get in a car about thirty seconds later you can pretty much do all the main things we need to do just. Without even having to look down turning on the lights turning on the white respect I think and a model three when you're reaching over to do the touch screen it's not really possible to do that you have to keep your eyes of the week you'll. And yeah if this were so credit card at all or were bulletproof and every situation maybe they'll be okay. Or not there yet all is that good he's going to drop the road and that the quickest people. Re able to do any range testing with the vehicle while you had a. We did do some racist but of course overdrive the car pretty aggressively as we are filming so we were able to really put it in this sort of situation a normal person would expect this week. We are seeing range of about half what it was estimated that we are driving it really really are. I have spent quite a bit come of it as those in the past and they all kind of the order even more rain and then a promise so ultimately I think the 310 or 220 mile range options depending on which model rebuilt for. I think it'll be generous most people to drive at a party can definitely do a lot what's that. What are the questions that people have when it comes to the models released these initial iterations. Is the quality of the overall fit and finish of the product did you see any problems from that perspective in your limited time with that. There were. Really any glaring issues that bothered me dutifully if you panels that work quite as lineup that I don't expect given the cost the car and the car that we tested without options as he's 7000 Dawson this is you know that we premium car. A nuggets were quite perfect couples Beijing imperfections on the interior under the rug quote it was great to were no clocks squeaks and noise or anything like that. Inevitably jump out at me you'd you'd be any any cause for concern when it came to the door or the cost. Let's talk from a price perspective I know tassel markets this is saying hey this is our electric vehicle for 35000. When when you look at what most people typically are going to buy this you know car out in terms of the options and so forth. Most of them are gonna be at that 35000 dollar price range correct. You're probably gonna spend quite a bit more effective if you are looking at to be able to buy car now you pre order really early and that means you have to spend a minimum of about 49000 dollar 35000 dog beat you debates model re with 220 mountain range right now that has only produced in the long range version which is you 310. My out for 44000 dollars. And then you need and on the premium package if you want the car now and that gives another 5000 dollar which I think what you want as you know basic net that you like he'd beat which in the northeast you know we did indeed. I'm so right now minimum price of 49000 dollars but yet on wheels relive underdogs. Any color other than black cops thousands are some of the options because that we test was option that the X apps are. So it looks to me like this kind of like the BMW three series yet starts at 35 but you're spending high forties to low fifties when year old said and done typically. Absolutely there are it you don't quite have the same the regularity of options that you do in India W things are bumblebee get a little bit more closely with the mile through but definitely you'll be looking to spend probably a lot more than per department are well equipped model. Very good Tim thanks for the time we'll catch up soon. What I trust him Stevens from CNET roadshow talk about the Tesla model the you know chuck fake one of the problems that is that Nissan leaf looks like a pretty good car and Chevy's on the check out whether apple can only here. I think that niece the new Nissan leaf when it comes out in nineteen and it gets tussle wrote run for the money. I think the that the bolts seems to be a real competitor. In this space right now should be sold 24000. Of those last year ago I wouldn't be surprised they get close thirty or 35000 this year. But the leafs cheaper chuck you're you're going to be of the by 30250. Mile leaf for probably thirty grant yeah so it is it it's going to be a dog for. It's been only a very interesting race to see who wins that electric car market in you brought up a great idea. Apple buying General Motors who knows. Hey thanks for tuning into the financial exchange today it's very chuck good talker signing off until well tomorrow morning CNN.
