This is very are strong and I'm joined today by estate planning attorney Todd lot ski. From the law firm of Cushing and Dolan with your financial exchange quick tip of the day today we're talking about the top. Misconceptions. About Medicaid. Irrevocable trusts taught on that note. Many people a lot of our listeners are afraid of giving up control. Of their assets to a trustee with the use these irrevocable trust is this a valid concern. It is absolutely not about concern but one that I can understand why people think that right they hear the word irrevocable immediately think you know that's and I have no control well here's the real issue this irrevocable trusts that were speaking up while I don't love it if you serve as trustee yourself so I don't want mom and dad to service trustee you put on a child let's say as trustee first while they should be a friendly trustee is that your fan I'm sure but most importantly how do you retain control you retain the right to remove. And replace that trustees that called power of appointment known I'll just a simple power of removing and replacing a trusty little different than power appointment but absolutely just kick him out anytime you want and replace them with anybody want to just not yourself. Well iRobot you buried at that sends the message to me that I really have the control over the trust not to trustee and if they were doing anything I didn't like you better believe I'd given the vote. Very good well you need to get the facts about protecting your assets from long term care expenses at least that's my suggestion. Request this brand new guide from Cushing and Dolan. By Josh Mitchell from the Wall Street Journal. President Obama. Outlining a program were student loans will be forgiven you're gonna wanna hear that interview it's coming up momentarily. Before we do that though I wanna talk about the jolts report came out at 10 AM eastern time. You know you you look at a report like that it was good news Michael. Yeah Eric didn't have good news there at the numbers have been improving month over month. In the last couple months have been about flat but the job openings report was five point 4 1000000 this morning about five minutes ago that was released and you know continued good news which was Seattle market reacts that you know every time we see these good news stories and smear concerned about rising interest rate price and market and it. Sought to sell off around by yep good news on the economic front. The last monthly data point that we had and I shared this with you in the past if I'm looking at a chart now from the Federal Reserve. And if you go back Michael to the year 2009. Every time you apply for jobs or seven competitors the right to would you netstat Parker yesterday at Edmonton. You know their seven applicants for every job that when you guys graduating college. Today that number is now one point five neat that's how many people are applying for a job. It had been last month it was one point 68 so. That competitive nature of the job market and I would suggest this to you if you've been out of work for awhile this actually might be an opportune time to re enter the workforce if you've got skills. Now let's say have you CDO the day in and you know you you've got to clean record you can drive. To elect. Wages are up you're gonna be of the make more money as as a result of the declining. Rate of unemployment and the fact that there are more jobs opened this month than there were last time and the workforce and be content and change jobs and promotional swear and look for a rising wage that's right. Good news at a pizza hot this is ingenious Texas good news I'm absolutely. You know what I'm not a big Pizza Hut I've ever been to pizza and haven't now well looks like Grossman's. It into your they are making massive. Absolutely startling. Revelations to their new menu and and this is gonna get me in the door right I'm just very excited about. The integration of hot dogs and pizza yes absolutely disgusting it's part protect seniors are elected you should go for yeah it's going to be big into the crossed if the you know that the ring around right in uttering Europe crime story. There's going to be hot dog. Big inside. A bat crossed that something wrong is that's. I'll let our press forget about that that definitely added you know it's gonna give heart attack and I am better detail just that they wouldn't it be great this great now you get to the end peaked yet the crust. It's kind of like into a match. Now be looking forward to getting to the crust on your pizza but some relish mustard on there yeah I you get yours aren't enthusiastic. With the coach right now it's comes out and you come back on and mr. Portman it would fiction section I I would I I will. This is it is the bill is not available not yet now where when the idea that by that and I local pizza honestly I don't have the inside track and off here in the US it is. Yet you are a whole ideas that app. Inside information. And and and ready to re ready to go there based of the the cheese filled crest right that's like staple now it's yet that's not that it. Now it's because it eats like a minor matches this whole hot the circling the pizza crust and I thought well don't be like eight hot dogs and yeah yeah. Or maybe one really big circular. Want to turn out I'm I'm the pot of gold port I know I will try to I'm I'm excited about this. I'm also excited about this story but it a bad way. The NFL the national felon. Billed taxpayers seven million dollars to honor veterans. Anti did you guys know the story yet to get broken actually a week or two ago it's it's. This adds it's awful and the worst offender. Is renewing the patriot team on. They took in the last three years the New England Patriots. Received 675000. Dollars from the Department of Defense right in order to. Honor veterans utter about you have been to a football game and are being a hockey game in CD's guys getting honored I just thought. That is that night to the nice gesture that would classy move on the part of the team. To honor the vet because then that gets the auction gained jobs in this that's a thought it was all about I did soup but that was my impression right. Turns out the New England Patriots received it just think about the 675000. Dollars. Over three year period time more than any other NFL team. The the Denver Broncos. Received 460000. Dollars and those are the only two teams that I had. The data Portman at the field. Mystery strictly for about what's ago. Nonprofit organization. That that they've got wounded warriors it's 7000 dollars. Actress and you know all sorts retraining. Order went about mica a charity like the Fisher house down involved with that and that we're big supporters of the Fisher house and I mean I just think. Bob Kraft thanks a you know you've done a wonderful job your billionaire congratulations and all of your success but my guess you really need to take. 675000. Dollars to do. I've just a nice thing I mean is that really necessary. Yeah I mean in this across the NFL it's not just the patriots but still it is it is totally backwards. I I thought I was just thank you those are some nice gesture I did true and I wondered now like when you go to hockey games you see that in Tennessee and every sport and basketball to hear in -- that we hero. You know you know the quarter something I mean I I don't know what's going on in BA but you see it all the time. I I don't know if John McCain is on the warpath. The extra again at the Pentagon to release all the professional sports team. If they are Smart. If the patriots are Smart especially given there. Reputation right now they're Smart they say you know what. There you were right and we're gonna rate here's here's here's a check to our favorite to to a veteran tight cherry is not to beat Fisher house treatment break it should be. Check made payable to you know you hear about horrible health care. That are veterans are receiving in the hospital. Okay who wouldn't if that's where it's due to a year in LA. But do the right thing exactly. It will say I I just think that fundamentally law. Beat them by a Apple's latest anti hacking measure will in fury eight law enforcement what would that be asking do you guys have the the four digit code. When your opponent orders and do your own if you do you've got pads on every fifteen minutes while walkman phone okay well the the chances of that being hacked. He is 101000. Variations of that coat rate. Apple announced yesterday. If they're gonna make it six digit code which I'm not crazy but I like I don't know six digits could take me 50% longer. Right you remember two more numbers. Have now. I wonder. Our biometrics becoming much more common with mark. Mark it. That doesn't work though because he they can steal it like at least a year full. They can copy your thumbprint and then re use it on them on the pulse that that was a failed method of protecting your date. And and now they're going to six pitches and other cops don't like beak as it goes from. One in 101000. To one in a billion that the number. Dad is doing different generations and others it's better protection of your date yet has pretty cheap tools. That are. Out on the nation. Where it takes a couple of hours. Ago. The I think in the number of different on our credentials not not happy because. Our lives. Right. Everything I think when that when they got Aaron and I think those have been part of McCain's tax message was huge as it goes and Lloyd's on as well. Oden lights yeah so. Anyway. The they're not happy about it. I'm not really happy about it just as it is that you have to now typing in six digits here. Agreed but I mean there was terminated and or any agent sensor and four. States like 50% of the time now. We're mortgages. Taking an insert into my. Even assuming I can remember that is enough to write my digits down on the back of the phone where you went 234 by six now. Here you're not nobody on the cannot help you guys both have busted. Yesterday. Paying them. It. Patty field. This isn't powers and I'm joined today by a eight planning attorney Todd lucky. Analog permit Cushing and talent with your legally changed quick tip of the day. Today we're talking about last minute cleaning techniques for the procrastinate or they can help seed here ask that if someone goes into a nursing. Todd can anything be done to save the liquid assets of an unmarried individuals. Yet there are some things now remember it's never as good as as advanced planning but it's better than losing all the money and that's really the goal. In order or an individual who single to get on Medicaid. They have to have less than 2000 dollars and often times they won't have a few hundred and that they saved over their lifetime. Well bucket of money is there the individual and how to. Purchased one of these Medicaid annuities and please let me just throw a reminder. That these annuities cannot be purchased prior to someone going into the nursing on the case so don't let somebody tell you that they can you Medicaid annuity today. It's a last minute planting technique. And once you buy this annuity lets me take two or 300000 dollars up access assets. And purchase the annuity that goes access assets are converted to an income stream so value and essence hapless spend 2000 dollars of assets. Because big chunk of that has now paying out and incomes in a month we checked. You'll receive. Over your life expectancy whatever your life expectancy is that the term of the annuity. The moment you buy that annuity you're now eligible for Medicaid annual stretch out the money make it last. Lot longer folks if you are single warm married in their feast with a nursing homes day. The air is something that can be done to save your assets last minute that you need some guidance. Collar rockets were right now heard the brain a guy from Cushing and Alan cleaning for procrastinators. 8668485699. And 8668485699. Helping cut through the financial PS speeds NBA Larry Armstrong enough financial exchange on the financial exchange radio network. And and and yeah. Our guest is Josh Mitchell from the Wall Street Journal he wrote an article yesterday afternoon at 130. And it read the first paragraph and then I'll introduce you to our guest. The Obama administration said it would forgive federal student loans. Owed by Americans who can show they were lured to colleges by fraudulent recruiting. A move that potentially could involve billions of dollars. And is one of the most aggressive measures yet to ease student debt Josh Mitchell what's welcome to the program are a yes I do great things happened I was pretty surprised. Two to see this press release yesterday afternoon W. Actually I I would not because there's been this movement on an honor over the past year. Force students of the date for profit chains. That recently closed down. Unity at their schools closed and they'd been saying they'd been pressuring. Congress. It maturation to four forgive their line so there has been this movement that has let up to what was said this week. But I'll tell you what Josh in reading your article on gonna read another line to yeah. So long is the borrower can document east school persuaded him or her to take out the loan under condition conditions. That would violate state loss I mean that's pretty open ended I think you're gonna have. Flood gate open where kids outcry not just kids the young adults. And adults all over the country are gonna say. Well you know what I was misled by my law school and G later when I went to medical school I thought I was going to be able to make lots of money in this in this. Is this pandora's box. Yes side I think that is one of the concerns here and flat does that questioned the administration's. When they announced that they basically said that a lot of the details. Haven't been figured out there and I hired as special master figure out those details. I do you think that there is a slippery slope here with the administration is saying is that under the law that they're going to use. It someone would have to show that. You know basically there are school violated a state law. And when accessible what is the threshold for that I have to be at court case there's been a judge have to come in and act. And actually determined that eight state law was violated and make that well. We don't know that yet where I hired a special master to figure out what exactly that threshold is but it sounds like the agency the Department of Education. Would actually be out looking had to each individual case. And then they would have to do. Include whether they felt that the evidence that the. That these students. Clipboard. Met that threshold so I do think if there's a slippery slope. I can just tell you from. From my experience in talking with people with student that I've talked with a lot of people you mentioned multiple cup but a lot of people who said you know. I enroll in the law school like for Denver. All of this money that has now that under the impression that I was going to get a job as a lawyer and my school told me that you know act percentage of students or hired after law school and you know that actually let untrue they missed what makes so I do think there is saying a risk of a slippery slope here. I I couldn't agree with you more and I I've read in the past. It with a total student loan debt about one point two trillion. 21 point two to one point trichet about right now. And and that about. I think about thirty to 40% of it is related to these trade schools. Yeah I'm not I'm not sure exactly what that figure that wolf say that is that there is a disproportionate. Amount of debt that is going to these for profit schools and initiation did say that this specifically aimed at this for profit schools they feel like there. That that is a disproportionate source of problems with student at a lot of students are. Are are entering into these schools they're they're paying a lot more than they would pay and a lot of these comparative. Four year public schools. And and and often times they don't get that same types of jobs there. Other class action lawsuits against these pork for a private schools right now like it. Yet there are yet there are a lot of laughs it's. Yes and then there are a lot of spin off its and there are a lot of federal investigations of these schools and it is the secretary of education Arne Duncan said yesterday. You know that there could be more instances where the government put a lot of pressure on some of these companies that they feel have missed but they're they're students. That this company's Arab are evaporate like Corinthian Colleges has no assets. We had a couple mop here in New England they go defunct and there's no way to recoup recover the money so when these loans are forgiven. Josh hey I I think it's a show of shows up on the taxpayer's bill doesn't. Exactly exactly and I ain't you know at some of the critics are saying look the maturation you know this this new well it does help the students. Well your doing is saying okay the these schools did Tommy you know they'd they acted poorly. But it's the taxpayers that are ultimately gonna have to pay for their actions. And I think that's one of the concerns here. Well sure and and here's how it works justly you know everybody's clear. The the state sets up a kangaroo court right. And they say oh yeah all the schools they violated state laws because the states have no skin in the game right this is all federal money these are federally guaranteed student loans. So parliament are the state of Connecticut New Hampshire Massachusetts Rhode Island Vermont and Maine they'll just set up these kangaroo courts and they say. Archie port Johnny. You know he went to University of Maine and he didn't get a job and he's on hard times you have you University of Maine must've violated state law so now all of Johnny's. Federal student loans right are forgiven rated right what is at stake here why does mean can't they don't write and that's. That that's where. This this really gets entangled in what's unfair about this is you have to remember. That the people who arrange for the student loans where the politicians. Right well you know and the federal government that that the policy right now as that the federal government is the main lender still runs and and they and they and and and that policy makers feel that that is something that the government should be investing in it helps to. To have a skilled work force and educated work force that ultimately helped the country as a whole. And I think that's the idea behind the federal student loan programs the consequence of that is that they yes went students default on the airlines are when Nate. Can't pay them back because their school went under. Yes taxpayers pick up the tab. I think the government you know one of their argument. One of the about a British rationed argument says that on the whole the stimulus programs. Still counts as quote unquote a profit on the books. Right now but there are some questions about how these ones are counted for him but that you know on the whole yes he could have these these individual cases where. Students are having their loans for forgiven bank bill that does not cost the taxpayer is actually still shows up as a prophet an overall there. The country's being held by having a skilled educated workforce I think that would be the other side that argument. You know Josh I know. You know what's gonna happen now is just like you ever see the lawyer the ads on television lawyers advertising that no game qualify for Social Security disability. Now I gonna have the same ads running same. Packed attorneys. Are going to be saying I can get student loans forgiven call 1800 and I'll help you get your student loan forgiveness and this is they've just the Obama administration has created a new industry. Well that that actually has started to happen because we've we've seen these this group an income based repayment plan happen. We we now also have these debt debt forgiveness plant outside of this particular policy that was announced this week there is this debt forgiveness. Program that's in place for people to be on the public service you're like a government or he can ambulance forgiven after ten years even appear private sector work reconnect your once again. After twenty years and will we have seen is a lot of private companies are actually starting to advertising contact. American to have indicted that look we can get your wants forgiven and I think people don't realize is that. You actually don't have. Have to go through on these companies did to do that but I think that the companies are doing is they're getting ease. They're saying we can do this for years and yet he has been a little bit of kind of a cottage industry. Josh I figure I'm up against the heartbreak but thank you very much for your chair thank you and we're gonna keep you and speed Obama. From the law firm of Cushing in Dolan with your financial exchange quick tip of the day. We're talking today about the top misconceptions. About Medicaid irrevocable trust. I'll tell you what Todd this is something I hear every April. And that is here's a great fear among listeners that they're going to have to pay higher taxes if you transfer your assets. In two and irrevocable trust is that true or not true. It is not true but again I hear like you here I get calls from the accountants. No offense to the accountants they can't tell that the trust is what we college grant toward trust for income tax purposes by just looking. So when they give us a call we let them know let me explain. Yes it is very true that there are kinds of irrevocable trusts out there. That if not grant toward trusts will be taxed at a much higher rate. Than individuals. When I say a higher rate they don't actually pay higher rate but their rates are compressed until after 121000 dollars of income can you imagine being at the tip top rate for income tax purposes not happy with that. These trusts we make our grand tort trusts which in English means that. Mom and dad the creators of this trust are considered the owners of the trust for income tax purposes which means any interest dividends rents capital gains. That are generated inside the trust during the year. Are simply reported on your personal income tax return just like before. As if you've never done the trust get. Following Barry Armstrong is good for your portfolio find him on Twitter Barry G Armstrong nowadays is the financial exchange radio network. We're talking about student loans and skepticism. While healthy. In this case I think is inaccurate said anyone says very this is just more grandstanding from the government from what you just said it would be totally amazed if ten people. End up qualifying for the student loan forgiveness. Let's have anyone I'll tell you this we've already had 40000. That were approved for total loan forgiveness the cost of that to you the taxpayer assume you're paying taxes of any one. Was 544. Million and there's another 350000. That's been of cost the taxpayers. In this is just one school this is just Corinthian Colleges right. Is another 350000. Current team students who are gonna have about three and a half billion dollars forgiven. This doesn't include. I TT tech it doesn't include your local hairdressing school doesn't include your truck driving school I mean just think about all the technical schools. That exist out there. Where kids have gone if you went to a technical school. That's probably going to be I don't know I'm gonna guess 3400 billion dollars that gets forgiven but then. That you opened up the flood gate. Because what's gonna stop you you went to Roger Williams University you said OT you know and I went there right products to be making all this money. I'm not making as much money as I thought I would be so filed this appeal and they'll be an attorney talker that we'll handle that appeal for you for free. I would hope that there is some way Kazaa give Pitt they're going to format this that. Colleges that are not in bankruptcy and can afford to pay out these fraudulent claims that they affair convicted of fraud yup prodding the student hopefully. A content college like Roger ruins of the notes that pay that out themselves rather than it is US government forget I'd I don't see that happen. Because when you look at the the administration of the college who's consistent. Right he eats a lot of political appointees. You look at where you went to school Michael is somebody who served in the Clinton administration Eric call. I don't know who served as the president and dean of your school but if you look at colleges and universities systems they're usually. Failed politicians right that they couldn't get reelected and they get appointed as the president of the school or whatnot. And then. All that has to happen talker all you have to do is go to the state rate you are going to do is appeal to the states in saint. Why didn't get the full value of what I was promised as an education that the state could careless the state is in effect they've got to have your. Guide your student loans forgiven because that gives you more disposal income that they can tax rate. So the state has no skin in the game they're gonna approve everybody they're gonna say oh yeah. I think it quite weak and thirdly and seek to benefit from Trent. Now it looks expensive armed some metrics that you may look at this sock. Yeah I think it's a problem with today's market is that everything looked pretty that the you know I think there are a couple of reasons that number one. This is still relatively. Not that big of a company I think there is plenty of room still for the for the company to blow. It's just that you're about eight billion dollar market yet there is a lot of speculation out there. That lightweight it is that potential pick out targets more a bigger up later in the statement that we have that. Those content of feeling that they're and it and it pushed spot for a couple. Well I can imagine that to be a possibility. All right let's take a look at Xoom corporation it's spelled XO OM that's the symbol for the stock it's a twenty dollar stock would they do. It is and does it is it is a global remittance. Company and so like he could remittance he'd double the one the one country to probably should undermine proposed as western union. As soon as essentially western union but when it first century and more western union relieve relied. So long physical presence all these different countries. It and you know built up from the ground up as a tech company for the money transfer but it focuses specifically on US outbound mid. But they're typical customer. Is you know but wanted immigrated to the United States was in the United States as being a week out back over these things Philippines or Mexico or India or China and the new. Outplayed in Tibet specific market but what they've done. Is being built that in theory. Very robust risk profile Brittany has been modeled it early that they're competitive and it allotment or. Provide their customers. But he's been on the pedestal gonna transfer money from. You know here in the state to their between India and that it could be something to negate that immediately within five minute. It typically what most would most other companies you're gonna eat that late air and it is that that on those on that they're PDA PH process which. You know that can come back actually charge against him if for some reason response and not being available. But what he'd done of the bill that the great. Repeat business model they they are currently mobile up. Not play every year and in so I think a lot of growth. Outlook for the company at a level that would be brought all the take out of the. Yeah let's just say like how could western union allow them to succeed. Look interesting you know because along western union was focused on board that physical presence and in sort of the people war in in the commission agents. In India has been seen an irritant theater in the Internet has done for so many it's disrupted the business as well look. Western unit got stuck in that sort of twilight than trying to play off of their original business model. And yet been trying to also be calm more nimble and more efficient like you know and really they're almost having to kind of follows and we need. And in Beatles but what we've seen is that the starting out as to the tech company really be able built up from mayor. They got just a tremendous has started in the you know the Internet age and the other thing to remember is to do. 30% of their workforce is dedicated specifically to that risk management side of the business. But when you at a capitol light business structure like this. Other poignantly very human need to build large market opportunity of the market up to meet general corporate 600 billion dollar. It in that market in in overall orbit on opposite sides of market and market more. Along the 100 billion but as they enter more country's debt market opportunity will continue to grow. Event last trivia question I have few days. Where did the second horse suffered losses. In the Atlas Mountains battlefield was cast serene tax K a cat's ass. You are I any Eisenhower needed a general patton's caliber to restore morale and to get tankers going for by march of 1943. Patton had reorganized the second cork restored discipline and confidence with the men and with they counteroffensive he had the Germans on the retreat. Montgomery's brits were pushing from the east so that's the answer to our second trivia question autism every at Alfred North Easton. That are out okay good that our eight let's go to Matt Schultz. You probably would love to get rid of carrying both your wallet in your Smartphone especially given the size of our Smartphones now Matt Schultz from credit card dot com joins us credit cards dot com joins us to talk about apple pay Harry don't match. Great are you good so what did we learn from apple yesterday as a reload relates to apple pay because it really. This program they came out last fall. People have been using it very much have a. No not to the degree that says that apple would like it will we saw yesterday is its they're taking kind of the the next step in trying to get people to use apple anymore and what they're doing is days they announced they'd be you'll soon be able to. Puts. Debit cards and credit cards from retailers. Into apple hey Andy he'll also be able to. I integrate loyalty cards the rewards cards in as well those so that's it's an important. Next step. Yeah you have to have that because. For instance you know I shop at BJ pretty regularly right so to go to each case I need my rewards card and I need my credit card. And go to CDS he needs your rewards card and you need your credit card. Until they can give it to me all in one easy to use package I'm not condone it. Yeah exactly Americans love their reward is no question about it and does but the big. Billion dollar question is contending make people want to start using mobile payments more. I think they probably can't do it if they can't is it hard to see what will. Doesn't it all come down to the money don't they have to pay us if they want us to use it okay if the lower the fees are. Give us a discount like if they said to me a very if you use apple pay will give you a 1% discount over using. Cash for using your credit cards the as the old fashioned way I would then immediately start using apple. Yeah it it it's clear that the people still needs some sort of incentive it is doubtful Payer or really any mobile payment. And I think it if they were able to come up with. Discount it as the exclusive to apple pay them that would be a really big driver eons. And he I wonder if this integration of rewards cards might be the first step toward that will. Well that would help right it's easy because for the nice thing like say go to a CVS store they give you know. You know four feet worth the receipts right in there might be coupon in there and live. OK that's it it's like this the receipts there are four feet long. In the near to read through the receipts to see if there's any disk Kathy can take advantage of if they put that on my phone. And I knew the next time I went in to by shaving cream or toothpaste toothbrushes or whatever it is a bone in their guy. Right if it was automatically. Applied to my next purchase at B a lot into what happens to my receipts are sitting in the backseat in my car. Yes I wanted it it really all dipped down. On Tuesday the central issue with apple page and that that most people don't think it's actually easier he uses. Then plastic. And that's that insecurity are related to use central issues. And they've they've still got a ways speculative to kind of climb that mountain. I've actually had two people text me. In the last five minutes saying that they're using it on their watch from their Iowa. Bet that's interstate I I've never used it I used it on my on my iPhone they've never used it on the watch. And see if it I think the jury's still out on apple watch. Yeah now are all banks compatible with apple take it's finally says my bank won't even take apple. Yet not all banks bent the number is growing by the day in. Eons most of the most of the biggest banks. All are on board so it view we need to probably. Two thirds recorders able credit cards that are issues will probably work but that doesn't include that we. Generic title Matt thank you very much for your time appreciate it. Thank you Mike you have. You would you call the yeah Google wallet I think it is how does that say it's I think it's very similar technology in the inch thinking that they do which Hampshire group was getting paid. At the eyeballs fours so I have my Walgreens rewards card. And new mine. Google wallet. And there's a walk range right next house of literally every time I'd leave my front door in front Walgreens right. Every time that happens my phone doesn't take your bio Walgreens teenage pick anything up. That's concrete yeah so it it's looking at the GPS on my phone saying earlier you're walking by the Walgreens don't you have your words bounce card what about golf was supposed to do the same thing in huge of the wall foods whole foods yet it right there's no rewards card they don't know you know they don't have a specific whole foods customer number but I assume that the same thing would happen if I'm voted in you know your BJ's cart them I'd be chasers and they do need to be agents yeah. So do you use Google pay. I I honestly I've tried a few times and like record justice and I didn't find it to be that much more convenient and carry my credit cards goes into you can get rid of everything in your wallet her. Doesn't make any sense. Will we ever be able to get rid of like he does will it take for me. Would be I'd want the receipts you'd get the receipt of email now where you are you just say I don't wanna printed receipt email me the receipt now we have here for your tax records and I would want my driver's license and how you do it like to get pulled over by cop would you do you hook up your phone. Yeah they're they're working on that a lot of different states are working on having the driver's license being loaded in your phones that they're working on that technology. And I agree that's the biggest factor because. Even bigger than you needing your driver's license think about the early adopters this type of technology are typically young kids they're the ones that need to have their driver's license on the here and 1819 you know if you're driving around get pulled over a lot international I zero lol do you need to add your driver's license on you again in to a bar to buy out all all of that stuff there it actors and needs. Mean a basic question is you know one of my concerns what if you lose your phone. All our nation's health care is like you really have to be attached your friends and it all backed up into the cloud. I don't I don't I don't know close out night it is yeah so it probably. Still you are out of locker you know better darn Boehner. When I Leslie Sanchez owns use at school he has pulled stole wreck. Right yeah and and somebody actually resold that it was being used I mean that that's a scary exactly you know he's got the security side. Of this technology something but I think. You really in order to get us all use it. There has to be some kind of financial inducement at least temper and maybe something like a credit card were peace be on it the grocery story 3% cash Packers yup that. I don't see how apples and sent guys to do that make money race. I think the way you do it is you get all your cards onto that won't happen until everything. Narrate it when we come back we're gonna talk about. For individuals that were charged with insider trading related to the sale of some banks dot. That's next on when he talks to. About transferring highly appreciated assets whether they be stocks or real state to an irrevocable trust because they feared their beneficiaries. Will not receive a step up in cost basis. Upon their death. True or false. It is false again they should not be concerned about that because the way these trusts are drafted they will get a step up and remember. They should be concerned because most of these assets that they're transferring. Art house or vacation right they spent very little on in buying it. And folks that's what you basis that is very little if you paid for it. And now it's worth a whole lot more well if you were to sell it they take the value of what you sell it for minor issue or basis to come up with a gain. Well when you die. If these are owned either in your name alone or included in your state even via one of these trusts and the government gives you this amazing thing called a step up in basis which means you beneficiaries. Get back home that vacation home on the lake as if you bought it at fair market value on the date of death that your parents died and now if you guys say you don't want it and sell it you salad and you have no capital gains tax to pay huge win so don't be afraid of that put the trust to protect it and get the step up in basis. And Michael Armstrong is done and tell us about four people who were charged with. Insider trading by the SEC yeah you know it's been awhile since I've seen these very clear cut and dried case of insider trading. This has to do with the Bancorp Rhode islanders sold to Brookline bank back in 2011 and basically of you know one of the big directors of Bancorp just told his buddies there's gonna happen and about the stock and L profited quite largely from us there. Hopefully are gonna go to jail we'll see what happens but you know it we've seen a whole lot of obviously financial fraud and that things going on here but this is just such a very clear cut and dry case called the Saturn brand new phone records they've got. Tons of it looks like they've got quite a bit. Documentation on this so. I wouldn't be surprised in this case that actually sees them Cuban jail of us. Well yes Terry if you're not there the story they're they're breaking off these two businesses PayPal and he becomes separates. And the they don't. They were created together and they have they did have a lot of synergies to begin with but now they're they're really separate companies that focus on different things eBay's online marketplace. PayPal is strictly a payment to people still use eBay that I don't easy to use it I personally never really used to neinsager the last time they use your day it was to get something stupid when I was in college and now I just using Amazon. It's us it's still considered to be. A 73 billion dollar company but they haven't broken it up. Yes they haven't quite broken it up yet and eBay seeing you know sales falling because of the exact reason that you mention the Amazon's you know it of the agency is Alibaba and start playing a big role in that marketplace in the US as well. They've got a ton of competition where as they really weren't the only auction online marketplace back in today. PayPal is doing you know fairly well their revenues are increasing its just email it's on this marks track. A pack so right now you can buy shares of the day. They're down 61 cents today at sixty dollars and 24 cents they've traded as low as 46 dollars a share during the last year and is high. And 63 dollars per share during the last 52 weeks. New housing headwinds what really asking is is is housing gonna continue to improve its been improving since probably. And a say in New England since 2001 we have four years in a row pretty good housing. We have brand New England is. I think. That one thing that we talked about of turnovers that housing is very regional mean New England housing market has done quite well specifically the Boston in the 120 has done incredibly well. But you are seeing some big demographic shifts that people my generation and owning homes for a number of big reasons and an army money. Yeah there's there's not a whole lot of money you know the unemployment rates in the younger kids thirty and under is a lot higher than the overall unemployment rate so and under player. Yet under employment and unemployment. You're getting a mortgage these days is a lot offers well when it goes to apply for a damn whether that be you know a younger kids or adults you know getting. Getting a loan is not quite as he used to be says there is some concern that homeownership rates have been declining. And they may continue to decline. Especially among young adults and so you know it doesn't bode well for the housing market it doesn't. Bode particularly well the next 510 years it'll be certainly instincts she recognized brands have been skyrocketing. Presumably people during some sort of cost benefit analysis and saying Britain whose name well. Rents are this -- I need to be saving more money for all of which if you know on that if you know the position to do so yeah you're in trouble the other big thing they're looking as the tax benefits of homeownership. Their really targeted in the twelfth. You know that right off interest deductions I think 75%. Of those benefits go to about 20% of homeowners go. They're looking at how that can be restructured to more benefit new first time home buyers. You like you want people to own a home if you borrowing tables good idea bad idea. V. Can be a good use money but the you really have to understand what you're doing I think there's a lot of misinformation about what you're doing when your actions are against your 401K plan you know a lot of the time. If you are paying yourself to take a loan from afar when k.'s New York paying yourself the interest which can be attractive that. While the time you're paying quite high interest rate and you could go in some cases get home equity line firm. Lot of people do this is like 26 huge huge number of people do this and most plans allow I think 94% of plans lies to take. Loan against your 401K are just not right. That definitely so. Yeah I wouldn't answered in this voters are turning to Vizio large portion of people are doing his easy that's the problem it's very easy and but most people don't have enough money saved up to even cover their basic costs of retirements they're following cape and fewer. Borrowing against it in addition. A unit that does not bode well for what you know it is if there's no underwriting you're not asking anybody right it's it's private you have to go to the bank. Is guaranteed you borrowings 50000. You have 50000. Or one half your bounce which errors lower now. So yeah it is your right it is easy but you know in some cases are paying 12%. Over prime hours just to get home equity lines for primary and Suze. Not be paying a whole lot of well. Are coming up we're gonna be joined by Jared Anderson. Well the correct answer to our last question was fast all. Perhaps one of patents greatest moments in World War II was turning his army northward and hitting the southern flank in the yard and forest. And Bastogne was the name of that town and it's very important town during World War II who knew the answer that Michael. We had that Christopher from Springfield Massachusetts at for Christopher all right. Let's see our guest now is Jared Anderson. From braking energy he's an oil analyst he's gonna help us better understand what's going on with the oil prices which by the way today just went over sixty dollars per barrel. Hey don't Jarret. Very good good. So talk to us about OPEC why didn't they just cut supply last week in day in an effort to try to get prices to. Yeah a lot so that they have a bit of a winning strategy right on what part of that is. Trying to resuscitate demand a little bit and make sure that there must demand for further oral. They're also trying to maintain market share so. That's certainly they've been pursuing knowledge and last November or Thanksgiving when their first back to Mexico you know not really suppresses. Public. Where there's still report. Do they still cheat like gave you the country still cheat in terms of their because there are they are given an allotment. That they're allowed to produce and and sell but then frequently they would cheat on each other. Yet it's not country specific intent of voters is there right now but there's thirty million barrel very. Level and all. Evidenced by the fact they probably are pumping more than that. Oh is pretty good thing barrels. They're probably somewhere and about 31 million vehicles opened more. Because it makes it more difficult to connect a couple of. At some point does it make sense for the United States to curtail their production I mean if we can buy it. If if the saudis are dumb enough to sell it to us for sixty bucks a barrel should we do that is posted. Dig in and out of the ground at seventy. I don't well. It's US we're cut production and that would be here. There are increasing part could be. Our report for practice but we don't necessarily want oil prices increase. And as consuming nation bribery. Our next. Promotion and hours and where producers. First deliver higher initial. That remains lower alternately they kind of spot somewhere in the middle. The economy keeps coming off. So would you forecasting that and is an energy analyst. You know if it's only June but I've already got people asking me you know what are we gonna be paying for oil this winter because we had a brutal winter this last year. We did and yes we do do eating in the northeast. Well in the US modesty in Moscow where most using it or charge additional. I think it will bring it into airplanes and our our trucks and but it echo short. There is to let it all while a lot of wild cards there are certainly wondering what happened with first production going forward. There's been a lot of special running out of the system. A lot of companies have cut back on our expert at times in production calm down. Patch as quickly as some might addictive and or probably are going. And your actions will likely decrease. The first and repeated production growth decreased. Numbers coroner our show and Lester production increased. But I entering. In states. Support Republicans.
