Stocks around the world fell on Monday putting the Dow Jones Industrial Average on track. For its longest losing streak since 2011. As doubts about that trump administration's ability to push through on campaign promises of related. True global markets that's from today's Wall Street Journal hi everybody Barry Armstrong and trucks ought to with you here. I'm kind of a gloomy Monday and it looks like the stock markets that the blues action should say the reds. Yeah markets not really young enthusiastic today and this is this is a classic risk off type day you see the sectors that are down the most today. Materials down one point 3% financials down point 92 what's in positive territory consumer staples and health care utilities pretty much flat. Ten year treasury has gone from 2.4 percent down 2.3 five a golden. Gold is up to 1259. And gold beneficiary of that. Yeah gold Goldman moving up the last. Last three weeks or so we've gone from what that made 1140s range now up to around 1260s so for about a 10% bump. Off the bottom there in the last month or Sonya you take a look on you know really know what month but I guess since the post election 31139. At the meal middle of December and we sit here three months later now you know. Of about 10% from. Well many of us questioned the wisdom of Republicans tackling Health Care Reform right out of the gate. And I know that during the campaign the political campaign that was a big issue today and and one of the major promises would be. We're gonna repeal obamacare. We've got a secret plan we've got a plan we've got something it's better that is in our. Docket that we're gonna roll out to the American people turns out the Republicans didn't have a bigger better plan and what they rolled that couldn't even get through their own congress. None it they they had a plan and I think tried to appease a lot of different members of that Republican Party in the house. But unfortunately they they just couldn't get enough pieces together. To actually pushed through the kind of legislation that they actually want to and so you can blame the freedom caucus is is this if the conservative branch of the really conservative branch. Of the Republican Party are they behind it's it's it depends what you mean by blame the other reason that it didn't have enough votes we know that but they were also voted in into their districts and up into their seats with a mandate to. Pull back obamacare completely so I don't fault them for actually trying to follow through on campaign promises I do think. That as much as a lot of people might not of late this health care bill. It was probably the best deal they were going to get they're not going to get something that's a full repeal because that's dead on arrival in the senate. What day do you think they'll carry around photos here cantor. Is that he knew you'd think about. I try to imagine why you voted Easter party rate in in this is the best view you're gonna get right he know going up and but then it comes back to all remember Eric Cantor getting primary use high ranking Republican number two Republican. You know and he got right well in and I think a lot of these guys especially in the south. Our. Very much aware of that and they're more concerned about maintain their own jobs and they are about the deal is the other question do you think Paul Ryan's carrier and pitcher John Boehner. You don't do it ourselves right and what might do it why am I here politically I'm Paul Ryan I hope I I would stated that president. Look I I'm not your guy you know he's in an untenable situation because to. I think they're gonna have one dickens' time trying to work with tax reform. They were counting on track. The via the reason they will be wanted to do the health care bill first today we questioned the logic as to whether they should have been tax reform first. The the logic is there gonna say the trillion dollars on tax on health care rate there ticket trillion dollars on health care and give it to us all in the form of tax cut. Well no they didn't save trillion dollars and now if people want to tax reform and the only way they're gonna do tax reform is if they run up the deaths. Yes so he here's how tax reform works with the health care bill not having happened the first thing is that look if you are trying to do this and just do an actual tax cut. As you mentioned you're gonna be running up the deficit then which once again we circle back to the freedom caucus lot of those people. Were put into their seats with a mandate to reduce or eliminate the deficit so. From that perspective just from a political and you vote getting perspective. You'll that you say look I don't know we have the votes to be able to do it our elected he would Democrats for the second piece that you have then. Is Brooke Carlos you also don't have that offset coming from health care in any type of tax reform that you do. Past sunset after ten years because that's the revenue neutral after that ten year period is up so it's much like the bush tax cuts back in the early two thousands. They had to sunset those after ten years. And that's the kind of tax reform that you'd be moving in here it's not something. That becomes a permanent part of the tax code needs something that if you put it in today. It goes through 20/20 six and that's it but my question do you lose with the freedom caucus even vote for the and I don't think it would I don't think so. I don't think 4045. Guys. And that are in the freedom caucus. And become prime from primarily southern and southwestern states and I don't think they're gonna vote and here's the other thing about the freedom caucus you mentioned they come primarily from southern and southwestern states one of the things that's been talked about. To try to get any type of tax reform through was this border adjustment to not having those states aren't the exact ones that are gonna get whacked by the border just attacks the most so. If public for if I'm mark meadows I'm sit there and I'm saying. I woke up a pretty good spot today march 27 good date for mark meadows you know it's at the freedom caucus has an awful lot of power in a tele I mean. They that was a very bold power moves that they made last week and beard there in the catbird seat that's what do you think that the president says geez I better go talk to Chuck Schumer missy by can't make you do with a Democrat Chuck Schumer 2000 pound sand you do yeah it's a nothing's happening. And obviously it well Ed in the stock market if you try to figure out what stocks are selling off which they are in right now we've got the Dow down 139 point anti that it would be works that's all that's not bad bad. Here's what's interesting is we were talking last week and we had you know multiple poll questions do you think helped get it done today and and I continue to come back to it we saw last week exactly why it's so hard to get things done in congress. Until it's done. I generally just don't believe things are going to happen congress is set up. For all of the crap that we give congress about being incredibly slow and inefficient which it is now will the corruption Al is a separate issue but. For all of the crap that we give congress about being so slow that's kind of how the constitution was drawn up was to make things move slowly. And that's why when when you have a rash decision exited the constitution was drawn up by some pretty conservative people they were trying. To have things move quickly necessarily they want to the process they want it checks and balances. And so. What you're looking at here at this point is that congress that frankly is more divided I think that a lot of people thought it was three months ago. Tucker Silva. Whole question of the day and militarily but we should get an out there and let people participate in airport question of the day which you can find on our website financial change showed dot com is will president trump. The evil to get his tax plan through congress priests from simple question there who say yes or no cash or vote. At financial exchange showed dot com that the another agenda item for the president is NAFTA. Yeah and he's gonna have one heck of a time pushing through anything and as well. Yeah and in the reason why you're starting to see you lobbying efforts coming from a lot of farmers in the US who want NAFTA to remain in place the reason being that they export a lot of there. Produce in a lot of cases we talked about pig farmers last week. Being a major exporter to Mexico you know and so. You know this this is. Again this is where the rubber meets the road that we said once the election happen at the biggest question facing the trump team. Was executioners can they actually be able to execute on their agenda. This is where you start to have to play a lot of the political games that a lot of people hate. But that you have to play in order to get things done because you can't simply. As a president go and say you have to do this because you're not that that congress persons. Awesome tonight he's got to do to win so that's right he's got to go back to South Carolina he's got to go back to Arizona. She has to go back to North Dakota it has to be a combination of carrot and stick now you can't just go with a stick it has to be below and they don't seem to be able to negotiate a mean health care bill what you wanna acknowledge this or not this is a major failure on the part of the trumpet ministry. You do it justice and they're down eight the market. And amazingly resilient I mean yes and easily down fourteen points I think the stock market is telling me my interpretation of this is that. The stock market still believes that the president will get something done on tax reform. And and I think that I tend to agree with that I don't think that the what they're gonna be able to get through is necessarily as big and comprehensive as they want. It might be a situation where hey they only tackled the business side or maybe they only tackle the personal side they might not be able to do comprehensive. Overarching legislation but. What you if you can just clean up a few problems with the tax code that's still something. That's moving forward at least we'll get another opinion in the next segment will be joined by Adam Shapiro from the Fox Business Network he'll chime in with his thoughts. On the trump administration's plan to get through tax reform that's next. From our insurer match dot com studios. Well how is the president and get tax reform done when he didn't get a health care bill. Adam Shapiro from the Fox Business Network he has the answer I atom are a lot. I've I had the answer that question I'd be very well be mad. But I'm good you do very right to protect. Good B we are curious to hear your opinion though because. I gotta tell you pay me if I'm looking at the agenda. And a same boy you know and I always thought he should've started off with tax reform first because I knew health care was going to be just done a mine field. Now he's going to tax reform he's got no money saved from health care bill how does he do it. Well he's gonna have to reach I mean he's solid right bravest on FOX News Sunday. Reaching across the aisle and saying. That they've been able talked to Democrat and you know the the way to look at it is it is. BP ordered just attacked that's the big issue right now that thing that's a Paul Ryan supported idea it's also Steve Bennett idea. So. Mr. Ryan mr. ban and I'm not sure they're getting along so well right now I'm not sure Paul Ryan could deliver that that may be dead on arrival. As we speak but there's still things you can do we business tax reform corporate tax reform. But help big businesses most small business. And clearly the administration president mr. Bannon mr. previous. Want to help small business as well as big business and Democrats would be. Their own. You know. Would be foolish not to if the president offers hand to join in the discussion. Do you think he throws it is there are the potential to get an immigration deal busy couple. Immigration was tax reform because you alluded to that stated the union. I eluded to it but they you know it. It depends and you reach out to you know Chuck Schumer in order to Nancy Pelosi I don't think any of the people involved wanna be in the same room with the other parties. They're gonna have to especially since you got that beat them caucus. In the house. Very conservative Republicans. The can essentially you know put Lola to the cup administration's. Political agenda and if you can get enough Democrats. To cross over and and you can forge some kind of you lose and you can circumvent the freedom. But the Democrats could get one heck of a deal though couldn't. Expensive piece about immigration reform I think more of the structure the president trump. Is about jobs yet the end of the day president trump is main focus is creating jobs so the Democrats claim to be the party of job creation well. But which are about money we about. If they can strike some kind of deal on the destruction. You know Democrats and Republicans. You know more mainstream Republicans you don't need defeat pockets. So. It might be on an immigration offer you know the Republicans don't gain anything usually. We immigration. It is people. Kind of when you have a habit he eat you follow that have been big gain much more jobs and in this. And let's talk a little bit about how this plays out in markets we obviously saw. The worst day of the year last week as this was building and kind of building to a crescendo today down again but. It doesn't seem like it's a widespread panic more just. Market saying OK I guess we need to reset a little bit but it did doesn't seem to be blood in the streets sounds. Panic in that wonderful word I thought about that at at at at that there's no panic where it's going right now a quick there's not debating which. Segment of stared at the next. So right now the Dow is there. Does not. Now. It's empty spot but at the top active. It is. Health care. And it among health care stocks also. You know the day holding there all the insurance stocks not so much the day. Now. So but others talk. It's taken its today. Infrastructures to write about infrastructure. United States feel now about 6%. Nuke or energy corporation. Almost 8%. USG. 2%. Though. What what congress is looking. Whether this is rather perhaps you and we're not talking about this. Is that. That's cabinet. And the market actually a little nervous about the we've had a failure it is repeal obamacare. The markets nervous. Not about tax reform and infrastructure. There's so what's gonna happen as the question. Ike's nights that's not good you are a. You can really bad music Star Wars. That the that a that's it that's the rain cloud over at the don't talking about I mean why ruin a perfectly good Monday with that kind of discussion but that's really the thing that eating habits that. Minutia and on your network said hey we're getting tax reform done by August he did say that. The Z overly optimistic. It probably smoking simply by legally in California and Massachusetts. Yeah exactly. At the edible there anyway I mean he's he's that we look at about if they're gonna push very or bad never guarantee. That we get by August. You know if there's still a administration. Gained. And the Republicans have got to get that line we've with the president. I mean it did it did the Republicans wanted you know destroy themselves I mean why would you take a punch to the space self inflicted. But that's exactly what happened. And let's talk a little bit about trying to get Republicans in line to get something done there has been obviously a lot of chatter about whether Paul Ryan is the right man for the job. At a certain point. He spends all his political capital simply can't get the job done how close do you think we are to. That the I I don't answer that I know that he never wanted the job to begin yet it's not his thing room. It's not his thing. And I don't know if he can deliver I mean he just did this speaker just failed. He failed. Corral the votes to deliver it a lot of what the proposed. The old but president trump says he still supports all and but that we saw on fox. Geneen Piero who is a friend of personal friend of president. She came out on her show over the weekend that he's got to go Paul Ryan did the president had treated before that show aired watch Geneen care break apple. In the judge said judge Perez said Paul Ryan got to go about whether Paul Ryan intends to go it another issue. You know one strike so far it was a pretty problem. So if he goes who takes his place. That's the great question. A lot of names floating around that. But you've got you know it what it's revealed is that you don't have a unified Republican Party going into what was supposed to be Hillary Clinton's coronation. Last November people were talking in Washington about the demise of the Republican Party. Well surprise surprise everyone was wrong the coronation did not occur president trump was elected by the American public and yet he issues. That word you know tearing apart the Republican Party have not gone away. Right right no rights. You know we will see we will see Adam thank you very much for your time we appreciate it ultimately. You know clear answers. No I mean I think that it's he. The Republicans kind of have to you know sit down over the next week or so and say OK what are Leo what are the priorities now because if if you go through. The first full year without getting something big done. It's always tough to do in that second and you've got election yet mid terms coming up next year but Obama didn't get his health care bill until the second day and he didn't but I believe Dodd-Frank was here one in the stimulus was here one as well. You can participate in our poll by going to financial exchange showed dot com bad weekend for uber big I has been bad here for. The last three months now in good form and now what happened over the weekend over suspending their self driving vehicle program after. An accident. And this effectively happened in Tempe Arizona so out on the West Coast are pretty close to. And what what investigators are saying. Is that a apparently a car did not yield. Properly to the uber self driving vehicle no one was seriously injured in the crash there was not a wasn't the automated cars fall. No it wasn't but the automated car still did not. But it was not able to avoid. The accident here. These kinds of things in the long run for self driving vehicles they're good because it allows companies to address the problems with the technology continue to improve it. But obviously it shows that look that even today they're not perfect but again. This was not the fault of the self driving vehicle was rather someone who did not yield when the self driving vehicle. Had the right of way now I was surprised that they pulled them off the road altogether they've been shut down operations in Pittsburgh. It just it seemed. It is my opinion but it seemed like an overreaction that might be just that they want to complete investigation. Before putting them back on they might be back on today or tomorrow you know I I can't imagine they're going to be out for for very long if it comes back clean. It's the underdogs vs North Carolina in the final four I saw my team lost there airs on was my team yet there are out there are out who they lose to Xavier. Yeah I guess if they hear more of the better stories of this whole term and actually the eleventh seed so who's left who's who's still at the end OUN season it there they they are they. You know they're probably the prohibitive favorite at this point I would say yeah them and Zach is a close second. Then you've got an organ team that's a little bit beat up at a very talented team. And then they South Carolina team that quite frankly came out of nowhere. And is just on one of those raw Cinderella on the outs it's yet I believe there are a seventh seed. So no Beecher for South Carolina everybody likes to root for the underdog so you'll see a lot of that this weekend the way I also see it is they beat duke sue if they win the whole thing it's kind of justified it's like okay no one else to beat the neither he beat duke the other team that beat duke. Danny they've and they beat Florida I mean Dave mar or not. They're legit team they've they've been tested they were on I mean they've played some good teams they may be under rated than they did dart their seventh seed. No doubt very impressive. But I don't have any money. I think draftees doesn't run a final four bracket. To laugh or do that might might remain probably do write them. Don't talk about credit cards. I was shocked when I read this you guys all have credit cards you'll end. Some credit cards you have have an annual fee on mindless may have but I am an American Airlines car. Cart Indy gets me access to the admirals club with these expensive but yeah a lot of perks with. Well if you have. A credit card and let's say the bill comes in. And it's got an annual fee on you know Tucker your credit card has an annual fee no because I make it a point had no annual fee credit cards that we even if you do have one with an annual fee if you call in to say Indy complain about being of the bill waving. EV percent of the time yet. 80% of the time this is on a survey that was done by credit cards dot com and they surveyed around 950 credit card users and pretty much what they found. An 80% of the time most of the time the fee is waived completely in a lot of times it's still is at least partially reduced. And in generally. What they've said is look if you're someone who pays off your balance every month if you're typically using the car a lot. Eight you're someone who's going to be able to get that he waved easily they're making a lot of money on oh they're making a ton on. The other thing they'll do which I thought I'd I didn't notice. If I didn't know they'd waived the fee. But they also if you're late with your payment and gosh. It we've all had the right DE the wife thinks that you sent to you think the wife dissent in the credit card bill turns out neither one of you who sent it. And you get into the league he has it when you get a leafy you're paying the penalty in your pain and interest payment yet. Bill waved back even more often you don't wave that 87%. Of the time if he called say look. You know I I see charged me if there's a charge could be very high urine and a big tab you can oh yeah you could be looking at 300 dollar bill yet. Bill wade sat on 87% of the case it's amazing isn't it. You get used squeaky we. Now you do have to be in good standing to get that way yeah it can't be something more every month your behind and you know you're you're you're missing payments left to right but. If you've been a good customer for 45 years all of a sudden. You know you just forget because you know everything was going crazy one month. They're generally pretty good as an eighty some percent of the time the wave. Has Tesla delivered on any of those model three cars there the lead the big story last year where they sold like 400 we get 400000 pre orders for the model three. I believe that they are starting to ramp up the up prototype production right now as a starting to get those out on the road with the expectation. That they're gonna start making deliveries in September or October so they'll be in those this. I noticed that they are now taking orders. Well the starred in April they're taking orders for their solar roofs. And this is a little bit of surprise me that they're doing this quite this are me too I wasn't expecting it to be coming right now. But the company's gonna start taking orders next month these remember. Talked about these maybe 45 months ago they are effectively solar shingles that look like either terra cotta roofs or. Slate roofs and things like that it's the next wave in solar panels. They're actually made entirely of textured glass of vital New York. And pretty much what they do in in what Elon Musk is claiming. Is that they should actually be cheaper to manufacture and install than a traditional group now. I'll believe it when I see it but again if they're gonna start taking orders in a month. That's pretty impressive I was impressed by and I think it's I think this'll be. A big seller. If I guess you know it's good to depend on use efficiencies that they look a lot better. They give the appearance of this like I've got solar panels on a couple of my properties. And I had just admit the I have them I love the fact that they saved me 600 bucks a month data box vote whatever it is they're saving me. But they're a well and and I will say here's the thing the efficiencies if you can get the cost down to the same cost as a normal group OK I don't think it which. Again I can't imagine that you can't just how is this not been done before but if you could. The efficiency don't even matter that is just hold it they they can't it be the shingles cost twenty times woody you know and fault I know that's the regular ones you know. But this it. I wonder what they're comparing the price point to a they're comparing them to the Slaton terra cotta ones in OK could understand that you're the same cause there now there's no way it's gonna be is cheapest gas I don't think so. I I I don't think it will be but the fact of the matter is. If you're building a new house or let's say you're a a community. In Arizona you're here community in New Mexico. Do you just say hey any new homes being built this is what they do and Israel any new homes being built you have to build solution yet. When I got my tech I could see that take the pressure off of the grid that mentally just it it makes an awful lot of sense. And they don't look easy they don't look unattractive they're they're good looking nationals. And when we come back we'll be joined by John face from Morningstar program be talking about we'll take a couple mutual funds. In an effort to have it become an durable global or Medicaid trust. Yet the answer is yes you can go back and get your rule Coble trust but no you cannot go back and I'll and the old trust. So I think that's very requires him. It requires the crafting of a new document. Absolutely in fact I'm gonna tell you right now if you do go back to your old lawyer to get it changed and here she says Alia. We can we can you know. A man this existing trust that you have walked out there because it's a recipe. For disaster. These irrevocable trusts are not simply going to take the word re probable and make it irrevocable and somehow that fixes it it's a language that needs to be in the document soup to nuts the guts of the trust that really provides the protection you're looking for. Joining us now to talk about a mutual fund here on a mutual fund Monday is John Fay for Morningstar. John thank you very much for joining us today. I. Yet John let's talk a little bit about this fund it's called the causeway emerging markets fund can give our listeners a little bit of background on what this fund invests in. Yeah so there is an emerging market there and done that. When my wife and urging market. The basic idea is. In emerging market or or unity exploit market beat. Ample lack of a but there're all due greater Pitt. Come. Greater opportunity over I turn that well. That the un is. Let that was. Doctor archer tire and third as lead manager that option. Open. A coroner has been a co manager. Well. And there. Primarily. One at. 08 do you like it is now. To look at companies. Or million dollars. US. Treat all. A 23 mercy Arctic countries there India and at the ally Turkey are in. Dale all the hitters out in the country like. She cutter. Cut. And their goal is outperform the. John how is this fund compared to its index over say the last three to five years. It's actually done. Play well. In the long oh on. The an option to go out and I'm. As we. It lies torture. Market. Two point 8%. A typical here. Are are. That your what went on. A media. Figure out. Because there are. Short term volatility. It. In twenty cheap or at all. I actually did. Less well. Match. Ups that there are some period where. Well. And where better. John one of the questions that I always have one we talked about emerging markets funds. Is the cost is because it tends to be more expensive. For investors to gain access to those markets what's the cost to investors were buying these phones. So. They're here. That the eat it after. Which is. Typical out there. Individual. It's actually. A little bit higher each year or. Oh vote market. Though it one point or we. Is an issue. And an investor. And eat it did you culture out there you're. Retired by. Or 48. You participated. Through it. That is actually. Much more. In April. Eight over eighty. Bill. We hear or her I. But the culture and art. What. Probably a little bit out of reach for most folks but I guess yeah. You know wherever we can dream at least what when you talk about where this one fits into someone's portfolio you mentioned this tends to be a little bit higher risk so. Not necessarily a core holding but someone have somewhat of a supplement. On the equity side if I'm right. Yeah absolutely. With a it. You art in them kinda think the Judy or are you. You. Good fitter. But I I would not either or older. Got a picture. Not at all. All right very good John thank you very much for joining us today. Absolutely John pay for Morningstar the ticker on that fund should you want to watch take a look on your own. Is CE MVX once again that is the causeway emerging markets fund in that ticker is CE MV. Act. It's an emerging market funds in just to put them in perspective a little bit is. You know they typically you don't for a long period of time they'll do very well that means you're gonna have some volatility like you wouldn't believe. He had a lot more volatility and you have the domestic stuff. You do to put it in perspective. You remember back in the 2008 crash cure the US market fell about 50%. This fund as an example went from 1469. At its peak. Down to around 460 nines this lost almost 70%. And that's the thing it's how long did it take to come back it took. Back three years to come back to a did get back. But again you do have to be willing to be patient there and you do have to accept that you're gonna have greater volatility. On a day to day basis the question is yet do you get the return in the. Long run for that volatility where I think we look at this if you have a 401K plan. In in your thirty years old. I would have no problem putting it chunk of my money from my 41 K plan into emerging market because I'd say to myself well. Look I'm thirty I can't spend this money. For another 3540 years right right Dick now Nancy you have that long time horizon and unwilling to bet that Brazil's growth will be faster. In the growth in the United States over the next forty years exactly that's that's the calculus that you're kind of playing there is say look. A set and forget I'm not gonna touch it for twenty years but we just leave this in here. And I should be and a good spot twenty years and don't look at it too often no don't look at it especially when it's down there you'll you'll develop a bad case of logic there. Markets are now speaking of being down. It Dow's down a 125. Points 20470. Crude oil worth tech talk about crude oil the next segment. Crude illustrating down 83 cents a barrel at 4714. Called today. Engine we're talking about interest rates we are of the opinion. And that interest rates are going to rise two or three times during calendar year 27 team the big question is chuck why is the Federal Reserve increasing the federal funds rate now yet the big reason why the Fed bumps up that federal funds rate. Is because they feel the economy is on pretty stable footing and they simply want to make sure that inflation. Doesn't get out of control if there's too much money floating around in the economy so what they do is they raise that federal funds rate and has two effects one it makes borrowing a little bit more expensive. It also raises the amount that people were able to get on things like CDs and savings accounts helping them to keep money in the bank instead of spending so would we talked about how housing. Is hot and prices are rising in young people millennial they're getting priced out of the housing market people can't afford to buy a house to house because prices are rising too fast with the Fed take that into consideration when they're looking at raising interest rates they would housing does factor and all their inflation metrics that they look at and so is definitely something that factors in. And what you see there is that as rates and the rising mortgage rates go up to makes a little bit more challenging to buy a home. OK so rising mortgage rates would actually depress housing prices had to know. Those stock market's down but it's only down a 108 points and I got to tell you I thought this could be. A bad day in and I was looking at the the failure. Of the repeal of obamacare. And that happened late on Fridays in the stock market didn't have a lot of time to react yup. To see the failure of Republicans to repeal Obama care. There right now douse them underneath points so some now. The markets are saying okay he may have struck out and repealing obamacare but maybe he'll do better with taxes and I don't know. We'll keep mine the other thing to point out here is that this market has pulled back. All in all about 4% since the high it reached on March 1 so it's been a very quiet pullback normally would pull back their their steep there quick. And in the take a big chunk out very quickly this has been a more deliberate slide here it's been very kind of gradual. Over the last month. And I think you know a lot of people probably look up and say I you know the market has really moved on when. 4% it's not it's not nothing notes you've you've seen a decent little pullback here we use thought back on March 1. You you thought stocks were little bit higher than they should and and and I think he could make that argument today I still think you can make an argument there is another 10%. And and I don't think that's outlandish to say that look he could see the S&P when he won fifty years somewhere like that. And I don't think it's a bad thing in the long term but I think we have some short term growing pains that we just have to go you know a 10% pullback. Would create an opportunity for many view beginning at. They a lot of people know that Don and yeah me a lot of people. It's a day utilized as stocks are too expensive well you know if you're sitting on cash. I don't know be you may get that opportunity to buys sometime in the next ninety days desist tax bill. He's gonna drag out at least. At very least until on one in keep in mind you know we we always you know reverend sickness and all they can definitely get something done by August and union you take a look at the calendar remember. Were already through march we are going we're now in the third month of the new administration. How to get short very quickly can see you again you go through all of a sudden you know you through tax time and then all of a sudden you get pretty much three months to get this done. That's it it's not as much time as you think right. They you know I came across a story that I found fascinating that you knows well I did posted on my FaceBook page so if you follow me on FaceBook you see it. It's called the read the headline here is how much it costs both Saudi Arabia and the US to produce well. Now I found it fascinating because. Five years ago when you try to find out this and reverend really talked about what's really cost the US to get yeah oil out of your beverage industry itself but it just couldn't. Now we we got access. In any pain from. Energy consultant writes that energy. And shows us how much it cost Varian countries to get oil out of the ground. Yet you see is that Saudi Arabia has the lowest cost of extraction. Out of any major producer eight dollars and 98 cents a barrel where their profit and that allies I think with that those turkeys we know that the idea barrel near the biggest producer Wendy about 1112% of global production yet in that ballpark. So that allows them to set the price right. And there's again that they pretty much don't care they say what you wanna set the price down to fifteen fund will go to fourteenth as we can still be profitable and you won't be. The reason that you won't be in the US for non. On shale deposits of traditional oil drilling writer at 21 dollars of bear. Okay. The pause to come down significantly cost too though that 2335. Right now I found that to be which is shocked shocked I was part of our doubts whether that's accurate as it it seems does that seem well. Does he think about the labor involved fail you've looked at how shale. Will lose is extracted it seems like a lot more only. Other countries on this list the wrong second at nine dollars and eight cents a barrel rack there at 1057 Russian 1921. B which you know you look at that in all four of those countries I would consider to be enemy nations. You know those are they're all. Much less expensive producer Russia's not a cheap though when he bucks over Russia is pretty close to the US in terms of cost because a lot of the new Russian deposits are offshore. But isn't a big part of the cost differential tax. You like you look at. It is so much less in Saudi Arabia and tax yet it's a big chunk in terms of tax but also labor cost is huge you know you you look at labor costs in the last. And compare that to labor Austin Iraq Iran or Saudi Arabia and their use and sleeps it's it's completely different it's just unbelievable. The the thing that strikes me if you if you take out the tax issue. Because Canada is expensive as well Canada's 2664. The UK's at 44 bucks a barrel Brazil at 34 dollars a barrel Nigeria 28. But if you look at those higher cost countries for the extraction of oil. They're getting packed for new line which allows them. To generate more infrastructure spending that there's some there are some financial benefits. Too taxing your oil reserve I think at some point Saudi Arabia. Iran and Iraq what you just look at the social infrastructures in those countries that it all three of those countries. Our. Generally one call them but he of the dictatorships mean it's not only on that sees the you don't have. A free society in any one of those three countries now. What what's interesting and it kind of circle back to what this means for US consumers. What's interesting is that over the last month okay oil prices have come gone from 5434. And a 44. I'm sorry 4744. Okay you've seen about a 15% dip in oil price that's. Triple light the national gas prices averaged one month ago two dollars 28 cents today two dollars 28 cents a no movement on gas prices finally interest rates and bank should just stick. It's so stick like again you've seen a 15% dip in oil prices. Part of this is because this time a year were a lot of refineries off line because they get reset for the summer they do a lot of maintenance you start working for the oil lobby. On the side I'm trying to via this this is my pets you know if if they want those turnovers that means the prices come down next month in theory once you get in April the price should come down on notice because that becomes a spring driving others to spring driving season and then obviously they have to do the refitting the stuff there's always something that's going on. You know there's always an excuse. ExxonMobil makes lots profits they do we made real their stock solution complain too much. Probably not do you think OPEC. It is that you look at oil supplies in storage is if it's crazy on the all time records so does OPEC. Further cut the that production I don't think they further cup but I think they maintain their current cuts longer. And I don't know if they have the political capital to do further cuts in Saudi Arabia needs to do something they're taken aramco pub and I can't imagine they're gonna wanna go public street and 45 is does seem a little strange that that's you know that they're not trying to do more even if look if you have to bite the bullet and say what will cut production by two million barrels on their own you know do that in the short term. Cut cut cut production get the price back up to 6070 dollars right arrow. And get your IPO you can always get that production back on line you know this could be 23 trillion dollar company. World's biggest company to be the world's biggest company with the devil you know. I tell you where the markets would when yet that company going public to pay up next we will be joined by mark garment from Bloomberg ruby talking about. Apple and augmented. Reality virtual reality I've been dying to talk about. So I found the story last week. And I I I love virtual reality of the headsets. But the problem to your point track position funnel much yeah. Content there's no. No hockey to watch a hockey game yet right no you can't do much about and you say you can watch in India in massive. They were testing talker how many games they they tested like maybe five or ten games of the original thought maybe less than that they they were testing the technology. It's it's just a real chicken and egg problem then you know the contents there is no one's watching it was watching because there's no content. But listen to god just jump in the market it's a cable was a little money for year to to be the first person there because I think the market is here. I I think people will buy them if they're properly priced. And I would pay immediately if if the product is really strong. I would pay five to ten bucks to watch the Bruins game we've been on on BR think about the super mobile. I elected to pay for super I would pay a hundred dollars that super but the two have a virtual ticket on the fifty yard they have to note right like it again. This is me sit you have to do anything I'll sit in my old right living room pretending to be on the fifty yard and all I don't know hundred dollar and oh by the had a pop that 500 all that's what I will finally buy one is when I can do that. Ayman but if apple gets into it right that they may have. Don't they have the biggest brand I have any tech company in terms of like in terms of being in households now you might have more in droids collectively but in terms of Cingular brand I think their number one they do and and here's the thing this is the kind of market. That apple normally crushes they're never first to market remember we've seen the populist we've seen Samsung come out with this book is not what we very yet we've we've seen other companies try to do it. This is just like what apple did with the MP3 player hey there were other ones first they came out the iPod destroyed the rest of the market. We saw the Smartphones Blackberry was in that market Blackberry own the Smartphone market what happened apple came in blackberries out of business the tablet market everyone tried to do it. Apple came in. Dealt with that the one place were apples out of failing. Smart watched. Mean these bits of people over the weekend we still use them like usual but it hasn't been the game change that people expected a lot of women like this they like it because they don't wanna carry their but he didn't they are pleased to carry their phones around rates so they use this Smart watch. And they can use their Smart way justifying their full which inevitably lose. But up I'll tell you this this is the kind of market apple usually succeed in when they move into it it's some something that someone else has been doing. They kind of view the landscape and then they just pounce. This this could be something big. I don't fully understand it but chuck does so he'll be talking to mark garment from Bloomberg about apple and augmented reality next from our insurer match dot com studios. Helping you understand how to best manage your portfolio feature the financial exchange. We Barry Armstrong and chuck signed up on the financial exchange radio network. I'm fascinated by virtual reality and augmented reality but it must confess I don't fully understand how it works or when it's been made available. We're joined by mark Herman from Bloomberg News to talk about that very tough. And mark thank you for joining us today. Mark let's talk about what Apple's working on the first question I have just to kind of clear things up. Is it virtual reality augmented reality or both. So there's a few Kong itself there there there is they are there is BR which is a better reality and virtual reality. Apple's focusing on the way our side on the augmented reality side this means you could put on a pair of digital collapses. Be able to see the real world and what have you. But I have digital 3-D images and animations and contents. Overlaid on top of that virtual reality would be all and closing all encompassing a good game or watching a movie. So this is more something that is looking to compete with the Google glass that was released a couple years ago rather than the populace raft. That's been. Great way to put it that exactly that's exactly it this is more vocal choir and orchestra. What exactly are they do we have any information on any any specifics of this pointers it still Kenneth shrouded in mystery like things tend to be an apple until they're released. We know this is at least a year away so launched 2018 and earliest for AR collapses. You'll be able to feed information from an iPhone. 2 o'clock this much like the iPhone feed information to the apple walk actually the other product and there. Horrible strategy we've known that they've created a large expansive. And skilled team or the AL projects with people from. What a digital 3-D animation company. People with expertise in developing all the vices. Video and audio expert so they have a lot of attention going into politics. So here's my big question with any of these devices and maybe this is just because I'd old fashioned I guess. There's a creeping this factor with augmented reality because you are. Effectively transmitting data about what you're seeing and what where you are. And I think get a certain level people wonder if you if they're being recorded or not and and I just wonder is there anything that they can do to get past that it's it's my personal hang up but I feel like a lot of people. Think similar. If the intercept any individual users outweighs the cost to. Declaring them a lot of people gonna want aware of them and apple don't striking out balanced correctly Kubel clot into very good job marketing and are selling at remembered he's been a beta test units it sold in north of fifteen under dollars a unit he really wasn't done well the consumer product. And I'd bet that apple will do it right now perspective given they've done it right in the consumer space time and time again. That was there any do we have any word as to whether or not this is going to be a standalone product to will need to be tethered to an iPhone much like the watches. Right and the and it's possible these standalone but a lot of the information and content only if that at least initially from an iPhone given that the iPhone is the hard crap all that were out all the the tone of the X so they're gonna wanna connected in some fashion. That was apple trying to do anything on the VR siders this is is it purely an augmented reality project. I'd imagine they have experts in the dark side of him there's a reason they decided to go and they are direction I don't think it would go. Right into AR buses and eight are features of the iPhone. If they hit experiment would be our first usually the being tried. But two different things are making that decision and perhaps the reason why they've made that decision to go they are out. And you said that this is something it's a 2018 product at the earliest. All right very good mark thank you very much for joining us today. Marc Berman from the Bloomberg talk about apple and their augmented reality plans to do you still have to have eight by theory on this is on his behalf that sport. It is to really. Introduced mass. You know how many people watch this couple hundred million. Yeah we'll keep months of this is augmented reality which is you're wearing a separate set of glasses that doesn't block out what's in front of you but it's more when you're walking by a target you get an ad that shows up on the glass is saying hey come on in the last time you hear you bought this will give you 50% off and so it opens up a lot of things from an advertising perspective which. I do think it's something that could turn people if they start seeing too many ads and so forth. But it also opens up the potential for. You know new uses that we might not have considered previously remember. You know some of the stuff about distracted driving us okay. What if instead of having to be and we even say look sometimes you have to be looking down your phone appeasing GPS to know where you're going. What if instead of doing that gives the Green Line that appears on them on your glasses saying hey turn left here. So you don't have to look down. You know those the kinds of uses. That they could be very functional for you or let's say that you're with your kids and enemies in the parking ticket sale I wanna go on give this ride. Well what if just three glasses he can say okay here's the fastest path to that ride what you know. Things that save you time and effort. Those the kinds of things that I think will be useful. But again the cost is a if it's because you have all these ads on popping up there's a balance there is you don't wanna overwhelm the user. And also one of the big things that I come back to the privacy question you know if I'm walking with glasses that are view capturing video and so forth. Hey where's that data go. In the act is used in like the snapped classes for members. I may and kind of privacy not know. What do you think this is already baked into their stock price to see the stock trading pretty close to its 52 economies been higher than a 142. But right now 240. I don't know the big dinner I think this is still pretty much a moon shot for them so I think it's a long way off. I I don't know if this is baked in that stock arsonists are trying to think about there. Products they've come out with that have been dismal failures it's a short list. It's not like we when you look at other companies they've got a lot of failures apple tends to not roll out until it's perfect. Dominique you take a look at the the products that were failures. Over time a lot of them were kind of in that Steve Jobs. You know when he left the company back in the ninety's a lot of them were from back then you look at host Steve Jobs REE. Like when he died with a guy like 56 years ago we've won eleven in the fall now. There haven't been that many recently in. And even the ones that have failed Moore has been that they haven't sold you know no there hasn't been a blockbuster product he has. Last blockbuster that was the iPad right and he that was it you know so it's it's definitely been a little while and the question is. Can't Tim Cook on the operation side and Joni I have on the design side come up with something. That is unique enough and so far the had been known to even call the watch a failure at this point or is it stole week I don't see I hope I call the watch a push them you know it's. And I elected. I believe it more on the fact that that in high here. It's just it it's a tough putt went the big problem with the watch is it still needs to be tethered to the phone you still need to care to phone. But is that the cellular. Technology if you put in the watch drains the battery too quickly and that's the big issues they have been able to overcome that. If they could ever get it untethered from the phones I don't need at my phone. On my on my body while I'm using it. That's it now I'd be very curious to see via the numbers going forward on the Bluetooth. Wireless headphones I think those things are complete waste of time. I've heard some good things from a couple people really maps without an apple product Tucker yeah it's an apple it's the your but the wireless here but I just think it's pointless but I just make it might be pointless but efforts and good reviews actually. All right. Well the stock Apple Stock eat PL trading at 140 dollars and 29 cents the NASDAQ down eighteen and the Dow. Down under for coming back will be talking about a gun manufacturer expanding in New England. From our insurer match dot that you. You've got barrier and stronger financial exchange. Talk about COLT they are gun manufacturer in the are looking to expand it looks like in Connecticut. Yet they've gone through a job bankruptcy proceeding last year. And what they're doing now is they're actually purchasing their headquarters and manufacturing plant as part of a 23 million dollar. Investment in Connecticut they're gonna keep their entire workforce 600 people. And looked at a hundred new jobs over the next five years. And the state department of economic and community development is providing ten million dollar loan with two million potentially being forgiven. If call ends up meeting there job hiring milestone. So it's good good good for Connecticut but Connecticut could use the help yet here. It's a state that continues to recede in terms of the economy in and population. You know I haven't done this yet I told you about it cash for most of the guys about this month or two ago. Haven't gone and gotten it in his on credit card through JPMorgan Chase TV has done it I've been either. This is their big. Thing for 2017. And if you're not aware of it Amazon is offering me credit card program in the Neiman thing. JPMorgan. Frying its chase card sinker and now it's. It anyway. You have to apply for doctors to Amazon rewards visa signature card. It's a JPMorgan. Is the bank on it actually noticed the old one so art and you load what you do is you to let you load that to you load that car shut up. You load the card into your Amazon Amazon prime rewards visa card days thank you think now he can in Europe it. Intelligent to contribute but you you get that card you get a 5% discount. On everything you buy it yeah Imus ever. Now grip that 5% has to go back to Amazon. So you can't take that cash back and he's somewhere else that took an opener that again last night I ordered some toothpaste and ran out of toothpicks ordered some some dental field. And it was the I got 5% cash back down to the deal. It's great deal and Amazon this is the next thing they're trying to do to keep people you know about oil bonanza yeah they're getting piece of that action from DP 01% and they're definitely getting something coming back on that contract there so. It's obviously you know the next thing to kind of keep people in that prime ecosystem and keep the spending money there. I don't have it yet but I would imagine. In the next probably six months. I'll probably pick one would you guys buying truck is go to be in new homeowner would you buy a and a sofa or would you buy it still over refrigerator for in his own on I wouldn't know. They're trying to get an of that as an ended. Taking an interesting approach here and potentially go to build some showrooms but then also offer home delivery. For all their prime members and so my big reason for not buying would be service that here's a guy there's an appliance guy in our town. And I bought washer from them dryers microwaves snows and all that stuff like pretty big ticket idea. And he has a service to so when something breaks like microwave he had a guy out next day fixed it. Same thing with the washing machine you'd do with Amazon. If that's what Hillary's I don't buy stuff from Home Depot and I like I won't buy a washing machine from Home Depot is an active service. Think my my big thing this service is a good point but I also just want to be able to. Tennessee it and feel it and be able Wednesday that a Home Depot they they went over fervor like furniture on Amazon the guy wouldn't buy outs off Amazon is I don't know exactly. You know might look great but what it's really comfortable via. You know or a stove OK I think it's gonna be here in the dimensions match up. But what if it doesn't quite you know what if everything isn't quite however Walt what's actually see it. It would with big ticket purchases like that I generally. Like to kind of see and and feel and be able to touch the purchases opposed to buying an on line. It's like to remind you that on Thursday. We will be taking our show on the road we're going to be broadcasting from seasons 52 in Chestnut Hill this Thursday. And seasons 52 in Chestnut Hill Massachusetts. Phone number one last time 803934001. So I had a question about seers. Last month. I think you told us it's pretty close to go bankrupt crate would indeed make their they've got some pretty serious problem and they pretty much admitted it. What is there as weak yet they said last week. In the stock haven't looked at it today yes. Each NL DE is the symbol. And the stock keys oh top poll out to nine point 8% to nine dollars and 34 cents a share. What happened they must have some kind of deal on something where anyway. Would have. Happens he if they go bankrupt. And you bought one of those extended warranties which they are famous for. On one their stoves or one of their plants. So no one is 100% sure at this point just because the company is not commented. But a number of law firms have come in and said look there's a pretty good chance that they try to. Effectively. Renee on these warranties. And potentially dissolve them now just because it would be an ongoing liability for them in a bankruptcy it's all about trying. To reduce those liabilities seeking continue to go forward here that happened before. Sports. Matter if they would have had extended warranties that and well no they probably wouldn't you know I'll take one word to give whomever gateway computer from when you're in college. Yes that's the computers that I used to have a grown up. Well gateway had to deal if you bought a college computer when your freshman Oca they would replace. At any good at any point any time he had a four year war a note that a terrible deal for the and it may defaulted on there because they had probably because of that exact deal while would kids have been losing traction computer Aaliyah halfway through school you get into. Yeah and that that's so I I think if you have my guesses if you have the one of these computers you probably know. I would imagine I mean it's it's it's a tough putt for Sears to try to. You know keep those warranties and keep all of those. Potential liabilities out there when they're trying to. You know pay their other creditors an effort because if you think about if your credit or let's say that you are a bond holder for Sears are okay. You're you're gonna sit there and you say wait you're gonna honor someone who bought something from you but not someone who actually invested in your company and allowed you to finance your your purchases. And contractually they have to pay the bottle. Where is the law the court is gonna say we don't care about these people about the war Brady and Peyton bottled up. We're joined by Tim Stevens from the CNET road show to talk about ball ovals we used to call the station wagons when I was accused him. Absolutely can you guys have almost been doing a really interesting things lately they've been now reinventing themselves that shrugged off so much corporate packages over that appears and really really a lot of really great looking cars. And the way that we're going to be seeing the not too distant future is BB XE XP which is you know a bit of it all wagon or a little beat and you know you look at it. But really cool looking design really high and him and all among luxurious we might think I think with the. All know what I think a ball boy I think safety net that's what they are known for you know you'd viable for your teenage driver. Because you're worried about them getting an accident they still world renowned for their safety features. Absolutely although definitely usually focused on eight you probably more so than any other manufacturer out there and so they've been very progressive when they come to know only things of course what crash. Structures and Karzai and airbags and I had that to protect you in the case of an accident but also looking into more active CP features they'll avoid goes back and they've been really regret when it comes to things like. Adaptive cruise control. On the breaking and even with a little help your card automatically you're around the collision. I think Richard getting to act and so all of them and again very progressive and they want to buy 20/20. Have none of their car involved in any it'll act at all basically in any quite twenty and beyond mall year although. It one bit could have took that Albert from any although all of which is very aggressive but also you know really encouraging to see them in and then the back on tour. Family car would you be would you describe the exe sixty is a family vehicle. Definitely they've got a bigger XT nine giving used about a month ago which is two to LeRoy TV nick he picked is a little bit more so between you know 45 people total. Obviously the company can easily put wreak RC in in the back he gets younger ones. A lot of room behind the seat or things like like slaves or camping equipment back and thank them combat but yet despite it being a fairly small it's obvious he goes to a lot of luxury a lot of appointments. And look at BMW sound system and audio and now a lot of night that the payment to step to compatibility with technology and and now car plant. Is this all wheel drive for four wheel drive it would lead it wouldn't be doing. Absolutely you'll be able to are configured in a lot of different options although typically has about three different engine options in the US and you can get you to chrome wheel drive or all wheel drive we're probably looking at on the Loewen would be put of the heat I expect which is about a 150 horsepower. A turbocharged four cylinder then go up to expect the deal low over 300 acre horse power all wheel drive at that point.
